    • Krasnaya Polyana, Russia (SportsNetwork. Buy Nike Air Max 270 Australia .com) - Darya Domracheva of Belarus secured her third gold medal of the Sochi Olympics Monday after gliding to victory in the womens 12.5-kilometer biathlon mass start competition. Domracheva, who won the 10-km pursuit and the 15-km individual race earlier in Sochi, turned in a time of 35 minutes, 25.6 seconds, besting Gabriela Soukalova of the Czech Republic by 20.2 seconds. Canadian Megan Imrie finished 28th with a time of 38:59. The reigning mass start world champion, Domracheva used her sharpshooting and swift skiing to create an insurmountable lead. She didnt miss a shot until her final stop, when she was well ahead of the pack. The 27-year-old Belarusian became the first female biathlete to win three golds at a single Winter Olympics. Norways Tiril Eckhoff, making her Olympic debut, finished 7.3 seconds after Soukalova to take bronze. American Susan Dunklee crossed the finish line in 36:57.9 to place 12th, marking the best ever finish by a U.S. woman in Olympic biathlon competition. The mens 15-km biathlon mass start, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, was postponed for the second straight day Monday due to dense fog in the area. The mens snowboard cross was also postponed from Monday to Tuesday. Air Max 270 Shop Australia .C. - Steve Clifford isnt exactly singing his teams praises after the Bobcats won for the sixth time in seven games. Cheap Air Max 270 Australia . -- D.A. Points was disqualified Friday from the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for using a training device while waiting to play the 18th hole at Pebble Beach.INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana took every shot Miami could muster Wednesday night. Then the Pacers threw a couple of their own punches — and put the two-time defending champs on the mat. Paul George scored 23 points, Roy Hibbert added 21 and Indiana rallied from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Heat 84-83, taking a three-game lead over Miami in the chase of the Eastern Conferences top seed. "Theyre the champs, theyre going to bring out the best in us," said David West, who made a 3-pointer with 50.2 seconds to go. "They bring out the best in anybody. I thought we just had enough fight." It was one of those rare grudge matches that actually lived up to the billing. Before the game, the teams chided one another with dueling comments. Afterward, nobody was ready to make up. And in between, the action got downright nasty. LeBron James needed a cotton swab in his nose to keep playing in the fourth quarter after getting whacked in the face. Dwyane Wade spent the final minute of the game icing his right hamstring. Pacers centre Roy Hibbert finished the game despite taking an elbow to the face that left him so groggy he didnt even remember getting hit. James and George both wound up taking spills into basket supports, and Lance Stephenson was ejected midway through the fourth quarter after picking up his second technical foul for celebrating a basket. The angry Stephenson waved his hand at the ref and after leaving the court, threw a towel and kicked a door. Coach Frank Vogel was not amused, saying he had a stern talk with his budding star guard before he went home. But it typified a rugged night for Miami (48-22). "It is what it is, they ref the game, we play it," James said. The NBAs best home team ended a two-game losing streak, took a 2-1 lead in the season series and now has the inside track to home-court advantage with just 10 games to play. And (52-20) Indiana still managed to do all of that on a night James seemed to be at his best. The four-time MVP finished with 38 points, eight rebounds, five assists, was 9 of 15 from the field and 14 of 15 from the free throw line. The problem: James also had six turnovers, Wade had six more turnovers and Miami managed only one basket over the final 3 miinutes, 23 seconds. Nike Australia Air Max 270. James and Bosh both missed late jumpers that would have given Miami the lead, the last an airball by Bosh from just right of the top of the key as time expired. "Unfortunately, that was what I diagramed," coach Erik Spoelstra said. "It probably wasnt the best call. It might have been a little too gunslinger on my part. I just wanted an open shot." They were so hard to come by Wednesday night that James was even called for a flagrant foul when he drove to the basket and sent the 7-foot-2, 290-pound Hibbert crashing to the ground. When Hibbert got up, he stumbled. Eventually he had to leave the court to change his blood-spattered jersey, but he refused to sit against the Heat. Hibbert dominated the first half yet again, scoring 17 points. But when the Heat decided to make things tough on Hibbert in the second half, George and his teammates took advantage. George spurred the first fourth-quarter run with two monster dunks — one over the hand of a trailing James — to get the Pacers back in the game. Later, it was Evan Turner, the trade deadline acquisition, who delivered two of Indianas biggest baskets of the night. The first came after James final turnover, on a breakaway layup. The second came courtesy of Mario Chalmers turnover out of bounds. When the middle of the court opened up, Turner bolted through a clear path for an 81-80 lead with 90 seconds to go. "I know how to get my space, Ive been doing that forever, you know what I mean?" Turner said, likely adding another spark to a rivalry that needs none. "Some of my moves Ive been doing since I was a little kid, so I can walk a pretty fine line when it comes to that." After Hibbert made 1 of 2 free throws, Turner scored on the layups, West hit the knockout 3 and all Miami got was a 3 from Bosh with 2.9 seconds left. "Theyre a tough team, psychologically against most teams they have the edge," West said. "Theyve got the best player in the game. Their pedigree, their entire organization, you understand what youre going to get." NOTES: Indiana has won its first back-to-back division titles since 1998-99 and 1999-2000. ... The Heat are now 7-8 in March. ... The Toronto Maple Leafs forward and Nashville Predators goaltender highlighted Mondays waiver transactions, with Calgarys Chuck Kobasew and Edmontons Philip Larsen also being placed on waivers. OKLAHOMA CITY -- The San Antonio Spurs never believed Serge Ibaka was out for the Western Conference finals, even after the Thunder said they expected him to miss the rest of the playoffs with a calf injury. Looks like the Spurs might have been on to something. The Thunder said Friday that their defensive standout now is day-to-day after his strained left calf showed improved movement and stability and a significant decrease in swelling. The Thunder have missed Ibaka badly as San Antonio has raced to a 2-0 lead in the series, and his possible return gives the Thunder hope as they prepare for Game 3 on Sunday in Oklahoma City. "His progress in the last several days has been surprising," Thunder general manager Sam Presti said. "I dont think any of us thought wed be standing here talking about this. Were grateful that we are." Well, maybe no one with the Thunder expected it. The Spurs certainly did. "We knew he would be back, and thats good," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Nobody would wish that on anybody to miss a playoff. Weve had guys miss playoffs before. Its obviously a downer. If he gets back in -- and Im sure he will, as Ive said from the beginning -- I think its great." Ibaka was injured in Game 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers, a Western Conference semifinals series-clinching win on May 15. He is averaging 12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in the playoffs while shooting 62 per cent from the field. Presti did not say if Ibaka would be available for Game 3, just that he could not be ruled out. Presti said he felt it best to be forthcoming with the change in the situation. "It would be convenient to not provide the information, and if he were ever healthy enough to play in a game, to release that an hour before the game," he said. "But in this case, we dont think that was the way to handle it, because previously, we had deemed him out. And we cant deem him out." Ibaka, a 6-foot-10 forward, led the league in blocked shots during the regular season and erased many of Oklahoma Citys defensive mistakes. Witthout having to deal with Oklahoma Citys primary rim protector, San Antonio scored 66 points in the paint on 67 per cent shooting in a 122-105 win in Game 1. Cheap Air Jordan 1 Nz. . The Spurs followed up with 54 points in the paint on 66 per cent shooting in a 112-77 blowout in Game 2. Ibaka also provides balance for Oklahoma Citys offence with his mid-range jumper and an ability to finish close to the hoop when defences focus on Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. "Big difference," Spurs guard Danny Green said. "Obviously, one of the best defensive players in the league. Alters everything around the basket, rebounds, and also, of course, he can knock down shots. So youve got to respect him. Hopefully, if he does come back hes not as fresh, hes a little rusty." San Antonio said it will not make adjustments based on the news. "Were going to try to do the same thing," Spurs guard Manu Ginobili said. "Its not like were going to change the game plan for him. For sure, hes going to give them another big body that can be a presence in the paint, block shots and make some jumpers, but our idea will be the same." Presti said Oklahoma Citys medical staff would like to see Ibaka go through game-like conditions before allowing him to return. So far, he has done low-impact training -- light drills and light shooting. Conditioning could be an issue and even if he returns its unclear how much he would play. "Were still focusing on trying to beat the Spurs without him playing," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "That has not changed. I know hes listed as day-to-day, but he is out until Im told differently." Thunder centre Kendrick Perkins said Ibaka could not have erased all the defensive mistakes the Thunder made in Game 2. The Spurs shot 50 per cent from the field and made 9 of 23 3-pointers. "Hes a key guy, but at the end of the day, we shouldnt be getting beat this bad," Perkins said. "In my opinion, even if we would have Serge the last game, the way we played, we still would have lost." Wholesale China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Nike NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Nike Basketball Jerseys Hockey Jerseys China Supply Baseball Jerseys Football Jerseys SaleAuthentic College Jerseys MLB Jerseys China Stitched Soccer Jerseys Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap Nike Jerseys ' ' '

    • DAVIE, Fla. Cheap Air Max 97 Ireland Sale . -- Bryant McKinnie came out of his stance and lowered his shoulder into a practice squad player, causing a crisp thud to reverberate in the Miami Dolphins practice bubble. "Thats right," offensive line coach Jim Turner hollered. "Nice short first step." The Dolphins hope McKinnies arrival Tuesday marks a big step in the right direction for a team reeling from pass-protection problems. They acquired the 12th-year pro Monday from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a conditional late-round draft pick. "Hes a heck of a player," said tackle Jonathan Martin, whose role likely will be affected by the trade. "Anytime you bring in a guy like that, its going to make you better." McKinnie might not be ready for Sundays game at New England, or even the Halloween game against Cincinnati. But barring sudden, dramatic improvement by right tackle Tyson Clabo, McKinnie is expected to move into the starting lineup eventually. He likely would assume his customary spot at left tackle, with Martin moving from the left side to right tackle as Clabos replacement. McKinnie practiced only on the left side Tuesday, and while Clabo and Martin remained with the first team, Martin worked some on the right. "Its a decision the GM and the coaching staff thought they had to make," Martin said. "You can approach this two different ways. You can go in the tank and be one of those guys that moans and is a cancer in the locker room, or you can be a professional and play as hard as you can. My mindset is Im going to go out there and do whatever I can to help the team win." The 34-year-old McKinnie, who played for the Miami Hurricanes and spends offseasons in South Florida, said he looked forward to helping the Dolphins. "It feels good to be back here and get a chance to play in front of people who saw me play in college -- and to be in my own bed," he said. McKinnie has had off-the-field issues in South Florida in the past, and was involved in the "Love Boat" scandal in 2005 while with the Minnesota Vikings. He acknowledged his reputation for partying. "Thats when Im off," he said. "See, thats Big Mac during the off-season. Bryant McKinnie is the person who comes to work and handles his business. Thats who youll get right now." Coach Joe Philbin, who stresses the need for his players to have good character, said McKinnie will be judged on what he does at the Dolphins complex. "Im concerned about what he does in this building," Philbin said. "I dont mandate what people do outside the building. I expect him to be a professional, just like all the other guys." The trade means McKinnie now works for his former girlfriend, tennis champion Venus Williams. She and her sister Serena own a small share of the Dolphins. "Venus texted me and said she had a lot to do with the trade," McKinnie said with a laugh. "And then Serena hit me up and said to refer to her as boss now." McKinnie, a Pro Bowl tackle in 2009, lost his starting job after five games this season and was inactive for the first time in his career the past two weeks. He recently had his right knee drained and said its fine now. The 6-foot-8 McKinnie, one of the largest players in the NFL, weighed in at 364 pounds and said he hopes to play at about 355. His newly issued No. 78 practice jersey was too small to cover his midsection. The Dolphins (3-3) are desperate for better pass protection. During their current three-game losing streak, theyve given up 12 sacks, and Ryan Tannehill leads the NFL with 26. McKinnie declined to predict how soon he might play, as did Philbin. But guard Richie Incognito, who was traded by the St. Louis Rams during the 2009 season, predicted McKinnie would be ready for the Patriots on Sunday. "No question I think he can do that," Incognito said. "I showed up on a Thursday in Buffalo and started Sunday, so it has been done before." Cheap Air Max 97 Ireland . -- Canadas Justin Shin shot an 8-under 64 on Thursday on PGA Wests Nicklaus Tournament Course to take the first-round lead in the Web. Cheap Air Max 97 Wholesale . The 25-year-old native of Milford, Conn., has 18 points in 41 games this season. The five-foot-eight 166-pound centre also has 28 points (10-18) in 15 games with AHL Oklahoma City. SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Patrick Marleau has had a lot of success against the Edmonton Oilers this season. The Sharks assistant team captain found another way to keep the good times rolling. In the process, he just might have salvaged San Joses hopes of catching Anaheim in the chase for the top spot in the Pacific Division. Marleau scored a tiebreaking goal with 7:29 left in the third period to lift the Sharks to a 5-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night after San Jose had squandered a two-goal lead. "I think (Joe Pavelski) actually kicked it over to me in front," said Marleau after notching his 32nd goal of the season. "It was good. I was just able to get it in the back." It was a much-needed win for the Sharks, who came into their final homestand of the season after falling out of first place in the division following back-to-back losses to Winnipeg and Colorado. San Jose has already locked up a playoff spot, but is trying to avoid a first-round matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. The Sharks had blown a 3-1 lead and were 0 for 5 on power plays before Marleau rocketed a shot past Edmonton goalie Ben Scrivens after Scrivens had deflected a one-timer by San Joses Brent Burns. Dan Boyle, Andrew Desjardins and Tommy Wingels also scored for the Sharks, who moved within one point of first-place Anaheim in the Pacific Division. "I still think our team looks lethargic," San Jose coach Todd McLellan said. "Were there but were not really getting it done. Right now were still in a fight, which I think is good for us, to stay focused and have that battling mentality." The Sharks still face an uphill climb. Four of their final five games are against teams in playoff contention. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had two goals and two assists for Edmonton, which lost for the fourth time in five meetings between the teams this season. "We knew coming in we couldnt take penalties but for whatever reason, a couple that we probably shouldnt have taken and it comes back to bite us," Nugent-Hopkins said. "I thought we showed a lot of push-back. The way we climbed back in the game was reeally big for us. Air Max 97 Ireland. We just have to take some momentum from it." This one nearly got away after San Jose built an early lead. Edmonton scored two goals in a 38-second span in the second period to tie the game, then took the lead when Nugent-Hopkins scored his second goal of the game 6:16 into the third. After Burns tied it off an assist from Joe Thornton, Marleau sent the crowd at SAP Pavilion home happy with his game-winner. Antti Niemi made 25 saves for San Jose. Taylor Hall scored the other goal for Edmonton. Nugent-Hopkins nearly had a hat trick after being credited with a goal in the second, but it was later awarded to Jordan Eberle. Scrivens set an NHL record for most saves in a regular-season shutout when the two teams played on Jan. 29, but wasnt nearly as sharp this time. Neither was Niemi. Desjardins third goal of the season 3:11 into the first put the Sharks up 1-0. Desjardins scored off a deflection in front of the net after Scrivens stopped a shot by Tyler Kennedy. Hall tied it on a power-play goal for Edmonton after a roughing call against Boyle. Boyle, penalized twice in the first period, made up for it with another point-blank shot in front of the net that made it 2-1. After San Joses power-play unit missed a chance to pad the lead early in the second, Wingels tapped the puck past Scrivens for an even-strength goal that gave the Sharks a 3-1 lead. Edmonton tied it with two goals in 38 seconds. Nugent-Hopkins, who had an assist on Halls goal, scored to cut the gap to 3-2 before Eberles game-tying shot. Nugent-Hopkins was originally credited with the goal after the play was reviewed and upheld, but a scoring change later awarded the shot to Eberle. Nugent-Hopkins put the Oilers ahead when he scored 6:16 into the third before Burns tied it for the Sharks midway through the final period. "Were happy with the two (points), but weve got to tighten up for the post-season," Thornton said. "Weve got five games here to do that." Notes: Halls 26 goals are tied for the team lead. David Perron also has 26. ... Top-seeded Djokovic swept to a 6-1, 6-3 win over 51st-ranked Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain in just 57 minutes, but fourth-seeded Federer had to see off a serious challenge from 48th-ranked Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic before coming through 6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-3. "I have done really well today from the first to the last point," Djokovic said. "There was no major ups and downs, especially with the serve that helped me to win comfortably my service games, a lot of free points." In the first set, Djokovic raced to a 5-0 lead before Bautista Agut held serve to win his only game in the set. The only hiccup Djokovic had in the second set was when serving for the match at 5-2. He dropped his serve in that game but broke serve in the next to close out the match. Djokovic will play sixth-seeded Mikhail Youzhny, who beat British wildcard recipient James Ward 6-1, 7-6 (3). Federer came into his two hour, eight minute match with a 12-2 winning record over Stepanek. Hes now won their last nine meetings dating back to the 2008 Rome quarterfinals. "I got broken four times which is difficult, but its good to win those type of matches," said Federer, who faced eight break points against his serve. "Im happy to get through. "It didnt look good there for a while, but I got it done." Federer handled the first set with confidence, but started to falter as Stepanek became more aggressive in the second set. Federer managed to rebound from 4-2 down in the second set to force a tiebreaker -- where Stepanekk raced into a 6-2 and a first set point when Federer double faulted. Odell Beckham Jr Jersey. Stepanek won the set on his third set point when Federer netted a forehand. Stepanek also took an early 2-0 lead in the third set, but Federer rebounded to go ahead 5-2 to serve for the match. Federers serve was broken when he double faulted in the eighth game. Stepanek, however, surrendered his serve in the next game to allow Federer to move into the quarterfinals. Hell now face another Czech player in Lukas Rosol, who upset eighth-seeded Dmitry Tursunov of Russia 6-4, 7-6 (4). "Today was quite frustrating," Federer said. "I had momentum on my side at the beginning, but it was tough to keep it going. "After the first set I was under pressure the entire match." Like Djokovic, third-seeded Tomas Berdych had an easy path to the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine. Berdych, who will face fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals, has won his last eight matches. Despite Berdych having trouble with his first serve -- his percentage was a ghastly 37 per cent -- he controlled the match. He lost his serve once, and won 12 of the last 14 points. "I was working a little more on my return stats than on my service stats," Berdych said. "The main focus really for the next days is to get my percentage of the first serve back and really find a nice and sweet rhythm for my serve." Tsonga won his second-round match by walkover when his opponent, Nikolay Davydenko, withdrew with a rib injury. Seventh-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Andrea Seppi of Italy. Kohlschreiber will play Tunisian wild card Malek Jaziri, who beat Somdev Devvarman of India 6-3, 7-5. Wholesale China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Nike NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Nike Basketball Jerseys Hockey Jerseys China Supply Baseball Jerseys Football Jerseys Sale Authentic College Jerseys MLB Jerseys China Stitched Soccer JerseysCheap Jerseys From China Cheap Nike Jerseys ' ' '

    • IRVINE, Calif. Air Max 1 Cheap Online . -- Ryan Lochte beat Michael Phelps to win the 200-meter individual medley at the U.S. national championships Sunday night, leaving Phelps winless in four races at his biggest meet since coming out of retirement. Lochte, the world champion, led all the way and touched in 1 minute, 56.50 seconds Sunday night. He is coming off major knee surgery, which limited his training. "This year has been up and down, but Im glad I got a win knowing that I really havent done the work I wanted to," he said. Phelps, the three-time Olympic champion in the event, chased Lochte throughout and pulled into the wall second in 1:56.55. Lochtes time was second-fastest in the world this year; Phelps was third-quickest. "If you go out in that race its pretty painful in the end," Phelps said. It was Lochtes first victory of the five-day meet after finishing second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 200 backstroke. Four months into his comeback, Phelps came up empty. He finished second in the 100 butterfly, sixth in the 100 back and seventh in the 100 free. Olympian Tyler Clary was third in 1:57.94. Lochte, Phelps and Clary are headed to Australia to compete in the Pan Pacific Championships this month. Simone Manuel won the 50 freestyle in 24.56 seconds to go with her second-place finish in the 100 free. Natalie Coughlin, at 31 the oldest woman competing at nationals, finished sixth. She failed to make her record-tying fifth Pan Pacific team and as a result wont qualify for next years world championships. That leaves Coughlin out of the two biggest international meets leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympics. Melanie Margalis won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.20 to earn a berth at her first major international meet. Swimming on the far outside in lane eight, Katy Campbell won the 1,500 freestyle in 16:17.59 after world record-holder Katie Ledecky decided not to swim on the meets final night. WINNIPEG -- Carl Hagelins first career hat trick rescued a three-game road swing for the New York Rangers and threw a little more dirt on the Winnipeg Jets playoff chances Friday night. "It feels good, Ive never had one before, not even in College," Hagelin said after the Rangers outgunned the Jets 4-2, behind some solid goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist following a pretty wide open first period. They went into the second tied 2-2 but Hagelins second goal of the game with just eight seconds left was enough to win it. His final one in the third was just icing. It was frustrating for the Jets, who outshot the Rangers 32-23 yet watched their sixth game without a win go into the books. "The third period we came out and kind of threw everything we had at them," said Winnipeg centre Bryan Little, whose assist on Winnipegs second goal kept him in the scoring lead for the Jets with an NHL career-high 54 points. "But we couldnt find a way. Our mistakes kind of made us pay tonight." "They did a good job coming at us hard, very aggressive, but at the same time we played such an aggressive style you might give up some scoring chances that are really grade-A scoring chances," agreed Hagelin. The Jets caught a small break when the Dallas Stars only increased their lead in the final wild-card spot in the West by one point, after losing 4-3 in a shootout to the Calgary Flames. But the Jets are also one point behind Vancouver and four behind the Phoenix Coyotes as they try to climb into that final wild-card spot. Hagelins three goals raised his total this year to an NHL career-high 16. Chris Kreider also scored for New York (36-28-4), who had lost their two previous road games in Carolina and Minnesota. "You cant come on a road trip and go back empty handed, those are two big points," said Martin St. Louis, who came out of the penalty box to snatch the puck and set up New Yorks go-ahead goal at the end of the second period. "Being able to come out of the box and get one was I think big (for) the momentum of our team." Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd scored for the Jets (30-29-9), who havent won a game since Mar. 1. "I dont think guys in here are giving up," said Ladd, who played his 600th NHL game Friday night. "I dont know. I want to think were trying as hard as we can to get this going in the right direction." The Jetss also lost starting netminder Ondrej Pavelec, who didnt answer the bell for the second period and was replaced by Al Montoya. Air Max 1 Online Shop. Coach Paul Maurice wouldnt comment on the nature of the lower-body injury that sent him to the dressing room but said hed say more Sunday after its evaluated. The Jets also lost fourth-line forward Chris Thorburn to injury Friday night. The Jets have tried to remain positive and not look back at their losses but Little admitted that isnt easy. "Its getting harder right now," Little said. "Were really fighting to win and theyre not coming easy by any means. . . . Coming into the rink tomorrow is going to be tough because tonight was a painful one. "I wish we could go out and redo the whole game right now." The Rangers were playing back-to-back after a 2-1 loss in Minnesota Thursday, but came out fast and scored on just their third shot of the game. Hagelin deflected his first past Pavelec at 1:15. The goal had barely been announced when Byfuglien evened things up at 2:33 as he batted Blake Wheelers rebound past Lundqvist. Less than a minute later, Ladd put the Jets up 2-1, when he found the upper corner of the New York net with a wrister from the faceoff circle on Lundqvists stick side at 3:26. Winnipeg was cycling the puck in the Rangers zone until Kreider broke away and scored at 11:28 with Winnipeg defenceman Zach Bogosian on his heels. With eight seconds left in what had been a scoreless second period, St. Louis came out of the box, fed Hagelin from behind the net and he flipped in a backhander. "Thats a tough goal," said Maurice. "I think clearly the 3-2 goal changed how we moved the puck and how we moved some things around." At the same time, he said the games the Jets are losing are a lot like the games the Jets won after he took over. The only difference now -- chances arent turning into goals. "Its a frustrating run, theres no question," Maurice said. The Winnipeg coach also said the Jets know theyre facing one of the toughest stretches in their schedule with games against some of the top teams in the NHL. Hagelin put in his third at 8:50 of the third period off a pass from Brad Richards on a two-man rush that beat Montoya through the five hole. For the Bombers it has been a combination of things coming together at the most inappropriate moments in time. Quarterback, injuries, Canadian talent or depth and leadership are all issues. Trust me when I say being a Bomber is no fun right now in a city that embraces football the way Winnipeg does. While Buck Pierce will be getting another shot, I think Max Hall does deserve another opportunity.PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Bills coach Doug Marrone blew up at his players on Thursday, sending a message that hes fed up with too many fights and post-whistle shoving matches during practice. Marrone cleared the field during the middle of a team drill and ordered players to run sprints after several of them exchanged shoves. That included receiver Marquise Goodwin pushing down rookie cornerback Sam Miller from behind. Marrone then directed his anger at starting defensive end Jerry Hughes on the sideline. Looking directly at Hughes, Marrone used several profanities in telling the player to stop complaining. "Why cant you handle it as players?" Marrone yelled. He then motioned toward the locker room and said: "Do you want to play on this team?" Once again looking at Hughes, Marrone said: "If youve got a problem with me, you need to come and tell me." Marrone spent a few minutes meeting with Hughes following practice. Walking off the field, Hughes referred questions about what happened to Marrone, and added: "the head coach took care of it." Afterward, Marrone said his comments were directed at the team and not Hughes. "Thats directed at anyone who doesnt want to be part of the team," Marrone said. "I told Jerry that I love the way he practices and I love the way he plays special teams and how he goes about it. And weve got to get some other guys who are starters to do that." Marrones blowup occurred on the final day of practice at the Bills training camp facility in suburban Rochester. The Bills will have two more walk-throughs at camp -- both closed to the public and media -- before travelling to Orchard Park on Saturday for their preseason game against Tampa Bay. Several fights have broken out during camp, which opened July 20. The most intense fight occurred Wednesday when rookie defensive end Bryan Johnson ripped off the helmet of centre Eric Wood and then connected with several punches. Numerous veterans stepped in too defend Wood, who sustained a cut on his nose. Nike Air Max Myydään. Johnson was wrestled to the ground by guard Erik Pears and tight end Scott Chandler. Hughes wasnt involved in the fight, but yelled a few things from the sideline, including: "Twenty-one days in pads and counting. I love it!" Marrone, a former NFL offensive lineman, said theres no place in the game for fighting, that it shows a lack of respect for players, coaches and the game. "Figure it out. Were responsible for the integrity of the game," Marrone said. "There is no use for fighting in the game of football. Period. End of discussion." Veteran defensive tackle Kyle Williams spent time counselling Hughes immediately following Marrones blowup. "We talked about being a pro and making sure we keep it that way all the time," said Williams, a nine-year veteran and longtime defensive captain. "Weve been hitting on each other for a while and that kind of thing spills over from time to time," Williams said. "But at a certain point, you have to be a professional and understand theres guys here trying to make the team. And theres a time that youve just got to walk away from it." Running back Fred Jackson, another team captain, welcomed Marrones outburst. "I think guys got it loud and clear today," Jackson said. "We werent getting anything accomplished in the beginning of it. So he had us go to the sideline, get it all out of our system and move on." NOTES: Marrone said WR Sammy Watkins (bruised ribs) and CB Leodis McKelvin (groin) have not been cleared to play against Tampa Bay on Saturday. Watkins has been limited in practice this week since being hurt in a 19-16 loss at Pittsburgh last weekend. McKelvin has missed the past two practices. ... • BALTIMORE – Hours before his Blue Jays dropped an 8-2 decision to the now-American League East champion Orioles, general manager Alex Anthopoulos was asked to clarify whether John Gibbons would return as manager in 2015. Zapatillas Nike Air Max Baratas Online . Gibbons indicated on Monday he wasnt certain of his future. "Hes under contract," said Anthopoulos. "Hes always under contract pretty much. I dont think theres anything to take care of. I think hes done a good job." The Jays have lost three in a row and sit five games back of Kansas City for the second wild card spot. With 12 games remaining, the Jays tragic number (the number of combined Toronto losses with Kansas City victories to produce mathematical elimination) is eight. The Jays must first surpass Cleveland and then Seattle before the Royals would be directly in their crosshairs. The task, needless to say, is a tall one. Realists would suggest the postseason dream is dead, that a comeback is impossible. Theyre probably correct. Oh, the use of "probably" is only a hedge until the math officially eliminates them. When the dust settles and the Blue Jays find themselves on the outside of the playoff picture for a second-straight season following high profile trades for the likes of Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle and R.A. Dickey, the club will have plenty of questions to answer. This is a team that is ready to build around a young pitching nucleus of Aaron Sanchez, Marcus Stroman and Drew Hutchison, with Daniel Norris waiting in the wings. There must be a focus on improving the middle of the diamond. Second base, which was handed to Ryan Goins at the start of the year and then was played by Brett Lawrie, Munenori Kawasaki and Steve Tolleson, must be addressed. The matter of second base is further complicated by the poor defensive season Jose Reyes had at shortstop. Perhaps he should be asked, or for $22-million per season, told, to move to second. Then, Anthopoulos could explore shortstop options. Theres also that matter of third base, which is Lawries if hes healthy. Given Lawries extensive injury history, its not safe to assume hell come close to 162 games next year. A contingency plan must be in place. All of that and we havent gotten to the outfield, where Anthony Gose appears poised to take over for Colby Rasmus in centre. Melky Cabrera should be retained but as an impending free agent, that matter is as much up to him as it is the team. If he goes, theres a hole in leftfield. Rightfield is the lone spot of stability out there unless Jose Bautista is dealt. These decisions certainly would involve Gibbons who, at least, would be asked to provide feedback. When asked whether he could assure that Gibbons would be managing the Blue Jays when players report to Dunedin next February, Anthopoulos didnt say "no." He also didnt say "yes." "Hes under contract," said Anthopoulos. "I mean, again, Ive said this before too, Im a big believer that no matter what position it is in the organization, grounds crew, administrative assistant, manager, coach, you support them until you dont support them. Until theyre no longer in those positions, you support them. I mean, that positions going to be that way whether were 100 games over .500 or were struggling. You know, we always support our staff." Gibbons is under contract, true. But Anthopoulos statement doesnt give us any sense into which way hes leaning because Gibbons will remain under contract until well beyond termination. The way the skippers deal works, if Gibbons is managing the Blue Jays on January 1st of a given year (say, 2015), his option for the following season (say, 2016) automatically vests. "I wouldnt make anything more of this," said Anthopoulos. Fair enough. But a firm Yes, hell be our manager would have gone a long way toward keeping the sniffing dogs at bay. Nike Air Max Baratas Online . For the Athletics, hes extremely important at the top of the order, especially with Coco Crisp hurting. Jaso drove in three runs Sunday night, helping Scott Kazmir and Oakland beat the Texas Rangers 9-3.After losing their last two series, the Toronto Blue Jays will try to claim their weekend set with the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field on Saturday afternoon. Drew Hutchinson will take the mound for the visitors in the second contest of the three-game series. He has been solid for the Blue Jays this season, boasting a 3.86 ERA with 93 strikeouts to just 33 walks, but he has just a 6-7 record to show for it. Hutchinson has lost three of his last four starts, including on July 6 when he allowed eight hits and three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of work against the Athletics. Despite allowing 10 hits, seven walks and five earned runs in 5 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay this season, Hutchinson is 2-0 against the AL East rivals. With David Price battling illness, Jake Odorizzi will move up a day to start against the Blue Jays. Tampa Bay is hoping Price will be well enough to pitch Sundays finale. The right-handed Odorizzi had a two-decision winning streak halted on Monday with a 6-0 loss to Kansas City. He yielded only two runs over six innings however, striking out eight batters while falling to 4-8 with a 4.10 ERA on the season. Odorizzi will make just the second start of his career versus the Blue Jays, getting a no-decision against them prior after allowing three runs over five innings. The Blue Jays captured a victory in thrilling fashion on Friday night. With the game tied at 5-5 in the ninth, Steve Tolleson, a late replacement forr the injured Munenori Kawasaki, put Toronto up with a two-run single. Air Max Venta Online. Jose Bautista added an RBI single of his own, and Casey Janssen closed the door in the ninth for his 14th save to lift the road team to an 8-5 win. "We needed that one," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "The way things have been going then to blow a comfortable lead, (losing) would have been tough." Jose Reyes collected three hits out of the leadoff spot to go with two runs scored and two RBI. Bautista had two RBI to give him 54 on the season. Aaron Loup (3-2) earned the win in relief after starter Mark Buehrle went five innings allowing nine hits and two earned runs. "Im frustrated with myself," said Buehrle, an AL All Star. "To go five innings, thats not really called for. I need to go deeper into games to give us a chance to win." Chris Archer was bailed out of a poor start for Tampa Bay, leaving after five innings with a no-decision after surrendering six hits, three walks and five runs. Grant Balfour (0-3) yielded five base runners in just a third of an inning in the loss. Sean Rodriguez belted a three-run homer, his ninth of the year, to tie the game in the seventh inning. Ben Zobrist, Logan Forsythe and Brandon Guyer all added two hits in the losing effort. • TORONTO -- Rudy Gay launched a long lob to a soaring DeMar DeRozan, who finished with huge one-handed dunk early in the third quarter Wednesday. Bernie Parent Jersey . The Toronto Raptors dropped a 101-89 pre-season decision to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but the highlight-reel connection between the two athletic Raptors was perhaps a promise of more to come for the two whove now had the benefit of some time playing together. "Its going good, I know where his sweet spots are, and vice versa," said DeRozan, who topped Toronto (1-1) with 17 points. "Were just trying to put it together, especially when we need to get a bucket, and be aggressive, and get other teams in the penalty. Thats one thing were trying to do." Gay finished with 11 points. "Were trying to get in the rhythm of the offence, being aggressive, trying to create for others, trying to get that down pat," DeRozan said. New Raptor Tyler Hansbrough had nine points and seven rebounds, while Jonas Valanciunas had nine points and five boards and Kyle Lowry had eight points to go with four assists. Kevin Love led the Timberwolves with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Nikola Pekovic had 12 points and eight boards and J.J. Barea added 12 points. Its a new season under a new general manager in Masai Ujiri, but there is stability in the Raptors starting five that didnt exist at this time last year. All five are returnees compared to a year ago when three of the starting five were newcomers. Added to that, Gay was acquired during the mid-season trade that sent Jose Calderon to Detroit, and had to learn on the job without the benefit of training camp or pre-season. Together, DeRozan and Gay can open up space for each other, and pose a huge threat to opponents defences, who have to decide whos the more important player to focus on. Apart from the alley-oop, Wednesdays game at the Air Canada Centre was typical pre-season, not a pretty performance for either team, featuring mis-timed alley-oops and sloppy turnovers. "Its pre-season," coach Dwane Casey said. "I dont think you can talk to a coach in the NBA now that is where they want to be. We are definitely not where we want to be defensively." Valanciunas said it was a "bad effort on defence tonight." "We still have time and a lot of things to fix and were going to start tomorrow," he said. The Raptors sophomore centre, who was beaten up by the leagues top centres early in his rookie campaign, had some trouble with Minnesotas centre Pekovic on Wednesday. "Hes a really good player, and its not easy to go up against him," Valanciunas said. "Its easier than last year, but I still have to fix a lot of things." The Raptors, who won their pre-season opener 97-89 over the Celtics in Boston on Monday, trailed the Timberwolves 29-22 after a sloppy first quarter. New Raptor Steve Novak drained three three-pointers in the second to help Toronto take a 59-55 lead into the dressing room at halftime. Ronny Turiaf led the TWolves with seven points in a third quarter that saw the visitors regain the lead, up 83-75 with a quarter left. Casey went with mostly newcomers down the stretch as he continues to get a feel for what they have to offer. Toronto next hosts former Raptors No. 1 draft pick Andrea Bargnani and the New York Knicks on Friday. They open the regular season at home against the Celtics on Oct. 30. Notably absent on the night was The Raptor, the teams much-beloved mascot, whos out for the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon. Casey said he called The Raptor after hearing of his injury, which required surgery. "I was disappointed, my daughter cried, she was upset," Casey said. "(The Raptor) is a good man, but hell bounce back, hes in good hands with the physicians. The Raptor will be back." • PHILADELPHIA -- For the Philadelphia Eagles to go worst-to-first in the NFC East, they had to win at home. Columbus Blue Jackets Gear . Bye-bye, losing streak. Nick Foles threw for 298 yards and spun free for a touchdown, LeSean McCoy ran for two scores and the Eagles snapped a 10-game losing skid at Lincoln Financial Field with a 24-16 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday. A year after finishing 4-12 under Andy Reid, Chip Kelly had guided his Eagles (6-5) to the division lead. Theyre a half-game ahead of idle Dallas (5-5). The defending division champion Redskins rallied in the fourth quarter but fell short, dropping to 3-7. "I dont look at it globally," Kelly said. "We have five games in December and we put ourselves in position where those games are meaningful. Well see where were at Dec. 29." The Eagles hadnt won at home in 413 days since defeating the New York Giants on Sept. 30, 2012. Theyll enter their bye week on a three-game winning streak, having turned things around after consecutive home losses last month. "Not one person on this team was defeated," Foles said. "Everybody in our locker room believed we can win and if you feel that way, its something special. We have to keep the momentum going." Down 24-0 in the fourth quarter, the Redskins rallied behind Robert Griffin IIIs TD passes of 62 yards to Darrel Young and 41 yards to Aldrick Robinson and both 2-point conversions. RG3 then drove the Redskins to the Eagles 18 before his pass off his back foot was intercepted by Brandon Boykin in the end zone. "I was trying to throw the ball in the back of the end zone," he said. "It didnt get to where I wanted it to go. Obviously I was on my heels. Something I can definitely learn from." Foles didnt throw any TD passes after tossing 10 in the past two games. But he still hasnt thrown an interception this year, extending his streak to 199 passes without a pick. Foles tied an NFL record with seven TD passes in a win at Oakland two weeks ago and followed it with three more in a victory at Green Bay. McCoy finished with 77 yards rushing and 73 receiving. He leads the NFL with 1,009 yards on the ground. Foles had a career-best 47 yards rushing. "Were all playing as one," McCoy said. "Earlier in the year, the offence was playing good and defence wasnt or defence was playing good and offence wasnt. Now were clicking. The Redskins started their last drive at their 4 with 3:26 left after a 70-yard punt by Donnie Jones. Griffin completed a 28-yard pass to Santana Moss on third-and-25 and Washington eventually moved to the 18 before the pick. Griffin was 17 of 35 for 264 yards and ran for 44 yards. "Took us until the fourth quarter to make a couple plays," Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said. "We had our opportunity at the end. Just couldnt take advantage of it." A 33-27 win at Washington in the season opener kick-started the Kelly Era and raised expectations in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. The Eagles lost the next three games before winning five of seven. Foles replaced an injured Michael Vick in the first half of a victory at the Giants on Oct. 6, and has led the Eagles to a 4-1 record since. The Redskins couldnt generate much offence until Griffin connected with Young after scrambling early in the fourth quarter. He hit Nick Williams on the conversion. Robinson made a nice adjustment to catch Griffins underthrown deep pass for the next score, and RG3 dived in from the 2 for the conversion. But Washington couldnt complete the comeback. Foles ran in from the 4 for a 7-0 lead, even showing some athleticism with a spin move after getting hit at the 2 and then reaching for the end zone. A 49-yard pass to McCoy set up the score. One play after Brent Celek turned a tight-end screen pass into a 42-yard gain, McCoy ran in untouched from the 1. The Redskins drove to the Eagles 8 before Griffin was sacked by Connor Barwin and fumbled. The ball popped straight up and was recovered by Fletcher Cox. The Eagles turned that into a 24-yard field goal by Alex Henery to make it 17-0. McCoy left briefly after injuring his right hamstring in the second quarter and scored on a 1-yard run to put the Eagles up 24-0 in the third. Ohio State (13-3, 2-1 Big Ten) trailed the entire second half, but had possession down 65-62 in the final minute after an Indiana shot-clock violation. • PHILADELPHIA -- Things are going so well for the Philadelphia Flyers right now that they dont even need to be at their best to come out on top. Kjøpe Air Max . Wayne Simmonds scored two goals and the Flyers beat the Dallas Stars 4-2 Thursday night for their fourth straight win. Mark Streit and Michael Raffl also scored for Philadelphia, which improved to 11-2-1 in its last 14 games while maintaining its hold on second place in the Metropolitan Division. Despite the victory, head coach Craig Berube was concerned with the teams "sloppy" play, particularly the second period when Philadelphia allowed 17 shots and three power plays. "Tonight wasnt as good, for sure," Berube said. "We were sloppy tonight, at times. Overall our team is competing hard, working hard and playing like a team, and thats what you have to do. They know it wasnt good enough tonight, but we won." Jamie Benn scored twice for Dallas, which lost its fourth straight. The Stars began the day two points behind Phoenix for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Stars coach Lindy Ruff actually saw positives in the defeat. "If we play like that night after night, well win," Ruff said. "We didnt give up a lot in the game. We gave up four goals but we didnt give up four goals on a lot of opportunities and zone time. Our puck movement was good. The margin of victory, that game couldve went either way real fast." Simmonds scored his second of the game with 7:39 left to put Philadelphia ahead 3-1. After skating across the blue line, Simmonds fired a wrist shot that beat Tim Thomas to the stick side. "Thats a save I should make," Thomas said. "The team really needed it at the time, and I really feel bad for the guys for the game they played. Thats hockey. But I can guarantee Im going to be better for the guys from here on out." Just 30 seconds later, Benn scored his second of the contest by finishing a rebound from in front of the crease after Tyler Seguins shot followed a poor Philadelphia turnover in its own end. It was the 29th goal of the season for Benn, who has points in eight of his last nine games. Raffl provided some insurance for Philadelphia by beating Thomas with a backhander on a breakaway with 3:12 to play. The Flyers took a 2-0 lead after one period. Streit opened the scoring with 9:37 left in the first when he beat Thomas to the glove side with a one-timed slap shot from the top of the left circle. Thomas, Dallas backup, got the start because he entered 14-4-2 with a 2.21 goals-against average and .934 save percentage in his career against Philadelphia. The Stars starting goalie, Kari Lehtonen, is 0-10-2 with a 3.50 goals-against and .891 save percentage lifetime against the Flyers. Simmonds scored on a rebound on the power play just under three minutes later to put Philadelphia in front 2-0. Jakub Voraceks shot from the blue line first hit the right post, then the back of Thomas leg and then the left post before deflecting in front to a wide-open Simmonds, who easily finished from lose range. After Steve Mason stopped Alex Chiasson and Benn on a 5-on-3 power play with 8 minutes remaining in the second period, Benn got the Stars on the board with 7:12 left in the period on a 5-on-4 advantage by beating Mason through the five-hole from right in front of the goal to pull Dallas within 2-1. It was the first power-play goal allowed by the Flyers in their last 20 penalty kills. And despite dominating the period, Dallas entered the third down one goal. "We got on our toes and skated well," Ruff said of the second period. "You have to give Mason a lot of credit. We couldve built some momentum and he made a couple timely saves." Tyler Seguin finished with two assists, giving him 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in his last eight games while extending his career-high total to 72 points. NOTES: Dallas lost for the fourth straight time in Philadelphia, with the Stars last victory a 4-1 win on Dec. 1, 2007. ... Mason returned to the goal after getting a break in Tuesdays 3-2 overtime win over Chicago when backup Ray Emery made 23 saves. Mason had started eight straight games prior to Tuesday. ... The Stars won the only other matchup this season when Seguin got a natural hat trick in a 5-1 win on Dec. 7 in Dallas. Air Max Norge . Heather, the first Gaiter to win the award, set a Canadian Inter-university Sport record with 3,132 passing yards in eight league games, an average of 391.5 yards per game. That beat the mark of 3,047 set only one week earlier by Westerns Will Finch, a Hec Crighton finalist. Air Max Norge Nettbutikk . Eller scored the midway through the third period after Dallas scored twice to tie it, leading Canadiens to a 6-4 win over the Stars on Thursday night.TSN Baseball Insider Steve Phillips answers several questions each week. This week, topics cover Brandon Morrows future, the Miami Marlins, Mariano Riveras choice in second basemen and the Houston Astros. 1) The Toronto Blue Jays placed Brandon Morrow on the 60-day-DL last week, and if he needs surgery on his finger, Morrow will be finished for the year.  Should the club pick up his $10 Million option for next season and would the injury prone Morrow be perhaps better off as a relief pitcher regardless of where he plays next season? So far so good with Brandon Morrow as it seems he will not need surgery at this time.  However, he is once again on the DL and wont be back until after the All-Star break.  Pitchers come back from torn sheaths of the index finger, so it isnt a matter of whether he will make it back, he will be back.  The question is: what is Morrow as a pitcher?  He and the Jays need to decide what he is as a pitcher.  Is he a starter or a reliever?  This is a decision that has to be made not only because of his physical ability but also his capability.  The health question is obvious but so too is the legitimate question about just how good Morrow really is. Physically being a starter is a different challenge than being a reliever.  Starters have to log innings to have a significant impact.  They need to be able to take the ball every fifth day and consistently give their team a chance to win. That means that their bodies need to be able to recover completely with four days off in order to be able to pitch effectively.  Relievers pitch in much shorter spurts but have to be able to bounce back from one day to the next and maintain the quality of their stuff.  Otherwise a reliever restricts his managers decision making if he is frequently unavailable.  Morrow has clearly shown an inability to remain healthy as a starter.  He has made only 30 starts once in his career.  This means that the Jays have had to challenge the organizations depth because he has been unable to pitch.  Almost always the replacement has not been as good as Morrow could be.  Predictability is important for a team both physically and mentally.  When a team is concerned about whether a pitcher can make his next start it impacts the plans and decisions a manager has to make.  Does he have to hold back a reliever in case he needs a spot start?  Should the manager save his bullpen just in case the risky starter needs to come out of the game early?  The manager and team are always in limbo.  Morrow cannot physically be a starter in my mind.  But that doesnt necessarily mean that he can be a reliever.  It is fair to question whether he can assume the rigors of being a regular 7th inning, 8th inning or closer option for the Jays or any other team.   I believe that it is Morrows best shot of sustaining his career.  His body cant seem to handle a lot of work in a little bit of time as a starter.  He should find it easier to pitch an inning at a time.  The main reason he should be a reliever is that it will better suit his mindset too.  Morrow needs to be much more aggressive as a pitcher.  He has lost some trust in his fastball and often nibbles the corner of he plate rather than challenging the hitters with his best stuff.  His 17 walks in 27 innings pitched show that.  In his last start against the Pirates, Morrows fastball ranged from 90-93 MPH when he faced position players.  When he threw his fastball to the opposing pitcher. Garret Cole, he threw it 95-97.  He had no fear of the pitcher and just reared back and said. "I dare you to hit it."  He didnt think about pacing himself or missing the bat when he threw to the pitcher.  He was aggressive and confident.  As a reliever Morrow could be more aggressive with his fastball and simplify his secondary pitches, which sometimes get him in trouble.  A move to the bullpen is exactly what Morrow needs from a physical and philosophical perspective. As far as the contract goes, there is no way I would ever exercise the $10M option.  The Jays jut cant afford the risk.  So at the end of the year the Jays should offer Morrow a middle relievers salary with bonuses based upon games finished if he becomes the closer and games started if he is a starter.  He is at the point that he would have to earn any amount of money beyond what a middle reliever could make.  I think Morrow has a couple of good years left but I just dont know it for a fact.  Time for pay-for-play. 2) The Miami Marlins are tied for first in the NL East, largely due to their 17-5 record at home.  What makes them so good at home, and can they stay in the race given the struggles of the rest of the division?  The Marlins have been one of the great stories of the 2014 baseball season.  They are ranked 29th in payroll ($47,565,400), yet are leading the NL East, whose payrolls range from $90M (Mets) to $180M (Phillies).  The 17 home wins by the Marlins are by far the best in the game.  That is the good news.  The bad news is that the same team with the same players is 3-10 on the road.  The division is grouped together with only four games separating the Marlins at the top and Phillies at the bottom (15-18).  Coming into the season the Braves and Nationals were thought to be the class of the division.  The Marlins were thought to have some interesting young players but not to be a legitimate contender. So far at home the Marlins are averaging almost six runs per game offensively while their pitchers ERA is 2.61 ERA at Marlins Park.  While on the road they have a 4.29 ERA and are only averaging 2.69 runs per game on offense.  These differentials explain why the home and road records are so vastly different but they dont tell us why there is such a stark difference in performance. As is almost always the case, there is a correlation between payroll and average age on the roster.  The younger the roster, the less experience and therefore the lower the payroll.  The Marlins are the second youngest team in the game with an average age of 27.  Only the Astros are younger (26.8).  My experience has taught me that young players are vulnerable to changes in routine and process.  For teams like the Astros and Marlins much of what they experience in the major leagues is new to them.  At home they have a set routine.  They live in their own house with their wives and kids.  They drive their own car to the ballpark and take the same route most days.  They tend to wake up at the same time in their own bed and eat their meals at just about the same time everyday.  When the team goes on the road their routines are completely blown up.  They leave theiir families behind. Air Max Salg. . Fly at odd hours and sleep in hotels.  They live out of their suitcases.  Often times players sleep in later in hotels.  They may not eat breakfast.  They eat hotel food instead of home cooked meals.  They take a bus to the ballpark.  They may not know how to even get to the clubhouse if they havent been to the park before.   Batting practice and conditioning work are done at different times.  They are out of their comfort zone.  Baseball is such a mental game.  The way you think and feel affects the way you play.  It takes years of experience for even the best players to separate daily life from the ballpark life.  It is not uncommon for young teams to struggle on the road for that reason.  If this young Marlins team is truly going to compete they are going to have to play better on the road, since, I dont think they will be able to sustain this level of play at home.  In the end it really doesnt matter if I believe in the Marlins or if you do.  If they believe in themselves and can push through the inevitable struggles that bring voices of doubt they will stay close through the end of July.  They will most likely run out of gas over the last two months of the season because that is typically what teams this young do.  Maybe just maybe they are different.  Either way they are very interesting and fun to watch. 3) Future Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera made some waves earlier in the week, when an excerpt from his new book was released stating that he would rather have Dustin Pedroia in a must win game than former teammate Robinson Cano.  Is Rivera correct in this opinion, and does this in anyway tarnish Riveras reputation? Writing a book upon retirement sounds like a good idea but it almost always leads to trouble.  Drama and conflict sell.  Editors want to stir it up so fans have interest in reading the book.  Even the great kind gentleman, Mariano Rivera, got caught in the trap.  Rivera is one of the most respected competitors ever, not only for his ability but also for his class and dignity.  He was the pros pro; the ultimate professional.  He always said and did the right thing in his career.  Until now. I completely agree with Riveras evaluation of Robinson Cano. "This guy has so much talent I dont know where to start... There is no doubt that he is a Hall-of-Fame caliber (player). Its just a question of whether he finds the drive you need to get there. I dont think Robby burns to be the best... You dont see that red-hot passion in him that you see in most elite players." Cano is an extraordinary talent for whom much comes easy.  He often looks lethargic though and we are left to wonder about his desire and need to win.  I also agree with Rivera about his evaluation of Dustin Pedroia. "Nobody plays harder, gives more, wants to win more. He comes at you hard for twenty-seven outs. Its a special thing to see.  If I have to win one game, Id have a hard time taking anybody over Dustin Pedroia as my second baseman." Rivera could not have been more right on both players.  But it doesnt mean that it was right.  It is so counter to who Rivera is to ever criticize a teammate.  Yes, he was honest and truthful in his evaluations.  But being honest doesnt mean that you have to say all of the truth.  All of that being said this doesnt change for one second, the way I feel about Mariano Rivera.  It actually reinforces my view on Cano.  They have both earned that response from me. 4)  Houston we have a problem!  Can someone please tell me what the Houston Astros are doing?  I understand that franchises need to rebuild but this is crazy.  They have lost 106, 107 and 111 games from 2011-13. This season they are on pace to lose 111 games once again.  They have the youngest team in the majors and the lowest overall payroll of $44.5M.  They had the lowest payroll in 2012 with the second youngest average age of players on the roster.  By most accounts the Astros have a top-five farm system loaded with potential major league players.   Player development and scouting are critical for every organization.  They are certainly important for rebuilding teams and especially important for small market teams who just cant afford high-priced free agents.  Smaller market teams have to develop their own power:  power arms and power bats.  Power is the most expensive commodity in the free agent market so if small market teams are going to compete they need their own kids to deliver.  Young talent alone though does not always win.  There needs to be chemistry and character for every winning team.  Young players need to learn how to win at the major league level.  It doesnt just happen.  Kids need to learn to cope with failure and adversity.  Certainly, minor league experience helps players develop but for every player there is more learning to do at the major league level.  The best way to learn how to win at the major league level is to actually win some games.  A roster full of young players no matter how talented will be subject to a bunch of losing.  Every game one kid may play well.  But that will be countered, by another young player who plays poorly.  Young kids look great one day and horrible the next.  It is the nature of being young.  The talent is there but the consistency is not.  The Astros have some kids that can play but they will get diminishing returns if they continue to let them get their heads beat in every year.  The Astros need to add some veteran experience to their roster.  Certainly coaches help players make adjustments and improve but it is my contention that players learn as much or more from sharing their experience with one another.  Veteran players can help with the mental aspect of the game better than the coaches.  Becoming a consistent player is a way of thinking more than a way of doing.  The Astros have some exciting young kids in their organization but they need a few boring veterans to help stabilize the environment or they will find themselves in a continuous state of rebuilding.  Guys like Justin Mourneau, Marlon Byrd, James Loney, Casey McGhee, Juan Uribe, Ryan Ludwick, Jason Kubel, Scott Kazmir, Dan Haren, Kyle Lohse and Bronson Arroyo are the types of players I am talking about.  They are all mid-level players who wont break the bank but would have given the Astros a shot at finishing with respectability over the past few years and would be extremely beneficial to have help develop their young studs into winning players.  Houston we have a solution!Authentic Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Tennessee Titans Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Washington Redskins Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Arizona Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Denver Broncos Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Green Bay Packers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike New England Patriots Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Oakland Raiders Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Seattle Seahawks Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Carolina Panthers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Cleveland Browns Jerseys Cheap Cheap Throwback Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Atlanta Braves Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Baltimore Orioles Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago Cubs Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago White Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cincinnati Reds Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cleveland Indians Jerseys ' ' '

    • KANSAS CITY, Mo. Cheap Shoes Online . -- The Chicago White Sox placed closer Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday because of an injured tendon in his left ankle. Lindstrom was injured while attempting to field a bunt in the ninth inning Monday in a 7-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals. He is 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA and six saves in nine opportunities. The 34-year-old right-hander will return to Chicago for further examinations. Guerra, 28, was 4-5 with a 2.90 ERA and 29 saves over parts of three seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They were stinging from their four-point loss at Carolina last December that allowed the Panthers to take control of the NFC South lead and eventually win the division title. So New Orleans 28-10 victory Thursday night left the Saints (4-4) feeling pretty good.We knew we had a chance to take control of the division, said Mark Ingram, who ran for 100 yards on 30 carries. We lost to them here at the end of last year so we felt like we left something here. We had to come back and take care of business.Said Saints coach Sean Payton: We had a hard loss here last year, a tough loss. At halftime, we talked about that finish. The Saints are .500 for the first time this season and right that is good enough to lead the NFC South. And they are clearly playing better than any of their division rivals. Here are some things we learned from the Saints victory over the Panthers (3-5-1):SAINTS COME RUNNING IN: The Saints are dangerous enough with Drew Brees, but the idea of the New Orleans having a running game is downright scary. Ingram has rushed for 272 yards and three touchdowns in back-to-back wins. It wasnt always pretty, and yet, we were able to control the game a little bit, Payton said. That was a big plus. The Saints are putting up big numbers with Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson still out with injuries.HARDY GONE FOR SEASON: The Panthers certainly need help on defence, but it isnt going to come in the form of Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy. A person familiar with the situation says Hardys domestic violence appeal trial set for Nov. 17 has been postponed until next year, meaning his season — and his career — with Carolina ccould be over. Wholesale Shoes Cheap. The Panthers placed Hardy on the exempt-commissioners permission list Sept. 17. He isnt allowed to return until after his trial is resolved. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.WHERES THE OFFENSE: The Panthers have failed to break the 10-point plateau in each of the last two games. Cam Newton has not thrown a TD pass in either game, although rookie Kelvin Benjamin has dropped two passes in the end zone. Everybodys looking for a magic play, said Newton, who misfired on 18 of 28 passes and threw for 151 yards. Everybodys looking for somebody to say something, for somebody to do something and take responsibility for themselves. I know I am. I need to be better.BENJAMINS STRUGGLES: For the second straight week, Panthers rookie Benjamin dropped a potential TD pass in the end zone. Newton bailed him out by rushing for a touchdown a few plays later, but its becoming a problem for a team that is struggling to put points on the board. I thought the ball was delivered at a pretty good spot, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said of the drop. It was coming in hot and there was a defender on him but he has made those catches and as he grows and develops as a receiver hell know he has to make all those plays.PROTECTING CAM: Clearly Carolinas injuries on the offensive line have become an issue. The injury-plagued Panthers played without three starters on the offensive line, including left tackle Byron Bell. Both starting guards were also out. Against the Saints the Panthers started a pair of undrafted rookies in left tackle David Foucault and left guard Andrew Norwell. I thought our young guys fought and battled and tried to do the best they can, Rivera said. They came up against a veteran defence as well that did some things that were a little different. I thought our young guys tried to hang in there and do the best they could.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Authentic Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Tennessee Titans Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Washington Redskins Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Arizona Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Denver Broncos Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Green Bay Packers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike New England Patriots Jerseys CheapAuthentic Nike Oakland Raiders Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Seattle Seahawks Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Carolina Panthers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Cleveland Browns Jerseys Cheap Cheap Throwback Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Atlanta Braves Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Baltimore Orioles Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago Cubs Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago White Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cincinnati Reds Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cleveland Indians Jerseys ' ' '

    • MISSISSAUGA, Ont. Cheap Clearance Shoes Online . -- Sam Reinhart spent plenty of time growing up in Vancouver playing hockey in an upstairs playroom with brothers Max and Griffin. The sons of longtime NHL defenceman Paul Reinhart broke a few windows, but it was worth it as they grew up in the game. Max was a third-round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2010, but it took Sam seeing Griffin put on a New York Islanders jersey as the fourth overall pick in 2012 to start to visualize what his draft-day moment could be like. Thatll come June 27 in Philadelphia as Sam Reinhart is expected to be one of the top three picks. Once that sinks in and Reinhart goes about preparing for his first NHL training camp, he will draw from the experience he had in early May with Canadas world hockey championship team. The Kootenay Ice forward thinks hes ready for the pros because he joined Team Canada for its training camp and exhibition game against Switzerland in Zurich. "I got a little taste of it at the international level for a couple days in Switzerland," he said Friday at the NHLs annual scouting combine. "It was pretty amazing to see how I handled practice one compared to practice three and really picked up the pace and felt comfortable pretty quick out there." Reinhart had to think quick well before he ever stepped onto the ice. He got the call from Hockey Canada on Friday night and needed to decide whether to get on a plane to Europe Saturday afternoon. "It was a pretty quick turnaround to kind of drop everything and go over there," the 18-year-old centre said. "It was a tough decision at the time but really turned out to be a positive experience. Its really paying off right now." Reinhart didnt have much more to prove. He had represented Canada the under-18 world championships twice, winning gold in 2013, and then was on this past years world-junior team. Named WHL player of the year for putting up 105 points in 60 games with the Ice, Reinhart is third among North American skaters in NHL Central Scoutings final rankings. But it didnt hurt Reinhart to show what he could do surrounded by players who will soon be his peers. He already knew Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly, Flames centre Sean Monahan and Canucks defenceman Jason Garrison, but being on the ice with them in that environment was a different story. "He didnt look out of place," Team Canada coach Dave Tippett said in a phone interview Friday afternoon. "He carried himself like a pro player. He picked up the things we were trying to do in the drills very well. The biggest thing you could tell, and its probably a little bit because of his upbringing -- he wasnt intimidated by the situation at all and just jumped in there and played." Even though Reinhart was an extra forward for the exhibition game, Tippett liked how he made the most out of his eight or nine minutes of ice time. Had an injury occurred before the team left Zurich, there was some discussion about adding Reinhart to the team, which wouldve made him the youngest by two months over Nathan MacKinnon. Reinhart worked to show what he could do if that happened. "Youre not going in with the mind-set that youre coming home in a couple days," he said. "You know obviously the odds are you will. But you never know what happens at that point." Ultimately, Reinhart got sent home while the Canadian team went on to Minsk. But not before he made a positive impression on Tippett and his staff. "Hes a mature kid," Tippett said. "Obviously I think being from a family that has grown up around pro hockey, that helps the situation. You could tell that he wasnt in awe of the situation at all. He just got in there and got to work and fit in well with the group." Reinhart is part of a bigger group at this weeks combine outside Toronto as one of 117 of the top prospects going through interviews and then fitness testing Saturday. Along with Kingston centre Sam Bennett and Barrie defenceman Aaron Ekblad, though, Reinhart is part of the small faction of potential No. 1 selections, whether the Florida Panthers keep or trade the pick. The six-foot-one, 186-pound playmaker is known for his hockey sense and vision. Of course there are things he feels like he needs to get better at, including lower-body strength. "It just doesnt happen over a summer, Ive been focusing on it for a long time now and I feel confident with it," Reinhart said. Another question is his speed, but if Reinhart himself was at all worried, Zurich made him feel better. "I felt with the pace over there I kept up pretty well," he said. "I felt really confident with it, leading into the next day and it was amazing how much you improved."Shoes Clearance Sale Online . • Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Grossiste Air Max Belgique.ca. Hello, I love reading your column. I have a question on the Bruins/Columbus game from Saturday. The puck clearly went out of play in the second period and play continued on as the on ice officials didnt see the puck go into the netting and Columbus ended up scoring. Why was this not reviewed and the time put back on the clock and the goal not disallowed? Thanks! Cristina I hope all is well! I was wondering if you could give a little explanation in to the call, or lack thereof, during the Bruins vs. Columbus game on Saturday 12/27? The puck clearly went out of play and hit the protective netting, as it was described by the announcers it should have been reviewed at the next whistle and the clock reset to the time the puck went out of play, the next whistle was a goal by Columbus, which they deserved, but the commentator made it seem that there was no way it would stand with the new rule the NHL implemented in the off season as a result of the Detroit vs. San Jose game last year. Later it was clarified by the NHL that the puck needed to go immediately in the net for that rule to be enforced, who was right in this situation? Sincerely, Jason in Boston Cristina and Jason: The Hockey Operations Department is the exclusive and final authority responsible for managing everything that takes place on the ice. As keepers of the game, Hockey Ops extensive range of authority includes, but is not limited to, conducting studies to improve the on-ice product, recommendation of rule changes, provide for player safety and to render all video review decisions under guidelines issued by the team General Managers and as approved by the rules committee. As the NHL puck bounces, we are all forced to accept their decisions. The expressed inability by the NHL Situation Room blog to review this play beyond the scoring of an immediate goal after the puck struck the struck the spectator netting is beyond just right or wrong. It exposes a communication and public relations problem too often created by the NHL that provides confusion and frustration as opposed to clarity for those that report the game and for fans. There have been times that a new rule was implemented in an attempt to manage a specific situation without due consideration as to how it might affect or impact other preexisting rules. The Referees usually pick up any contradictions at training camp as various scenarios are brought forward in new rule discussions. The horrible optics and negative impact on the outcome of the game in Detroit last season contributed to an expanded and broader discretionary capability for video review to determine the legitimacy of all potential goals (e.g. to ensure they are good hockey goals). In that game, with L.A. leading by one goal in the dying seconds of regulation time, and the Wings net empty in favor of an extra attacker, the puck deflected high onto the spectator netting behind the Kings net and was undetected by the Officials. The puck then caroomed off the netting, struck Jonathan Quick on the back and rolled into the net for the tying goal. The Wings then went on to win the game in overtime thereby denying the Kings a point they desperately needed in the tight Western Conference playoff race. That was surely not a good hockey goal by any stretch of the imagination. I have to question whether the one in Columbus the other night was much better. During the summer months wording was incorporated into Rule 38.4 (viii) to allow video review to rule upon this specific situation with regard to (and I quote), pucks that hit the spectator netting prior to being directed into the goal. As per the wording in the rule book and as communicated to Bruins play-by-play man Jack Edwards and other NHL broadcasters that attended a pre-season advisory meeting in New York, there was never a reference to the word immediate or a defined lapse of time between the puck going out of play (onto the spectator netting) and a subsequent goal being scored. It would appear that a change in criteria or understanding was implemented at some point after the broadcasters September meeting in New York and following the publishing of the 2014-15 NHL Rule Book, to only allow a review if a goal was scored immediately after hitting the spectator netting and going out of play. It would also appear that someone forgot to send a memo to everyone that was affected by this dramatic change in policy? The next most obvious question is how immediate must the puck be directed into the net for video review to disallow the goal and reset the clock? Aside from the puck deflecting into the net off the goalie (as was the case with Jonathan Quick) or any other player for that matter, is a puck off the netting onto a stick and shot allowable? What about an attacker gaining puck possession in the corner who subsequently makes a pass into the slot for a one-timer? Is two or more multiple passes allowed or is sustained pressure in the end zone by the attacking team before the puck is directed into the net? These are way too many variables that create inconsistency through subjective decisions. Are any of these scenarios more or less a good hockey goal from each other once it is determined the puck has exited the playing surface by striking the spectator netting? The new and specific wording in 38.4 (viii) contradicts preexisting rule 85.1 (play shall be stopped when the puck hits the spectator netting unless it goes unnoticed by the on-ice officials, in which case play shall continue as normal and resulting play with the puck shall be deemed a legitimate play. I would suggest that through a common sense application the new and expanded authority granted to video review in this very specific situation should take precedent and override 85.1 since it results in the scoring of a goal and not just a normal stoppage at some point and time. My recommendation would be to amend the existing rule by adding, …in which case play shall continue as normal and resulting play with the puck shall be deemed a legitimate play unless the next stoppage of play is created by the scoring of a goal in which case video review shall disallow the goal and reset the clock to the time the puck exited the playing surface by hitting the spectator netting. An application of this nature would be consistent with rule 78.6 when a team scores an apparent goal that is not seen by the on-ice officials and play continues, the play shall be reviewed by the Video Goal Judge at the next stoppage of play. If the goal is confirmed by video review, the clock (including penalty time clocks, if applicable) is re-set to the time the goal was scored. Any potential goal requiring video review must be reviewed prior to or during the next stoppage of play. No goal may be awarded (or disallowed) as a result of video review once the puck has been dropped and play has resumed. Video review is provided much broader discretion in determining the legitimacy of all potential goals. They even recently extended the authority granted to them within the above rule by placing a play under review following a puck drop and resumption of play after Carey Price had made a goal line save. The decision to add the terminology to their criteria, puck directed into the goal as an immediate result of hitting the spectator netting would appear to be another extension of this broad discretion and authority. It might be prudent for the NHL Public Relations Department to communicate these changes to the hockey world before they take effect. It is only reasonable to expect that everyone, especially the hockey broadcasters, would like to clearly understand what defines a good hockey goal? Air Max Belgique Pas Cher . • LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND -- Graham DeLaet was on the course on Monday, playing a dozen or so holes to see the course and shake off the jet lag. Dana Barros Jersey . This is the fifth major for DeLaet and hes missed the cut in the previous three, admitting that while he likes the test of the biggest tournaments, his record isnt all that good. However, he attributed much of his performance to learning the nuances of major championship golf. DeLaet also said that last year at Muirfield, his wrist took a beating due to the firmness of the turf and the steepness of his swing. The ground here at Royal Liverpool is a bit more lush than a year earlier which may help the Canadian. -- Phil Mickelson handed over the Claret Jug on Monday, a tradition the defending champion goes through each year. As do most winners, the lefthander took the trophy to every clambake and family outing he could, sharing it with friends whove helped him along in his career. Mickleson arrives in Liverpool in the midst of what most would consider a down year. He has no wins and not even a top-10 finish to speak of. But, not surprisingly, hes upbeat. “Well, it obviously hasnt been a good year,” he said. “Normally I would be discouraged or frustrated, but Im just not. Im not frustrated and Im not discouraged. I feel like Ive had some good breakthroughs in some areas. I havent had the results, I know I havent played well. But the parts feel a lot better than the whole right now.” Mickelson has armed himself with a few new clubs in the bag this week. Hes added a two-iron as well as a 64-degree wedge that has almost no bounce. Its the only tournament where hell carry these weapons. -- On Monday, members of the International Golf Federation met with the media. Thats the group charged with running golf in the Olympics, among other things. Of course the hot topic is the golf course, which, as with many of the facilities in Rio, is behind schedule. Ian Andrew outlined some of the issues in the latest SCOREGolf Magazine. The powers that be seem to think it will be completed on time and Ty Votaw, who works for the PGA Tour but is also the IGFs vice-president, said there will be a test event prior to the Olympics although there wont be any time to make any changes of significance after that. He also said there is an emergency plan in place. “Well, as far as contingency plan,” he stated, “I think were in no different place than all the other sports in the Olympic games for Rio 2016 and the readiness and preparedness of Rio. “But, yes, we do have plans in place, but were not going to tell you what they are.” -- The weather outlook for the Open, always a concern, is calling for a nice opening day on Thursday with unseasonably warm temperatures (that means getting into the 20s). Now that he is back from a neck injury, the Athletics are seeing it again. Crisp hit a bases-loaded triple, Scott Kazmir faced the minimum through six innings before running into trouble, and the As beat the Minnesota Twins 6-5 on Friday night for their 11th straight win in the series. "On any given night it can be anybody," Crisp said. "Fortunately I was able to find a gap and knock a few runs in. We rely on everybody. Its nice, though, when youre able to help out and contribute." Oakland owns its longest unbeaten run against the Twins, whose last victory came at Target Field on Sept. 10, 2013. The As are 5-0 this year. Kazmir (13-4) tossed just eight balls among his first 42 pitches through four perfect innings before Kennys Vargas broke up the bid with a single off shortstop Jed Lowries glove. Yet the As turned a spectacular double play on a grounder by Kurt Suzuki to third two batters later. "It cant get any better than that, making a diving play, getting up and making a strong, accurate throw," Crisp said of Donaldson starting the 5-4-3 play. Kazmir was dominant deep into the game five days after being handed his first loss in six starts and allowing a season-high 10 hits in a Sunday loss to Kansas City. He followed fellow southpaw Jon Lesters three-hit gem in a 3-0 win Thursday with his own impressive outing -- until the Twins made it interesting. "Its something that kind of pumps you up," Kazmir said. "I say it all the time, as starters we have a friendly challenge and try to outdo each other." Trevor Plouffe hit an RBI single in the seventh as Minnesota ended a 19-inning scoreless streak and avoided being shut out in consecutive games for the first time this season. Oswaldo Arcia singled in a run and Chris Parmelees two-run double chased Kazmir. Ryan Cook entered and immediately gave up Eduardo Nunezs RBI double. "We worked some good at-bats off him and that puts pressure on them," Plouffe said of Kazmir. "We put ourselves in a position oof falling behind again. Shake Milton Jersey. " Kyle Gibson (10-9) allowed six runs -- five earned -- and five hits, struck out three and walked a season-high five in five-plus innings while facing the As for the first time. He dropped to 4-1 in six starts against the AL West this season. Gibson loaded the bases on two walks and a single with no outs in the fifth when Crisp tripled to the wall in right-centre. Eric Sogard nearly caught Sam Fuld on the play, crossing home plate a couple of steps later. Sogard doubled in two runs the next inning. BULLPEN RECORD Sean Doolittle retired former As slugger Josh Willingham on a called third strike to end it for his 18th save in 21 opportunities. The As bullpen set an Oakland record with 28 2-3 scoreless innings. The old mark of 27 2-3 was set in June 1998. And Doolittles 18 saves are most by an As lefty. "In a few months once the seasons over it will be cool to look back on," Doolittle said. "Obviously Im really proud to be in the Oakland record books. We have work left to do this season." TRAINERS ROOM Twins: Third base coach Joe Vavra is away from the team and will soon undergo surgery for a torn labrum in his left hip. He wont return to the third-base coachs box this season. "He can sit on the bench," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "Hell be back with us." ... After a workout day Thursday, first baseman Joe Mauer was set to play nine innings for Class-A Cedar Rapids as he works his way back from a strained right oblique muscle. Athletics: Lowrie returned to the lineup and played shortstop after being limited by a bruised right index finger. ... First baseman Kyle Blanks, out since June 23 with a strained left calf, was scheduled to join Triple-A Sacramento to begin a rehab assignment Saturday. ON DECK Twins: Right-hander Trevor May will be promoted from Triple-A Rochester to make his major league debut. After Fridays game, the Twins optioned utilityman Chris Colabello to Triple-A to clear roster room. • (SportsNetwork. Nike Air Max 95 Discount Cheap .com) - The Montreal Canadiens aim to extend their impressive start on the road this season as they visit the Minnesota Wild for Friday nights encounter. The Canadiens have won four of five on the road this season, including a 2-0 triumph over the New York Rangers on Monday. They then made it two straight wins and three in the past four games by beating the visiting Dallas Stars the following night. Listen to the game live on TSN Radio 690 at 8pm et. Carey Price made 26 saves, while both Rene Bourque and Michael Bournival had goals. Raphael Diaz notched assists on both tallies. "Weve been pretty good at defense lately," said Price. "That makes my job a lot easier if they can block shots and keep the rebounds away. It was a grinding game and we kept things simple." The rookie Bournival has also been pretty good as of late, notching three goals and four assists over his last seven games. Travis Moen missed his second game in a row after he took a puck to the face and suffered a facial fracture in last Saturdays loss to San Jose. He joined an injured list that includes Max Pacioretty, Daniel Briere, Brandon Prust and Alexei Emelin, though George Parros is slated to return tonight for the first time since suffering a scary concussion in a season-opening loss to Toronto on Oct. 1. Parros was engaged in a fight with Colton Orr and landed face-first on the ice at the conclusion of the scrap. He had to taken off the ice on a stretcher and was transported to a local hospital. Montreal assigned forward Patrick Holland to the American Hockey League on Tuesday, signaling a possible return for Parros. Pacioretty, meanwhile, could also be back in the lineup this weekend. Montreal will visit Colorado on Saturday. Price is in line to start tonight and is 2-1-0 with a 2.63 goals against average in three career meetings with the Wild. Peter Budaj, a former Avalanche netminder, is likely to get the start tomorrow. The Wild try to avoid a second loss in a row tonight after having a three-game win streak snapped with a home loss on Monday versus Chicago. Minnesota had bested the Blackhawks on the road Saturday, but lost a 5-1 decision two days later. Jason Pominvilles seventh goal of the season with 8:33 left in the second period made it a 1-1 game before the Blackhawks offense got rolling. Niklas Backstrom ended up yielding five goals on 28 shots. "It was clear to me our execution wasnt as good as it needs to be against that team," Minnesota head coach Mike Yeo said. "You need to make plays." Minnesota lost the opener of a four-game homestand and lost in regulation for the first time this season on home ice (4-1-2). Yeo will likely alter his lineup before tonights game as defensemen Keith Ballard and Jonas Brodin, as well as forward Charlie Coyle could all return from injury. Ballard and Coyle are both probable for tonight, while Brodin is questionable after having been out since suffering a broken cheekbone on Oct. 22 when he was hit in the face by a puck. Ballard has missed seven straight with a concussion, while Coyle has missed 11 in a row with a sprained knee. The Canadiens have won two straight over the Wild and are 5-1-1 in the past seven meetings. They won a 5-4 shootout at home in the most recent encounter on March 1, 2012. Montreal is also 3-1-1 all-time versus the Wild in Minnesota, winning the past two. Backstrom is 1-1-0 with a 3.10 GAA in four career meetings with the Habs, including three starts. Discount Nike Air Max 95 . Granada goalkeeper Roberto Fernandez saved Morenos first two headers from corner kicks taken by Sergio Garcia, but the defender beat him on his third try after Garcia found Moreno unmarked at the near post in the 78th minute. The last day of the Barclays Premier League goes Sunday and the permutations are rather simple. If Manchester City wins or draws against West Ham at the Etihad, they win the title.  A draw would mean the league would be decided by goal differential if Liverpool beats Newcastle; a gleeful sight for Manchester United supporters if City were to win both of their two titles based on goal difference.  After a frustrating year at Old Trafford, this is all they have. The only way Liverpool are crowned champions is a win Sunday at Anfield combined with a Man City loss.  Seems improbable, but not impossible.  The dream of ending the title drought since 1990 will most likely carry on another year, along with the pain, anguish and yearning.  This is the most compelling storyline heading in to Super Sunday with all eyes on Man City (TSN Radio Network, 10am ET) and Liverpool (TSN) and who will reign supreme. At the bottom of the table, Fulham and Cardiff City have already been relegated.  Norwich City is all but relegated, needing a miracle of biblical proportions, facing a 17-goal gap in goal differential.  Bye, bye, Canaries.  So we will not to be treated to a topsy-turvy day of who stays and who goes from Premier League football.  The casual fan is worse off for it not having the drama at the death.  Tottenham and Manchester United are the only other teams playing for anything come Sunday.  Spurs can wrap up Europa League qualification with a win or a draw at home against Aston Villa.  If Spurs lose, a Manchester United win at Southampton would see them qualify for Europe.  Europa League is hardly the prize either team envisioned.  Again, blasé.  An exciting season may be coming to an end in unspectacular fashion, however talking points continue to swirl.  Here are this weeks musings: - Hardly Vintage: The 2013/14 season will hardly go down as a vintage Premier League campaign.  There were plenty of memorable moments (more on the flash points next week), good and bad, but the prevailing sentiment over the season was sub-par play.  The league lacked a true frontrunner and parity was more a product of mediocre play and change, rather than top quality football.  The Premier League spends millions in transfers on a bi-annual basis.  It can hardly be said teams are paying for value.  The Premier League is rich with sponsors and earnings for surpassing any of their contemporaries.  The wealth is exposed by lesser lights, with Premier League teams paying out the nose for marginal talent.  It makes development that much more important for British clubs, avoiding the pitfalls of fools gold.  Its a double-edged sword, as young players failing to get first team opportunity leave for green pastures (Paul Pogba, anyone?) or attempt to catch on elsewhere in a maze lacking identity or true direction.  Although the entire ‘B-team model has been approached by cynicism by many in high-ranking positions and influential pundits, alternative opportunity to develop is paramount for competitiveness and business.  - Super Sunday: North American professional sports need take notice of the Premier Leagues final day of games.  All matches start at 10am et, meaning all-important results cannot be manipulated to the benefit of self or detriment to another.  The NBA became a farce down the stretch of its regular season, with teams purposely losing to jockey for position.  Professional basketball is not the only culprit.  Its understood scheduling decisions are made based upon broadcasting revenue.  But for the good of the sport and the fans, integrity must be taken into account.  And the excitement of the final day of the Premier League more years than not trumps the spectacle of all others based upon set-up and importance.  The drama is unmatched. - Suarez doubts:  The pictures of Luis Suarez after Liverpools late collapse in a dramatic 3-3 tie at Selhurst Park will be replayed for ages.  Burying his head in his shirt, visibly inconsolable speaks volumes.  There is no doubt Suarez loves Liverpool.  And Champions League football next season brings the assumption he will remain at Anfield.  But thats all it is - an assumption.  If Real Madrid comes calling, which continues to be rumoured, will Suarez be able to resist?  And is the Uruguayan to be trusted by anything he says?  This was a player who cast a line and was headed to Arsenal before the season.  Hes a player suspended twice for biting and once for racist gestures.  His actions on and off the field dont speak of a reliable, stable, predictable player.  There is a lot to like about Suarez. Manchester Citys Yaya Toure and the Liverpool striker have been a cut above on the season. Liverpool need be wary heading into the summer, bringing in requisite players to compete in Europe, also keeping in mind cover for Suarez may be needed.  Its a big summer ahead for Brendan Rodgers making sure he makes the right moves so his team doesnt regress after this ultimately successful campaign.  Suarez is a big part of that.  And if he goes, question marks will remain above the sustainability of success at Liverpool in an ultimately competitive Premier League. - Poor Stevie G:  Contrary to belief, Liverpools title chances ddidnt go out the window after Mondays draw; it came through Steven Gerrards infamous ‘slip-up leading to the game winning goal in a 2-0 home loss to an weakened Chelsea. Cheap Air Max 95 Wholesale.   Its incredible a player as decorated as Gerrard may end his career without a Premier League title.  Hes been one of the top midfielders of his generation, yet hasnt been able to inspire his team to consistent greatness aside from that one night in Istanbul.  This doesnt fall solely on Gerrards shoulders.  And his loyalty to Liverpool is one that should be applauded.  The riches of Chelsea tempted him, yet he remained on the Merseyside.  Seeing Gerrard ‘rally the troops in his now infamous team huddle with the title in his sights, paired with his ‘slip against Chelsea makes for an undeserving snippet of how harsh the game truly his.  As his career fades into memories, how will he be remembered?  The last month provides material he, perhaps, would want stricken from the record. - Citys Dynamic Duo: Manchester City has a roster among the best money can buy.  Yaya Toure is the pulse and Vincent Kompany, despite some hiccups this season, remains the anchor at the back.  But its hard to see City having the success they have without right back Pablo Zabaleta and attacking midfielder David Silva; in my opinion, the best two at their respective positions in the Premier League.  On Wednesday, in a game Aston Villa proved a difficult team to breakdown, it was Zabaleta and Silva with top rate passing and movement that broke Villa down leading to the first two goals.  It must be appreciated how these two see the game and can provide a variance in attack.  In a Premier League predicated on speed and strength, the Argentine and Spaniard bring elements of intelligence and understanding seldom properly utilized.  Their respective importance to team success cannot be understated. - Mourinhos self-fulfilling prophecy: Looking back on Jose Mourinhos first season back at Chelsea, its hard not to wonder what could have been.  The Portuguese tactician was clear throughout the year his team was an underdog in the title race - the ‘little horse, if you will.  It was hard to buy it back when he started spewing the nonsense and it makes little sense now.  It may have not been a squad Mourinho was entirely comfortable with.  And the group will continue to be cut in the mold to what Mourinho desires.  Money is no object, but the past season cannot be deemed a success.  He wasnt managing a team of lesser lights.  The squad was as good as any in the league, but losses to Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sunderland in the last two months were the fatal blow.  It must be asked whether Mourinhos open pessimism about his team played a role in the team psyche.  When you repeatedly downplay your teams chances, it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.  A more positive Mourinho doesnt mean less realistic.  When he sits back and reflects on the season that was, he should rue the outcome as a year of what could have been, rather than what was. - Wenger success?: Arsenal finishes fourth place in the league - another successful year for the club?  That seems to be the mentality at Arsenal and its backwards, but lifting the FA Cup in just over a week from now would soften the blow.  The lack of silverware over the last decade is astonishing for a marquee club.  Wenger will blame injuries and anything else he can grasp hold of.  Its all nonsense.  Arsenals positive start masked continual holes in this team.  A striker and a goalkeeper remain atop the checklist at Arsenal and further squad upgrades are essential.  Arsenals policy of fiscal restraint and development of unknown commodities is a honourable one and Champions League football is great to keep the wheel spinning, but at some point, it must be decided whether fourth place constitutes a victory because at present time it is accepted as good enough...which is really isnt. - Giggss future: With Louis van Gaal seeming like Manchester Uniteds manager of the future, the debate continues to swirl about a role for Ryan Giggs.  The Welshman is a club legend and that will never change.  The insistence he remains part of the new United backroom staff is a romantic one, but it may be flawed.  Uniteds links to their past are never really far away, but now, were speaking of a new-look United, in need of turning the page, moving on to the next chapter.  If van Gaal wants to bring Danny Blind, Patrick Kluivert or whomever he wants to fill out important assistant roles, then so it shall be.  Holding Giggs over his head would be a mistake.  The class of 92 brought incredible success to the team.  They, along with a solid group of veteran leadership, were be able to become the most successful team in English football and it wasnt even close.  Sir Alex Ferguson steered that ship.  If van Gaal is to do his job properly, he needs full autonomy.  If he doesnt have it, who knows what kind of mish-mashed vision will come of it and a mish-mash of results will predictably follow.  It may sound harsh, even unfair, but Giggs may have to go for the restructure to properly take place.  If youre going to hand over the keys to van Gaal, then do it.  No restrictions. Authentic Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Tennessee Titans Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Washington Redskins Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Arizona Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Denver Broncos Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Green Bay Packers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike New England Patriots Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Oakland Raiders Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Seattle Seahawks Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Carolina Panthers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Cleveland Browns Jerseys Cheap Cheap Throwback Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Atlanta Braves Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Baltimore Orioles Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago Cubs Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago White Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cincinnati Reds Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cleveland Indians Jerseys ' ' '

    • For the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, they will have to play on what we call a short week. Billig Air Max Norge .  They will play a game only five days after their previous game.  This is something every team in the CFL will have to deal with at some point and being able to handle these short weeks is crucial to being a contender for first place. When I was a head coach and the newest schedule would come out, I would evaluate and break the season down by how many days off between games. For example, you wanted to know that we have five days between games twice, six days between games three times, seven days between games eight times and so on.  I would do this for not only my team but also all the teams in the League and be able to see how each teams schedule was set up for days between games.  If we had four, five day turnarounds between games and no other team had more than two, I was going to take that up with the CFL schedulers and ask for that to be changed in the next version to match the other teams five day turnaround schedules. Lets talk about some of the things that affect a team playing on a short week.  One of the first things that would happen the day after a game is you get an injury report from the athletic training staff and that will tell you the status of players injuries and whether they will be ready to play.  Short weeks make it very difficult for injured players to get healthy in time to play.  In a seven or eight day work week, you can have two or three extra days to get an injured player ready to play.  That could be all the time in the world, for the training staff to get him ready to play.  So one of the biggest downfalls of short weeks is injured players may have a hard time being ready to play. Another thing that has to be adjusted is the practice schedule for the week.  With only five days between games, you really have only four days to prepare because the fourth day is the travel day.  Most teams do one of two things on the day after a game on a short week. Most teams would bring the players in the day after the game and review the previous nights game and correct mistakes and evaluate the film with the players.  Some teams may give the players the day after the game off and will show a few corrections to be made the following day.  That leaves you with only two days and you have to combine what are usually three games of practice into two days.  So the team will get less reps of their base offense usually and will still have to work on all situations. (Goal line, Red Zone, Backed Up etc.)  So it is very hard for the coaches to communicate and teach the game plan with one fewer day to prep the players.  I never had the players put the pads on during five day turnarounds because the players are still sore from the previous game and I wanted to do my best to make sure the players are ready to play the next game.  From a game planning standpoint, coaches will actually try to do as much work as they can before the previous game knowing that they will have such a short turnaround the following week.  Scouting reports and video breakdowns and whatever early paper work can be done is finished before the previous game. Another thing about game planning on a short week, many teams will have a smaller package of plays because they dont have time to practice and teach it all.  I have found that is actually a good thing because we as coaches tend to put too much into our game plans. One advantage of the short week is if you lost the previous game, you get a chance to play again quickly and get back on track with a win.  Short weeks have to be planned out and structured the right way, but are part of the unique scheduling of the Canadian Football League. Air Max Salg Norge . The victory strengthened Liverpools position in the top four after Tottenham lost 1-0 at Norwich in the days late kickoff, cutting the north London club six points adrift of fourth place and the final Champions League slot for next season. Nike Air Max Billig Online . Scolari says that although Brazilians have the right to complain about the government and demand improvements, perhaps the protests wont be coming at the "right time. The Sacramento Kings got some much-needed depth at point guard and a possible backup plan if they lose starter Isaiah Thomas in free agency. The Kings and Darren Collison agreed to a three-year contract worth about $16 million Thursday, a person familiar with the deal said. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because teams cant officially sign free agents until the NBAs moratorium on moves is lifted July 10. The Los Angeles Times first reported the agreement. Collison opted out of the final year of his contract with the Clippers that would have paid him $1.9 million next season. He averaged 11.4 points and 3.7 assists in 25.9 minutes last season, primarily as Chris Pauls backup. Collison has been a starter at times throughout his career since New Orleans drafted him 21st overall in 2009 out of UCLA, including 35 games last season while Paul was injured. He also played two seasons with Indiana and one in Dallas before helping the Clippers reach the second round of the playoffs. Clippers coach and president of basketball operations Doc Rivers had called Collison the teams No. 1 priority in free agency. Instead, Collison left for a big pay raise in Californias capital city and possibly even a chance to start. With so much money already committed to DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay next season, the Kings chances of keeping Thomas already were going to be tough thhis summer. Nike Air Max Sko Tilbud. Thomas, the last pick of the 2011 draft who has become a fan favourite in Sacramento, has worked his way into being a full-time starter who averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 assists last season. The market for ball-handling guards also has been a booming one this summer. Shaun Livingston left the Brooklyn Nets for a three-year, $16 million deal with Golden State. Kyle Lowry has a contract in place to return to Toronto reportedly worth $48 million over four years, and Kyrie Irving agreed to a five-year, $90 million contract extension with Cleveland. Because Thomas is a restricted free agent, the Kings can match any offer he receives. Whether they will -- or can afford to do so -- remains unclear. The Kings also are counting on some of their young guards to blossom. Last years second-round pick, point guard Ray McCallum, showed signs of improving when he played bigger minutes in the final weeks of the season. And Sacramento has drafted a shooting guard with its last two first-round picks, Ben McLemore (seventh overall) out of Kansas last year and Michigans Nik Stauskas (eighth overall) this June. Owner Vivek Ranadive, general manager Pete DAlessandro and coach Michael Malone have made as many moves as any team in the league since taking over the Kings last year, so its also possible Sacramento could shuffle its roster with more trades again this summer. Authentic Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Tennessee Titans Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Washington Redskins Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Arizona Cardinals Jerseys CheapAuthentic Nike Denver Broncos Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Green Bay Packers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike New England Patriots Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Oakland Raiders Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Seattle Seahawks Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Carolina Panthers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Cleveland Browns Jerseys Cheap Cheap Throwback Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Atlanta Braves Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Baltimore Orioles Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago Cubs Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago White Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cincinnati Reds Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cleveland Indians Jerseys ' ' '

    • SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver is continuing his outreach to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community more than a year after his anti-gay remarks leading up to the Super Bowl. Cheap West Virginia Jerseys Authentic . The San Francisco Bay Times announced Thursday that Culliver conducted his first interview with an LGBT media outlet, sharing how he changed his thinking. Culliver, who missed the 2013 season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee sustained during training camp, underwent sensitivity training and began doing other outreach work. Culliver has worked with "The Trevor Project," an organization that provides crisis and suicide intervention to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth. "I truly appreciate the staff at the Trevor Project for allowing me to grow and educating me on the issues affecting the LGBTQ community," Culliver said Thursday in a statement to The Associated Press. "I have learned so much and made some really great friends. I will continue my commitment to the organization and to their youths and stand firm with hope that one day that all individuals regardless of sex, race, or creed will be treated with dignity and respect from all." During Super Bowl media day in 2013 at the Superdome in New Orleans, Culliver responded to questions from comedian Artie Lange by saying he wouldnt welcome a gay player in the locker room. He also said the 49ers didnt have any homosexual players and, if they did, those players should leave. He later apologized, facing a large group of Super Bowl media members for nearly an hour. "Chris has grown immensely from his words and has committed to continue to grow as a human, particularly around matters around the LGBTQ community," his publicist, Theodore Palmer, said Thursday. "He believes that every individual has a right to love the way they choose to love and celebrate the differences of others on a daily basis." In fact, Culliver told the Bay Times he hopes to work on a project with University of Missouri defensive end Michael Sam, who would become the NFLs first openly gay player. Culliver also applauded Nets centre Jason Collins, who became the first openly gay NBA player last month. "I applaud Michael and Jason for their courage," Culliver told the Bay Times. "I have absolutely no problem playing and interacting with someone from the LGBTQ community and look forward to connecting with Michael soon on some projects." The 25-year-old Culliver, a third-round draft pick in 2011 out of South Carolina, made 47 tackles with two interceptions and a forced fumble during the 2012 season while starting six games for the Niners. They lost in the Super Bowl that season to Baltimore. The San Francisco Bay Times, in its 36th year of publication, defines itself as the oldest fully LGBT-owned and funded newspaper in the Bay Area. It was the first newspaper in California, and among the first in the world, to be produced jointly and equally by gay men and lesbians. Wholesale West Virginia Jerseys . Hes the same player he always was, only now his efforts are being rewarded. The rookie manager has made a habit of heaping praise on others when things are going well, and accepting criticism when they arent.  But in the case of Hurtado, its what the coach is NOT saying that may be the secret to a superb run of form. Stedman Bailey College Jersey . As analysts we do the same thing, so here are some observations from week one. First there were two major upsets. I should say, major upsets in the eyes of the fans and prognosticators.MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun is scheduled to have surgery this week to fix a nagging nerve problem near his right thumb. The injury contributed to Braun having one of the least productive full seasons of his career. He went hitless in three at-bats in Sundays 5-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs to finish the year hitting .266 with 19 homers and 81 RBIs in 580 plate appearances.Braun said Sunday the rare procedure involved going into the thumb and freezing the nerve. The problem, which carried over from the 2013 season, affected his swing.Brauns subpar production was one key reason the Brewers were 9-22 down the stretch to get eliminated from the post-season after spending five months atop the National League Central. If I was relatively healthy, if I was performing up to the standard I set for myself that wed be in a different place as a team. It makes it that much more difficult for me personally to accept the way the season went, Braun said.Neither Braun nor manager Ron Roenicke knew much about the specifics of the procedure or recovery time. But Braun remained hopeful it would finally fix a lingering issue. The whole reason we hadnt done it sooner was because there isnt a lot of experience in doing this specific surgery that Im getting done, he said. The 2011 NL MVP missed the final 65 games of last season after being suspended as part of the Biogeneis doping scandal. But the extra time off didnt help. The career .307 hitter was at .301 on July 26 but tailed off the last two months of the season.I dont think we were that far off. If we get back to that, we still have a really nice player, Roenicke said before Sundays loss. But we do need to get back to that. ... I think he feels like if he can get this thumb issue behind him, he can be that same player again.Braun will certainly be back. Its unclear how much of a housecleaning there might be in the off-season though after the late-season swoon. Its been a hard year. It has. Its been the hardest since Ive been here, said fourth-year manager Roenicke.Milwaukee finished in third place in the division at 82-80, out oof the playoffs for the third straight year. Tavon Austin College Jersey. On Sunday, Anthony Rizzo had a two-run homer among his three hits to lead the Cubs. Rizzo went deep to centre off Mike Fiers (6-5) in the first.Jacob Turner (6-11) allowed four hits and two runs in five-plus innings. He beat Milwaukee for the second time since being traded from Miami in August. The Cubs are building for the future with Rizzo and rookie right-handed hitters Javier Baez and Jorge Soler. Chicago was 31-28 since July 28.Theres always optimism and now you can see it around everywhere. We each got to keep the course, though, Rizzo said.THE .300 MANAll-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy, playing first base, went 2 for 4 to finish the year hitting .300. Roenicke started him at first in the finale hoping he could reach the .300 plateau. Lucroy over the weekend set the single-season record for most doubles by a catcher with 46.I mean its great and dandy but for me it doesnt really matter right now, Lucroy said, because Im still going to go home and be (mad) for a month until I calm a little bit from the way its been the past month.BREWER FINALE?Second baseman Rickie Weeks didnt play in what may well have been his last game with the Brewers, who are unlikely to pick up his option next year. The right-hander spent the season in a platoon with young left-handed hitter Scooter Gennett. Weeks was drafted second overall by Milwaukee in 2003.TRAINERS ROOMCubs: Three players finished the season on the disabled list. OFs Justin Ruggiano (left foot) and Ryan Sweeney (hamstring) have been sidelined since late August. RHP James McDonald spent the whole season sidelined with shoulder inflammation.UP NEXTCubs: Stocked with promising prospects, Chicago finished 73-89 for the year, seven wins better than 2013.Brewers: When asked before the game, Roenicke said it was uncomfortable not knowing about his immediate future. GM Doug Melvin said this weekend that the fates of Roenicke and the coaching staff had not been decided. Roenicke is under contract through next season.___Follow Genaro Armas at http://twitter.com/GArmasAP Authentic Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Tennessee Titans Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Washington Redskins Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Arizona Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Denver Broncos Jerseys CheapAuthentic Nike Green Bay Packers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike New England Patriots Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Oakland Raiders Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Seattle Seahawks Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Carolina Panthers Jerseys Cheap Authentic Nike Cleveland Browns Jerseys Cheap Cheap Throwback Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Atlanta Braves Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Baltimore Orioles Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago Cubs Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Chicago White Sox Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Cincinnati Reds JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Cleveland Indians Jerseys ' ' '
