    • DETROIT -- Victor Martinez loves hitting homers, though even he had to laugh Sunday when he was asked about breaking out of a power slump with a pair of weekend three-run shots. Clippers Jerseys China . His third-inning shot to left was all that Anibal Sanchez needed to finish off a weekend sweep of the Colorado Rockies with a 4-0 victory Sunday. Before homering Saturday and Sunday, Martinez hadnt hit a ball out since July 3, a 16-game stretch that also included eight days off recovering from a back strain. However, he did hit .281 during his "slump", and the two this weekend gave him 23 on the season, only two short of his career high, so hes not too worried. "I think I was on pace for 100 homers there for a while, and I have to tell you, I wasnt going to keep that up," he said. "This game is tough, and all you do is go up there and try to have a good at-bat every time up. A lot of times, thats not going to mean a homer, even if you do your job. Ive just got a couple on the barrel in the last two days." Sanchez (8-5) became the third straight Tigers starter to dominate the Rockies, striking out a season-high 12 in seven innings. He only allowed two hits and a walk. "I had the life back in my fastball, and I just kept going to it," Sanchez said. "When you know you can throw your fastball on every pitch, and you know you can put it anywhere, it makes your other pitches even more dangerous." Joba Chamberlain allowed one hit in a shutout eighth inning, and Joakim Soria did the same in the ninth. Jorge De Le Rosa (11-7) gave up four runs on six hits in 6 2-3 innings. All six hits came with two outs, but Detroit grouped three of them to create a big third inning. "They are tough on everyone -- for me, thats the best lineup in the league," De La Rosa said. "I made some really good pitches, and they still hit them. That shows you how good they are." De La Rosa retired the first two batters of the third, but Rajai Daviss speed and some sluggish defence turned a routine single into a double. De La Rosa then hit Ian Kinsler, and Miguel Cabrera made it 1-0 with a single up the middle. Martinez connected two pitches later. Sanchez fanned seven in his final three innings. TRAINERS ROOM: Detroit: LF Andy Dirks went 1 for 4 for Single-A West Michigan on his second rehab assignment to try and return from a back problem that has kept him out all season. Dirks, who had to cut his first assignment short in July, is hitting .286 in two games for the Whitecaps. Colorado: SP Christian Bergman (wrist) was scheduled to make his second rehab start for Double-A Tulsa on Sunday night. ... OF Carlos Gonzalez remained out of Sundays lineup, two days after aggravating an ankle injury when he slid into the Comerica Park fence trying to catch a foul ball. Walt Weiss said Sunday that hes confident Gonzalez will return during the upcoming home series against the Cubs. UP NEXT: Detroit: Detroit travels to New York for a four-game series that will be highlighted by David Prices first start in a Tigers uniform. In Mondays series opener, Max Scherzer (13-3, 3.27) faces Brandon McCarthy (6-10, 4.56). Colorado: After a day off on Monday, the Rockies return home for three games with the Cubs. Brett Anderson (1-3, 3.12) is scheduled to start the opener against Chicagos Travis Wood (7-9 5.10). LEFTY PARADE: De La Rosa became the 19th straight lefty to start for the Rockies, moving them one game short of the major league record, set by the 1982 Kansas City Royals. The Rockies are expected to at least tie the record, with Anderson scheduled to pitch Tuesday, but they have not announced their rotation for the rest of the Chicago series. CAREER YEAR: Even after the injury and slow month, Martinez is on pace for 35 homers. In 2007, when he hit his 25 homers for Cleveland, he didnt hit his 23rd until Sept. 16. Martinez is also on pace to set career highs in slugging percentage (.567) and OPS (.948). DOMINANT ROTATION: In the three-game sweep, Sanchez, Justin Verlander and Rick Porcello combined for a 1.57 ERA with 27 strikeouts and two walks in 23 innings. Discount Clippers Jerseys . PAUL, Minn. Authentic Blake Griffin Jersey .J. -- The New York Jets have promoted Tony Sparano Jr.Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kris Humphries best game in a Washington uniform couldnt have come at a better time. Fresh off consecutive losses, Humphries totaled 21 points and 14 rebounds and stepped up in overtime as the Wizards took down the Denver Nuggets, 117-115, on Sunday. Humphries scored four early points in the extra session, as Washington opened a 111-105 lead with the first six of OT. Denver countered with five in a row, but John Wall assisted on a Nene layup then drove in for one of his own to keep Washington in front. Darrell Arthur and Arron Afflalo missed 3s on the next trip, and Wall made it a five-point game with two free throws. Adding to the drama, Wilson Chandler hit a trey from the top of the key with 3.8 seconds left to make it two, and Paul Pierce threw a lazy inbounds pass, which Ty Lawson easily intercepted. Lawson could have forced double overtime, but his uncontested mid-range jumper missed short as time expired. Wall posted 19 points and 16 assists and Pierce scored 19 for the Wizards. Lawson returned from a one-game absence following a DUI arrest and paced Denver with 31 points and 12 assists. Chandler added 20 and nine boards in Denvers sixth straight loss. The Nuggets led by one affter three quarters. Authentic Chris Paul Jersey. Kevin Seraphin scored two quick baskets to open the fourth, and Danilo Gallinari hit from deep to tie the game at 87. From there, the Wizards built a 94-89 lead, the biggest of the fourth quarter, and Denver quickly trimmed the gap with three J.J. Hickson free throws. After Lawsons 3-pointer at 4:39, neither team led by more than two points until overtime. Wall looked to win it for Washington, driving to the basket as the seconds melted away, but Lawson stripped him and fired ahead to Kenneth Faried. Faried drew a foul, but missed both free throws with under two seconds to play. He then blocked Pierces baseline turnaround at the horn. It was 59-59 at halftime, and neither team won a quarter by more than two points in this back-and-forth contest that featured 13 lead changes and 10 ties. Game Notes Arthur and Afflalo had 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Denver, while Faried pulled down 11 boards ... • SUN CITY, South Africa -- Luke Donalds fast start in the Nedbank Golf Challenge was halted by lightning Thursday, leaving the former top-ranked Englishman ahead by two shots at 5 under through 11 holes. Nike Air Max Billigt Sverige . No one was able to play more than 12 holes because of lightning and a thunderstorm. Donald began the 30-man invitational with a birdie and an eagle and was 5 under when the days second interruption for lightning forced players off for good. He was two ahead of Jamie Donaldson and Thomas Bjorn. "I feel good over the ball right now and I am playing with confidence," Donald said, coming off a win in Japan two weeks ago. Wales Donaldson played 12 holes, while Denmarks Bjorn was 3 under with three birdies in his six holes. Brendon de Jonge was due to join those two on 3 under and two off the lead after spinning a wedge back into the hole from 110 yards for an eagle three on No. 9 right as the weather hooter sounded. His score wasnt yet officially registered as his playing partners hadnt completed the hole. Playing for the first time since ending last season with the FedEx Cup and European money list title, Henrik Stenson was 1 under after seven and tied for fifth, with six straight pars after a birdie on No 1. Boosted by his victory at the Dunlop Phoenix, Donalds quick start at Sun City came off sweetly struck iron shots into the greens at his opening two holes. He also picked up back-to-back birdies at the end of his opening nine. "Lovely start," he said. "It doesnt get much better than three-three around here. Birdie, eagle and all of a sudden you are three under par through two holes. I played solid for those first 11 holes and hit a couple of very nice shots in that time that I was able to take advantage of." Defending champion Martin Kaymer is in the mix at 2 under, while Charl Schwartzel led the South African challenge as one of seven players tied at 1 under par. Sergio Garica is also part of that group, as is Peter Uihlein of the United States. Ernie Els was 3 over after seven in search of his fourth title at Sun City and U.S. Open champion Justin Rose was 4 over after eight. Only Australias Peter Senior, with three double bogeys in his first six holes to crash to 8 over through 10, was worse than Rose. Having initially been kept off the course for nearly three hours through an earlier thunderstorm, the players came off for the second time in late afternoon and will all have to come back at 7:30 Friday morning to complete their opening rounds. Nike Air Max Billigt Online .S. -- Carl-Antoine Delisle snapped a tie in the third period with his second goal of the game to lead the Tigres past Cape Breton 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Wednesday as Victoriaville won its eighth in a row. Nike Air Max Billigt Rea . Tortorella told The Vancouver Province hell be cheering for Team Sweden to win gold when they take on the defending Olympic champions on Sunday morning. "I hope Sweden wins, cause I dont think Hammer (Dan Hamhuis) is going to play, judging by whats happened.ARLINGTON, Texas -- Chris Carter is hitting under .200 this season for the Houston Astros. Still, he is hitting the ball hard -- and deep. Carter led off two innings with home runs, George Springer had one inning-starting long ball and the Astros beat the Texas Rangers 8-3 on Tuesday night, getting a game closer to escaping the AL West cellar. The Astros go for a three-game series sweep on Wednesday after winning only twice in 19 games against Texas last season. They have won four straight overall against their instate rival for the first time since 2002. "Its just nice to beat them this year," Carter said. "They beat up on us pretty bad last year." Carter started the sixth with a 409-foot blast into the seats in left field to make it 4-2. Two innings later, his 17th homer of the season was almost as long -- but just cleared the wall and the outstretched glove of centre fielder Leonys Martin for a 6-3 lead. Nine of Carters last 17 hits have been homers. It was the third multihomer game this season for the .194 hitter. "He hits them in bunches. Lets hope this is one of those bunches," manager Bo Porter said. "On the home run to left field, he was getting extension. Hes a big, strong man and hes hitting the ball well." Jose Altuve had two hits, two stolen bases and a sacrifice fly. The All-Star second baseman matched Houstons franchise record with 28 consecutive stolen bases without being caught while pushing his AL-leading total to 41. He leads the American League with 126 hits and a .341 batting average. Houston went ahead to stay with two runs in the first inning off Phil Irwin (0-1) who was making his Rangers debut. Brad Peacock (3-5) struck out five while allowing two runs and six hits over 5 2-3 innings. Except for 21 days, and none past mid-April in either of their two seasons since switching leagues, the Astros have been at the bottom of the five-team AL West. After taking the first two of this three-game set, they are withiin a game of fourth-place Texas, which has lost nine of its last 10 games -- and 17 of 20. Nike Air Max Sverige Online. Springer, the rookie centre fielder, led off the third with his 18th homer -- a 430-foot shot to the hill in centre field. Martin led off the Texas second with his fifth homer before adding a sacrifice fly and a triple. Jake Smolinski had an RBI double in the seventh for his first major league hit. The Astros loaded the bases with no outs in the first, including Robbie Grossman reaching on a strikeout, before Altuve was picked off third base by catcher Chris Gimenez. Jon Singleton and Matt Dominguez followed with consecutive RBI singles. Irwin allowed three runs and six hits in four innings. He made a start in April 2013 for Pittsburgh, which waived him earlier this season. The right-hander was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock earlier Tuesday when right-hander Nick Martinez (left side discomfort) was put on the 15-day disabled list. "It just came down to the first inning ... overthrowing out of the gate," Irwin said. "Just trying to throw it hard, blow it past people. Thats not my game." NOTES: Astros C Jason Castro was out of the lineup for the second straight day because of pain in his left armpit. Castro was able to swing in the batting cage before the game but didnt play. ... Irwin became the 1,000th player in the history of the Washington Senators-Texas Rangers franchise (1961-2014). He was also the 47th player used by the Rangers this season, one more than they used all last year. RHP Roman Martinez made it 1,001 and 48 with two scoreless innings in his major league debut. ... Grossman had an 18-game hitting streak at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he was before being recalled Tuesday when OF Alex Presley (strained right oblique) was put on the 15-day DL. Grossman, in his third stint in the majors this season, is hitless in his last 28 at-bats for the Astros after going 0 for 4 with a walk. He was the only Houston player without a hit. Authentic Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Tennessee Titans Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Washington Redskins Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Arizona Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Denver Broncos Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Green Bay Packers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike New England Patriots Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Oakland Raiders Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Seattle Seahawks Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Carolina Panthers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Cleveland Browns Jerseys Cheap Cheap Throwback Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Atlanta Braves Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Baltimore Orioles Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago Cubs Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago White Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cincinnati Reds Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cleveland Indians Jerseys ' ' '

    • OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thunder guard Derek Fisher has played more playoff games than anyone in history. Ito Smith Jersey . He says the Western Conference finals between the Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, filled with major strategy shifts and home blowouts, has produced one of the wildest series hes been involved in. San Antonio leads 3-2 and can close out it out Saturday in Oklahoma City. "Theres no script for this," Fisher said. "You can try to set expectations, and everybody can sit around and try and predict whats going to happen and which team is going to come out on top, and its just impossible. Thats what makes sports sports, and why people are so excited about either being there or watching it, because you never know whats going to happen." San Antonios Gregg Popovich and Oklahoma Citys Scott Brooks have one-upped each other with shrewd moves during the series, and the scoreboard has tipped dramatically with each change. Oklahoma City came up with the first major lineup changes in Game 3. Defensive wiz Serge Ibaka returned to Oklahoma Citys starting lineup after suffering what was thought to be a season-ending left calf strain and Reggie Jackson moved into the starting lineup to help the Thunder win Game 3, 107-96, and Game 4, 105-92. In Game 5 in San Antonio, the Spurs decision to go with perimeter-shooting post players alongside Tim Duncan helped the teams floor spacing, and the Spurs rolled to a 117-89 win. Matt Bonner got his first start of the season, and his presence helped Duncan get off to a fast start. Boris Diaw started the second half and scored seven points in the third quarter to help the Spurs take a 20-point lead at the end of the period. Popovichs move forced Ibaka, the leagues leading shot blocker during the regular season, away from the basket, and the Spurs perimeter players had an easier time getting to the hoop. "The adjustments that the coaches made were very efficient tonight," Diaw said after the game. "We tried to space the floor a little more. We came back to the way we were aggressive in the first two games. Going from good to great. Thats what Pop has asked all year, thats what weve been doing all year." When Brooks was asked if he might start Ibaka at centre to prevent the Spurs from pulling him away from the basket, Brooks ruled nothing out. "Anythings possible," he said. "We just have to, whoever we put out there, we just have to play better." Thunder forward Kevin Durant said lineup changes, though important, are secondary to effort. He said Oklahoma City did not play with enough intensity in Game 5. "Schemes and Xs and Os, it all goes out the door," he said. "Weve just got to play harder. They did last game, so weve got to match up." Brooks said the key for Oklahoma City is defence. San Antonio has shot at least 50 per cent from the field in all three of its wins. If the Thunder dont get stops, they cant get into their dangerous fast break attack. "We know their plays, they know our plays, and we just have to be able to execute with maximum effort to give ourselves a chance to get a stop," Brooks said. "Thats what it comes down to." The lineup changes have coincided with venue changes. The home teams have won every game in the series by at least nine points, and by an average of 20.4 per game. Popovich was at a loss to explain why the series has played out this way. "It seems like the home team each time looks to have the greater passion or physicality," he said. "Thats hard to measure because both teams want to win just as bad as the other." Durant said the effort must be there Saturday night or the trend of home blowouts -- and Oklahoma Citys season -- will end. "We know that its a situation where we lose, we go home, and nobody wants to do that, so we just leave it all out there and whatever happens we live with," Durant said. "Most of the time when we play extremely hard, play well, play together, we come out on top." Desmond Trufant Jersey . The win puts Arsenal four points clear of Everton in fourth place with two games to play in the Premier League, a position which would qualify the club for Europes top competition for the 17th straight year. Duke Riley Jersey . The win gives Canada its fifth title at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge. "Weve got to keep pushing," said Westlake, who led Canada with five goals in the tournament. "The second you let off the pedal, everyone catches up.NORTON, Mass. -- A good start and a great finish was enough for Sergio Garcia to take the lead Saturday in the Deutsche Bank Championship. For Phil Mickelson, just finishing in the same spot he started was a victory. On another day of soft conditions and plenty of birdies on the TPC Boston, Garcia opened with five birdies in seven holes, and then made an 18-foot eagle putt on the 18th hole for a 7-under 64 and a one-shot lead over Roberto Castro and Henrik Stenson, the Swede who is popping up on every leaderboard. Garcia was at 13-under 129, and it held up as the lead when no one could catch him on a cloudy afternoon with some light rain. Tiger Woods, in the 1-2-3 grouping with Mickelson and Adam Scott, made a 35-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole for a 67 and was six shots. Mickelson, however, managed to steal the show with a 71. Lefty went on the wildest ride at the TPC Boston, completely losing his swing during one stretch when he at times appeared closer to hitting Rhode Island than hitting a fairway. He went into the hazard to the left of the ninth fairway and into another one right of the 10th fairway. Only a tree kept his tee shot on the par-3 11th hole from disappearing into the woods. He hit into the gallery to the left and into the gallery on the right on consecutive holes. He found the water on the par-3 16th. And he still managed an even-par 71 by closing with back-to-back birdies, leaving him five shots behind and in a great frame of mind for the final 36 holes. "I was playing terrible and I shot even par," Mickelson said. "I fought hard. Throughout the course of my career, it happens where you kind of lose it for a little bit. I fought hard in the interim and was able to find it there in the end, giving me confidence heading into the weekend. But more than that, it kept me within striking distance. "I could have easily shot myself out of the tournament, knocking them in the hazard I dont know how many times," he said. "If I go on and play the way I believe I am going to this weekend, I am going to look back on those nine holes as the key to the entire tournament." Stenson often refers to tournaments as three-and-a-half days of a marathon just to get to the back nine for a chance to win. If thats the case, this is starting to feel like a marathon with a 4-minute mile pace. The cut was at 1-under 141, ending the season for some players who have no chance of beiing in the top 70 in the FedEx Cup to advance to the third playoff event. Matt Schaub Jersey. . Woods was among 29 players still within six shots of the lead at the halfway point. Woods didnt feel as though he got much out of his round, and a radio reporter suggested he might be capable of something better than 65 if he puts it all together. "Theres going to have to be to get back into this thing," Woods said. "Theres so many guys up there that are 9-under par or better. Theres a ton of guys up there. Its going to take a couple of low rounds." Stenson had eight birdies and a clean card in his round of 63. Castrol was 7 under for his round at the turn and had to settle for a 65 after a rough patch in the middle of his back nine. Matt Kuchar and PGA champion Jason Dufner each had 66 and were three shots behind. Justin Rose had a 63 and was another shot back, along with Jordan Spieth, who had a 66. Garcia is not a regular at the second FedEx Cup playoff event. He prefers to take this week off to rest, but he couldnt guarantee that he would be among the top 70 in the standings after the Deutsche Bank Championship who advance to the third event So far, it looks like a good move. "Unfortunately, I didnt play well enough and it was touch-and-go if I was going to make the BMW without playing here," said Garcia, who is at No. 55. "Sixteen guys could easily pass me if they played well. So we decided to come here and make a little bit of an extra effort of playing five weeks in a row, which I dont usually enjoy very much." Garcia looked as if he would be much higher in the FedEx Cup standings earlier this year, when he had top 10s in a World Golf Championship, the Masters and The Players Championship. But his year took a bad turn off the course. During a two-week spat with Woods that began at The Players Championship, Garcia jokingly said during a Q-and-A at an awards dinner in London that he would invite Woods over during for dinner during the U.S. Open and serve fried chicken. He apologized the next day, though he was clearly rattled. Garcia hasnt finished in the top 20 since. "Everything has been kind of a little difficult, but its good," Garcia said. "Its been a good learning experience. So I think that you always have to try to take the positives out of all those things and learn from your mistakes. • TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Wholesale Authentic Jordans . - Florida State has suspended Jameis Winston for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday, extending its initial punishment of one half after the quarterback made "offensive and vulgar" comments about female anatomy earlier this week. Interim President Garnett S. Stokes and athletic director Stan Wilcox announced the decision late Friday night. There had been criticism that the original punishment for Winstons latest embarrassing off-field incident was too light. The statement released by the university Friday read, "Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesdays incident involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday night." Several students tweeted Winston stood on campus and shouted a lascivious comment that may have derived from an internet meme. A university spokeswoman told The Associated Press Friday night Stokes was not available for comment; Wilcox could not be reached. The university also had initially announced that Winston would face internal discipline. Officials did not say why Winston was only benched for just a half and they did not provide details of the internal punishment. Coach Jimbo Fisher was asked about the half-game suspension after practice Thursday and said, "Were in charge. Its our team. Thats what we thought. We went with the consequences and were ready to move on." Fisher also said after that practice that the president and athletic director are always involved in university policy, but declined to answer when asked if its normal for them to be involved in team discipline. "It was wrong and he made a mistake," Fisher said Thursday. "He made a bad error in judgment. But thats water under the bridge. We have to move on and get ready for this game. Were 48 hours out and Im going to focus on this football game." The 20-year-old Winston addressed his inappropriate comments before Wednesdays practice: "I have to tone it down." The Heisman Trophy winner has made similar comments after previous incidents. While playing for the Florida State baseball team, he was suspended for three games and completed 20 hours of community service after acknowledging he stole $32 worth of crab legs from a local grocery store in April. Before the football season, he said he had matured, learned what it takes to be a leader and understood that he needed to be more careful in his personal life. The school president and AD are admonishing him for doing just the opposite. "You know you have to overcome adversity, and thats one thing at Florida State that we do," Winston said Wednesday. "We work on overcoming adversity. When I do get my opportunity to play, Im going to do everything I can because I have to accept it. "Thats going to eat me up because I want to be out there on the field. I want to be out on the field with my team, but I did something so I have to accept the consequences." Little known redshirt sophomore Sean Maguire will make his first college start for the top-ranked Seminoles in Saturdays nationally televised game against No. 22 Clemson. He has only thrown 26 career passes and was the No. 3 quarterback before Jacob Coker was injured in 2013 then transferred to Alabama. "I wouldnt say its a distraction, maybe at the time," Maguire said Thursday about the incident. "Maybe for the first little bit, but once the news came out, practiced happened yesterday. "It makes me more confident knowing I get to go out there and play quarterback like we do in practice, like we do every day. Im just looking forward to it, thats all I can say." Florida State is trying to repeat as national champions and the winner of the Clemson-Florida State matchup has played in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game the last five years. Saturday will be the first game Florida State has played without Winston since the start of 2013 and they are 16-0 during that stretch. Wholesale Jordans China . "Ill never turn my back on my country," the Toronto FC striker told reporters after training Wednesday. "Like I mentioned before I still feel like Ive got a lot to offer. If I didnt feel that way, Id say theres no point because youre not doing anyone any favours if youre sort of like being selfish (and) you havent got much to offer. "But I still feel strong, I feel sharp. So hopefully at some point Ill get called up (again). How I feel at the minute, Im still ready to play and score goals for my country." The 31-year-old Defoe, who has 19 goals in 55 appearances for his country, was named to Englands 30-man World Cup roster but did not make the final 23. At the time, he said he was devastated by the snub. England (0-2-1) finished last in Group D behind Costa Rica, Uruguay and Italy, managing to score just two goals. "Spain are out, Italy are out," Defoe said. "Some big nations are out but obviously it would have been nice to see (England) progress to the later stage of the tournament. But it wasnt meant to be. A lot of young players, they still have opportunities again to play in tournaments and Im sure theyll do well. But this year it wasnt meant to be. It was a tough group." England captain Steven Gerrard and vice-captain Frank Lampard have said they will take some time to ponder their international future. Veteran fullback Ashley Cole opted to retire prior to the tournament. Veteran midfielder Michael Carrick was also left out of the England squad. "I think its a change," Defoe said, "because obviously theres so many young players coming through — good young players. Obviously theyre inexperienced but theyll get experience with games and I suppose thats what the manager wanted to do when he left me out, Michael Carrick, Ashley Cole, hhe wanted to go with the younger players. Cheap Authentic Air Jordan. . "Hopefully theyll do well but its going to be a massive change ... but well see what happens." Meanwhile, Defoe said he did not take offence at former manager Harry Redknapp saying some of his England players at Spurs had tried to shirk national team duty. Current England manager Roy Hodgson and Gerrard both said Defoe should not be tarred with that brush. "Its difficult for me (to react) because Im not one those players," said Defoe. "Ive never missed a squad and obviously I dont know who those players are. At the end of the day, when youre playing for your country, its the greatest honour ... I always turned out for my country, even if I was half fit." Gerrard urged Redknapp to name names but the veteran manager, who now runs Queens Park Rangers, said it would not be fair to the players in question. Defoe was one of a dozen England players at Tottenham during Redknapps tenure. Toronto manager Ryan Nelsen, a former New Zealand international who played under Redknapp, said he thought the comments might have been taken somewhat out of context. Nelsen, who captained the All Whites, said he would be outraged if anyone suggested he didnt love playing for his country. But he said theres give and take when it comes to club versus country, acknowledging he had asked not to be picked for some friendlies when they were largely commercial ventures on the other side of the globe and they bumped heads with major club clashes. While he had hoped to be playing in Brazil, Defoe welcomed the MLS break during the group stage of the World Cup. Toronto gave its players eight days off following the 1-0 win over San Jose on June 7. Still he admitted to having "itchy feet," wanting to get back to playing. Toronto (6-4-1) returns to action Friday in New York against the Red Bulls (4-5-6). • ST. Authentic Mike Bibby Jersey . LOUIS -- Joe Kelly kept it together, just as Shelby Miller did in the opposite dugout. The matchup of former teammates who were each others best man at their weddings was a high quality draw. Each allowed a run in seven innings. "There was some emotion there," Kelly said after the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 on Wednesday night. "After the first pitch, Im just pitching again. Its like youre in the playoffs." Millers postgame reaction was similar. "I thought it would maybe a little bit more odd than it really was," Miller said. "When hes in the box, youre pitching to him. When were out there, were trying to win the game. Thats it." Xander Bogaerts drove in both runs, including a go-ahead sacrifice fly with the bases loaded off closer Trevor Rosenthal in the ninth inning. Three of Rosenthals six losses have come when hes entered a game tied in the ninth. "I thought he wanted to get ahead of me with a fastball so he could use his off-speed pitches," Bogaerts said. "So I just went in there and keyed on the fastball." Junichi Tazawa (2-3) worked a perfect eighth and Koji Uehara worked around two hits in the ninth for his 23rd save in 25 chances. Boston won for just the third time in 14 games and snapped St. Louis three-game win streak. Rosenthal (1-6) was working in his fourth consecutive game, in five days. "I felt good, I felt like I was making some good pitches," Rosenthal said. "I felt good the whole inning. There was no question I was ready to go." Kelly worked seven innings only twice in 22 starts for St. Louis the last two seasons and Miller got that deep for just the eighth time in 54 career starts. Kelly got a nice ovation while walking to the bullpen to begin warmups, with hundreds of fans standing. There were more cheers when he stepped onto the mound for the first time, and before his first at-bat leading off the third. The crowd cast yet another vote against the trade that brought starter John Lackey but came as a shock in the clubhouse. They cheered Kellys infield hit after the Red Sox successful challenged an out call by first base umpire Gary Cederstrom. The Red Sox loaded the bases with none out in the ninth against Rosenthal, a single by Yoenis Cespedes, double by Mike Napoli and intentional walk to pinch hitter David Ortiz. Bogaerts lined out to centre for a sacrifice fly and the lead. The first pitch was delayed 1 hour, 3 minutes by rain. TRAINERS ROOM Red Sox: GM Ben Cherington is optimistic Allen Craig will be back this season from a left foot strain, but Craig is set to visit Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. EARLY DAMAGE The Cardinals mustered three hits against Kelly but two of them were in the first. Matt Carpenter led off the first with a double and scored on a two-out hit by Matt Adams for the lead. The Red Sox tied it at 1 in the fourth on a pair of two-out hits, Daniel Navas single and a double by Bogaerts off the wall in centre that Jon Jay just missed. Miller retired his last 10 in order. The double snapped an 0 for 15 slump for Bogaerts, and the RBIs were his first since July 29. NICE GLOVE Jay tracked down Napolis drive at the wall to end the sixth and keep it tied and Cespedes tracked down Johnny Peraltas liner at the track in left in the sixth, both on balls that probably would have been homers with more humidity. Bogaerts robbed Carpenter of an RBI in the second with a diving stop to his left at short and toss to second for an inning-ending force play. ON DECK Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright (13-6, 2.26) opposes Brandon Workman (1-4, 4.08) in the series finale. In the World Series, Wainwright was 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA and Workman did not allow an earned run in 3 1-3 innings of relief. Authentic DeMarcus Cousins Jersey .com) - Mike Miller scored a season-high 21 points in a rare start and the Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back from their worst loss of the season with a 95-91 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Cheap Kings Jerseys . -- Brady Heslip scored a season-high 20 points to help Baylor beat No.Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Fisher had a goal and an assist in Nashvilles 5-1 win over Arizona Thursday. • ORLANDO, Fla. Authentic Aron Baynes Jersey . - Adam Scott keeps putting his name in the Bay Hill record book, each round moving him closer to another handshake with The King. One day after Scott opened with a record-tying 62 in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he hit his stride around the turn Friday with five birdies in an eight-hole stretch to leave everyone else far behind. Even with a three-putt bogey on his final hole, Scott still had a 4-under 68 for a seven-shot lead. He was at 14-under 130, matching the 36-hole record at Bay Hill first set by Tom Watson and Andy Bean in 1981. And his seven-shot margin at the halfway point shattered the previous record held by Tiger Woods in 2002 and Paul Azinger in 1988. Scott sounds like hes not the least bit satisfied. "The challenge might be just to start again and try and play a great 36 holes," he said. "Start fresh and try to be the leader after the next 36." That would merit a visit with Arnold Palmer, the tournament host known simply as "The King" in golf circles. Scott has spoken glowingly all week about his first invitation to Bay Hill when he was 20. Walking off the first green, Palmer was in a cart to greet him with a handshake, and Scott was amazed that Palmer knew his name. Now hes the Masters champion, and the 33-year-old Australian is playing like one. J.B. Holmes (69), Chesson Hadley (68) and Francesco Molinari of Italy (70) were tied for second at 7-under. Keegan Bradley had the low score of the blustery second round with a 67, putting him in a group at 138 that included Brandt Snedeker (71) and Jamie Donaldson of Wales (71). "I think Im 10 behind and playing pretty well for two rounds," said Snedeker, who was off by two. "Hes playing pretty phenomenal. Hes going to be a tough guy to catch. A guy that hits it as good as he does and seems to have a complete game like he has, and the way hes playing now, hes not going to come backward. Seems like an awfully special week if you can get close to him." Scott played in the afternoon, when the course began to get firm under two days of full sunshine, and the pace on the greens began to quicken. No one ever got closer than his three-shot lead to start the round, though there were two pivotal moments. He holed a 15-foot par putt on the first hole to calm his nerves, and he hit a gorgeous shot out of the rough from 167 yards and made a 12-foot birdie on the ninth. He went to the back nine 1-under par for his round, and he took off from there. Scott hit a 7-iron to 4 feet on No. 11, got up-and-down for birdie on the par-3 12th, nearly holed a tough chip from behind the 14th green to save par, and then made consecutive birdies with a 30-foot putt on the 15th and a 7-iron to pin-high for a two-putt birdie on the par-5 16th. He only made it look easy. There were three rounds in the 80s, including by U.S. Amateur champion Matthew Fitzpatrick. U.S. Open champion Justin Rose, playing in the same group with Scott, had a 79 and missed the cut for the first time in a regular PGA Tour event since The Players Championship last May. "This course will really start to bare its teeth," Scott said. "Ive got to take in the attitude of starting over again and trying to play a really hard 36 holes. And hopefully, if I can I can keep striking the ball like I am, Ill give myself enough chances for birdie — and hopefully, more birdies than bogeys." At one point, caddie Steve Williams was some 275 yards down the left side of the fairway on the par-5 16th. His boss was barely visible back on the tee, but Williams watched his swing and instantly said, "Perfect." And that it was, 325 yards right down the middle. Scott missed only two fairways and has taken just 52 putts over the first 36 holes. He was in no mood to celebrate just yet. For one thing, he is still recovering from being sick. His energy was better Friday, though he could barely talk above a whisper during a brief interview with Golf Channel before his round. And the Australian knows how a big lead can get away, even on the final day. He had a four-shot lead with four holes remaining in the 2012 British Open when it all went wrong — four straight bogeys — and Ernie Els walked off with the claret jug. Thats a distant memory for Scott, who takes that green jacket from Augusta National with him just about everywhere he goes. "Seven shots over two days is not enough," Scott said. "I dont think you can ever be enough in the lead, to be honest." DIVOTS: Ryo Ishikawa had a 74 and was among those in the group at 5-under. The Japanese star has been working hard on his English. He used the words, "sucker pin," in an interview, and then chatted comfortably with Jimmy Roberts of NBC Sports for about five minutes. ... Southern Amateur champion Zachary Olsen made the cut. ... Sam Saunders, the grandson of Arnold Palmer, had a 71 and was in a tie for 16th. ... Paul Casey made a 7-foot bogey putt on his last hole for a 79 to make the cut on the number at 2-over 146. Cheap Celtics Jerseys . "I honestly dont know," he said. We are disappointed with Brad and fully support todays suspension. • ANNECY, France -- Nathan Smith was the latest Canadian biathlete to secure a spot at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games on Saturday after a 16th-place finish at a World Cup event. Nike Air Max Sko . The 28-year-old from Calgary matched his career best after missing just one shot in his two rounds of shooting in the mens 10-kilometre sprint competition. Smith finished in 23 minutes 15.1 seconds. "This is a huge relief as this result was pretty last minute," said Smith, who need a top-30 result on Saturday to avoid the domestic trial races in Canmore, Alta., next week. "Today was the best ski time Ive had yet at World Cup level, and a solid nine out of 10 in shooting. "Unfortunately my shooting speed was a lot slower than normal. I really had to slow things down and fight for every shot. Thankfully my skiing made up for this so in the end it was still an excellent result that Im very happy about." It was the second 16th place result for Smith this year. Junior world champion Johannes Thingnes Boe of Norway earned his first career win in the event. The 20-year-old Boe shot clean to finish in 22:06.7 seconds, putting him 32.9 ahead of Ondrej Moravec of Czech Republic, who also shot clean. Frenchman Martin Fourcade had one penalty and finished 37.1 back in third place. Uptons 25th homer off Manny Parra (0-1) gave Atlanta its seventh victory in eight games. David Hale (4-4) pitched out of a two-on threat in the 11th. Craig Kimbrel got the last three outs for his 38th save in 42 chances. The Reds managed only two hits — a pair of singles by Billy Hamilton — in their seventh consecutive loss. They fell seven games under .500 for the first time since 2009. Cincinnati (61-68) has dropped out of contention by going 10-24 since the All-Star break. Minor has only one complete game in his career, but he held the Reds without a hit into the eighth, bidding to become the first Braves pitcher to throw a no-hitter since Kent Mercker in 1994. Zack Cozart drew Minors fourth walk and advanced on a groundout. Hamilton lined an RBI single to centre with two outs to end the no-hitter on Minors 107th and final pitch. Cincinnatis defence kept it in the game even though the Reds couldnt get a hit until late. Mat Latos gave up nine hits — matching his season high — but limited the Braves to oone run in six innings with the help of several run-saving defensive plays. Nike Air Max Net. Upton extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single, helping the Braves load the bases with one out in the third. Cozart saved at least one run by making a diving stop on Tommy La Stellas grounder to the hole at shortstop and getting a forceout at second, holding Atlanta to one run on the play. Second baseman Brandon Phillips saved two more runs in the sixth. With runners on second and third and two outs, he made an over-the-shoulder catch of Jason Heywards fly to shallow right field. Atlanta (68-61) stranded six runners in scoring position over the first six innings. TRAINERS ROOM Reds: LHP Tony Cingrani is still having problems with his left shoulder, preventing him from throwing. • LAS VEGAS -- He carried a two-fight losing streak into his bout with Gray Maynard, but Nate Diaz had a scintillating performance in a first-round TKO win. Wizards Jerseys China . The bout served as the featured matchup of Saturdays The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale event, which took place at Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Events Center. It was Maynard (11-3-1) who took the advantage in the early going, scoring a takedown and looking to attack from top position. But Diaz (17-9-0) refused to stay on the floor and continually worked back to his feet, even after Maynard answered with a slam to the canvas. Once there, Diazs boxing did the rest. A stiff land hand started the assault, and as Maynard staggered against the cage Diaz unleashed a non-stop barrage of strikes. Dazed and bleeding, Maynard simply couldnt recover from the non-stop pressure. Referee Yves Lavigne gave him every chance to recover, but Diaz continued the onslaught until he earned the TKO finish, and Maynard stumbled to the canvas as the fight was waved off at the 2:38 mark of the first round. "I could tell he was out, but he wouldnt drop," Diaz said. "Ive got to keep throwing to drop these fools. Maybe the ref shouldve stopped it earlier, I dont know." In the nights co-feature, Team Tate fighter Julianna Pena overwhelmed former world boxing champion Jessica Rakoczy of Hamilton en route to claiming the womens bantamweight tournament title. Pena rushed forward at the opening bell, walking through Rakoczys punches to get into a clinch and bring the fight to the floor. Once there, a relentless attack saw her move quickly to mount and unleash a dizzying barrage of punches and elbows from the top. Rakoczy tried desperately to escape the position but Pena was simply too much. Referee Mario Yamasaki watched the action closely, offering warnings along the way, and eventually waved off the fight with one second left in the first round. With the victory, Pena became the first female winner in "The Ultimate Fighter" series history and earned a six-figure UFC contract. "I figured she would go to her strengths and use angles and try to box me, but I didnt give her any space. I was relentless," Pena said after the win. "I never thought there would be women in the UFC, so to be the first female The Ultimate Fighter winner is amazing." In the mens tournament final, Chris Holdsworth (5-0) impressed in a second-round submission win over Davey Grant (8-2), also scoring a six-figure UFC contract in the process. Grant looked to be the stronger fighter to open, rattling off powerful punches that just missed their target. But a wiry Holdsworth pushed forward with counters and constantly looked to take the fight to the floor. Hed get his chance in the second round. After avoiding a few more powerful punches, Holdsworth changed levels and brought the fight to the floor before moving swiftly to the back in a crafty transition. Once there, he made use of the opportunity, immediately working for a rear-naked choke. While the first effort failed, a second attempt saw the arm slip under the neck, and the tap came at the 2:10 mark of the second frame. "If you chase your dreams, they will come true," Holdsworth said after the fight. "Daveys a family man and a role model, but tonight was my night." In the evenings opening matchup contestants Jessamyn Duke (3-0) and Raquel Pennington (4-3) each picked up clear-cut decision wins. Duke out-struck fellow Team Rousey fighter Peggy Morgan (2-1) over the course of their three-round affair, utilizing a crisp left hand to batter her opponents face for the entirety of the matchup. Despite boasting a reach advantage, Morgan struggled to find the target and was out-struck 123-34 according to a FightMetric report, and Duke earned the fight with scores of 30-27 on all three judges cards. "Getting this fight is a huge weight off my shoulders, and Im honoured to fight in the UFC," Duke said after the win. "I can finally share everything about this life-changing experience of being on The Ultimate Fighter." Meanwhile, Pennington didnt necessarily look to be clicking on all cylinders during her three-round clash with Roxanne Modaferri (15-11), but still did enough to pick up a convincing victory. Modafferi moved well throughout the contest, looking to create angles and avoid her opponents power. And while she attempted 218 strikes to her opponents 86, she landed only 22 per cent of her blows as opposed to Penningtons 60 per cent. In short, when Pennington pulled the trigger, she was successful. Although shell need to be more active in future appearances, Penningtons effort was enough to score a win, 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28. "Im happy with the win, but knowing my capabilities I didnt fight my best fight," Pennington said after the win. "I wasnt happy because I have very fast hands, and I didnt really display those. Maybe it was because of my nerves." Cheap Wizards Jerseys Free Shipping . Miller or Betances figures to take over the ninth-inning role next season.Im pretty confident in myself. I think I can get three outs at any point in the game, wherever that may be, Miller said during a telephone call with New York reporters. Whatever it is, its fine with me. I want to win. I want to shake hands and high five at the end of the game. If have to get two outs in the sixth, theres value in that. Were starting to finally understand that theres outs in the game that may be more important than the last three outs in the game in the ninth inning.Miller told teams during negotiations that his exact role wouldnt be a factor in his decision.I have no ego and Im ready to fill whatever role is necessary or fits best for the team, he said. So that certainly makes life easier. I dont know that thats the kind of thing that I can put a financial value on.Miller was 5-5 with a 2.02 ERA for Boston and Baltimore and held opponents to a .153 batting average this year. He averaged 14.87 strikeouts per nine innings, second in the major leagues behind Cincinnatis Aroldis Chapman (17.67) among pitchers who faced at least 50 batters. He made his big league debut at the original Yankee Stadium in August 2006, pitching a hitless eighth inning in Detroits 2-0 loss in the opener of a day-night doubleheader. Just 21 years old and only three months removed from college ball at North Carolina, Miller retired Melky Cabrera on a lineout to right, hit Craig Wilson with a pitch, got Johnny Damon to hit into a forceout and induced Derek Jeter to ground out.I think walking to that mound in that stadium is incredible, he said. • PITTSBURGH -- LeVeon Bells rehab from a sprained foot includes an exercise that requires the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back to pick up marbles with his toes. Colorado Avalanche Gear . "Nothing crazy," Bell said with a laugh. And, apparently, nothing serious either. While Bell will sit out Saturday nights exhibition game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a sprained right foot, the second-round pick isnt worried about the injury extending well into the regular season. "Ive already been healing real quick," Bell said Thursday. "As long as the process keeps going the way it is, I should be back pretty quick." Coach Mike Tomlin declined to put an exact timetable on Bells return but pointed to the fact surgery will not be required as an encouraging sign. Less than 72 hours after going down in the first quarter of a 24-13 loss to Washington, Bell can already put weight on it, though he did wear a walking boot into the locker room as a precaution. It beats the cast being worn by tight end Matt Spaeth, who is dealing with a more significant version of the same injury. Spaeth is out at least two months after tearing the Lisfranc ligament in his left foot. There are no such concerns for Bell, though the 48th overall pick in the draft is a bit mystified about his bumpy training camp. The 21-year-old was a workhorse last fall at Michigan State, leading the nation with 383 carries. His durability is one of the main reasons the Steelers drafted him as the heir apparent to replace departed Rashard Mendenhall. Instead hell watch from the sidelines for the second time in three weeks while Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman attempt to hold onto the starting job, at least temporarily. "It gets a little frustrating at times," Bell said. "Its something Im faced with. Ill fight through it." Just dont expect him to race through it. Though Tomlin called all signs around Bells prognosis "positive" hes not going to rush Bell out onto the field just to do it. "We dont have a long-range schedule," Tomlin said. "At this point, well treat it conservatively with rehabilitation." Its the correct diagnosis, even if its not one Bell wants to hear. He averaged more than 30 touches a game during his last two seasons at Michigan State, touching the ball an average of 23 times a game. Outside of the usual aches and pains, hes never had so much as an ingrown toenail. Now hes dealing with his third issues in as many weeks. He skipped the preseason opener against the New York Giants as a precaution after tweaking his left knee in practice. He aggravated the injury in practice but recovered in time to make his professional debut. It was one that turned into little more than an extended cameo. Bell carried four times for nine yards while working with the first team, his night ending shortly after he felt an opponent fall onto his leg while he was trying to push the pile forward. Bell remained in for one more play before heading to the sideline. When he took his cleats off, he couldnt even put his foot on the ground. An MRI revealed the sprain, though the Steelers sought out a second opinion to confirm that he wouldnt need surgery. "It was great news," Bell said. And a blessing of sorts. While stressing the knee was good enough to play against the Redskins, the downtime required by the sprained foot means the knee will be "100 per cent" whenever Bell is back on the practice field. "Its a long season," Bell said. "I would like to come back to where I can actually be able to play and not think about it. I want to make sure everythings comfortable so I can play the way I want to play." Dwyer, who ran for 68 yards on Monday night, will likely start against the Chiefs. Tomlin also held out hope that Isaac Redman will be ready to go after missing a week due to a stinger. The same goes for LaRod Stephens-Howling and the mild knee sprain that kept him out versus Washington. Whoever is in the backfield will be charged with getting the first team into the end zone. It hasnt happened yet, though Tomlin expects the starters to play a half -- if not more -- when Kansas City visits. ---- NOTES: Tight end Heath Miller, rehabbing from left knee surgery, remained noncommittal about when hell be able to return. MADRID, Spain -- Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals as Real Madrid completed its Champions League last 16 thrashing of Schalke with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday. Madrid breezed into the quarterfinals after winning 9-2 on aggregate following its 6-1 first-leg victory in Germany. The Spanish leaders progress was never in doubt as coach Carlo Ancelotti rotated his squad, with Gareth Bale forced off the bench early when Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez injured his right knee two minutes in at the Santiago Bernabeu. Bale played a key role in the victory, feeding Ronaldo for the 21st-minute opener before Schalke defender Tim Hoogland equalized from a shot deflected beyond Iker Casillas. Ronaldo scored his 13th goal of the competition with an individual effort before Alvaro Morata struck Madrids third from Bales pass in the 75th. The victory extended Madrids unbeaten run to 31 games in all competitions ahead of Sundays Spanish league showdown with Barcelona. Also Tuesday, Chelsea beat Galatasaray 2-0 to reach the quarterfinals with a 3-1 aggregate victory, keeping alive the possibility of Madrid coming up against former coach Jose Mourinho. "I think all of the best teams have won their series, although there can be some surprises," Ancelotti said, with the quarterfinals draw coming on Friday. "Whoever we draw, its going to be difficult." Jese exited after Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac barged into the back of the Madrid winger, leaving him on the turf in visible pain. Ancellotti said Jese had ruptured his cruciate ligament, leaving him unlikely to return this season. Mark Barberio Jersey. . Bale swiftly added to the attack as Morata threaded a ball onto his run into the area and the Welshman picked out the inrushing Ronaldo to beat Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann. Madrids intensity soon slackened, and the visitors took advantage of the dip in the 31st as Julian Drexler started a break that eventually finished with Hooglands shot from outside the area deflecting off Sergio Ramos foot around goalie Iker Casillas. "The team reacted well, the performance was good," Schalke coach Jens Keller said through a translator. "But the minute Real Madrid has an opportunity, they can convert it into goal." Bale lost control at the halfway line in the 74th but Ronaldo skipped onto the loose ball and headed straight for Schalkes goal, twisting and turning defender Joel Matip before closing the run with a clinical finish from the edge of the area. Ronaldo didnt look done as he found the crossbar in the ensuing minute, with the rebound falling to Bale to unselfishly pass back for Morata to net after the Madrid striker had missed a number of early scoring chances. Ronaldo, who then found the post after that, moved within one goal of the record 14 scored by Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Jose Altafini of AC Milan in a single campaign of Europes top-tier competition. Ronaldo also equaled club great Ferenc Puskas mark of 242 goals with his brace. cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseyscheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '

Damian Lillard had a career-high 43 points, LaMarcus Aldridge scored 32 and the Blazers pulled away in the third overtime to top the Spurs 129-119 on Friday night. Lillard hit game-tying 3-pointers in regulation and the first overtime and scored nine of Portlands 17 points in the third overtime as the Blazers wrapped up their fourth consecutive win. I was really proud of the way we kept competing, said Portland coach Terry Stotts. Obviously it helps to make some big shots, but there was a lot of trust in moving the ball. Cory Joseph hit a tying shot in the second OT for San Antonio, which became the first NBA team in 63 years to play in consecutive three-overtime games. At least the 1951-52 Baltimore Bullets split theirs. The Spurs fell to Memphis 117-116 in Wednesdays triple-OT thriller, two days after the Blazers beat them in Portland. The whole teams effort, Im just really proud of them, said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. They did a great job under tough circumstances. The three-game losing streak for the reigning NBA champions is their longest since a three-game slide Jan. 26-29. Tim Duncan had a season-high 32 points and Danny Green added 27 for the Spurs, who lost despite starting the first two overtimes on 6-0 runs. In the initial overtime, they scored just one more point over the next 2 1/2 minutes. Lillards tying 3-pointer came after Wesley Matthews missed a 3 and Aldridge got the offensive rebound, kicking it back to Lillard at the point. But the Spurs tied it when Joseph rattled in a baseline leaner at the other end. Matthews missed a 3 off the back of the rim at the buzzer with a chance to win it, but the Blazers scored 11 straight points to start the third overtime to pull away. It was the largest lead by either team since the Spurs 11-point advantage in the second quarter. Earlier, after Lillard missed a dunk off the back of the rim with Duncan in his face, the Spurs took a 97-95 lead with 5.7 seconds left in regulation on Greens 3 from in front of the Portland bench. But Lillard tied the score at the other end by dribbling past Green off an inbounds pass and getting a layup to drop with Duncan there again. The Spurs, with 1.4 seconds to work with, were unable to win in regulation after Greens 3 at the buzzer was blocked by Lillard on the high right side. Game Notes Aldridge had 16 rebounds while Duncan and Green both pulled down 10 ... Matthews scored 16 points ... Joseph had 10 points and seven assists ... Denver can take the division this week by defeating San Diego on "Thursday Night Football," coupled with a Kansas City loss at Oakland on Sunday. The Broncos, who have already clinched at least a wild card berth, can also lock up a first-round bye on the AFC side of things by topping the Chargers and hoping for losses by the Chiefs and Cincinnati, which plays at Pittsburgh on Sunday. "Our goal every year is to win the division No. 1, and obviously (if you) you win your division youre in the playoffs," said Broncos coach John Fox, who returned to the sidelines against Tennessee last week for the first time since undergoing a heart procedure on Nov. 4. "Thats still our goal, always has been our goal and we still have three games and on a short week we got a division opponent coming to our place." Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning continued his run toward a record fifth MVP award with 397 yards and four touchdown passes as Denver ripped off 24 consecutive points en route to a convincing 51-28 decision over the Titans in Week 14. It was Mannings NFL-record seventh four-touchdown game this season and the high-powered Broncos also became the first team in NFL history to have four different players score at least 10 touchdowns in one season (running back Knowshon Moreno, receivers Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker, along with tight end Julius Thomas). Manning set a single-game club record with 39 completions on a personal-record 59 attempts for the 11-2 Broncos, who maintained their one-game edge over the Chiefs in the AFC West as well as a one-game lead over New England for the top spot in the conference overall. "We had a good plan," said Manning. "I thought we threw the ball well and guys caught the ball well." Kicker Matt Prater also set a record of his own, converting a 64-yard field goal, the longest in league history. "I knew I hit it pretty good," said Prater. "I wasnt sure with the cold and everything if it was going to make it. Then I saw the refs hands go up, and I cant even explain how I felt after." Before Praters record kick, Tom Dempsey (1970), ex-Bronco Jason Elam (1998), Sebastian Janikowski (2011) and David Akers (2012) held a share of the previous mark at 63 yards. Eric Decker led a stacked receiving corps against the Titans with 117 yards and a score on eight catches, while Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas added a TD grab apiece in the rout as Denver tied an NFL record by posting its third 50-plus-point effort of the season, matching the 1969 Minnesota Vikings. Moreno led the rushing attack thanks to 78 yards on 14 carries as the Broncos also set a club record for points in a single season with their Sunday total boosting their overall mark to 515. Meanwhile, the 91 plays executed against Tennessee were the most for the franchise in a non-overtime contest. The one down note was the fact that Welker, who posted 61 yards and a touchdown on five catches, did not return after halftime due to a concussion. San Diego hasnt been nearly as spectacular this season but remains in the hunt for the final postseason berth in the AFC after Philip Rivers got the better of Eli Manning once again, tossing three touchdown passes to lead the Chargers to a much-needed 37-14 victory over the New York Giants at Qualcomm Stadium in Week 14. Rivers completed a crisp 21-of-28 attempts for 249 yards without an interception in the one-sided win, which kept San Diego (6-7) a game back of Baltimore and Miami in the race for the final wild card spot in the AFC with three games to play. Rookie star Keenan Allen was on the receiving end of two of Rivers scoring strikes, while Ryan Mathews ran for a touchdown and compiled 103 yards on 29 carries. "Were one game back with three weeks to go," said Rivers of the AFC playoff picture. "Lets go and see what happens." Manning, traded for Rivers on the day of the 2004 NFL Draft after originally being chosen by San Diego with the No. 1 overall pick, was intercepted twice while managing 259 yards and a touchdown on 20-of-32 passing against the team he balked at playing for while still a college prospect. The Chargers have now won all three meetings between the clubs since both quarterbacks entered the league. "The passion of our football team was there today," said Chargers head coach Mike McCoy. "An outstanding team effort." Denver leads the all-time series with a 58-48-1 mark and has won four straight over the Chargers, including a 28-20 triumph in SSan Diego back on Nov. Cheap Nike Warriors Jerseys. 10 when Demaryius Thomas caught three TD passes from Manning and the Broncos defense recorded four sacks. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Denver has won 10 consecutive games against AFC West opponents since Manning arrived in the Rockies and the club will be attempting to match the franchise record with its 11th straight victory in divisional play against the Chargers. "Youre just putting your focus as far as your game preparation on the practice field (and) in the meeting rooms," Fox said when asked about the streak. "We stress preparation one day at a time getting better every day. Weve put together a pretty good group and thats whats helped. All our focus right now is just on San Diego." Its all about the offense with the Broncos and that starts with Manning, who has already thrown for a team-record 45 touchdowns this year, a total that already ties for the fifth most in NFL history for a single season with three games to go. The smartest and most studious signal caller in the game leads an offense that averages 39.6 points per game, 6.3 yards per play, 465.6 yards per contest and has a 48.2 third-down conversion rate, all first in all of football. The fact that Denver has already set the record with four players who have 10 or more TDs on the season should tell you all you need to know about Mannings ability to spread the ball around and have everyone involved, a trait which makes it incredibly difficult on opposing defenses. "There is a progression to each play but the credit goes to the receivers for running full-speed routes," Manning said. "When you run full-speed routes youre going to have a chance to get open. I think because they know we spread the ball around, guys are expecting the ball and that makes a big difference in how they run their routes. Im trying to get the ball to those guys, get it in their hands and give them a chance to make plays." The Chargers offense isnt the Broncos and Rivers isnt Manning but both are very good. San Diego is averaging 400.5 ypg (fourth in the NFL), 6.1 yards per play (third) and also has a 48.2 third-down success mark (a tick behind Denver and second in the NFL), while Rivers has thrown for 3,882 yards, 26 TDs and a 106.4 passer rating compared to Mannings 4,522 (the most ever through 13 games), 45 and 114.5. In fact if it werent for Manning, Rivers may have even gotten some MVP consideration, thats how well he has played this season. "He definitely is a different quarterback," Broncos CB Chris Harris said when discussing Rivers. "Hes not forcing the ball and hes taking the check down to short passes other than the deep pass more. Thats something that (San Diego first-year coach and former Denver offensive coordinator) Mike McCoy has definitely brought to them. Take the easy throw and dont take the difficult one." The one glaring difference between the two teams is the lack of red-zone production for the Chargers. San Diego has a 52.1 percentage when inside the 20, just 22nd in the NFL, while Denver is at 79.0 percent, No. 1 overall. Thats why the Broncos are at nearly 40 ppg and the Chargers score just 24.3 (11th in football) despite their production in between the 20s. The trump card is Mannings playmakers. As mentioned Denver already has a record four players with 10 or more TDs with Decker threatening to join that group. Rivers biggest weapon outside the numbers is a rookie third-round pick in Allen. "We know when we played Denver the last time they made some plays," Chargers CB Richard Marshall said. "There were a couple plays that we had out there that we should have made, but we didnt make. We know that Peyton is a good quarterback, and we know they have some good receivers over there. So weve just got to practice hard, and make our plays when the plays come." OVERALL ANALYSIS McCoy knows Manning better than most after spending 2012 as the offensive coordinator in Denver but that extra knowledge probably just keeps him up at night. San Diego is the far more desperate team coming in and that might keep the Chargers competitive for a stretch but expect the Broncos, who are a perfect 7-0 on their home field, to pull away in the second half. "Its a challenge for both teams," Manning said of the short week. "(It takes) real discipline by each player to get themselves physically ready to play. "We put emphasis on the division games. There is familiarity with players and with schemes and it does make it tough to prepare but I think our guys have done a good job preparing for these division games. It doesnt guarantee anything but it does give you a better chance." cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseyscheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '

    • WASHINGTON -- For nearly four years, Washington Capitals fans have watched video clips of Evgeny Kuznetsov playing in Russia and imagined what he could do in the NHL. Cheap Nike 76ers Jerseys . On Friday night, Kuznetsov began compiling the North American version of his greatest hits -- posting three assists for his first NHL points in the Capitals 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Kuznetsov assisted during a power play as countryman Alex Ovechkin finished with a slap shot for his NHL-leading 45th goal. Less than five minutes later, Kuznetsov faked a slap shot from the wing and fed the puck to Tom Wilson for his third goal. In the third period, Kuznetsov started a sequence that led to Mike Green putting the Capitals ahead for good with 9:41 left. Green scored with a slap shot off a feed from Nicklas Backstrom from behind the net. "(Kuznetsov) did a great job battling down the corner and keeping control of the puck," said Green, who scored his ninth goal. "He made a great play to Nicky, and I noticed when Nicky was wheeling the net that he saw me before he even looked up." It was the third NHL game for Kuznetsov, the Capitals first-round pick in the 2010 draft. He signed with Washington last week after five years in Russias Kontinental Hockey League. "You get your first point on the power play, which is kind of an easy point, but it still counts," Washington coach Adam Oates said. "You get your juices going. Great play on the second goal, and then protecting the puck on a cycle (on the third goal), which is kind of something you dont necessarily expect." Kuznetsov played on Washingtons fourth line with fellow rookie Wilson and Jay Beagle, who contributed an assist. "He is such a creative player and a lot of fun to play with," Wilson said. "The first couple of games he wasnt sure, and hes really finding his groove. Hopefully we can have some chemistry for years to come." Kuznetsovs performance helped the Capitals forget the 12th time this season theyve blown a two-goal advantage. Washington led 3-1 early in the third period before Shawn Matthias and Nicklas Jensen scored for Vancouver to tie it. The goal by Jensen, a rookie playing in his sixth game, was the first of his NHL career. "I just felt we were just going to keep on coming," Vancouver coach John Tortorella said. "Theyve given up some leads here. We got that third one, I thought we were just going to take off. We had some chances." Vancouver outshot Washington 41-21, but the Capitals killed all seven Canucks power plays. Jaroslav Halak made 38 saves in his fourth start with the Capitals. "He had a fantastic night," Oates said. "We left him hanging." Jordan Schroeder scored Vancouvers first goal, and Chris Higgins and Christopher Tanev both had two assists. Eddie Lack stopped 17 shots as Vancouver fell to 3-12-1 in its last 16 games. "Its frustrating. I thought we played really well all game," Matthias said. "To tie it up there and let that happen, its upsetting." The night got off to a difficult start for the Canucks, whose bus broke down. Players then took cabs to the arena. Joel Ward opened the scoring for Washington, but the second period belonged to Kuznetsov. "Hes sort of got that young mentality where you know youre not afraid to make a play and do these things that youre capable of," Green said. "Hes going to be a great player." Lee might be able to return as soon as hes eligible to come off the DL, general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said late Tuesday. "Its never good news when you lose one of your No. 1 pitchers, but its pretty mild," Amaro said. When Lee underwent an MRI on Tuesday in Philadelphia, there were concerns the left-hander might become the latest major league pitcher to be sidelined by a serious injury. More than a dozen have already have undergone Tommy John elbow surgery this year, including All-Stars Jose Fernandez, Patrick Corbin, Josh Johnson and Matt Moore. "The Tommy John thing is not what it is," Lee said. "That was good." Lee pitched 6 2-3 innings in a win over Cincinnati on Sunday. He said his elbow began to bother him after he threw a career-high 128 pitches in an 11-hit, complete-game loss against the Braves on April 16. "After the game it was pretty sore," he said. • Toronto FC officially unveiled English international striker Jermain Defoe and U. Authentic Maxime Lajoie Jersey .S. international midfielder Michael Bradley as its latest designated players on Monday morning in front of a boisterous crowd of supporters. Defoe, a 31-year-old striker, comes over from Tottenham Hotspur on a transfer believed to be somewhere in the neighbourhood of $10.8 million to $14.4 milion and an average yearly salary of a reported $8.3 million. Bradley, 26, heads to Toronto from Roma for a reported fee of $10 million and a salary of $7.1 million. "To acquire a star midfielder like Michael Bradley, seen by many as the top American player in the world, alongside Jermain Defoe, makes this a groundbreaking day for Toronto FC and for Major League Soccer," said Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment president and CEO Tim Leiweke of the clubs signings. A visibly emotional Leiweke said that the investment came down to one question that the team had to ask. "Why cant we be great?" he added. "We didnt win anything today, but we created a great opportunity." Defoe, who will return to Spurs on loan until Feb. 28, spoke highly of the reception hes received so far in Toronto and spoke of his desire to hit the ground running. "I feel at home already," he said. "As players, all you want to do is put your boots on, get out there and let your football do the talking...I feel blessed and honoured and Im looking forward to it so much." Asked if a place on Englands 2014 World Cup squad weighed in on his decision to come to North America, Defoe admitted that playing time was his primary concern. "Its important to be playing," he explained. "To get into a World Cup or European Cup squad, its based on merit...if selected, Ill be ready." Bradley, whose unveiling was not previously advertised by the club, returns to MLS for the first time since 2005. "I have never been more excited, and more motivated, for any challenge in my career," he said. "What theyre trying to build here in really special, something really unique and different from anywhere else in MLS and North American soccer." The team also announced that working agreements were in place with both Spurs and Roma that would result in both friendlies being played in Toronto and a player exchange with Roma that will result in Toronto FC players training with Roma. With Defoe and Bradley in the fold, Toronto FCs number of designated players stands at four - one more than the league-allowed three. The Scuderias performance had been encouraging all weekend prior to a qualifying session Mercedes once again dominated, while even Red Bull finished ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Vettel in Barcelona.I dont think it was a general lack of speed, Vettel, who admitted to making mistakes on his final flying lap, said. In all sessions so far we have been quite competitive. It was as much of a surprise for us as it was for you. Hamilton fastest as Red Bulls impressIts something we dont yet understand. Im sure theres a reason for it. Something changed, the conditions, something made us fall out of the window compared to the other cars.We lost quite a lot of competitiveness in comparison. Despite a renewed sense of optimism ahead of the season, Ferrari have yet to trouble Mercedes in 2016 and have been blighted by reliability concerns and first-lap contact. Neither could be an excuse on Saturday though, and they have not beaten their rivals since last Septembers Singapore GP.Qualifying in particular seems to be a problem for the Italian outfit, but they did not expect to be beaten to the second row by Daniel Ricciardo and Red Bull debutant Max Verstappen. But Vettel seemed confident when asked just why the Renault-powered RB12 was quicker than the Ferraris at the Circuit de Catalunya. • CARSON, Calif. Authentic Chris Webber Jersey . -- Joao Plata scored in the 80th minute, Nick Rimando stopped Robbie Keanes penalty kick in stoppage time and Real Salt Lake opened with a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night in Jeff Cassars head coaching debut for the Utah club. "Feels great," said Cassar, a long-time Real Salt Lake assistant coach who took charge after Jason Kreis left to become head coach at New York City FC, which is aiming for a 2015 inaugural season. "What Im most excited about is the fight that the team had. We came in at halftime and just said, Relax, 0-0, exactly where we want to be, and the energy level, the effort, in the second half was just fantastic." Plata, open in the middle of the Galaxy box, scored off Kyle Beckermans pass four minutes after Luke Mulhollands apparent goal was ruled offside. Keane, the Galaxy captain, had a chance to tie the score in the 93rd minute after Tony Beltran undercut Rob Friend as he leaped for a long ball from Omar Gonzalez. Rimando, who included several spectacular stops among his nine saves, dived to his right to deny Keane at the post. "Today was one of those days the ball seemed a little bigger," Rimando said. "I knew what Keane was going to do. He likes to stutterstep, but I stood my ground and just reacted." Keane hit the right post and Landon Donovan was denied on a 1-on-1 opportunity in the first half for Los Angeles, which had a 27-9 advantage in shots. "We had some good chances, we didnt finish any of our chances, and the penalty at the end of the game," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. "What can you say? Those are wasted chances. We should have gotten at least a point out of this game." The game was a rematch of a Western Conference semifinal series last year that was one by RSL, which fell to Sporting Kansas City in the MLS Cup final. Authentic Peja Stojakovic Jersey . -- Houstons All-Star tandem of James Harden and Dwight Howard refused to let the Rockets give in to fatigue. Authentic Mitch Richmond Jersey . The deal carries an annual average value of $2 million. Roussel will earn $1.6 million in 2013-14 and will get a $200,000 raise in each subsequent year of the contract. • AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Authentic Kyle Turris Jersey . -- Oakland had a chance to upset No. 5 Michigan State on Saturday. It just couldnt keep up with the Spartans on the glass. Duke Mondy scored 24 points, but the Golden Grizzlies were outrebounded by nine during a 67-63 loss to Branden Dawson and Michigan State. "There are no moral victories here at Oakland," coach Greg Kampe said, thanking Tom Izzo for scheduling his team. "We passed that point of being close long ago. We were close again and just couldnt beat them." Mondy, the nations leader in steals, had seven swipes for the Golden Grizzlies (2-9). Travis Bader, who grew up in the shadows of Michigan State, had 18 points and Corey Petros added 11 for Oakland, winless in 12 games in the series. I had seven steals?" Mondy said. "I didnt even know that. I have great anticipation. Im not a gambler, but I like to gamble sometimes." Bader went 4 for 14 from long range to move within 56 3-pointers of J.J. Redicks NCAA record, drawing rave reviews from Izzo. "I love that kid," Izzo said of Bader, the son of his former director of basketball operations. "I grew up with that kid, and he grew up with me. If ever a kid deserves success, its him. I hope he breaks the record." Izzo had no idea how Dawson would play after he challenged the enigmatic forward following a disappointing effort against North Carolina. He got the answer he was looking for in a home game for Oakland at The Palace. Dawson had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the short-handed Spartans (8-1), who were rusty and turnover-prone after a 10-day break. "I thought Dawson really responded today," Izzo said. "I got after him pretty good." Dawson took only two shots and had two turnovers in 17 minutes during Michigan States 79-65 home loss to the Tar Heels on Dec. 4. It was a much different story against the Golden Grizzlies, with Dawson going 7 for 13 from the field and blocking three shots in 36 minutes. "There was a different mindset and definitely a different approach," Dawson said. "Id just had one of the worst games since Ive been here against North Carolina. So the guys all pushed me, and Coach talked to me." Keith Appling scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half for the Spartans, and Adreian Payne had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Michigan State played without leading scorer Gary Harris, who is nursing an ankle injury. The Spartans also were without big men Matt Costello (mononucleosis) and Kenny Kaminski (academic suspension). The Golden Grizzlies jumped to a 20-12 lead, taking advantage of the Spartans sloppiness. Oakland had four assists on its first five baskets, while Michigan State was recording one assist and committing seven turnovers. "The start they had kept them in the game," Izzo said. "If wed gotten them down early, maybe some of those losses theyve had wouldve mounted." Michigan State managed to rally for a 35-31 lead early in the second half on two jumpers by Appling. But Oakland wouldnt go away. Baders third 3 tied it at 50 with 7:44 to play. He was 4 for 14 from long range. An Appling 3 and a Bader turnover helped Michigan State take a five-point advantage, its largest of the day to that point. Another Bader turnover and a layup and free throw by Appling built the cushion to 58-50 and seemed to create some daylight. "They were just so physical," Kampe said. "A couple of our bigger backups are out for the season, and we just dont have the size to match them. We werent physical enough, and Dawson had his way down in there." The Golden Grizzlies closed to 60-56 with 2:42 left. But Travis Trice hit a 3 at the end of the shot clock to give the Spartans a seven-point edge. Cheap Nashville Predators Gear ... as usual. Even with the salary cap being set lower than many general managers expected and hoped for at $69 million and whats considered a shallow pool of top-end players available, this unrestricted-free-agent period figures to follow the familiar script of teams bidding up prices to keep up with each other. Authentic Anthony Bitetto Jersey .S. - Nova Scotias Mary Fay guaranteed at least one more match and a shot at the Canadian junior curling championships final on home ice.Baltimore Ravens 1 (17) - C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama; 2 (48) - Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State; 3 (79) - Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State; 3 (99) - Crockett Gilmore, TE, Colorado State; 4 (134) - Brent Urban, DT, Virginia; 4 (138) - Lorenzo Taliaferro, RB, Coastal Carolina; 5 (175) - John Urschel, OG, Penn State; 6 (194) - Keith Wenning, QB, Ball State; 7 (218) - Mike Campanaro, WR, Wake Forest Top Picks Analysis: Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome is regarded as one of the best talent evaluators in football and he shined again this year, bolstering the interior of the front seven by snaring a pair of first-round talents in the opening two rounds, Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley at No. 17 overall and Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan with the 48th selection. The Ravens have been lacking a bit in the middle since losing Ray Lewis to retirement and Dannell Ellerbe to free agency after winning Super Bowl XLVII. Mosley, an instinctive read-and-react linebacker, should hit the ground running next to veteran Daryl Smith. "Hes such a solid football player," NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said when discussing Mosley. "There are some concerns about his shoulder, but he was medically cleared by just about every team. Hes a plug-and-play linebacker in a 3-4 defense. He pursues sideline to sideline. This is a typical Baltimore Ravens solid football player." Jernigan, fell a bit due to a diluted urine sample at the NFL Scouting Combine. He is regarded as a pure three-technique, however, so he may not be a great fit for the 3-4 but he had too much talent for Newsome to pass up. Jernigans teammate with the Seminoles, third-round safety Terrence Brooks, was a solid pick at a position of need and he will be given every opportunity to start opposite Matt Elam next season. The teams other third-round choice, Colorado State tight end Crockett Gilmore, is the pure in-line tight end needed to complement Dennis Pitta and free agent acquisition Owen Daniels. Best Value Pick: Wake Forest wide receiver Mike Campanaro was a nice roll of the dice in the final round. Campanaro is a pure slot receiver who could be something if he pays more attention to detail while running routes. Questionable Calls: As noted Jernigan projects as a pure three-technique and just doesnt have the mass to play inside at nose tackle in Dean Pees 3-4 nor the length to turn into a real option as a five-technique. Summary: More often than not Newsomes moves smack of common sense and with the exception of the Jernigan pick, that was the case again this time around. The Ravens added a potential difference maker at inside linebacker and a prospective starter at safety. If they can figure out how to harness Jernigans natural skills in their scheme, this should turn out to be a home run. FINAL GRADE: B Undrafted rookie free agent signings: LB Zach Orr, North Texas; WR Darius Bell, UCLA; WR Jeremy Butler, Tennessee-Martin; OT James Hurst, North Carolina; DT Derrick Hopkins, Virginia Tech; DT Jamie Meder, Ashland; LB Terrance Bullitt, Texas Tech; DL A.J. Pataialii, Utah State; CB Sammy Seamster, Middle Tennessee State; OT Brett Van Sloten, Iowa; LB Xavius Boyd, Western Kentucky; TE Jake Sinkovec, Boston College; WR Jace Davis, Northern Colorado; LB Xavius Boyd, Western Kentucky; OL Parker Graham, Oklahoma State; P Richie Leone, Houston; WR Jerry Rice Jr., UNLV; RB Fitzgerald Touissant, Michigan; DE D.J. Roberts, Tennessee-Martin; OL Ryan Jones, San Jose State S Dexter Moody, Albany State Cincinnati Bengals 1 (24) - Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State; 2 (55) - Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU; 3 (88) Will Clarke, DE, West Virginia; 4 (111) Russell Bodine, OC, North Carolina; 5 (164) - A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama; 6 (212) - Marquis Flowers, OLB, Arizona; 7 (239) - James Wright, WR, LSU; 7 (252) - Lavelle Westbrooks, CB, Georgia Southern Top Pick Analysis: The Bengals had a very productive draft, standing pat at No. 24 and landing what some believe was the best cornerback in the draft, Michigan State press-corner star Darqueze Dennard. Beefing up the cornerback position was a key for Cincy because Leon Hall is coming off an Achilles injury and Terence Newman will be 36 by next season. The Bengals were on to something last year at running back by teaming the explosive Giovani Bernard with chain-mover BenJarvus Green-Ellis. The "Law Firm" will be 29 in July, however, so Cincinnati snared his heir apparent in the second round, LSU 235-pounder Jeremy Hill. Third-round defensive end Will Clarke, meanwhile, had the length the Bengals are looking for and will help replace Michael Johnson, who fled to Tampa Bay in free agency. Best Value Pick: Offensive lineman Russell Bodine, a fourth-round choice out of North Carolina, can play all three interior positions and could eventually push Trevor Robinson at center. Questionable Calls: The Bengals have made the playoffs for three consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history, a run that began with the arrival of Andy Dalton at the quarterback position. The "Red Rifle" hasnt been able to get it done in the postseason, however, and until he does the pressure will continue to mount. Getting high-profile Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, who many had rated as a potential second- or third-round choice, in the fifth round may seem like a prudent move but it could also turn up some unnecessary heat on Dalton. Summary: Its rare you can get a talent like Dennard at a need position with the 24th pick so that will help immensely. Cincinnati followed that with a number of logical choices and the McCarron pick could even prove fruitful down the line FINAL GRADE: B+ Undrafted rookie free agent signings: WR Alex Neutz, Buffalo; DL/FB Nikita Whitlock, Wake Forest; FB Ryan Hewitt, Stanford; RB James Wilder Jr. Authentic Dan Hamhuis Jersey. , Florida State; G Trey Hopkins, Texas; TE Colin Lockett, San Diego State; OL Kevin Palmer, Baylor; S Isaiah Lewis, Michigan State; OL Dan France, Michigan State; RB Jeff Scott, Ole Miss; OT Curtis Feigt, West Virginia University; DE James Davidson, UTEP Cleveland Browns 1 (8) - Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State; 1 (22) - Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M; 2 (35) - Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada; 3 (71) - Christian Kirksey, OLB, Iowa; 3 (94) - Terrance West, RB, Towson; 4 (127) Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood Top Picks Analysis: Trader Ray certainly made his money on draft weekend. First-year Browns general manager Ray Farmer moved up and down three different times in the opening round, eventually snaring Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert and Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, as well as a 2015 first-round pick from Buffalo. The good news is that Gilbert could be he best cornerback in the draft and should team with Joe Haden to give the Browns an impressive presence on the edges of their defense, while Manziel could be the answer at the games most important position and is certainly an exciting face for the franchise. The bad news is that by trading out of the No. 4 spot Farmer passed up on two of the four real blue-chip prospects in the is draft -- Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins and Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack -- and the team is also on the verge of losing superstar receiver Josh Gordon for the entire 2014 season due to a drug suspension. Offensive lineman Joel Bitonio of Nevada was the teams second-round pick and could solidify the right guard position or kick out to right tackle eventually. A pair of third-rounders -- inside linebacker Christian Kirksey of Iowa and running back Terrance West -- should also be contributors. Questionable Calls: Passing on Watkins when Cleveland.com reported that several members of the organization knew about Gordons impending suspension for at least a week borders on malpractice. The fact that Cleveland went through the entire draft -- perhaps the deepest WR draft in 20 years -- without taking a receiver is malpractice. "I would tell the fans that are in panic mode because we didnt draft a wide receiver is that patience really tells the tale," Farmer said. "There are plenty of opportunities for us to address what everyone would believe is a need but in our opinion, there is plenty of opportunity to add players, to change the roster and to really make a difference." Summary: Farmer deserves plenty of credit for pilfering the Bills for what could be a top-10 pick next year and if Manziel solidifies the QB position, this draft will be judged a success no matter what. That said, revisionist history cant mask the poor decision-making Farmer and the Browns exhibited in the wake of the Gordon news. FINAL GRADE: C+ Undrafted rookie free agent signings: WR Willie Snead, Ball State; WR Chandler Jones, San Jose State; WR Kenny Shaw, Florida State; FB Ray Agnew, Southern Illinois; QB Connor Shaw, South Carolina; LB Carlo Calabrese, Notre Dame; RB Isaiah Crowell, Alabama State; TE Blake Jackson, Oklahoma State; QB Corey Robinson, Troy; LB Christo Lisika, South Nazarene; OL Anthony Dima, UMass; DL Calvin Barnett, Oklahoma State; S Jacques Washington, Iowa State; LB Greg Blair, Cincinnati; S Jason Hendricks, Pittsburgh; LB Alex Bazzie, Marshall; S Nickoe Whitey, Mississippi State; WR Jonathan Krause, Vanderbilt; OT Michael Philipp, Oregon State; DT Jacobbi McDaniel, Florida State; DB KWuan Williams, Pittsburgh; WR Gerald Ford, Valdosta State; WR Taylor Gabriel, Abilene Christian; S Robert Nelson, Arizona State Pittsburgh Steelers 1 (15) - Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio State; 2 (46) - Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame; 3 (97) - Dri Archer, RB, Kent State; 4 (118) - Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson; 5 (157) - Shaquille Richardson, CB, Arizona; 5 (173) - Wesley Johnson, OT, Vanderbilt; 6 (192) - Jordan Zumwalt, ILB, UCLA; 6 (215) - Daniel McCullers, DT, Tennessee; 7 (230) - Rob Blanchflower, TE, UMass Top Picks Analysis: The Steelers went all in on the front seven, snaring Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier at No. 15 overall, and following that up with Notre Dame five-technique Stephon Tuitt, a potential value in the second round. Shazier is lightning fast and projects as an all-around linebacker but he will probably need to be protected a bit by a nose tackle who can occupy multiple blockers. Tuitt was regarded as a top-15 talent heading into his junior season with the Fighting Irish but he had an injury-plagued season and was out of shape for much of it. If Tuitt can get his body back on track, Pittsburgh may have something. Third-round running back Dri Archer is a scatback with return ability and a nice complement to big bodies like LeVeon Bell and LeGarrette Blount. Best Value Pick: Daniel McCullers, the teams sixth-round choice out of Tennessee, is a massive defensive tackle who has the raw strength to be a two- down beast as long as he improves on his technique and develops more dedication to the game. Questionable Calls: The 15th overall slot was probably a bit too high for a player like Shazier, who the Steelers project inside. Hell need plenty of help from players like McCullers to keep opposing guards off of him at the second level. Summary: Pittsburgh needed to get younger and more athletic on defense and the team took steps in that direction although the top two choices both come with significant risk. FINAL GRADE: B- Undrafted rookie free agent signings: C Chris Elkins, Youngstown State; TE Eric Waters, Missouri; DE Josh Mauro, Stanford; LB Howard Jones, Shepherd; OL Will Simmons, East Carolina; QB Brendon Kay, Cincinnati; DL Ethan Hemer, Wisconsin; QB Terrance Owens, Toledo; S Jake DeMedal, St. Francis; DB Devon Carrington, Stanford; OT Kaycee Ike, Alabama-Birmingham; DT Roy Philon, Louisville cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '

    • MINNEAPOLIS - The boos were raining down on Kevin Love and his 3-pointer wasnt falling in the building he used to call home. Authentic Tyler Johnson Jersey .On nights like this in his six years in Minnesota, Love had no one to turn to for help. In Cleveland, he has LeBron James, and the best player in the world wasnt about to let his new teammate down on an emotional night.James scored 16 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter to win a stirring duel with rookie Andrew Wiggins, leading the Cavaliers to a 106-90 victory over the Timberwolves in Loves first game back in Minnesota since he was traded. It was all our responsibilities as his teammates and his brothers to protect him tonight, James said. Throughout anything, it was the uncertainty. He didnt know what to expect. He could lean on us throughout everything that happened today and for us we just had to go out there and help him get a win.Love finished with 14 points on 6-for-14 shooting and 17 rebounds. But he was just 1 for 5 on 3-pointers and was outshined by Wiggins, the headliner in the three-team deal that got Love out of Minnesota.Wiggins had 33 points and four steals for the Timberwolves (8-39), who gave Love and the Cavaliers all they could handle in front of a standing-room-only crowd.I love a big stage, Wiggins said. I love playing in the spotlight. A lot of fans. Big crowd.James kicked things into gear in the final nine minutes. He scored 13 straight for the Cavs, who have won 10 straight to improve to 29-20.Thaddeus Young scored 19 and Nikola Pekovic had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, but they were just 3-for-19 in the fourth quarter.Trailing by five early in the fourth, James responded by thundering to the rim for a dunk, hitting a 3-pointer, three free throws and another 3 over Wiggins outstretched hand to give the Cavs a 94-87 lead with five minutes to play.Love was traded to Cleveland in the blockbuster deal of the summer, bringing Wiggins, the No. 1 overall pick, Anthony Bennett and Young to Minnesota. Love made three All-Star teams as a Timberwolves forward, but they never made the playoffs. And he drew the fans hire by requesting a trade at the end of last season.Love was booed throughout the game, except for during a brief video tribute in the first quarter highlighting his six seasons in Minnesota. He exchanged hugs with Wolves owner Glen Taylor and his wife, Becky, and laughs with Pekovic and Wolves coach Flip Saunders during the game. He focused on those moments more than the booing when asked after the game.Truth be told, I thought it was a pretty good reception, especially from people with familiar faces, Love said. When the video was over, all the good will went out the window. Every touch of the ball was booed. Every missed shot was cheered as loudly as a dunk by Wiggins, who gave James everything he had. That included out-running him to a loose ball and throwing down a dunk to get a rare sellout crowd roaring. He showed tonight that hes got potential, that hes going to be a superstar in this league, Saunders said. He rises to the moment. Hes not afraid of the moment.TIP-INSCavaliers: Earlier in the week, the Timberwolves produced a tongue-in-cheek video touting the return of Mike Miller, who spent one season in Minnesota as a jab at Loves comeback. The second-tier Championship club admitted it had broken FA rules by signing French striker Marc-Antoine Fortune in July with the involvement of agent Willie McKay. • WINNIPEG -- No one was saying it was more than one or two lucky bounces. Josh Anderson Jersey . But St. Louis Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said his team definitely earned Kevin Shattenkirks power-play goal late in the third period that let them leave Winnipeg with a 2-1 win Tuesday. "It was a seeing-eye shot but, if you look at the shift, we out-fought for three pucks just to get that opportunity, which is what happened for the whole third period, which was really impressive," said Hitchcock. The win over the Jets at least helps make up for the three out of four the Blues (20-6-3) lost coming into Winnipeg. "As the game wore on, our confidence came back to fight for pucks and to battle," said Hitchcock. "I thought the debris from what happened here in the last week or so started to eliminate and we just started to get our spirit back." Bryan Little scored for the Jets (14-14-4), who started a little slow but more than held their own in the first period, outshooting the Blues by an 8-2 margin. It looked like Shattenkirks shot may have glanced off Little, among others, on the way into the Jets net. "It was disappointing, just because we worked to get back in the game and tied it up and then they get one that bounces off a couple of things and goes in . . . right at the end of the game," said Little, Winnipegs leading scorer with 13 goals and 28 points. "To lose that way is definitely frustrating." Alex Steen got things started in the second with the Blues first goal. He was behind the Winnipeg goal-line midway between the net and the boards at 4:44 when he slid a puck behind Ondrej Pavelec that banked off the Winnipeg goalie to put the Blues ahead 1-0. Pavelec was focusing on those in front of the net rather than the Blues leading sniper to his right. It was Steens 21st goal of the season. "It was a hard-fought game today, really tight net, both teams clogged neutral zones and D-zones," said Steen, who was born in Winnipeg and is the son of original Jet Thomas Steen, now a city councillor in his adopted hometown. "Both goalies played really well, it was a good game today, a fun game," said Steen. As for his shot, he shrugged it off. "I dont know. I try it every now and then in practice. Ive tried it a couple of times in games" Jets coach Claude Noel was disappointed with the loss but not unhappy with the way his team played the Blues. "I thought the game was a game that was chess-match played game really," he said. "Both teams were being patient, playing kind of the same way, knowing that one goal or two goals could win it. I thought we played a pretty good game other than the fact that we didnt finish the game the right way. They scored a seeing-eye power-play goal, what can you do?" Little evened things up just three minutes into the third period as he won a faceoff and then snapped a pass from linemate Andrew Ladd past Brian Elliott on a power-play, thanks to a tripping call against Vladimir Sobotka. • PITTSBURGH, Pa. Authentic Richard Panik Jersey . - Joe Durant is trying desperately to hold onto his old job on the PGA Tour. If it doesnt work out, his new gig is looking more promising all the time. The Champions Tour rookie shot a 6-under 64 on Thursday in the first round of the Senior Players Championship, making seven birdies against one bogey to join David Frost and Doug Garwood atop the leaderboard at defenceless Fox Chapel. Bernhard Langer, Corey Pavin, Larry Mize, Steve Pate, Olin Browne, Bart Bryant, Peter Fowler and Wes Short Jr. shot 65. Colin Montgomerie, the Senior PGA winner last month, opened with a 5-under 30 on the front nine before fading to a 69. The 50-year-old Durant, a four-time winner on the main tour, is trying to split time between both circuits this summer. The pressure to earn enough money while making limited PGA Tour starts has been draining. In a way, the 50-and-over tour is allowing him to recharge. "Im trying so hard to make magic happen in one week (on the PGA Tour) and its just not working out very well," Durant said. Durant tied for 31st last week in Connecticut in the PGA Tours Travelers Championship, a finish he believes should have been higher had he not slogged through the second and third rounds. "It easily could have been a top-10 week if I had just managed my game a little better Friday and Saturday," Durant said. There were no such issues Thursday. Durant holed out from the greenside bunker on the par-3 third, kick-starting his round. He ended it with a sliding left-to-right birdie putt on the par-5 18th for his 64, matching his best round since joining the Champions Tour after turning 50 in April. "It all comes down to making putts," Durant said. "If you make putts, the game is real easy. If youre burning edges, its not that easy." Frost and Garwood quickly joined Durant atop the leaderboard. Frustrated after a middling 39th-place finish at the Encompass Championship last week in Illinois, Frost ditched the shafts on his irons for the first time in four years, trading them in for something that offered a little more forgiveness. The move paid off with a near flawless round in which he missed only one fairway and three greens. "I almost want to kick myself for not (switching shafts) earlier," Frost said. Garwood, a two-time All-American during his college career at Fresno State, has finally found a home on the Champions Tour after spending most of his adult life on pro golfs fringe. He never played in a PGA Tour event and sold insurance among other things before trying to give the 50-and-over circuit a shot last spring. After some initial struggles, it is paying off handsomely. Garwood lost a playoff four weeks ago in the Principal Charity Classic and backed it up with a runner-up finish last weekend. Garwoods round included three straight birdies on Nos. 12-14, including a 35-footer on the par-4 14th. His birdie attempt on the 18th stopped one roll short of giving him the lead. Being near the lead is becoming familiar territory for Garwood, though he has done his best to downplay his steady rise. "Ive always believed the lower the expectation, the easier it is to meet," he said, laughing. "Theres enough pressure just being out there with all the hoopla. So I just go out and try to shoot my best ... trying to shoot 64, it just kind of happens." Defending champion Kenny Perry, looking for his fourth major title in the last year, failed to take advantage of the prime scoring conditions. Playing his eighth tournament in nine weeks, Perry shot an even-par 70. Perrys score was actually one better than the 71 he posted in the opening round last year. Perry responded last June by shooting a combined 20 under over the final 54 holes to edge Fred Couples and Duffy Waldorf for the first major pro title of his lengthy career. The 53-year-old Kentuckian, the Tradition winner last month in the first senior major of the year, doubted Fox Chapel would be as generous this time around, but with wide open fairways and damp greens, it wasnt a fair fight. More than half the 81 players finished at even par or better. "Its going to take a lot of birdies this week with the conditions as they are right now," Durant said. "Youve just got to keep the hammer down." Authentic Darcy Kuemper Jersey . A rainy day saw the former champion Djokovic handle 14th-seeded Frenchman Jo- Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) under the roof on the famed Centre Court. The brisk match came to a close in 1 hour, 52 minutes when the return-of-serve artist Djokovic smacked a cross-court, two-handed backhand winner that just caught the line to seal the deal. Djokovic popped 14 aces and was not broken in the bout, while Tsonga struck 19 aces, but was broken twice by the Serbian stalwart. The 27-year-old Djokovic has now won his last 18 sets against Tsonga, who also lost to the Serbian star in the 2008 Australian Open final. The recent French Open runner-up Djokovic titled here in 2011 and was last years Wimbledon runner-up to Murray. The Serb has reached at least the quarterfinals here six years running. His quarterfinal opponent will be Croat Marin Cilic. The third-seeded Murray reached a seventh straight Wimbledon quarterfinal by getting past 20th-seeded 6-foot-8 South African Kevin Anderson 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) in 2 hours, 33 minutes, also under the roof on Centre Court, as wet weather forced the issue on Day 7 of the fortnight. The roof was open when the match started and closed during the second set. "When it was outdoors, I played very well and was in a good position. When we came back indoors, he started to strike the ball a bit better, he started serving better," Murray said. "Its a good win because he was playing well at the end and making it very tough for me. Its good to get through in straight sets." The match was watched by the likes of Virgin tycoon Richard Branson, pop singer Cliff Richard and two-time 1970s Wimbledon finalist Ilie Nastase in a striking Romanian army uniform.
