    • TORONTO - As soccer star Christine Sinclair was announced as an inductee to Canadas Walk of Fame on Tuesday, she marvelled that her gutsy performance at the 2012 London Olympics is still being talked about. Orioles Tanner Scott Jersey . "For it to still be relevant is still shocking to me," she said. Sinclair joins legendary cancer activist Terry Fox, music producer Bob Ezrin, actor Victor Garber, pianist Oscar Peterson, actor Alan Thicke and human-rights advocates Craig and Marc Kielburger as the latest honorees to join the Walk of Fame. Sinclair — who led Canada to a bronze medal at last summers Olympics — said the Walk of Fame recognition is a reflection of what she and her teammates achieved in London. "It helped put womens soccer on the map," Sinclair, 30, said of Canadas performance. "And for mothers to come up to us after the Olympics and tell us, my daughter wants to play soccer because she thinks she can win a medal at the Olympics — thats incredible." Sinclair, along with the Kielburger brothers, are younger than most Walk of Fame inductees. But she doesnt want it to be a lifetime achievement award. "Ive got a long way to go still," Sinclair said, laughing. Craig Kielburger said his induction only fuels his own advocacy work, founding Free the Children and Me to We. "So much of our work is trying to get young people to follow their passions," said Kielburger, 30. "To be celebrated at a young age for the work that we do, I hope that it sends a symbol to other people not to wait." For 15 years, Canadas Walk of Fame has celebrated Canadians who have excelled in music, sport, film, television, as well as the literary, visual, performing arts, science and innovation, for at least a decade. But while Kielburger doesnt quite fit into that range, it is a reflection of a national identity. "Part of what I think makes us Canadian is our compassion," said Kielburger. "Celebrating that at the highest level is a wonderful ideal, because it shows young Canadians that that is quintessentially Canadian." Dan McGrath, chair of Canadas Walk of Fames board of directors, takes great pleasure in the range of people the Walk recognizes. "Weve got a great balance of Canadians from many disciplines. We dont just focus on just music, or just the arts, and its really people who have made a difference in Canada," he said. Typically, the Canadian Walk of Fame honours one posthumous inductee with the Cineplex Legends award, but this year two are being welcomed: Fox and Peterson. "We decided to have two this year because we wanted to have a special recognition of Terry Fox as part of our 15-year anniversary," said McGrath. "Terry is just an incredible, incredible individual who inspired the entire country." With the introduction of smartphone voting, McGrath said participation for this years slate spiked, with nearly 30,000 Canadians from 130 countries submitting a nomination. Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen of Mission, B.C., was announced as the fourth winner of the Allan Slaight Award, which recognizes young and inspirational Canadians. Past recipients include the rapper Drake and jazz-pop singer Nikki Yanofsky. Jepsen will be performing at the award ceremony on Sept. 21 at the Elgin Theatre. This year also marked the first year the Walk of Fame has awarded the $25,000 RBC Emerging Artist Music Mentorship Prize, which gives up-and-coming musicians an opportunity to learn from established Canadian talent. Last week, Taylor Kurta, a 20-year-old self-taught guitarist and singer from Thornhill, Ont., won the cash prize and the chance to be mentored by Gord Sinclair of the Tragically Hip. The names of this years Walk of Fame inductees will be engraved on stars and displayed with those bearing the names of previous winners along King Street West and Simcoe Street in Toronto. Past inductees include rocker Bryan Adams, TV host Alex Trebek, comedian Phil Hartman and hockey great Bobby Orr. The induction ceremony will be broadcast nationally on Global Television and Slice this fall. Orioles Jonathan Villar Jersey . Wall made the comment in a speech to a Regina business crowd that included Lesnar. The U.S. wrestler and retired mixed martial artist says he was visiting his brothers farm in Saskatchewan and decided he wanted to hear what the premier had to say. Orioles Mychal Givens Jersey . Samir Nasris 88th-minute equalizer at Etihad Stadium will be of little consolation to City, which is now six points behind league leader Liverpool and four points behind second-place Chelsea. Third-place City has a game in hand but the surprise result against Sunderland, coupled with Sundays 3-2 loss at Liverpool, may be a setback too far in its bid for a second championship in three seasons. CLEVELAND -- Pitching to J.D. Martinez didnt work out very well for the Cleveland Indians on Friday night. Facing Victor Martinez wasnt a very good idea either. J.D. Martinez hit a three-run homer, Victor Martinez added a two-run shot and the Detroit Tigers held on for a 6-4 victory. Rick Porcello (9-4) pitched six scoreless innings for the Tigers and Joe Nathan worked the ninth for his 15th save. But it was a big Martinez night for Detroit. Victor Martinez homered off Corey Kluber (6-5) in the fourth inning. J.D. Martinezs home run, following an intentional walk to Victor Martinez, came in the eighth off John Axford. J.D. Martinez was 3 for 4, extending his hitting streak to 10 games during which hes batting .447 (17 for 38) with four homers and raised his average to .317. "You see occasionally players get on a hot streak like this and I hope hes hot tomorrow," Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said. Victor Martinez, providing a big threat behind Miguel Cabrera, has 18 home runs and 47 RBIs with a .328 average. "When the season started I said the only guy who can protect Miguel is Miguel, but Im going to say now the other person who can protect Miguel would be Victor," Ausmus said. "So theres at least two." Indians manager Terry Francona agreed. "Hes the perfect guy behind Miggy," Francona said. "Miggys Miggy. He has that reputation and its well deserved, but Victor can hit all pitching. He can hit for power. He puts the bat on the ball when need be from both sides of the plate." Victor Martinez, who played for the Indians from 2002-09, is hitting .366 (70 for 191) with eight homers and 44 RBIs in 52 career games against his former team. Detroits designated hitter also continued his mastery over Kluber. Hes batting .471 (8 for 17) with two homers lifetime against the right-hander. "I dont think hes biased," Francona said. "Hes good against everybody." Victor Martinez belted Klubers first pitch deep into the seats in right field. The Indians walked him intentionally in the eighth, but J.D. Martinez ruined that strategy with his seventh home run. The Tigers took a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth, but Asdrubal Cabrera hit a three-run homer and Carlos Santana had a solo shot off Ian Krol. Joba Chamberlain retired the final hitter of the inning and then Nathan struck out Michael Boourn with a runner on to end the game. Orioles Jace Peterson Jersey. "My stress level got a little bit up in the eighth," Ausmus said. The Tigers returned to Progressive Field for the first time since they were swept in a three-game series last month. Detroit was 27-12 and held a seven-game lead in the AL Central, but suffered two walk-off losses, including a balk that scored the winning run in the 13th inning in the series finale. The sweep began a 10-20 tailspin which dropped the Tigers out of first place for the first time his season. Porcello, who is 9-3 lifetime against Cleveland, won for the first time since May 29 and for the second time in his last six starts. He was 7-1 with a 2.91 ERA in his first eight starts, but went 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA in the next five. Porcello allowed six hits, struck out three and walked one. "I had a good fastball," Porcello said. "My changeup was a big pitch. The way the guys played defence was fantastic too." Indians left fielder Michael Brantley singled as a pinch-hitter with two outs in the ninth, his first appearance since sustaining a concussion Monday. Porcello is 4-0 with a 1.47 ERA in five starts against Cleveland since 2013. Kluber hasnt won since May 30 after recording victories in four straight decisions. He gave up eight hits, struck out six and walked one. Ian Kinsler had an RBI double in the ninth. Tigers right fielder Torii Hunter missed his fourth straight game with a strained right hamstring. The crowd of 33,545 was the second-largest at Progressive Field this season, topped only by the home opener. NOTES: The Indians will induct Omar Vizquel into their Hall of Fame before Saturday nights game. He played for Cleveland from 1994-2004, won 11 Gold Gloves as a shortstop and finished his career with 2,877 hits. "Im very honoured," said Vizquel, the first base and infield coach for the Tigers. "Playing here was the highlight of my career."... Tigers C Alex Avila strongly disputed an Internet report that he is tipping pitches by tapping his glove. "Ive heard some crazy things, but that takes the cake," he said. "I think people are just searching for something."... The Indians recalled RHP Vinnie Pestano from Triple-A Columbus and optioned RHP Zach McAllister there. ... Tigers RHP Justin Verlander (6-7) takes on RHP Trevor Bauer (2-3) on Saturday. Verlander is 2-5 with a 7.83 ERA in his last seven starts. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • Does the violence a player experiences on a football field breed a violent attitude and eventually violent actions off the field? I wonder sometimes if it should be a consideration, a topic for discussion given the domestic public actions of a few players. Tristan Thompson Jersey . It is true that in many - in fact I say the majority of positions - on a team you have to internally develop an intense insensitivity to hitting and being hit. It is called football but it could be called "hitball" because all you do is hit other people to get the ball and when you have the ball you can expect to get hit. Ike Taylor was going after the ball and got hit by his own guy, his own teammate and broke his arm on Sunday night in Carolina. I do wonder if year after year if it does not change a person and their perception in an emotional moment of right and wrong. Now this is not a rationalization or excuse in regard to Ray Rice or others but more an inquiry as to why an action is taken that has such dramatic consequences. In my time as a player you did come across a player of two where you had to wonder if it was only a matter of time before the police would be visiting his home. And among players it was looked at as a weakness and with disdain, that on our team we had a guy that could not control his temper and anger on the field. Yes, a thought or comment was made that it was just a matter of time that his attitude would get him in trouble - truly a minority of people in the extreme. I do think football can change you in personality and values. Over time as a player you do need to switch on before you play, switch off when you leave the field. Still I found switching off very easy, switching on taking some emotionally concentrated effort and purpose. One of the aspects I enjoyed about playing football were the people and the personality changes you saw from nice guy to not so nice guy, amazing to watch and experience. And after the game the not-so-nice guy was gone and the normal nice guy returned. All the time? No, but almost all the time. I do think that many of the issues facing the NFL are very similar to the issues facing society. I am more aware of meeting the wrong person at the wrong time in daily life than I ever was in a football atmosphere. Still, I cant help but wonder if the demands of the sport dont warp the mind a little, and a little mind warping is a lot. Again this is not to justify or create an excuse. People I have spoken to all agree that the Rice incident is shocking and repulsive but because it happened as time moves on you do wonder why and how a man with so much to lose in a moment would lose it all. I do believe that the surrounding associations and environment you grow up in just may be the biggest influence in life. It the case of football because the aggressiveness and violence is rewarded it may and can change you. It has logic. The league will introduce programs and courses and hire specialists and this and that. All good. Still players also must realize whether it is football, boxing, hockey or MMA the sport they are participating in is not the norm. It is an event that has a beginning and ending that need a temper or anger switch to be turned on and turned off. Yes, hitting people can be a rush, but the rush has to stay on a field, in a ring or on the ice. If it is, then no problem. If it is not, big problem. Pro athletes are not raving maniacs of evil intent, quite the opposite. Yet, you do conclude that some handle the demands better than others. And the demands can change you at the most inopportune time. Not a rationalization, just a theory. J.R. Smith Jersey . The club says its first-choice centre back "underwent medical tests on Wednesday morning" which confirmed he has injured his right hamstring. The injury was caused in the second minute of Tuesdays 4-1 league win over Real Sociedad in the Camp Nou when teammate Sergio Busquets accidentally struck Mascherano just above the knee with an outstretched boot. Kyrie Irving Jersey . The Missouri Tigers Defensive End and SEC Defensive player of the year is eligible for the upcoming NFL draft in May.PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. -- Calder Brooks and Leon Draisaitl scored 13 seconds apart in the third period as the Prince Albert Raiders edged the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 3-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action. • SAN DIEGO -- Andrew Cashner was back on the mound for the San Diego Padres, who found just enough offence late in the game to beat the Washington Nationals. Patrick Beverley Jersey . Yonder Alonso homered with two outs in the ninth inning to tie the game and Cameron Maybin hit an RBI bloop single with two outs in the 11th to give the Padres a 4-3 victory Saturday night. Chase Headley started the winning rally when he singled to left with two outs off Craig Stammen (0-2). Alonso walked before Maybin singled in front of right-fielder Jayson Werth. Headley easily beat the throw home. "I managed to get just enough bat on it," Maybin said. "It feels real great. Were grinding, man. It was bigger to get a win tonight. Weve been scuffling but weve been battling every night. For me it was huge because we have a chance to win the series tomorrow." Joaquin Benoit (2-0) pitched a perfect 11th for the win. Alonso tied the game at 3 in the ninth when he homered into the Jack Daniels party deck atop the right-field wall on a 1-1 pitch from Rafael Soriano. It was Alonsos fifth homer and Sorianos second blown save in 14 opportunities. Alonsos shot denied Washington rookie Blake Treinen his first big league win. Treinen was on track for the win after Ian Desmond hit a 432-foot, two-run home run with two outs in the seventh inning to give the Nationals a 3-2 lead. Cashner left with a 2-0 lead after six innings in his return from the disabled list. The tall Texan allowed only two hits, struck out five and walked one on 70 pitches. Out since mid-May with a sore right elbow, Cashner retired his final 16 batters and lowered his ERA to 2.13. "Its good having him back out there," Maybin said. "Hes a bulldog. Were confident whenever that guys out there." Cashner got in trouble in the first inning when the Nationals had runners on second and third with one out. But catcher Rene Rivera threw out Kevin Frandsen when he strayed too far off third and Ryan Zimmerman forced Adam LaRoche at second to end the inning. "It was fun to get back," Cashner said. "First inning there was a little trouble, but it was a big throw by Rene getting that out there. I think my fastball had the most movement Ive had in a long time." Nick Vincent replaced Cashner and surrendered the lead in a span of five batters. LaRoche doubled with one out and scored on Ryan Zimmermans double to right. With two outs, Desmond homered well over the 396 sign in centre field. The Padres had the potential winning run on second after Rivera doubled off the left-field wall with one out in the 10th. Chris Denorfia struck out and Everth Cabrera flied out to left. Rivera was stranded at third in the eighth after he doubled to left and was sacrificed by pinch-hitter Denorfia. Cabrera flied out to centre and Carlos Quentin, pinch-hitting for left-hander Will Venable against righty Tyler Clippard, struck out. Treinen was making his third career start. He allowed two runs and five hits in six innings, struck out one and walked one. After his last start on May 22 his spot was skipped due to two days off. San Diego took a 2-0 lead against the rookie in the fourth on RBI doubles by Headley and Maybin. "I felt good physically," Treinen said. "I felt like I was getting myself in trouble by getting behind in counts. But I made pitches when I needed to and then in that one inning I threw some pitches out over the plate." NOTES: The Padres drafted Johnny Manziel, the Cleveland Browns quarterback and 2012 Heisman Trophy winner while at Texas A&M, in the 28th round of the MLB draft, the 837th player taken. ... The Nationals drafted Ryan Ripken, the son of Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr., in the 15th round. ... Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon sat out with a sore right hand. He was struck trying to field Carlos Quentins smash in the fourth inning and committed a throwing error. He committed a fielding error the next inning. Manager Matt Williams said Rendons hand was swollen and "pretty sore." ... To make room for Cashner, LHP Jason Lane was designated for assignment. ... The series concludes Sunday when RHP Jordan Zimmermann (4-2, 3.59) is scheduled to start against lefty Eric Stults (2-6, 5.03). Custom Clippers Jerseys . -- John Fox will coach the Denver Broncos from the sideline and not the booth upon his return Sunday five weeks after heart surgery. Clippers Jerseys . -- Zach Johnson asked his short-iron approach on the par-4 18th to "Do something right, baby.SALT LAKE CITY -- For the first time this season, basketball was fun for Gordon Hayward and the Utah Jazz. "Once you see that ball go in, the hoop gets wider and guys are feeding off the energy. It started to become really fun," Hayward said. Hayward had 27 points and 10 assists and Richard Jefferson added 22 points to help the Utah Jazz claim their first victory of the season, a 111-105 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. "Its definitely fun when guys are making shots and youre whipping the ball around from side to side. And we were getting some stops too," said Hayward, who scored 22 points in the second half to help the Jazz erase a 16-point deficit to put an end to their worst start in 39 years. "Its about time!" Hayward said. Derrick Favours made a key layup with 24 seconds remaining and Jefferson added three free throws in the final minute to clinch the victory. When Marvin Williams hit a 3-pointer to make it 104-100, Jazz fans leapt to their feet and the Utah reserves bounced around and high-fived like college players in a post-season tournament. "We finally got that monkey off our back," said Favours, who had 12 points and 12 rebounds. "We knew sooner or later the chemistry would show and people were going to hit shots they normally make." Enes Kanter had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who overcame their worst start to a season since 1974-75, their first year as an expansion franchise in New Orleans. Anthony Davis had 29 points and 15 rebounds for the Pelicans, who dropped all three games on their Western road swing. Tyreke Evans, an off-season trade acquisition who has struggled to find his role in the New Orleans scheme, had a season-high 19 points, with almost all of them coming on drives to the basket. Jrue Holiday added 19 points for a Pelicans team that was in control for most the game. "We had the momentum the whole game," Davis said. "We got to make sure they have no life in them, but we let up and let them back in." Jason Smith made a layup just after halftime to give New Orleans a 61-45 lead. As the most experienced player on the team, Jefferson took a strong stand in the ensuing timeout huddle. "There is no more Lets get it next time. This is unacceptabble! This is our time right now," he told his teammates, according to Hayward. Louis Williams Jersey. . Jefferson became the focal point of a dormant Utah offence in the third quarter and scored nine points in a 13-2 run. "He led us tonight. We followed his lead. Hes been through it all over the years," Hayward said. The last time Jefferson scored 22 points was more than three years ago as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. But the young Jazz relied on the 12-year veteran, as well as the contributions of fellow "old-timer" Williams, who had 12 points and a key block on Holiday in the final minute. "The young guys will eventually be great, but this team needs veterans. We need to take over in spots," Jefferson said. The Pelicans built the lead back to 10 before Hayward tied the game at 70 with his second 3-pointer during a burst of 10 straight points for the Jazz. Diante Garrett was set to play for Iowa of the D-League but arrived in Salt Lake City on Tuesday and ended up playing 22 minutes for the Jazz, who need a point guard while they await the debut of lottery pick Trey Burke. Burke is a few weeks from playing while recovering from a fractured finger. The Jazz released Jamaal Tinsley and benched John Lucas III after an 0-for-7 shooting start in the game. "I was shopping at Wal-Mart two nights ago when I got the call," said Garrett, who had seven points and five assists and was running the point in crunch time. "I havent even had a practice yet but the coach was just drawing up plays on the white board in timeouts for me." His sense of relief at getting through his first game in Utah was only exceeded by his teammates getting their first taste of victory. "Its been tough to sleep at night as a member of the only NBA team without a win. I hate losing and maybe Ill finally sleep well tonight," Hayward said. NOTES: Two of the worst-shooting teams in the league combined to make more than half their attempts, with the Jazz shooting 51.4 per cent. ... Hayward spent part of the first half with an ice bag on his shin following a collision in the first quarter. ... Greg Stiemsma sat out the game due to a left knee he sprained in Tuesdays loss to the Lakers. ... The final margin was Utahs largest lead of the game. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys ChinaCheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys ChinaPanthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • After the Penguins defeat in Game 6, it was reported that the teams principle owner and former captain, Mario Lemieux, came down to the locker room to calm the 26-year-old captain down. Twins Matt Magill Jersey . During their talk, Lemieux was reported to have discussed with Crosby how a captains erratic behaviour can negatively impact the team.Lemieuex told Crosby... "You cant behave the way you did at the end of the game, it gives off a bad vibe to your teammates, it gives off a vibe that might be portraying you in a negative light, especially when youre struggling."Lemieux followed that up with a statement that Crosby has most likely understood since the first time he stepped foot onto an NHL rink. "..star players just have to fight through things like this"Super Mario has been Sidney Crosbys mentor ever since the Penguins selected him first overall in 2005, and he certainly can empathize with the Penguins current captain on what it feels like when emotions get the best of a player during a heated contest.Theres no better example of Lemieux letting his emotions get the better of him than during this bout between him and then referee, Kerry Fraser. The incident started when Lemieux received a high-sticking penalty, and while he sat in the box Fraser skated over and shared a few words that sent the Penguins captain into an uncontrollable rage. Lemieux shot out of the penalty box towards Fraser before being restrained by teammates and promptly sent to the dressing rooms with a game-misconduct penalty. The 1993-94 season was a trying one for Lemieux, just one year removed from announcing he had been diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma while also coming off of an off-season surgery to fix a herniated muscle in his back. The injury to his back caused Lemieux to miss fifty-eight games that season and his mounting frustration with his injuries began to show, especially in his incident with Fraser. There was another occurrence earlier in Lemieuxs career where he let his frustration boil over, one that would serve Crosby as a sobering reminder of what can happen when a star player picks a fight with the wrong guy. During a regular season game between the Capitals and Penguins, an irritated Lemieux engaged in a shoving match with Bob Gould that turned into a fist fight. The end result? A broken Jaw for Lemieux and a night spent at George Washington University Hospital.Crosby definitely already knows what it feels like to have a broken jaw, and were sure it wasnt too enjoyable. The last thing the Penguins need in Game 7 is their captain engaging in unnecessary fights. So, to Sid the Kid, it may be best to take Lemieuxs advice, as he certainly knows what happens when keeping it real goes wrong. Twins Ervin Santana Jersey . As TSN reported Thursday, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport is under intense pressure from the federal government to focus drug testing on athletes who compete in international events representing Canada. Since funding for the tests has been frozen and the cost of testing can eclipse $1,000 per test, university athletes in a number of sports are being tested less often.INDIANAPOLIS - The Colts understand what Arian Foster is capable of.The Indianapolis defence has focused on stopping the rush all season, but the Texans running back poses a different challenge. He has the speed and can break tackles, Colts defensive co-ordinator Greg Manusky said. Great eyes, great vision, hes great out of the backfield. Hes an individual thats a pretty good player in this league that we have to take care of this week. The Colts (9-4) can clinch the AFC South title with a win or tie over Houston (7-6) on Sunday. First, Indy must find a way to contain Foster, who has proved what he can do with big games against Indianapolis. He averages 6.4 yards a carry in games against the Colts and has topped 100 yards five times, including 109 yards — with two touchdowns — in the Colts 33-28 win on Oct. 9.Four years ago, Foster piled up 231 yards against the Colts — the last time the Indianapolis allowed a rusher more than 200 yards. Now hes one of the top running backs in the AFC and leads the conference with 92.6 yards rushing per game since 2010.For linebacker Jerrell Freeman, keeping Foster from getting into a groove is simple.Everybody just has to do their job, he said. Everybody has to know their gaps, stay in it.The Colts have held opponents under 100 yards rushing in seven of 13 games this season, but Indy allowed the Texans to run for 136 yards when the two teams met in October. Twins Kirby Puckett Jersey. Foster was upgraded to limited practice time on Thursday after missing Wednesday with a groin injury.Freeman said the best thing the Colts can do is to just stick to the same defensive approach the team has gone with all season.Just be disciplined, he said. I think thats the big thing. Be disciplined, know your job, and do your job. As long as we just play together, well be able to stop the run.Colts safety Mike Adams has seen Fosters ability unfold right in front of him before. He saw in Indys first meeting with the Texans this season when Foster scored on a 12-yard run.I see him just reading the defence and just reading us, Adams said. And thats what he does and thats what hes good at — cutting back, one stop downhill, taking off. Hes been doing that for a while and thats definitely what I see. I can see him about to make his cut or in the process of making his cut.NOTES: Sergio Brown, LaRon Landry, and Darius Butler didnt practice Thursday because of an illness. . • JERSEY CITY, N. Rangers Nolan Ryan Jersey .J. -- This incarnation of the Winnipeg Jets hasnt made the playoffs in two years, and the franchise didnt qualify for the previous five seasons when it was in Atlanta. That would seem to create some urgency for general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff. But Cheveldayoff is going into Sundays NHL draft with the long-term future in mind. "Ultimately youre here to restock and stock your teams with young talent and future building blocks for your organization," he said. "That is really the first and foremost topic on our minds." With the No. 13 pick, three in the second round and 10 overall, the Jets have plenty of ammunition to make trades. But Cheveldayoff seems comfortable focusing more on the future than the present. Thats easy with a "good memory." Cheveldayoff will oftentimes think about acquiring a player and then look to see that he was drafted in one of the first two rounds, reminding him that patience is a valuable asset. "It does take time, theres no question about it, but in a cap world, it is impulse that really sets you in the wrong direction," he said. "When you have the opportunity to have good young players, now thats the key: Youve got to draft right, you have to develop right. That is the way youll be able to live and thrive in a cap world." Sure, Cheveldayoff would like to find some more depth at right wing and get deals done with some restricted free agents like defenceman Zach Bogosian, right-winger Blake Wheeler and centre Bryan Little. But this weekend is about drafting young players, many of whom wont be able to contribute at the NHL level for at least a couple of years. "We spent a lot of time with our scouts, our scouts have spent the whole year putting their hearts and souls into the list," Cheveldayoff said. "Theyre out in the rinks, theyre out pounding the pavement, going through the snowstorms to try and find that player that is going to put us over the top. And that needs to be respected as well. Were very focused on working to keep our RFAs, working to build through the draft, and working to build an organization that is strong and has lots of depth, and this is the time that it starts right here." Cheveldayoff has already told his scouting staff to be prepared if the team doesnt use all 10 picks it has at its disposal. Thats not a problem for director of amateur scouting Marcel Comeau. "Were all in this together and we all want to see the team get better as soon as it can get better," Comeau said. "Whatever pieces we can add, thats all for the good, as far as Im concerned. Our job is to acquire assets for management to manage. Were looking forward to adding some more pieces and then see what we can make out of those pieces." The Jets are still glowing from the 2012 draft when defenceman Jacob Trouba was available for them to select ninth overall. Hes expected to make the team out of training camp next season. "We were real excited. We just had a feeling that was going to be the guy we were going to get, for some reason," Comeau said. "We just thought he was our guy. Sure as heck, he was, so we were certainly happy to get him. He certainly hasnt disappointed us here. Hes going to be a great addition to the Winnipeg Jets." Winnipeg may not get a player as polished as Trouba or 2011 first-rounder Mark Scheifele at No. 13 or in the second round, but Comeau and Cheveldayoff are confident theyll continue to build the system. "Choices change hands. We have a few more opportunities this year, we still put the work in to get the list where we want it and certainly we have a chance to add some more assets," Comeau said. "You dont know if theyre going to be there, but you put the work in regardless, prepare as best you can and be sure that youre good to go." Rangers Austin Bibens-Dirkx Jersey . • CHICAGO -- Anthony Rizzo wasted little time in getting to Adam Wainwright. Padres Francisco Mejia Jersey . Rizzo hit a two-run single in the first that ended Wainwrights scoreless streak at 25 innings, and the Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5 Friday for their third win in four games. "Im not trying to do too much," Rizzo said. "See the ball and hit it, really try to swing at the pitches I want to hit, not pitchers pitches. Especially with Wainwright, his stuff is so good hes going to eat you alive." Wainwright (5-2) had allowed six runs in 45 innings coming in, but the Cubs matched the runs total in just five innings against the St. Louis ace, who gave up 10 hits. His ERA rose from 1.20 to 2.16. "They did a nice job of spoiling some pitches," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said of his batters. "Youve got to give them all the credit. They grinded out some at-bats today and reaped some benefits." Wainwright had been 6-0 in 12 previous starts and five relief appearances at Wrigley Field. "There were certain pitches today I didnt have good command over," he said. "My curveball was kind of sporadic in the zone and out of the zone, which is pretty rare for me. Its a funny game. Today was not my day. I accept that and take responsibility for today and move on." The scoreless streak was one inning shy of the career high for Wainwright, who had not allowed an extra-base hit since April 12 against the Cubs in St. Louis. "Hes been incredibly consistent through this season so far. ... You can see pitches were just on the edge and not where he wanted them or werent getting called," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "Its a frustrating day when he knows our guys put some offence up for him and we just cant stop them. He limited the damage and figured out ways to keep us in it. We had some chances." Rizzo added a leadoff home run in the fifth that put Chicago ahead 6-3. Welington Castillo had three doubles for Chicago, which sent the skidding Cardinals to their 10th loss in 16 games. Travis Wood (2-3) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and six hits in seven innings but allowed just one runner in his final three innings. Justin Grimm gave up Jhonny Peraltas two-run homer in the eighth, Hector Rondon pitched a perfect ninth for his second save. Cubs centerfielder Ryan Sweeney made a catch on the run in the eighth on a drive to right-centre by Allen Craig. Sweeney injured his right hamstring and was replaced by Emilio Bonifacio, who moved from second. "It was great determination," Renteria said. "Hammys hurt." St. Louis overcame its early deficit, tying the game in the third when Matt Carpenter singled in a run and scored on Peraltas double. Chicago loaded the bases in the bottom half on a pair of walks around Starlin Castros single. Ryan Sweeney drove in the go-ahead run with a weak grounder to second that allowed Rizzo to score from third, and Castillo followed with a two-out, two-run double. Castros throwing error from shortstop on Randal Grichuks grounder allowed Yadier Molina to score from third and cut the deficit to 5-3 in the fourth. NOTES: Cubs GM Jed Hoyer said RHP Jose Veras (left oblique strain) will begin his rehab assignment at Double-A Tennessee and pitch at some point in the next few days, depending on how he feels. ... Cubs prospect OF Jorge Soler (hamstring) is progressing at the teams facility in Mesa, Arizona. Hoyer said "the reports have been good" and he hopes Soler will join Tennessee soon. ... RHP Jack Arrieta is to make his big league season debut for the Cubs when he starts Saturday. RHP Michael Wacha (2-2) is slated to slart for St. Louis. 19:27ET 02-05-14 Padres Randy Jones Jersey . With trainer Art Sherman in attendance, the Triple Crown contender galloped 2 3/8 miles over Belmonts main track. The chestnut colt had been galloping two miles most mornings. "I thought he looked better now than he did after the Preakness," Sherman said. "I couldnt believe how much weight he put on. He really looks good right now. Going on the Triple Crown trail, its kind of rough. Hes an amazing horse." The number of potential challengers to California Chrome for the Belmont Stakes was reduced Tuesday with the withdrawal of Kid Cruz. "We have decided to pass on the Belmont," trainer Linda Rice said. "Frankly, he didnt perform at Pimlico. It was a flat effort on his part. Well just look for an easy race for him to get him back on track. Its a long summer." Owned by Vina Del Mar Thoroughbreds and Black Swan Stable, Kid Cruz was eighth in the Preakness on May 17. He won two stakes in Maryland, the Private Terms aand Federico Tesio Stakes, that put him into the field versus the Kentucky Derby champ. Padres Franmil Reyes Jersey. "I just think his last effort was a non-effort on his part," Rice added. "Hes a nice horse, and we want to do the right thing by him. Were going to consider the Easy Goer (Belmont Stakes Day), but we may decide to wait for the Dwyer (Belmont Park on July 5)." Wicked Strong, fourth in the Kentucky Derby, galloped 1 1/2 miles on Belmonts main track Tuesday morning for trainer Jimmy Jerkens. "I galloped him at 7 oclock because I thought it was going to get kind of hot and I didnt want to wait until 9:30 or 10 oclock like we usually do the first day back after working hard," Jerkens said. "Hes doing great. "He had a pretty good excuse in the Derby. His Wood (first in Wood Memorial) was great, and hes trained really well since then. He really is training great. But, you never know until you lead them over there." Saturday should be excellent for the 1 1/2-mile "Test of the Champion." The forecast calls for sunny skies, no chance of rain and a post time temperature of near 80 degrees. Jerseys NFL China Cheap Adidas NHL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale China Jerseys NFL Jerseys China Discount Soccer Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Cheap Nike Dolphins Jerseys Cheap Nike Patriots Jerseys Cheap Nike Jets Jerseys Cheap Nike Bengals Jerseys Cheap Nike Browns Jerseys Cheap Nike Steelers Jerseys Cheap Nike Texans Jerseys Cheap Nike Colts Jerseys Cheap Nike Jaguars Jerseys Cheap Nike Titans Jerseys Cheap Nike Broncos Jerseys ' ' '

    • SHENZHEN, China -- Alvaro Quiros and Simon Dyson each shot a 5-under 67 to share the lead after the first round of the China Open on Thursday. Cheap Throwback Diamondbacks Jerseys . The pair were a stroke ahead of a group of six golfers that included defending champion Brett Rumford of Australia and Alexander Levy of France, who briefly moved into a tie with Quiros and Dyson in the growing darkness on his back nine but bogeyed the par-3 8th hole before play was suspended. He has one hole remaining to play. Englands Ian Poulter was in a group of 12 golfers just behind at 3-under on a crowded leaderboard. Henrik Stenson, who has a chance to take over the top ranking from Tiger Woods with a win here, had a 71. The Swede, currently ranked third, has been battling the flu this week and didnt get in any practice time on the course at Genzon Golf Club before the opening round. "Im not throwing up but Im not too keen on eating and my energy levels arent the best," he said. "Its not easy to play a golf course blind, and it definitely costs a couple of shots when you havent seen it, or havent played it." Chinese 15-year-old Guan Tianlang, who became the youngest player to make the cut at the Masters last year, was level with Stenson at 71. "I think today I played pretty consistently. My putting feels good, but needs a couple changes so if tomorrow I got more birdies, will keep me going," he said. Quiros has six wins on the European Tour, but hasnt had a top-3 finish in the past three seasons. The Spaniard said hes worked on improving his putting this year and the results are starting to come -- he finished tied for fifth at the Joburg Open in February and then joint 13th last week at the Malaysian Open. "You cant see it yet on the rankings, but I have been playing better," said the Spaniard, ranked a lowly 240th in the world. Dyson, who also has six wins on tour but none since 2011, said he played some of his best golf in a long time during his round, sinking six birdies to go with one bogey. "I really didnt miss a shot. I missed two fairways just, and didnt miss a green so gave myself a lot chances, which is always nice," he said. Stenson is coming off a banner year that saw him become the first golfer to win the European Tours Race to Dubai and the U.S. PGA Tours FedEx Cup in the same season. Hes gotten off to a slow start this season, however, with his best finish a tie for 14th at the Masters. According to the European Tour, Stenson can nudge Woods out of the top spot in the rankings this week only if wins the tournament and there are no withdrawals in the field to affect the maximum number of points hed receive. The Swede had back-to-back birdies on his first two holes, but then struggled to find the fairway and greens down the stretch, making four bogeys. He blamed the state of the rough for some "horrific lies." "I took a six on 13 by just being off the green -- you cant even get the ball hardly on the green to save par. I think its a course that when the rough gets that silly in certain areas, it kind of takes away a lot of skill," he said. Poulter is also looking for a boost, which he typically gets in Asia. Hes won three titles here, including the 2012 HSBC Champions at Mission Hills in Shenzhen. He had four birdies and narrowly missed a couple others, including a 6-footer on the 9th that would have moved him into a share of the lead. "Coming from Augusta National, where (the greens) are quite quick, you come here and the greens are very slow," he said. "Even the putts that look downhill, down grain, are just not very quick and it takes some adjusting to." Diamondbacks Yoshihisa Hirano Jersey .com) - Pavel Datsyuk and Gustav Nyquist both scored in the shootout as the Detroit Red Wings denied the Minnesota Wilds comeback bid with a 5-4 win on Tuesday. Diamondbacks Patrick Kivlehan Jersey . Fielder, who was diagnosed the injury last week and was placed on the disabled list last Friday, is expected to miss the rest of the season as he recovers and eventually begins rehab. The procedure on Tuesday fused the C5 and C6 discs. Acquired from the Detroit Tigers in the offseason in exchange for second baseman Ian Kinsler, Fielder last played May 16 because of the injury. The 2007 Nationall League home run champion first had an injection in his neck in an attempt to alleviate the pain, which proved unsuccessful and led to the operation. Diamondbacks Eduardo Escobar Jersey. Fielder had participated in 547 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the majors at the time, prior to sitting out the May 17 game against Toronto. Another embarrassing loss at Miami. Now Larry Bird must spend the off-season trying to figure out what went wrong and what must be fixed to finally beat the Heat in the playoffs. "You just have to go into the off-season with the mindset that were going to reload. We have a core, a system, a culture thats going to give us a chance every year," coach Frank Vogel said after Fridays 25-point, season-ending loss. "Weve got to make whatever adjustments we have to make to come back and be here again next year." There are plenty of questions heading into what could be a turbulent off-season. Will Vogel be back after leading the Pacers to 42, 49 and 56 wins in his first three full seasons as coach, capturing back-to-back Central Division titles, reaching the last two conference finals and earning the No. 1 seed for only the third time in franchise history? Will the Pacers re-sign free agent Lance Stephenson, their 23-year-old energizer, whose erratic behaviour became a major distraction in the Eastern Conference finals? Could Hibbert be on the trading block after struggling through Indianas confounding second-half swoon and nearly disappearing, at times, during the playoffs? Might Bird make other moves to cope with the NBA trend of spreading the floor, add scorers or rebuild the bench yet again? Or do the Pacers simply need more time to mature? While those answers might not come for months, one thing is clear: They must find a way to get past Miami after three straight playoff series losses, the last two in the Eastern Conference finals. "Obviously, theyre more prepared, theyre more seasoned for this moment," David West said. "Theyve been able to embrace these moments to get to a level that we, for some reason, cant compete." Bird spent last summer revamping the bench, and Indiana responded with a 33-7 start — the best in the NBA. But after signing Andrew Bynum in February and trading Danny Granger for Evan Turner at the trade deadline, the Pacers went into a confounding second-half swoon in which they looked disengaged and disinterested. Two-time All-Star Paul&nbbsp;George acknowledged Friday that the Pacers seemed to hit a wall, thinking they could turn it on whenever they needed it. Authentic Mikko Koivu Jersey. Somehow, they still managed to finish with the best record in the East, rallied to win the final two games against eighth-seeded Atlanta after twice giving away home-court advantage and rallied again against a young Washington team after giving away home-court advantage in Game 1. When they did it again by failing to close out the Heat at home in Game 2, Miami responded by winning all three of its home games decisively to clinch the series. "You know at times it feels like were there, and then theres games where it still feels like were not at that point yet," George said when asked if he thought the Pacers had closed the gap on Miami. "Coach says it, I mean, in order for us to beat this team, weve got to play like champions. More times than not, we didnt do so." Most of the problems were self-inflicted. Indiana struggled with infighting, prolonged slumps, unseemly rumours and constant criticism. Hibbert epitomized much of it. In late March, he complained about "selfish dudes" in the locker room, a barb directed at Stephenson, later apologized and was so bad, at times, in the playoffs that fans and analysts called for his benching. And its unclear what the Pacers will do after a second straight blowout in an elimination game at Miami. Bird acknowledged the Pacers were going "all in" this season when they re-signed David West, gave George a max deal and traded away their first-round pick to get Luis Scola from Phoenix. Stephenson could be the next Pacers player to strike it rich. But after calling out LeBron James publicly before Game 4, blowing in his ear in Game 5 and tapping James on his chin early in Game 6, some wonder if the Pacers even want Stephenson back. It all depends on whether Bird thinks Stephenson can help beat the Heat. "I dont know what the future holds for us," West said. "Obviously, everything starts and ends with the Miami Heat. You have to have a team that can get through a tough regular season but ultimately, you have to be able to beat Miami to get to the finals." Jerseys NFL China Cheap Adidas NHL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap MLB Jerseys WholesaleChina Jerseys NFL Jerseys China Discount Soccer Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Cheap Nike Dolphins Jerseys Cheap Nike Patriots Jerseys Cheap Nike Jets Jerseys Cheap Nike Bengals Jerseys Cheap Nike Browns Jerseys Cheap Nike Steelers Jerseys Cheap Nike Texans Jerseys Cheap Nike Colts Jerseys Cheap Nike Jaguars Jerseys Cheap Nike Titans Jerseys Cheap Nike Broncos Jerseys ' ' '

    • TORONTO -- Brayden Point is banking on the second time being the charm. Padres Franchy Cordero Jersey . The Moose Jaw Warriors forward is again at the Canadian under-18 national hockey teams training camp. Last year as an under-age player he was with the squad through its final exhibition game in Sochi, Russia -- scoring twice in regulation and once in a shootout in a 5-4 victory over Czech Republic -- before being released and returning home. Adding insult to injury for Point, the Canadians went on to win the tournament for the third time overall but first since 2008. Canadas victory also snapped the United States run of four straight gold medal finishes. "It (being released) was tough but it was an older team and there was a lot of good players," Point said following Mondays practice at the Mastercard Centre. "I understood and was just thankful to get the experience. "Meeting the Hockey Canada guys and getting to know them over the course of the trip last year was great so now its a lot more comfortable and I feel a lot more confident." The five-foot-nine, 160-pound Point was the Warriors leading scorer this year with 91 points (26 goals, 55 assists). He played in all 72 of his teams games and finished the season with an impressive 12-game point streak. The 18-year-old Calgary native has recorded 149 points (61-88) in his three seasons with Moose Jaw. He also took part in the 2014 CHL Top Prospects game. Point does have previous national under-18 experience. He was a member of the Canadian squad that won gold at the 13 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament, registering a goal and three assists in five games. And although he wasnt a part of last years under-18 world championship squad, Point is well aware of what the expectations are for this years team. "No matter what Hockey Canada event you go to, the expectation is always gold," he said. "That never changes no matter what the previous team did. "But being able to play exhibition games last year over there was an awesome experience. I think I can take the pace of the game from that experience and hopefully translate it into my game this year." Point is among 22 players who were invited to the camp -- eight from both the WHL and OHL, six from the QMJHL. Thirteen participated in last years under-17 world hockey challenge in Quebec while eight played in this years under-17 event in Cape Breton, N.S. Point is one of nine players on the roster who helped Canada win gold at the Ivan Hlinka event last summer in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. But what stands out most to head coach Kevin Dineen is the sheer size of his squad, with 14 players in camp standing six feet or taller. "I cant believe the size of these guys and when you look at their bios they were playing midget just a couple of years ago," said Dineen, the former head coach of the NHLs Florida Panthers. "But not only are they big, theyre skilled with talent. "That makes it enjoyable having guys who are able to play the game anyway we need to have success." But Dineen, who played 19 NHL seasons and led Canadas national womens team to Olympic gold in Sochi in February, has also been impressed with his players hockey smarts. "Were certainly not going to compromise and dumb things down for this group," he said. "That wouldnt be fair to them because that wouldnt be making them live up to their potential and by no means are we doing that. "Its a pretty smart, cerebral bunch and I like the chemistry . . . one of our players missed the first day and didnt understand the drill we were doing so one of his teammates said, Here, hop in and Ill show you what we have to do. Theres a little bit of that going on which were really trying to encourage." And with good reason. Dineen faces the challenge of having to mould 22 players into a team less than two weeks before the start of the world championship tournament in Lapeenranta and Imatra, Finland. "Many teams were going to face have a real advantage because theyve been centralized like the U.S. team out in Ann Arbor, Mich., and many of the European players have played together for a while and were just putting this together," Dineen said. "But for me I love this kind of stuff, its so much fun. "This is such a good bunch to be around. Theyre enthusiastic, theyre talented, theyre nervous, its the whole package. Weve all felt each other out here for the last few days. Yes, there are challenges. Weve got to gel and find some chemistry in a pretty timely manner but its a really fun group to work with and theyre very sharp kids." Canada will conclude its training camp sessions Tuesday and play exhibition games against Finland and Denmark before opening the under-18 tournament April 17 against Sweden. Padres Robbie Erlin Jersey . TORONTO -- The Toronto Argonauts have extended backup quarterback Trevor Harriss contract through next season. Harris has played in six games since joining the Argos in 2012, completing 17-of-35 passes for 256 yards and one touchdown. "Trevor has been a competitor since he joined our club prior to the 2012 season, and we have been very happy with his deveelopment as a professional," Argos general manager Jim Barker said in a release. Padres Carlos Asuaje Jersey. • CLEVELAND -- Johnny Manziel had scrambled away long before Asdrubal Cabrera came to the plate in the 12th inning. Authentic Johan Larsson Jersey . And when Cabrera connected for a three-run homer in the 12th inning, ending a game that took nearly seven hours to play, Indians manager Terry Francona was relieved to be finally leaving the ballpark. "Nice to see anyone come through," Francona said. Cabrera connected for a three-run homer with one out in the 12th, giving Cleveland a 7-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox early Thursday and a three-game sweep of the defending World Series champions. With two runners on and Boston playing five infielders and only two outfielders, Cabrera made the shift moot by driving an 0-1 pitch from Edward Mujica (2-2) into Bostons bullpen as the Indians won their sixth straight overall and ninth in a row at home. Cleveland is an AL-best 21-11 at Progressive Field. Cabrera slid into home plate after his fifth homer and was doused with water by his teammates, who were relieved to finally end a game that didnt finish until 2:02 a.m. The start of the game, originally set for 7:05 p.m., was delayed by rain until 9:33 p.m., cancelling a scheduled ceremonial first pitch by Manziel, the Browns popular rookie quarterback, who flashed his signature "money" gesture when he and his teammates were introduced to the crowd. With practice on Thursday, Manziel ducked out early and was long gone when the game ended with just a few thousand die-hard fans in the seats. The teams each used seven pitchers, who combined to throw 364 pitches. "Regardless of the time, anytime you go 12 innings, losses sting a little bit," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "We were doing everything we could to extend the ballgame. Guys came out of the bullpen and did a good job. Cabrera just got hold of a breaking ball and put an end to this one." Mujica didnt make any excuses. "That pitch was a big mistake and he hit it out," he said. "I left it over the plate. It was a little crazy, but we had to keep it going however we could." Carlos Carrasco (1-3), the Indians seventh pitcher, worked two innings. The surging Indians have trimmed seven games off first-place Detroits lead in the AL Central in 17 days. Cleveland is within 3 1/2 games and back to .500 for the first time since April 24. David Ortiz homered for the Red Sox, who came in riding a seven-game winning streak but are now headed in the wrong direction. Trailing 4-2 and in danger of leaving town winless, the Red Sox tied it in the seventh inning when they chased Indians starter Corey Kluber on Brock Holts two-run single. Kluber, who was so dominant in May going 4-0 with 60 strikeouts in 43 innings, walked Stephen Drew to start the seventh and Daniel Nava singled. Jackie Bradley Jr. sacrificed and Holt followed with his game-tying base hit to centre. Kluber got a no-decision and remained unbeaten in seven starts since April. He allowed four runs and five hits in 6 1-3 innings. Michael Brantley had three hits off Boston starter Brandon Workman, who pitched while appealing a six-game suspension for throwing at Tampa Bays Evan Longoria last week. Workman gave up three runs in five innings. Ortizs 13th homer gave the Red Sox a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Kluber blanked Boston over the first five innings but opened the sixth by hitting Xander Bogaerts in the right elbow. The right-hander retired Dustin Pedroia on a hard liner to right, but wasnt so fortunate with Ortiz, who ripped a fastball over the fence in right-centre -- a 422-foot shot -- to give the Red Sox their first lead of the series. It didnt last long. The Indians scored three runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Jason Kipnis and another clutch hit by David Murphy, who is batting .383 (18 of 47) with 31 RBIs with runners in scoring position. Brantley picked up his 23rd RBI in his past 32 games in the first with a one-out single to give Cleveland a 1-0 lead. In the fifth, Brantley helped Kluber by making a leaping catch at the left-field wall to rob Bradley of extra bases. NOTES: It was the Indians fifth walk-off win. They are 4-1 in extra inning. ... Red Sox C A.J. Pierzynski was ejected in the sixth by plate umpire Quinn Wolcott. ... Brantley is batting .349 (45 of 129) in 32 games since April 29. ... Indians RHP Zach McAllisters rehab start with Lake County (A) was rained out and pushed to Thursday. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger called Mourinhos repeated attempts to downplay Chelseas Premier League title prospects a "fear to fail." At a news conference later Friday, Mourinho snapped back: "He is a specialist in failure. Im not." Wenger, who has been in charge at Arsenal since 1996, has not won a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup. Mourinho called himself the "Special One" at the start of his first spell with Chelsea, which ran from 2004-07, and he led the Blues to their first two English league titles since 1955. Before returning to the west London club last June, Mourinho won the Champions League with Inter Milan and the Spanish league with Real Madrid. "Iff supposedly (Wenger) is right and Im afraid to fail, its because I havent failed many times," Mourinho said. Cheap Buffalo Sabres Gear. "Maybe hes right. Maybe Im not used to failing. "Eight years without a piece of silverware, thats failure ... if I dont win a trophy in four years, I dont want a new contract, even if the club wants to give me (one). Its as simple as that." Chelsea leads the Premier League with 12 matches remaining, one point ahead of Arsenal. "If we dont win a title in one year, is that a failure? Or if we dont win a title in two years, is that a failure?" Mourinho said. "I have lots of respect for (Wenger) and I think he is a great manager. • TORONTO - On Saturday afternoon, less than three years after winning an unlikely championship together in Dallas, Dwane Casey and Jason Kidd will sit on opposite ends of the Air Canada Centre sideline, getting set to make their postseason debut as head coaches. Authentic Jaccob Slavin Jersey . Just ahead of tip-off, as their teams stretch, shoot around and a sellout crowd - draped in white - files into the building, the two coaches will meet at centre court. Theyll shake hands, exchange a few words then return to their respective benches in the hopes of sending the other home for an early summer vacation. They havent spoken since finding out that the Raptors and Nets would face off in round one of the Eastern Conference playoffs, which isnt to say theres a lack of mutual respect between the two. On the contrary, theres actually a whole lot of it. Friendship is for the offseason, Casey always boasts. Until then, these former colleagues have a job to do, and theyre in each others way. Theyve traveled down dissimilar paths to get to this point. Casey, who celebrated his 57th birthday on Thursday, has been coaching in the NBA for over two decades. After serving as a long-time assistant under George Karl in Seattle, he spent a couple seasons as the head man with the Timberwolves, where he coached Nets veteran and future hall of famer Kevin Garnett. In 2011, his third season as Rick Carlisles lead assistant in Dallas, Casey helped guide the experienced Mavericks to an unexpected championship, with Kidd starting at point guard. Kidd, now 41, was in season 17 of his illustrious 19-year career. He was a retired NBA player for 10 days before becoming a head coach this past summer. "First of all, I texted him and [asked] him if hes lost his mind," Casey joked, asked about Kidds move to the bench earlier this season. The Nets controversial decision to hand the reins over to Kidd, fresh off his final campaign in New York, was met with more criticism than any coaching hire in recent memory. When his first season as a bench boss got off to a rocky start many called for his head, but he had a steadfast supporter in Casey, who knew it was only a matter of time before Kidd and his veteran Nets team rocketed back to top of the East. "Hes going to be a good coach because he was a computer on the floor and he just has to transfer that to his players," Casey said ahead of a late November meeting between the two teams. The Nets were 3-10 going into that game. "It takes time." "Hes one of the toughest minded guys Ive been around and Ive coached, and Ive been around some strong minded guys, but he was definitely one of them," Casey added prior to their next meeting, two months later. The Nets, 10-21 on Jan. 1, had won five in a row before losing in Toronto that night. "I knew mentally he was going to stay strong and stay into it and it would be a matter of time." Brooklyn would go on to finish the campaign with the second best record among Eastern Conference teams in 2014 and Kidd became a two-time Coach of the Month winner. As Casey met with the media Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours before Game 1, the Raptors coach was caught off guard when one reporter pointed out that he and Kidd would be sharing their playoff head coaching debuts. "I never thought about that," he said in earnest, but hes not the least bit surprised to see his counterpart in the position that hes in. "Jason was always a step ahead of the curve," said Casey, the Easts Coach of the Month for December. "I think point guards are coaches on the floor, they should be. Theyve gone through their whole career figuring out things on the fly, on the court. So I think thats the difference in Jason. Jason has been a thinker his whole career and hes doing a good job with Brooklyn." For these old friends, this series should turn into something of a chess match. The Nets rookie coach has a veteran-laden roster at his disposal. A big factor in his teams 2014 reversal of fortunes has been Kidds commitment to a small lineup, starting a couple of point guards in the backcourt and using Paul Pierce as their mobile, perimeter-oriented power forward. "I think they established an identity, much like we did," Casey told TSN.ca in an exclusive conversation Friday. "I think putting Pierce at the four position was a huge turnaround for them. Solidifying the smaller lineup really helped them." Casey has the benefit of a versatile roster. With Amir Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas, the Raptors can go against the grain and put pressure on the visiting Nets with a size and strength advantage or they can match-up using their own version of the small lineup. "Philosophy is personnel driven," Casey wisely pointed out. With Johnson and Patrick Patterson - two versatile forwards who can rebound and also step out and defend on the perimeter - Torontos coach is confident his team can utilize both their small and big units with success in this series. "Its going to be huge," he said of that versatility. "If we stay big weve got to really pound the boards and take advantage of it if they stay small but at the same time theyre such a lethal three-point shooting team. Its hard for our bigs, with our mentality to get out and guard the three-point line in those situations so were going to have to figure that out as far as when we do go small, who has the advantage. If we have an advantage on the boards or inside well try to do that but if were getting killed with three-point shooting then well have to make some adjustments." Caseys quiet confidence and poise has rubbed off on his team all season but those characteristics have never been more important than they are now. By now youve heard of their inexperience, Caseys embraced it because, what choice does he have? They cant pretend like theyve been somewhere they havent, they wont pretend to be something theyre not. If you want to count them out because of it, Casey understands, but he doesnt advise it. "I dont want to diminish [experience], its very important," he said. "In any walk of life its important if youre going to do a job at a high level to have as much experience as you can possibly have. We are who we are, we cant change it. The way our guys get experience is to go through this. But at the end of the day you still have to go out and play the game. Theres been a lot of young teams that beat older teams in the history of the game and were ready for that challenge. I think were better with a chip on our shoulder, being the desperate team. I think we struggle when were the favourite so I like that part about it. I dont even talk about it to our players, about experience. Hey, they dont know any better, so lets go play the game." Authentic Teuvo Teravainen Jersey . And while taking highly-touted Simon Fraser offensive lineman Matthias Goossen second overall on Tuesday night will definitely help in an area of need for the club, it was a swap of draft picks that may prove to be his most shrewd move. "When Jesse Briggs started to fall a little bit, you could just see Kyle perk up in his chair. Authentic Brett Pesce Jersey . Groves signed with Cleveland as an unrestricted free agent last year after a season with Arizona. He was in the linebacker rotation and had a sack in the season opener against Miami.CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks watched as their championship banner rose to the rafters at the United Center. They took another look at the Stanley Cup, and soaked in the applause from the sellout crowd. Then Johnny Oduya and Co. went out and reminded the rest of the NHL how they won that title. Oduya, Brandon Saad and Marian Hossa scored in the third period, and the Blackhawks kicked off their title defence with a 6-4 victory over Mikhail Grabovski and the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night. "We wanted a good start. I think we got that," Oduya said. "Maybe in the second we came down a little bit, the win is the key thing to that, and to keep building on that. Theres a lot of games this year, so weve got to stay strong and get better." Patrick Kane, Brent Seabrook and Brandon Bollig also scored for Chicago, which won its first game for the second straight season. Corey Crawford made 28 saves, including a couple of huge stops when the Blackhawks killed off a late 5-on-3 power play. Chicago ruined Los Angeles title celebration with a 5-2 victory in last seasons opener and then set an NHL record by recording at least one point in its first 24 games. The fast start played a key role in the Blackhawks run to the Stanley Cup, and coach Joel Quenneville made it clear in training camp that another opening surge is a priority. "The guys have always been in a good place since Day 1 of the season," Quenneville said. "Youve got to commend them on how they prepared themselves." Grabovski had three goals and an assist in his first game since he signed with Washington in August. Alex Ovechkin had a goal and an assist, but the Capitals dropped their opener for the second straight season. "They got a little bit lucky today," Grabovski said. "We need to learn from our mistakes what we did. We just need to play better the next game." Grabovski had consecutive power-play goals in the third, lifting Washington to a 3-2 lead with 14:44 left. But Saad finished a beautiful give-and-go with Michal Handzus, and Oduya converted a long slap shot at 13:53 to put the Blackhawks ahead to stay. Oduya caught a fortunate break on his 32nd birthday when his fluttering shot went in off the glove of goalie Braden Holtby on its way to the net. "It just completely fooled me," Holtby said. "I had a clean llook at the shot, it was just one of those sinkers. Authentic Justin Williams Jersey. It happened. It was one I would love to have, but I think there are a couple of others in the game that I should have done a better job on, more than that one." Hossa finished the scoring when he was dragged down from behind as he skated toward an empty net in the final minute, prompting the officials to award him with an insurance goal. Cheered on by the rollicking crowd of 22,158, the Blackhawks staged one last celebration of the franchises fifth title. The team handed out special wristbands that lit up during parts of the pregame ceremony, making the rows of seats look like a clear night sky full of stars. The wristband lights were joined by camera flashes as a group of youth hockey players presented the championship banner to the 19 returning players from last years squad, who carried it to the spot for its trip to the rafters. Front office staff and players posed for a picture with the banner hanging just over the ice. It was then raised to the top while the crowd roared. "It was amazing," Hossa said. "So much light in the stands. To stand on the ice and look at 20-something-thousand people just celebrating. Its going to stay in my heart for the memories." Chicago then brushed aside any concern of a letdown caused by the banner ceremony and grabbed the lead when Bollig stuffed home a rebound 4:06 in for his first career regular-season goal. After Ovechkin tied it with a power-play goal, Kane sent a wrist shot past Holtby to make it 2-1 at 11:06. Kane won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP when the Blackhawks made their run to the championship. Holtby made 29 saves in Washingtons first regular-season game in Chicago since March 18, 2012. NHL teams played games strictly within their own conference last season after the lockout cut the campaign nearly in half. "The first 40 minutes I thought that we played pretty good hockey," Capitals coach Adam Oates said. "If anything, our turnovers gave them momentum and gave them some life. • UNIONDALE, N. Pirates Kevin Kramer Jersey .Y. - The New York Islanders have promoted Doug Weight to assistant general manager and added Greg Cronin as an assistant to head coach Jack Capuano. Weight will also remain as an assistant coach on Capuanos staff, the Islanders said Monday. The 51-year-old Cronin spent the past three seasons as an assistant with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Before that, Cronin was the head coach at Northeastern University for six years, where he earned the Bob Kullen Coach of the Year Award in Hockey East in 2008-09. From 1999-2003, Cronin served as an assistant with the Islanders. His first head coaching position came in 2003 when he led the Islanders Bridgeport AHL affiliate. In two seasons with the Sound Tigers, he was 78-61-12. Cronin also was an assistant with the U.S. National Development Program Under-18 team, the University of Maine, and Colorado College. He got his start as an assistant at Colby College. Pirates Gregory Polanco Jersey . -- The Windsor Spitfires were left with just one goaltender Tuesday after having their starter walk out on them midway through Game 3 of their Ontario Hockey League playoff matchup with the London Knights. Pirates Elias Diaz Jersey .In a statement released Friday, the Catalan club said the Brazil stars recovery would be monitored to determine when he can begin training again.MINNEAPOLIS -- Brian Dozier doesnt like talking about his power-hitting abilities. When told his manager referred to him as Minnesotas "igniter" over the past couple of games -- during which he homered on consecutive nights -- the Twins second baseman looked embarrassed. "The igniter? Oh goodness," Dozier said Saturday night after hitting a three-run homer that proved to be the game-winning hit in Minnesotas 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners. Then he was told "The Ignitor" was the nickname for Hall of Famer Paul Molitor, the former Twins player and current coach. "Thats pretty cool. . Ill take it," Dozier said with a laugh. So will the Twins. Doziers homer in the fifth inning put Minnesota ahead for good, Samuel Deduno tossed six sharp innings for his first win as the Twins moved a game over .500 -- a rarity in these parts over the past three years. With Minnesota trailing 2-1, Dozier followed consecutive singles by Aaron Hicks and Eduardo Escobar by sending a curveball from Roenis Elias (3-3) into the seats in left field. It was Doziers 11th homer of the season. "Hes our igniter," Gardenhire said. "If we can get the bottom of the order to get on base, and roll it over, hes going to come up with more and more RBI opportunities and thats kind of what were looking for, and tonight he delivered." Dozier had a solo homer on Friday night; Saturday night marked the fifth time in his career he homered in consecutive games. His 20 home runs at Target Field ties him for fourth all-time with former Twins slugger Justin Morneau. He leads the A.L. with 40 runs scored. "My job is to get on base, whether its my hits or anything, on base is my biggest stat," said Dozier, who extended his current hitting streak to a season-high eight games. Michael Saunders had a homer and two RBIs for Seattle. Deduno (1-2) struck out four, allowed two hits and retired 18 of the 23 batters he faced. Both of Seattles runs off Deduno came in the third inning after James Jones triple scored Brad Miller.. Pirates Kyle Crick Jersey. Jones scored on Saunders sacrifice fly to give the Mariners a one-run lead. But Deduno was otherwise solid, working efficiently through Seattles lineup over the next three innings while Elias struggled with his control. Elias allowed six hits and one walk in seven innings, but he also hit a batter, and had a wild pitch and a balk in the second inning. Elias teammates and manager sounded pleased with his performance, even saying his curveball that Dozier homered on was a good pitch. "I went back right after that inning to check where it was and I thought it was a really good pitch," catcher Mike Zunino said. "(Dozier) just dropped the head on it and was able to elevate it." Seattle pulled to 4-3 in the eighth when Saunders hit a solo homer off Jared Burton. Corey Hart doubled two batters later, but Burton got Kyle Seager swinging to end the threat. Glen Perkins worked the ninth for his 12th save in 14 chances. The Mariners have lost four straight. "Well figure it out. Its a little tough right now," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said. "One thing I pointed out right from the start, winning games at this level is tough. One thing here and one thing there will cause you to lose. Well figure this offence out and well be OK." • Highland Heights, KY (SportsNetwork. Authentic Valtteri Filppula Jersey .com) - Juwan Staten finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists as No. 16 West Virginia overcame a slow start to defeat Northern Kentucky, 67-42, on Sunday. Devin Williams also finished with 12 points and Jonathan Holton supplied 10 points, five rebounds and three blocks for the Mountaineers (8-1), who bounced back from a 74-73 loss to LSU on Thursday. Chad Jackson paced the Norse (3-5) with 12 points and nine rebounds, but turned the ball over six times and Jordan Jackson scored 10 off the bench in the loss. Neither team was able to locate the basket early on as it was just an 8-8 game with 8:31 to play in the first half. After Jared Bryants free throw, West Virginia finally started to pull away with eight straight points. Daxter Miles Jr. hit a 3-pointer and then closed the spurt with a layup for a 16-9 lead with 5:35 to play. The Norse, however, cut the deficit to three points heading into the break as a pair of Chad Jackson foul shots around Anthony Monacos trey made it a 20-17 game. The Mountaineers shot 7-for-23 (30.4 percent) from the floor over the first 20 minutes, while the Norse were 6-for-25 (24 percent). Holtons tip-in was the first of nine straight West Virginia points to start the second half and Statens free throw made it a 29-17 game with over three minutes into the stanza. Jordan Jacksons layup with 12:25 to play represented Northern Kentuckys second basket of the second half as the Norse trailed 33-21. Jevon Carters shot from beyond gave the Mountaineers a healthy 46-27 lead with 8:09 to play and West Virginia led by as much as 26 down the stretch. Game Notes It was the first regular-season meeting between the programs, although North Kentucky came away with a 77-74 exhibition win on Nov. 4, 2011 ... The Mountaineers shot 23-of-59 from the floor (39 percent), while the Norse went 13-for-49 (26.5 percent) ... Joel Embiid added 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks for the Jayhawks (13-4, 4-0 Big 12), who blew most of a 47-30 halftime lead before holding on at the finish. Phil Forte hit seven 3-pointers and had 21 points for Oklahoma State (15-3, 3-2). Marcus Smart added 16 points, but he was just 3 of 14 from the field and 0 for 6 from behind the 3-point arc. Still, Smart nearly gave the Cowboys a chance. His layup with 24 seconds remaining got them within 79-75, and after Mason missed a free throw, Forte hit a 3-pointer to make it a one-point game with 5.7 seconds remaining. Mason was fouled and made the first of two free throws, and the Cowboys raced up court with the rebound on the miss. Nash tried to get off a shot from just beyond the arc as time expired, but Mason was there to pop the ball loose and preserve the victory. Markel Brown finished with 15 points for Oklahoma State while Kamari Murphy had 12 and Nash finished with 10. The testy game included six flagrant or technical fouls. The animosity between the teams really started to simmer last season, when the Cowboys came into Allen Fieldhouse and ended the Jayhawks 33-game home win streak. Smart celebrated by doing a backflip, a stunt captured on film that Kansas coach Bill Self showed his team this week. It reached a rolling boil shortly before the season, when Smart declared that Kansas Andrew Wiggins had yet to warrant the considerable hype that the star freshman had been receiving. Naturally, most figured that Smart and Wiggins would be the leading characters when their teams met. Instead, two uber-talented players expected to be chosen early in Junes NBA draft were relegated to supporting roles as their teammates stepped into the spotlight. Kansaas delivered the games first big blow midway through the first half, ripping off a 13-0 run fueled by Tariq Blacks monstrous dunk. New York Islanders Outlet Store. By the time Browns turnover led to a run-out basket by Black and a 29-15 lead with just under 8 minutes left in the half, a sellout crowd that included Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was roaring its approval. In fact, the noise was so deafening that Brown didnt hear Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford call a timeout. He instead raced up court and found himself in the midst of the Kansas huddle, and wound up triggering a benches-clearing fracas that the officials had to separate. Brown and the Jayhawks Jamari Traylor were each hit with technical fouls. Things didnt cool off, either. Later in the half, Smart was hammered by Wayne Selden on his way to the rim. Selden was promptly shoved by the Cowboys Stevie Clark, drawing another technical. Kansas led 47-30 at halftime. The Cowboys tried to mount a comeback on the second half. Forte got hot from behind the arc, and Brown hit four 3-pointers in the span of a few minutes, the last of them closing Oklahoma State within 59-56 with 11:02 remaining. Kansas stoically answered the challenge. Masons 3-pointer triggered seven straight points by the Jayhawks, and when Smart finally hit his first field goal with 5:53 left in the game, Embiid answered with a thunderous jam off an alley-oop pass that left the entire goal setup trembling. As the Jayhawks slowly rebuilt their lead, Oklahoma State began to lose its poise. Brown was whistled for a foul on Embiid, and voiced his frustration within earshot of official John Higgins, earning his second technical of the game. It also resulted in him fouling out. The Cowboys got within 77-73 on a basket by Smart with 1:29 left, but Tharpe answered again with a 3-pointer from the top of the key. The Jayhawks then held on in the closing seconds to put some distance on Oklahoma State in the Big 12 race. Jerseys NFL China Cheap Adidas NHL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale China Jerseys NFL Jerseys ChinaDiscount Soccer Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Cheap Nike Dolphins Jerseys Cheap Nike Patriots Jerseys Cheap Nike Jets Jerseys Cheap Nike Bengals Jerseys Cheap Nike Browns Jerseys Cheap Nike Steelers Jerseys Cheap Nike Texans Jerseys Cheap Nike Colts Jerseys Cheap Nike Jaguars Jerseys Cheap Nike Titans Jerseys Cheap Nike Broncos Jerseys ' ' '

    • EAST RUTHERFORD, N. Mets Robert Gsellman Jersey .J. -- New York Giants safety Will Hill was suspended for six games Friday by the NFL for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. Hill has failed three drug tests since 2012, and he lost an appeal for the latest infraction. He will be eligible to return on Oct. 13. Hill was suspended for violating the performance enhancers policy two years ago, missing four games. He then missed the first four matches last season because of a substance abuse violation. The Giants are expected to release Hill when his latest suspension ends. Hill has played in just 24 games since being signed in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. He had two interceptions, returning one for a TD, and played well late last season. A New Jersey product, Hill had a solid college career at Florida, but was not drafted because of off-field concerns. Last December, he was arrested, and police said they detected an odour of marijuana, though no drug charges were brought against Hill. New York seemed prepared for Hill not being available, signing and drafting several defensive backs this year. Mets Tug McGraw Jersey . 15 in Hamburg. DENVER -- Lance Lynn had such good stuff he could hardly be hit. Matt Adams was so dialed in at the plate he gave his pitcher all the offensive support he needed. The perfect combination for a rout and a rare Coors Field shutout. Lynn allowed three hits in eight innings and Adams provided the spark with two homers and a career-high six RBIs as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the slumping Colorado Rockies 8-0 on Monday night. Lynn (8-5) struck out seven and walked none before being taken out for the ninth after throwing 108 pitches. Its the first time Colorado has been held scoreless at home since July 2. "He was in complete control," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. Adams big night included a two-run single in the third, a solo shot in the fifth and a three-run homer in the seventh. This was the third multihomer game of his career. "Its just a continuation of how Ive felt recently," Adams said. "The big thing that Im happy about is Im laying off the sliders and the curve balls from the lefties. Im trying to make them come over the plate a little bit more instead of chasing what they want me to chase." Jhoulys Chacin (1-6) struggled with his control, allowing five runs in six innings. He also walked three and hit a batter. "Whenever you walk a lot of guys, and you dont make good pitches, especially against a team like St. Louis, youre going to pay for it," Chacin said. Corey Dickerson had two of the hits for Colorado, which has now dropped seven straight. This was the second time in five days the Rockies have been perplexed by a pitcher, with Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw throwing a no-hitter last Wednesday. Mixing a cutter with a sinker, Lynn bottled up one of the most potent lineups in the majors. He surrendered a one-out single to Dickerson in the first and then retired 16 straight until Charlie Blackmon and Dickerson had back-to-back singles in the sixth. Lynn got out of the jam by getting Troy Tulowitzki to fly out. "When you get a good, live fastball like (Lynn) had tonight, youre going to get a lot of guys out," Drrew Stubbs said. Mets Daniel Zamora Jersey. "He didnt make mistakes." Randy Choate got the first two outs in the ninth and Jason Motte struck out Tulowitzki to end the game. Tulowitzki flung his bat in the air in frustration. Once again, Lynn sparkled at Coors Field. He hasnt allowed a homer at the hitter friendly park in the 77 batters hes faced spanning three starts. The right-hander was aided by some fine fielding, too, like centre fielders Jon Jays sliding grab on the warning track in the seventh on Justin Morneaus deep drive. "Thats a good hitting lineup, especially here, in their ball park, where the ball travels a little bit more," Lynn said. "But as a pitcher you cant think about it. Youve just got to try to make your pitch. "I was making good pitches and when youre doing that its a good feeling." Dickerson was the only Rockies hitter who could solve him. "I felt pretty comfortable up there," Dickerson said. "But I think righties were having a tough time picking (his fastball) up." Adams had the first six-RBI performance by a Cardinals player since David Freese on June 7, 2012, at Houston. Matt Holliday added an RBI double against his former team. For the Rockies it was another stinging defeat in a month filled with them. Theyre now 6-15 in June. "If I had an answer, if any of us did, it wouldve already happened," Stubbs said. "At some point, its got to turn around. Hopefully, its sooner rather than later." NOTES: Cards MGR Mike Matheny said LHP Marco Gonzales will make his major league debut on Wednesday. Gonzales grew up in nearby Fort Collins and his father, Frank Gonzales, is a minor league pitching coach for the Rockies. ... Weiss is hopeful RHP Christian Bergman (bruised left hand) can make his start on Wednesday. Bergman was hit by a line drive on his glove hand last Friday. "Hes made a lot of improvement in the last 24-to-48 hours," Weiss said. ... • CARDIFF -- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the ultimate super-sub in his 11 years at Manchester United, his lethal finishing snatching priceless league points and famously winning his team the Champions League in 1999. Mike Hughes Jersey . Now, he is back in the Premier League and on a very different kind of rescue mission -- saving Cardiff from relegation. The 40-year-old Solskjaer was hired as Cardiffs new manager on Thursday, swapping job security at Molde and a settled family life in his native Norway for the high-pressure world of footballs richest league. "I felt I needed to be back here," Solskjaer said of his return to the Premier League. "I wish I was 25 again and playing in the Premier League," he added. "Time ticks for everyone so I cant -- now Im a lucky man to be a manager in the Premier League." Nicknamed the "Baby-faced Assassin" during his time at United from 1996-2007, it was a grey-haired Solskjaer who was presented at Cardiff City Stadium as the replacement for Malky Mackay, who was fired last week after losing a power struggle with the Welsh clubs Malaysian owner, Vincent Tan. Solskjaer has signed a rolling, season-by-season contract, with his first task to ensure Cardiff retains its Premier League status following its return to Englands top flight for the first time in 51 years. Cardiff is 17th in the 20-team Premier League -- a point and a place above the relegation zone after 20 games. If he achieves that, his next aim will be to establish the team from the Welsh capital as a force in the division. And he is pledging to do so by playing an attacking brand of football modeled on the sides of Alex Ferguson, who was his manager at United in that trophy-laden decade when Solskjaer won six league titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League. Naturally, Solskjaer spoke to Ferguson before accepting the job at Cardiff, which is increasingly perceived in Britain as a tough role because of Tans reported meddling in team affairs. "When theres a big decision to make, you rely on certain people you trust," Solskjaer said. "I trusted him with my football career, to manage my career, and I trust him now as well." Solskjaers career, which reached its peak when he diverted home Uniteds injury-time winner in a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in that most dramatic of Champions League finals, ended in 2007 after he failed to recover from a serious knee injury. He remained at United in a coaching and ambassadorial role, however, and went on to become the clubs reserve-team manager. He coached Molde -- his former club -- from 2011, winning back-to-back titles in his first two seasons and then the Norwegian Cup in his third. Solskjaer was always tipped to make a return to the Premier League sooner rather than later, and was linked with vacant roles at Aston Villa and Blackburn only to stay in Norway for family reasons. He was immediately installed as favourite to succeed Mackay after the Scot was fired on Friday and held talks with Tan and chairman Mehmet Dalman at Arsenals Emirates Stadium on Wednesday before the teams match against the Premier League leaders. Dalman said Solskjaers name was the "only one name in my head from the very beginning." "He is coming here to prove something to himself and to Cardiff," Dalman said. "I had no doubts from day one, so I do feel like the cat that got the cream." Working under Tan may prove to be challenging, with Mackay barely communicating with his owner by the end of his time in charge. Since buying Cardiff in 2010, Tan has alienated some supporters by changing the clubs colours from blue to red, adopting a new crest and then removing Mackay, who had guided the team to a League Cup final in 2012 and the Premier League a year later. "When I went to Manchester United, it was a new experience for me; when I went back to Molde with the English influence I had, that was a cultural difference for people back in Norway," Solskjaer said. "Now when I come here, I want to create a culture here too. The communication between me and Mehmet and me and the owner will be crucial. Communication and dialogue is the key in any organization." Solskjaers first game in charge is against Newcastle in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday. He will return to Old Trafford on Jan. 28 for a league match against United. Mackensie Alexander Jersey . Louis Cardinals. He was 48. The commissioners office said Bell died in his home state of Ohio. Bell had not been feeling well over the weekend and had been scheduled to see doctors later Monday at the Cleveland Clinic. David Morgan II Jersey . The 24-year-old right winger has one assist in nine games this season with the Sabres. In his career, he has three goals and six assists in 43 NHL games. We have a quarterback. Now we need to protect him. Last week the voters selected Ken Ploen as the quarterback of the Free Press/TSN 1290 All-Time Bombers Team. This week its your turn to select an offensive lineman for the team. Bud Grant and our panel have had their say. Now you get to weigh in. Were presenting a position each week over a nine-week perior with our panels choices of the top-five Winnipeg Blue Bombers to ever play for the club at that spot.  Cast your vote at http://alltimebombers.winnipegfreepress.com On Friday afternoons at 4 p.m., live on TSN 1290s Hustler and Lawless program, the Free Press and TSN 1290 websites, as well as the Saturday edition of the Winnipeg Free Press, well announce the winner and member of the All-Time Bombers Team. The Free Press print and digital editions as well as www.tsn1290.ca will run stories every Monday putting forth the position of the week and finalists selected by our panel. Voting will take place on both websites. Legendary Blue Bombers player and coach Bud Grant headlines our panel. Grant was joined by former Bombers player and GM Paul Robson, Canadian Football Hall of Fame inductee and Free Press sports reporter Ed Tait, Free Press columnist and TSN 1290 host Gary Lawless and TSN 1290s Andrew “Hustler” Paterson. Panelists were provided a statistical breakdown of the Bombers dating back to the 1950s as well as an anecdotal package of the early Bombers teams when statistics were not recorded. Each panelist brought a unique perspective and personal set of criteria. Grant joined the group via conference call from a cabin in the Wisconsin woods while the rest huddled around a boardroom table at the Free Press. From Grants gravelly voice emanating out of the telephone speaker, to Taits vivid recollections of games and players, to Robsons cold analysis of a players strengths and weaknesses, to Patersoons views from the upper decks of our stadiums, there were strong opinions all around. Trae Waynes Jersey. Some players were quickly selected. Others were hotly debated. Sometimes it came down to a clash of eras. Others made it on the merit of championship wins while those without rings on their fingers were often set aside. Vote a maximum of once per day and help choose the Blue Bombers player you consider the best at the following positions to be presented in this order: Quarterback, offensive lineman, linebacker, kicker, kick returner, running back, defensive lineman, defensive back and receiver. Weve done our part. The final decisions are up to you. So vote and vote often. Youre the GM of this team. Make your choices. CHRIS WALBY* 1981-96 A nine-time All-Canadian, Walby is arguably the greatest offensive lineman in CFL history. A hometown product, ‘Bluto brought a fiery intensity to the trenches and a levity to the locker room. Was twice named the leagues top O-lineman, in 1987 and 1993. BUDDY TINSLEY* 1950-60 Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, Tinsley came north in 1950 and served as a Bomber captain during their glory days. Was a CFL West All-Star seven times playing both sides of the ball. CORNEL PIPER ? 1957-67 A graduate of the Winnipeg Rods, Piper was recently endorsed by no less an authority than Bud Grant. Helped anchor the Bomber O-line for years, winning four championships. FRANK RIGNEY* 1958-67 A teammate of Ken Ploen at the University of Iowa, Rigney was a seven-time CFL West All-star, the leagues top lineman in 1961 and a four-time Grey Cup champion. JOHN BONK* 1973-85 Began his career as a linebacker before a switch to O-line. Dominant as a centre and long-snapper, Bonk was a CFL All-Star four times and was named the leagues top lineman in 1984. Played in 202 consecutive games before a neck injury. Jerseys NFL China Cheap Adidas NHL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale China Jerseys NFL Jerseys China Discount Soccer Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Cheap Nike Dolphins Jerseys Cheap Nike Patriots JerseysCheap Nike Jets Jerseys Cheap Nike Bengals Jerseys Cheap Nike Browns Jerseys Cheap Nike Steelers Jerseys Cheap Nike Texans Jerseys Cheap Nike Colts Jerseys Cheap Nike Jaguars Jerseys Cheap Nike Titans Jerseys Cheap Nike Broncos Jerseys ' ' '
