    • TORONTO – The absence of Jose Reyes from manager John Gibbons lineup is forcing the skipper to do some less than desirable juggling. Cheap Nike Air Max Tn Trainers . The star shortstops injury has been mitigated, somewhat, by the surprising offensive contribution of his replacement, Jonathan Diaz, but the bottom of the order remains subpar in an offence heavy division. Then theres the number two spot in the order, vacated by Melky Cabrera, whos moved into Reyes leadoff role. Colby Rasmus has occupied the bridge to Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion since Tuesday night in Tampa Bay. Hes off to a slow start this season with just two hits in 22 at-bats (.090), striking out at a 40 per cent clip (10 times in 25 plate appearances). The sample sizes are small and the Blue Jays believe Reyes will return on April 16, the day hes eligible to come off the disabled list, or soon after. Still, manager John Gibbons has considered something he did last year for part of the time Reyes was down, bumping up Bautista and Encarnacion in the lineup. "We thought about it," said Gibbons. "Right now we want to kind of split the lefties up as much as possible, as far apart as we can. Colbys had some success in that two-hole in the past. Right now, the way hes swinging its not ideal but, like I said, I think hes close." For his career, Rasmus has struck out in 24.2 per cent of his plate appearances. Thats not an ideal number for a top of the order guy and its why the Blue Jays, when healthy, dont use him there. "Hes going to strike out," said Gibbons. "Thats the kind of player he is. Hes going to have some strikeouts. But I think hes real close." "I dont ever like living with strikeouts," said hitting coach Kevin Seitzer, who says he speaks to Rasmus daily. "I think theres a way to patch things up, patch up holes and get yourself into a position with a mindset and an approach to where it gives you a better chance to barrel it up and not be vulnerable in certain counts, certain pitches, certain locations." It may surprise you to learn Rasmus has played more games batting second, 239 times in his career, than in any other spot in the order. It isnt close, either. Hes hit fifth 138 times, his second-most frequent spot in the order. Rasmus former manager, Tony La Russa, often hit him second. Those two are linked for their infamous falling out, although that wasnt related to Rasmus spot in the lineup. Seitzer is working with him on an adjustment related to where Rasmus hands start when the pitcher comes set. Previously, Rasmus had been starting his hands away from his body, effectively out and over the plate. He now starts with his hands closer to his body. "Hes not comfortable with it because its new," said Seitzer. "He hit all winter and all spring and I kind of had to let him go with his thing, getting to know him and getting used to him and then seeing what happens once the season starts. Were working on making adjustments. Hes just got to get himself in good position to give himself the best chance." The hitting coach wants the player to see the adjustment through. "I dont care where guys start their hands as long as they get to their launch position in time, on time, every time. Thats the only chance you have to hit big league pitching," said Seitzer. HAPPS REHAB START J.A. Happ was scheduled to make a rehab start for the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays on Saturday evening, weather permitting. Happ is on the disabled list, back dated to March 26 so hes eligible to return on April 10, with back inflammation thats plagued him since early in spring training. ROSTER MOVE The Blue Jays designated right-hander Jeremy Jeffress for assignment after Friday nights game. The intention was to recall Chad Jenkins from Triple-A Buffalo. In fact, the Bisons had issued a press release to that effect. Turns out Jenkins isnt eligible to join the Blue Jays until April 10 because, as a player optioned to the minor leagues, hes required to spend 10 regular season days in the minors. In Jenkins place is Marcus Walden, whose contract was purchased and the player added to the 40-man roster. Walden, a 25-year-old right-hander, was a ninth round selection of the Blue Jays in the 2007 draft. To be clear on the option rule: there is an exception to the 10-day window for players recalled due to injury. Erik Kratz is an example. He was recalled when J.A. Happ was placed on the disabled list. Cheap Air Max TN All Red . 1 Pete Sampras. Austin, selected 52nd overall by the Giants in the 2011 draft, was released by Miami on Oct. 15. He was signed by the Dolphins on Sept. 24 and only played in two games. • TORONTO -- Paul Ranger felt the pain in his neck immediately. Wholesale Air Max Australia . Down on the ice for several minutes, his mind raced and then found some peace. "Its scary," he said. "But I just remember feeling like, You know what, I am going to be OK. I dont know whats going on, but I can move my legs, I can feel my hands, I can feel my feet and Im going to be OK no matter what." The Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman was back with the team less than two days after suffering a neck injury when he was boarded by Tampa Bay Lightning forward Alex Killorn. Just being at the practice rink Friday for a team photo was another positive sign for Ranger, who was treated and released at a hospital Wednesday night. "Im thankful," Ranger said. "Im OK." Coach Randy Carlyle reported some good news as well: that the 29-year-old had a stiff neck but not a concussion as a result of his head slamming into the glass. "Thats not the world that (doctors) ever described to me," Carlyle said after practice. "They never said that. I know its a big word in todays sports, so I refrain from using it. Right now I was told there was no concussion issues." Ranger confirmed that it was a neck injury, not a head injury. He does not know when he might be able to return to game action, calling his situation a "day-to-day thing right now." When he went down late in the first period of the Leafs 5-3 loss to the Lightning, it looked like it could be much worse. After remaining on the ice for seven minutes, Ranger was taken off on a stretcher and then to the hospital. Ranger was anxious and in a bit of shock at first, but amid that doctors told him he was relaxed and co-operative. "I dont want to get into the details, I dont really want to re-live it," he said. "I know that my body and my mind just went into preservation mode. All I could think was just Dont move, stay straight and breathe, and I just kind of breathed three in, three out for the next three to four hours right from the get-go." Ranger praised Leafs doctor Noah Forman, athletic therapists Paul Ayotte and Marty Dudgeon and Lightning trainer Tom Mulligan for the care they administered. "They did a great job all-around," he said. "Even through that stressful time, I felt comforted and loved, really, and cared for." Ranger, who spent parts of five seasons with the Lightning, said Killorn reached out to him but declined to reveal the nature of that dialogue. He does not believe Killorn attempted to injure him. "From what I gather about him is that hes a good kid, and I knew that right from the start that it wasnt intentional," Ranger said. "My friends that I know close in Tampa say that he is a pretty good person, never really means to hurt anybody." Still, Ranger considered it a dangerous play. He avoided watching more than one replay because "that was enough," and didnt want to weigh in on any supplemental discipline for Killorn. "Its not up for me to decide if someone gets suspended or not," he said. "Thats not my call." But Ranger doesnt want to see similar situations happen moving forward. "I think it maybe needs some looking at," Ranger said. "I think theres some reviewing that should be done for the safety of myself and, to be honest, everyone else -- future players." Nike Air Max On Sale Australia .Shipulin pulled away from Martin Fourcade of France, Simon Eder of Austria and Fredrik Lindstrom of Sweden to finish in 35 minutes 16.8 seconds. BOSTON -- Carlton Fisk cleared the Green Monster to beat the Cincinnati Reds. All Grady Sizemore had to do was hit it. The Red Sox outfielder lined one off the bottom of Fenway Parks left-field Wall to drive in the winning run on Tuesday night and Boston beat Cincinnati 4-3 in 12 innings -- the longest game between the teams since Fisks historic homer in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. "It will never get old to walk off," said Sizemore, who had three hits in the game. "I was just glad I could come through." An All-Star with the Cleveland Indians, Sizemore missed all of the last two seasons while recovering from back surgery. The Red Sox brought him in as an extra outfielder, knowing the low risk would pay off big if he returned to the form that earned him MVP votes from 2005-08. "Ive got to believe that tonight gives him even further feeling like hes contributing here rather than being someone coming back from an injury," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "Nights like tonight go a long way and continue to rebuild Grady." Sizemore singled in a run in the third and had another base hit in the eighth, then came up with nobody out in the 12th after David Ortiz and Mike Napoli had already singled off Logan Ondrusek (0-2). He hit the first pitch to left-centre, and the outfielders didnt even bother picking it up as Ortiz scored easily. Craig Breslow (1-0) pitched one inning of scoreless relief for the victory. Boston beat Cincinnati for the sixth time in seven games since the Reds rebounded from the Fisk homer to win Game 7 of the 75 Series to take the title. The teams also met for interleague series in 2005 and 08. Dusstin Pedroia had three hits, including two doubles, as the Red Sox won for the third time in four games. Cheap Nike Air Max Australia. Napoli drove in a pair of runs as the Red Sox opened a 3-1 lead only to see Junichi Tazawa give it up in the eighth. "We finally got something going a little late," Reds outfielder Ryan Ludwick said. Red Sox starter Felix Doubront allowed one run on five hits, but he walked two batters in the sixth before leaving with one out and a 3-1 lead. Burke Badenhop threw one pitch to Skip Schumaker to get an inning-ending play. It was still 3-1 in the eighth when Joey Votto drew a one-out walk and Brandon Phillips doubled to put runners on second and third. Todd Frazier singled in one run, and Ryan Ludwick tied it 3-all with a sacrifice fly. • EDMONTON - The Florida Panthers dont seem to mind being on the road. Comprar Air Max Baratas .Tomas Kopecky scored the game winner and Jussi Jokinen recorded a pair of assists as the Panthers stretched their winning streak to three games with a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.Jimmy Hayes, Brian Campbell and Sean Bergenheim also scored for the Panthers (20-11-9), who are 4-1-0 through the first five games of a six-game road trip and 11-6-6 in road games overall this season.I dont think we were at our best tonight, but we found a way to get it done, Campbell said. Its a big game, getting towards the end of the trip, you have to keep the pedal down.Florida goalie Roberto Luongo said his teams key to winning is overall team play.Weve got four balanced lines, theyve been chipping in offensively which is nice and weve been finding ways to win hockey games, he said. We have one more big game left on this trip, so well enjoy tonight and refocus on the next one.Panthers head coach Gerard Gallant said Sundays win was a pretty good example of that team-first philosophy.Thats how youre going to win with our hockey team, he said. You look at our lineup, we dont have an 80, 90-point guy, so we have a bunch of guys chipping in, working hard.We play four lines all the D play and they all chipped in tonight.Jordan Eberle and Benoit Pouliot responded for the Oilers (10-24-9), who have only four wins to show from their past 28 games. We had some very costly errors at bad times, said Oilers assistant captain Taylor Hall. That was our downfall. I dont think we played bad, I just thought there were some really key moments in the game where we didnt do our jobs.Oilers forward Boyd Gordon said his team is one that cant afford to make too many mistakes. We were a little bit sloppy tonight, he said. We were hanging around, but we couldnt find a way to get on to the winning side. Our first period was a bit all over the place. We havent found a way to put a full 60 minutes together, and until we do that, we arent going to win too many games. The Panthers were first on the scoreboard four minutes into the first period as a defensive breakdown allowed Hayes to pick up a loose puck in front of the Edmonton net before spinning around and beating Oilers starter Ben Scrivens for his 13th goal of the season.Florida came close to adding to its lead with six minutes to play in the first when a Jonathan Huberdeau shot rang off the post behind Scrivens. The Panthers had 11 shots in the opening frame to Edmontons nine on Florida goalie Roberto Luongo. After Scrivens made a huge save on a two-on-one to start the second period, Edmonton tied the game 1-1 four minutes in as several Oilers had whacks at a loose puck during a scramble in front of the Panthers net before Eberle was able to flip in a backhand shot for his 11th goal of the year.Florida made it 2-1 seven minutes into the second as a Campbell wrist shot from the point deflected off of the stick of Oiler Matt Hendricks and completely fooled Scrivens, who didnt even wave at it.The two teams traded goals just 32 seconds apart, five minutes into the third period.Florida made it 3-1 as it won a race for a puck behind the Edmonton net before Derek MacKenzie fed it in front to set up a quick one-timer goal by Kopecky. The Oilers responded quickly with a delayed penalty coming their way as Pouliot scored his second goal in as many games during another scramble in front of the Florida net.The Panthers took a two-goal lead with four-and-a-half minutes to play as Nail Yakupov had his pocket picked and then the puck hopped over the stick of Andrew Ference, allowing Bergenheim to walk in and tuck the puck past Scrivens.I felt like we were going to come back in that game and then a couple of turnovers on one play and it ends up in the back of our net, Eberle said. Thats what happens when you do that in this league.Luongo made 31 saves in the victory. Both teams return to action on Tuesday as the Panthers will close out a six-game road trip in Winnipeg against the Jets. The Oilers will start a four-game road swing in St. Louis.Notes: It was the first of two games between the teams this year, the second coming in a week on Saturday, Jan. 17. Edmonton won both match-ups with the Panthers last year with Oilers centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins recording five assists in the two-game set. Florida came into the game without a win in Edmonton since December 11th, 2008… Scrivens was playing in his fourth career game against the Panthers, having recorded two shutouts in his previous three starts against Florida… Each team will have only one representative at the upcoming NHL All-Star Game. Selected for Florida was Luongo, while Nugent-Hopkins will suit up for Edmonton… Panthers centre Aleksander Barkov missed the game with a bout of the flu while Shawn Thornton remained out with a groin injury… The lone injury for Edmonton is forward Tyler Pitlick (lacerated spleen). Zapatillas Air Max Baratas . The Jets are headed to Kansas City on Sunday, where Reid has been busy preparing the Chiefs to slow down the veteran quarterback. If there is anybody who knows me its him, and there has been times that he has sat there and told me what he would do if he played me, Vick said. I played against Kansas City last year and it wasnt easy by any stretch. But like I said, thats part of the challenge.Vick was still with the Eagles a year ago, when Reid returned to Philadelphia in his first season with the Chiefs. He threw for 201 yards, but was picked off twice in a 26-16 defeat. The two have remained close, their relationship forged by years of turmoil in both of their lives. It was Reid who gave Vick a second chance when he was released from a federal prison near Kansas City after serving a sentence on dog-fighting charges. It was Vick who lent his shoulder to Reid two years ago, when his son Garrett died of a drug overdose. You guys know how proud I am of him for the man that he is and the things that hes done to change things around and kind of bounce back, Reid said. You never slight Michael Vick.Even at the age of 34, when most running quarterbacks have started to slow down.Hes going to be 50 years old and still be the fastest guy on the field, Reid added.Vick will certainly face a stiff challenge in the Chiefs (4-3), who have the NFLs third-ranked defence and the best against the pass.Kansas City is coming off a 34-7 rout of St. Louis, a game that was so lopsided that its backup defence played most of the fourth quarter. The Jets (1-7) counter with the leagues fourth-ranked rushing offence, which should be bolstered by Vicks mobility. But with a pass offence that is last in the NFL, Vicks ability too connect with wide receivers downfield — and back the Chiefs off the line of scrimmage — could be crucial. Air Max Outlet España. By the way, that defence is co-ordinated by Bob Sutton, who spent 13 seasons as an assistant with the Jets. In many ways, it mirrors what Rex Ryan does with his own defence. There are a lot of similarities on both sides of the ball, Ryan said. We probably know each other well, its just a matter of going out and seeing who can out-execute who.WHAT ABOUT GENO: Vick has only been appointed starter on a game-by-game basis, and Ryan hasnt ruled out going back to Geno Smith. Whenever I get a shot to play, obviously I have to do better than I have done previously, Smith said. Im going to take it with the same mindset that I have always had, be confident, go out there and play the game.SPEAKING OF QBS: Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith practiced all week after spraining his throwing shoulder before halftime last week against St. Louis. He still finished the game, going 24 of 28 for 226 yards. I was a little sore, Smith acknowledged, but I felt 100 per cent, and felt like I could do everything that I needed to do.SACK CITY: Both teams have 24 sacks, tied for fourth-most in the league. The Jets are led by Muhammad Wilkerson, Calvin Pace and Sheldon Richardson, who played college ball at Missouri. The Chiefs are led by Tamba Hali and Justin Houston, who had three sacks last week and has a league-leading 10 on the season. Houston is a great player, Ryan said. Theres no doubt.SPECIAL DELIVERY: Chiefs running back Knile Davis returned a kick 99 yards for a touchdown against the Rams last weekend. It was the second kickoff return of his career. Hes blessed with great speed along with that size, Reid said. Hes taking great pride in this.TURNOVER TROUBLE: The Jets have only forced three turnovers, putting them on pace to break the NFL record for fewest in a season of 12. Ive been a part of a lot of record-setting defences, but I never thought I would set one in futility, Ryan said. Thank goodness the year isnt over. I bet we wont be there. I bet we wont break that record.___Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

"I looked like Forrest Gump," he joked.MILWAUKEE -- When it comes to the "Biogenesis Bunch," theres Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun, and then everybody else. Fourteen players were suspended last summer by Major League Baseball as part of the Biogenesis drug scandal, ranging from All-Stars to also-rans. As a new season starts up, time to check on how theyre doing. Rodriguez is out for the year. So the A-Rod media circus will have to wait until 2015, assuming he returns. That leaves Braun as the next most notable name on the list. He said hes sorry for getting into the mess and eager to compile the kind of stats that made him the 2011 NL MVP. "I embrace the challenge that lies ahead," the Milwaukee slugger said upon reporting to spring training. "I know it wont be easy, but I intend to do everything in my power to continue to be the best person and player I can be." After apologizing several times in the off-season, Braun returned to a corner locker customary for a top player. He has the strong support of manager Ron Roenicke. Braun got off to a good start at the plate. He went into this week hitting .440 with two homers and five RBIs in 25 spring at-bats. Even had a homer in his first spring at-bat. "Not surprising. Hes one of those guys, just a special athlete," Roenicke said after the Feb. 27 shot. With Braun back to bolster a lineup that had Carlos Gomez, Jean Segura and Jonathan Lucroy emerge last season, the Brewers hope to contend again in the NL Central. St. Louis is the reigning division champ, and a 50-game suspension for shortstop Jhonny Peralta didnt prevent the team from signing him to a four-year, $53 million deal in the off-season. The discipline stemmed from an investigation into Biogenesis of America, a Florida anti-aging clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing substances. A couple big leaguers were miffed. "It pays to cheat... Thanks, owners, for encouraging PED use," Arizona pitcher Brad Ziegler tweeted after the deal was announced in November. Not a badd start in Cardinal red: Peralta was hitting over . Cheap Nike Air Max 95. .300 with three homers this spring as of the beginning of the week. "I know a lot of fans, they are going to talk," Peralta said when he reported to camp last month. "They are going to say a lot of things. Its baseball. You need to forget about it and try to play baseball." Nelson Cruzs potent bat was enticing enough for the Orioles to bring the outfielder in as a free agent after his suspension while with Texas last year. Cruz is destined for the middle of Baltimores lineup after hitting 26 homers last year. In San Diego, shortstop Everth Cabrera has said his apologies to teammates. He was leading the National League with 37 stolen bases when his suspension started last August. "He knew that he let his teammates down," Padres manager Bud Black said. "I cant speak for everybody, but from what Ive heard from some players, that was enough." Back at short and hitting .264 this spring with three steals as of Tuesday, Cabrera is set lead off again for Black. Reliever Antonio Bastardo (Phillies) and backup catcher Francisco Cervelli (Yankees) are also back with their former teams, each signing one-year deals in the off-season. Seattles Jesus Montero isnt as lucky. Once a top catching prospect, he was moved to first, then demoted to minor league camp. He hit .310 but had reported to spring training overweight. Among less notable players, outfield prospect Cesar Puello had also been optioned to minor league camp by the Mets and ex-Met Jordany Valdespin had signed a minor league deal in December with the Marlins. At last check, lefty reliever Jordan Norberto had signed a minor league deal with the Rays. Once-promising outfield prospect Fernando Martinez, who was traded from Houston to the Yankees last year, and relievers Fautino De Los Santos and Sergio Escalona are still waiting. • PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. Nike Air Max Norge . -- The PGA Tour rescinded the two-shot penalty given to Justin Rose before his final round Sunday in The Players Championship, changing its mind to say sophisticated TV technology was the only way to determine the violation. Rose was given a reprieve by an addition in January to the "Decisions on the Rules of Golf" that waives a penalty if the slightest movement of a golf ball can only be detected by enhanced technology. It was the first time Decision 18/4 was used. "I didnt know that this new recall was in place," Rose said after closing with a 3-under 69. Rose was penalized after the third round when he addressed a chip shot off the 18th green, and suddenly backed away. Rose said he didnt think the ball had moved from its original position, even after consulting with playing partner Sergio Garcia and seeing a replay on the video board. Only after his round, when he met with officials and watched a third television angle zoom in on the ball, was it clear that it moved ever so slightly. He was penalized under Rule 18-2b -- one shot for the ball moving at address, another for returning it to its original position. His 71 was changed to a 73, and he went left the course seven shots out of the lead. About an hour before he teed off Sunday, he was back to where he was. Because it was too late to adjust the tee times, Rose started his final round more than an hour before the other players on the same score of 7-under 209. Rose was within two shots of the leaders at the turn until three straight bogeys. Rose closed with back-to-back birdies and finished at 10-under 278. "We feel like we did the right thing here," said Mark Russell, vice-president of competition for the PGA Tour. The PGA Tour said in a statement the incident had been reviewed because Decision 18/4 had never been used. "The Rules Committee reopened the incident and focused on how much the use of sophisticated technology played a part in making the original ruling," the statement said. "After that review, it was determined that the only way to confirm whether and how much the ball in fact changed position was to utilize sophisticated technology." Russell said the tour consulted Grant Moir from the Royal & Ancient and Thomas Pagel of the USGA before deciding to apply the new decision. Decision 18/4 waives the penalty if a ball movement is not "reasonably discernible to the naked eye at the time" and required enhanced technology, such as HDTV. The example often cited by rules officials is when Peter Hanson had a double-hit that could not be detected except through HD in super slow-motion. One reason cited for penalizing him in the first place was the way Rose backed away from the shot, aware that there might have been movement. Rose maintained he did not think the ball moved until seeing the close-up view that he said was magnified so much "the golf ball looked like a Lego ball." "I was willing to accept the way things played out last night, and under 50 times magnification, you could argue that there was a tiny bit of a roll toward the toe (of the club)," Rose said. "Im talking a hair or a millimeter or a quarter dimple or whatever it might be." Russell did not made clear what triggered their decision to review a ruling that had already been made. He described sophisticated technology as "HD zoomed in." "It was such a slight move that it was not discernible by the naked eye," Russell said. "He didnt know. He knew something happened when he grounded his club and felt like he pressed the grass down. And it came right back. Everything went down and then the grass went down and the ball came back up. He knew something happened, he backed away from that, but it took something really zoomed in that was not seen on regular television to determine if the ball did indeed move. And it did." Rose said it was "interesting" that Decision 18/4 was not mentioned Saturday night as he met with officials. He said he only learned about it through comments he was getting on Twitter, and when he saw the decision, it sounded exactly like what had happened to him. "We have never had this tool before that we could apply," Russell said. "We asked for this and we feel like that this is the first time this has ever been used and we feel like this is exactly why this decision is in there. ... I think he deserved exactly what he received under the rules." Rose said he wasnt going to argue with the officials Saturday night that he would happily go along with whatever they decided. "Im certainly surprised its overturned," he said. "Very rarely is that ever the case. Never, ever the case. Im not sure." Nike Air Max Billig Online . • SANTA CLARA, Calif. Authentic Taj Gibson Jersey . -- Cordell Cato scored his first goal of the season and the San Jose Earthquakes survived a full half playing a man down to beat FC Dallas 2-1 Saturday night. San Jose (2-3-4) stretched its unbeaten streak at home to three matches despite losing winger Shea Salinas to a straight red card after a studs-up tackle on Dallas defender Zach Loyd just before halftime. FC Dallas (5-5-1) slid to its fourth straight loss despite a stinging 20-yard free-kick goal by Michel in the 76th minute. Cato burst in behind the Dallas defence to give San Jose a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute, set free by a long pass forward by goalkeeper Jon Busch and a redirecting header from centre back Clarence Goodson. It was the first career assist for Busch, a 14-year MLS veteran. San Jose doubled its lead off an own goal by Dallas substitute David Texeira in the 73rd minute, providing enough of a cushion to withstand Michels strike. The Earthquakes held on in the second half. Victor Ulloa banged a shot off the post in the 57th minute, and Busch scrambled across his goalmouth to deliver a body block on Blas Perezs rebound try. Matt Hedges, Fabian Castillo and rookie Tesho Akindele all missed wide for Dallas in the final 11 minutes of regulation. Stitched Timberwolves Jerseys Online . It was a remarkable moment for the rhythmic gymnast who has lived most of her life in Russia but was overjoyed to win gold for Canada on Friday. "Gosh, so proud of my country and for my coaches and my parents," she said with a shy smile. The 17-year-old captured her second gold medal of the Commonwealth Games, winning the individual all-around title a day after she led Canada to a victory in the team event. Later Friday, swimmer Katerine Savard made it a double-gold day for Canada by winning the womens 100-metre butterfly in a Commonwealth Games record time of 57.40 seconds. Canada is fifth in the overall medal standings after two days of competition with nine (four gold, one silver, four bronze). England and Australia have 32 medals apiece, followed by host Scotland (15) and India (10). More gold could be coming for Canada as Bezzoubenko is poised to climb the podium several more times when she competes in the four individual events -- hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon -- on Saturday. She could potentially win all four. "I will try," she said. Bezzoubenko scored 59.175 points to claim gold, while Francesca Jones of Wales was second with 57.350 and teammate Laura Halford won the bronze with 56.225. Maria Kitkarska of Montreal was eighth. Canada has four gold medals at the Games. Swimmer Ryan Cochrane won the mens 400-metre freestyle race on Thursday. Bezzoubenko was born in Vancouver but her parents returned with her to Moscow when she was just four. When Bezzoubenko was 13, Russias national team coach placed a call to Canadian coach Svetlana Joukova -- who is Russian-born -- suggesting she take a look at the young gymnast with dual citizenship. Now Bezzoubenko, who lists her hometown as Thornhill, Ont., trains with Russias top gymnasts in Moscow, a privilege that was facilitated by Joukova, and that costs her parents about $2,000 a month. The family lives in a tiny rented apartment there. Its a partnership thats paying off for the sport in Canada. "Yes, the Russians are the best in the world , so shes being exposed to the best in the world, you cant really ask for more than that," said Jean-Paul Caron, a consultant with Gymnastics Canada and its former president and CEO. "And she can come back and share that with the others." The gymnasts have been training together for the past three or so weeks, and Kitkarska said shes been watching Bezzoubenko train and perform with a keen eye. "Shes very young, but shes training very hard and she has goals and Im sure shell achieve them because shes an amazing gymnast and an amazing performer and I really love her routines. All of them," said the 18-year-old. "I love her." Bezzoubenkos programs come with much higher degrees of difficulty, so even if she drops an apparatus -- which she did with the hoop on Friday -- she still has the potential to win. "Shes taking risks," Caron said. "A lot more difficulty, a lot more movement of the apparatus, a lot more difficulty spinning with the apparatus in the air, also the flexibility that she obviously has." Glasgow represents Bezzoubenkos first major Games experience, so its a crucial stepping stone to the 2016 Rio Olympics. &qquot; This is very important, its like first step, she feels like its a mini Olympic Games," Joukova said. Cheap Nike Timberwolves Jerseys. "Shes really going to fight for Rio so for her this is amazing experience. Its very important for her to feel that everybody cares about her, everybody loves her, and everybody is behind her, to support her and give her more power. This will stay strong in her mind." Canada has had a long tradition of success in the sport at the Commonwealth Games, but theres been a gap since Alexandra Orlando swept all six gold medals eight years ago in Melbourne, Australia. Joukova, who also coached Orlando, said shed love to see Bezzoubenko repeat that sweep. Shell have to clean up her hoop routine however. Bezzoubenko, who won the Canadian junior title three times and the national senior title the past two years, was fifth after the hoop, but was first in the ball, clubs and ribbon to win the gold. "I didnt do good with the hoop. I think I just was not good concentration, but Ill try to make the other ones good," she said. Overall, it was a strong day for the young athlete coming on the heels of a late night after Thursdays gold in the team event. "Im very happy that Patricia did these results, shes been working very, very hard," Joukova said. "We finished very late (Thursday), arrived at the village around midnight, maybe not enough recovery. But she has to survive, she has to go, she has to feel the pressure and she has to fight. "Im very happy for her first Commonwealth Games." Kitkarska and Annabelle Kovacs of Vancouver were the other two members of the victorious team. Kitkarska was thrilled with the response from back home. "Social networks went crazy, Facebook and Instagram, people were so happy for us, everybody was just Im so proud of you guys. It was amazing support," she said. Her only minor disappointment was that few people were still awake Thursday night to welcome the gold medallists home to the village. "It was empty, but some people saw our medal, they were cheering for us," Kitkarska said. Savard, from Pont-Rouge, Que., added Canadas second gold in the pool when she outraced Englands Siobhan OConnor and Australias Emma McKeon. Elsewhere, Dorothy Ludwig of Langley,B.C, won bronze in the womens 10-metre air pistol event. Ludwig finished with a score of 177.2 points, behind Singapores Shun Xie Teo and Indias Malaika Goel. Alix Renaud-Roy of St-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Que., won a bronze medal in the womens 70-kilogram judo event. Renaud-Roy defeated Australias Catherine Arscott by ippon in her bronze-medal match. "Im happy. I didnt know what to expect," Renaud-Roy said. "I fought against some tough girls. This is the first time judo has been included in 12 years and I feel lucky to be a part of it." Englands Megan Fletcher, who beat Renaud-Roy in the quarter-finals, went on to win gold. Moira de Villiers of New Zealand won silver and Scotlands Sally Conway won the second bronze. Jonah Burt of Whitby, Ont., won bronze in the mens 81-kg judo event, beating Robert Nicola of Cyprus in his bronze-medal match. Englands Owen Livesey, who beat Burt in the semifinals, won gold. Tom Reed of England took silver and Boas Munyonga of Zambia claimed the other bronze. Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

    • LAKE FOREST, Ill. Wholesale Retro Jordans . -- The Chicago Bears agreed to a one-year contract with two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Tillman on Friday, retaining one of their cornerstone players as they try to revitalize a struggling defence. Tillmans status was one of the biggest questions hovering over the team this off-season after the Bears went 8-8 and missed the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years. But they answered that by announcing he will be back for a 12th season. The Bears have been overhauling a defence that struggled in a big way last season, releasing eight-time Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers. They decided to bring back Tillman even though he is 33 and coming off a season in which he was limited to eight games because of a torn right triceps. "Charles is one of the NFLs great players and a true leader on and off the field, and were happy he will be staying in Chicago," general manager Phil Emery said in a statement. "He remains the best in our game at forcing turnovers and always has brought a tough, physical presence to our secondary. Charles also has a special connection to the people and community across Chicago and were excited for that to continue." The Bears saw enough good things before he went down to re-sign Tillman. He had three interceptions, four pass breakups and three forced fumbles, but his injury in a loss to Detroit on Nov. 10 cut short what had been another solid season. The Bears had already lost defensive tackle Henry Melton (ACL tear) and linebacker D.J. Williams (torn pectoral muscle) to season-ending injuries. Star linebacker Lance Briggs (shoulder fracture) was also sidelined at the time. Quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a high left ankle sprain against the Lions and missed the next four games. Tillmans 42 forced fumbles are the second most in the league and most among cornerbacks since the Bears drafted him in the second round in 2003. He is also tied for fifth in interceptions, fifth in interception return yards and tied for second in interception return touchdowns during that span. Now, Tillman is returning to a defence that will have a different look up front, personnel-wise. The Bears have two new ends in Willie Young and Lamarr Houston, and theyve also added Ryan Mundy and M.D. Jennings to the mix at safety. Whether Melton, a free agent, will be back remains unclear. But the Bears appear to be set at cornerback for next season after retaining Tillman and giving Tim Jennings a four-year deal. Cheap Jordans For Sale . -- The Grand Rapids Griffins scored three goals in 33 seconds of the second period en route to defeating the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-1 in American Hockey League action on Friday. Wholesale Jordan Shoes From China . MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Karen Paolozzi became the second female player to make the cut in the PGA Professional National Championship, and University of Toledo coach Jamie Broce took the second-round lead in windy conditions Monday. Playing from tees in front of the men, Paolozzi followed her opening 75 at Grande Dunes with a 71 at The Dunes -- the site of the final two rounds -- to move into a tie for 31st at 2 over. Suzy Whaley was the first women to make the cut in 2005 at Kiawah Island. A former Indiana University player, the 31-year-old Paolozzi is a PGA assistant professional at Druid Hills in Atlanta. "This is exactly what my goal was," Paolozzi said. "I wanted to make the cut. I wanted to come here and play well. I was a little disappointed after yesterday, but I knew if I put in a solid round today, I had a chance." The 37-year-old Broce had an even-par 72 at Grande Dunes to take a one-stroke lead over Ryan Helminen. Broce had a 4-under 140 total. "Yestterday, the conditions were a little more benign, but today was a lot different. Buy Cheap Jordans Online Real. The wind kept you uneasy," Broce said. "I just got into a plan to hang in there and survive. I got away with a couple bad swings and was able to come back. I just plan to have fun and play golf the next two days and see what happens." Helminen, the PGA teaching professional at Ridgeway in Neenan, Wisconsin, overcame double bogeys on his fifth and sixth holes at Grande Dunes for a 73. "I got a lot out of that round," Helminen said. "When youre 5 over through six holes and going the wrong way and you make a birdie and some par-saving putts, it lifts your spirits." The top 20 Wednesday will get spots in the PGA Championship in August at Valhalla in Louisville, Kentucky. Paolozzi isnt eligible to earn a spot in the PGA Championship because she didnt play from the mens tees last fall when she qualified in the Northern Ohio PGA Section Championship. Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

    • Denver, CO - The Colorado Avalanche announced a pair of signings on Friday. Nike Air Max Skor Billigt . Forward John Mitchell was inked to a three-year contract extension and goaltender Reto Berra was kept in the fold with a three-year deal. Mitchell has registered seven goals and 23 points in 65 games this season for the Avalanche. The 29-year-old signed with Colorado in July of 2012 and tallied 10 goals and 20 points last season. "John is a proven NHL player who has been a very good addition to our team the past two seasons," said Avalanche executive vice president of hockey operations Joe Sakic. "He can play in different situations and we feel his presence and his versatility will continue to strongly benefit our team moving forward." A fifth-round draft pick of Toronto in 2003, Mitchell spent parts of three seasons with the Maple Leafs and one season with the Rangers before joining the Avalanche. Berra was acquired from Calgary on Mar. 5 in exchange for a second-round pick in this years draft. The Swiss native posted a 9-17-2 record in his first NHL season for the Flames. "As I mentioned when we acquired Reto, we strongly believe in his abilities," said Sakic. "He has size and skill and will help solidify our goaltending position for years to come." The 27-year-old was taken by St. Louis in the 2006 draft, but spent his entire professional career in Switzerland prior to this year. Berras contract likely means that current backup Jean-Sebastien Giguere will either retire or catch on with another club next season. Nike Air Max Billigt Sverige . Maryland made the move from the ACC over to the Big Ten this season and has certainly not struggled in its new surroundings, jumping out to a perfect 7-0 start thus far. Mark Turgeons Terrapins are in the midst of a six-game homestand, opening up with wins over Monmouth (61-56) and VMI (95-77) in the last five days. The defending ACC champion Cavaliers havent lost a beat, as Tony Bennetts team has also started the year with a flawless 7-0 mark. Fueled by stellar defensive play, six of Virginias seven wins thus far have come by double digits, including a 45-26 pasting of Rutgers to capture the Barclays Center Classic this past weekend. This marks the first non-conference meeting between these two teams since 1953. Maryland holds a 107-74 series advantage and won the last meeting, a 75-69 decision in College Park last March. The Cavaliers werent sharp offensively against Rutgers, but it didnt matter as their suffocating defensive play overwhelmed the Scarlet Knights, who managed a mere 26 total points, on just .250 shooting. Contesting just about every shot, Virginia held Rutgers to an ugly 0-of-13 from behind the arc and earned a 43-32 edge in rebounding in the game. Forward Anthony Gill and guard Justin Anderson led the way offensively with 13 points apiece for Virginia, which shot just .327 form the field and a poor 2-of-16 from 3-point range (.125). When a team plays the kind of defense that Virginia does, flashy offensiive numbers are irrelevant. Nike Air Max Sverige Online. The Cavaliers lead the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 43.6 ppg, as foes are shooting just .301 from the floor, including .271 from long range. In addition, Virginia boasts of a +14.9 rebounding margin. While the scoring totals arent large for the most part (66.9 ppg), both Anderson and Gill have been efficient, shooting .543 and .633 from the floor, respectively. Anderson has shot the lights out from 3-point range (16-of-27) and leads the team with 15.0 ppg. Gill ranks second on the team with 12.6 ppg. Guard Malcolm Brogdon adds 11.4 ppg to the cause. While Virginia put on a defensive clinic last time out, Maryland did the same at the offensive end of the floor, rolling up 95 points on VMI. The point total was the largest for Maryland since 2012 (100-68 win over UMES). Richaud Pack led the charge with 22 points in the victory over the Keydets. Jake Layman, Melo Trimble and Dion Wiley all poured in 19 points for Maryland, which shot .578 from the floor, including a scorching .679 in the second half. The Terrapins remain undefeated despite suffering some huge losses due to injury. Evan Smotrycz has only played in two games this season with an ankle injury. He came back against VMI but tweaked the ankle and is questionable for this contest. The news is much worse for star guard Dez Wells, who recently had wrist surgery and is out indefinitely. Wells 16.2 ppg wont be easy to make up when the Big Ten slate comes around, although the outburst from Pack (7.1 ppg) last time out was encouraging. For now, Trimble is the go-to-guy at the offensive end, netting 16.6 ppg. • KISSIMMEE, Fla. Authentic John Stockton Jersey . -- Braves pitcher Kris Medlen has injured a ligament in his right elbow for the second time in less than four years, and Atlanta says it is too early to determine the extent of the damage. Medlen had an MRI on Monday that revealed the injury, according to general manager Frank Wren. Wren said Tuesday the 28-year-old right-hander and the team will seek a second medical opinion. "I talked to him and he seems like hes in good spirits," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. Medlen felt the injury on Sunday while pitching against the New York Mets. He grabbed the elbow with two outs in the fourth inning and left with a trainer. Medlen tore his right ulnar collateral ligament while pitching against the Mets on Aug. 4, 2010, and was operated on by Dr. James Andrews that Aug. 18. Medlen didnt pitch for the Braves again until Sept. 25 the following year. He is expected to meet with Andrews this week. Brandon Beachy, another right-hander in Atlantas projected starting rotation, left a game Monday because of tightness around his pitching elbow. Beachy has been limited to a total of 18 starts over the past two seasons. Left-hander Mike Minor, who underwent urinary tract surgery on Dec. 31, is struggling with shoulder soreness. He hopes to pitch within the next week but could open the season on the disabled list. Atlanta could start the season without the trio, and Wren described the latest events as "worrisome." Julio Tehran hasnt allowed a run all spring training after pitching four shutout innings against Philadelphia on Tuesday and is likely to be joined in the starting rotation by Alex Wood, who pitches Wednesday against Washington in a split-squad game. Though they dropped their fourth consecutive game in the U.S. capital on Friday night – and 21st in 32 games since the start of November – the Maple Leafs finally played with the fight that had been mysteriously missing in recent days and, really, for the better part of a disappointing season. "Weve been begging, pleading, kicking, kissing, whatever we can do to try and find a way that we can play with some confidence," said Carlyle after a 3-2 loss to the Capitals. "This might be one of the better games weve played in a month. We showed desperation. We showed that we care [and] when we put our effort and our heart into it that there is more in that room than whats been displayed and thats whats been frustrating everybody – and theyre frustrated also." Still embarrassed from their second blowout loss in the past three games – a 6-1 pounding in Carolina just a night earlier – the Leafs at last competed with the necessary gumption and fire that was noticeably absent all week. Why it took so long to materialize and where it had been hiding was a "mind-boggling" and befuddling point for the Leafs head coach. His team was cleaner, crisper and a considerable contrast to the apparent mess that materialized against the Rangers and Hurricanes. A few mistakes and two unlucky bounces – both the Capitals game-tying and game-winning goals deflected off Toronto skates – ultimately saw a third period lead unravel, but there was, nonetheless, an air of cautious optimism afterward. "I think we played harder," said Dion Phaneuf, leading the team with 24 minutes. "No one likes to be embarrassed the way that we were." "We knew we needed it," David Clarkson added of the improved effort. "Weve got to find ways to compete like that every night. Compete. Compete. Win our battles and well be okay." It was the smallest of steps – they still lost for one thing – but a needed step no less for a team thats been light on optimism in the past two months. An unpredictable animal all year, what remains in question is how the Leafs respond when they host the Devils on Sunday night. Inconsistency has been the defining identity of the club so far. One good effort has only rarely translated into two. In fact, Toronto has won back-to-back games in regulation just once since the start of November. The reality of such a lengthy slide has seen them fall out of a playoff position for the first time all season in recent days, now 10th in the East with 47 points. "We need to start to churn some points for our hockey club to feel good about ourselves," said Carlyle, who felt his team was harder to play against, more physical and tighter defensively against the Capitals. "Theres not a lot of easy breathing taking place around our group right now. Thats the reality of it. But thats what happens when you dont have success." "Its not great when youre losing," Clarkson said. "But this is the part [of the season] that were going to have to rally together. Were going to have to find ways to get wins. I think if we play like we did tonight against every single team, I think well be fine." Five Points 1. Source of Trouble Carl Gunnarsson pointed to the Leafs inconsistency, night to night, period to period, shift to shift, as the source of a troubling first half. "Some nights the forecheck has been great and the day after, its been not as good," he said moments before Fridays game. "Its been just inconsistent all over. The only thing thats been good throughout the year, I think the goaltending has been great from both guys back there. They saved us in a bunch of games." Gunnarsson said the team could work well within its respective system, but failed to do so with any semblance of consistency. "When we do it well it works," he said. "So its just a matter of doing it every night, every shift, not only for every other night or 20, 40 minutes per game, its not enough. Its got to be every night and for 60 minutes." 2. The More Consistent Option in Goal Making his seventh start in the past eight games, Jonathan Bernier returned to the form that saw him gripping hoold of the crease before a pair of losses earlier this week. Authentic Pete Maravich Jersey. The 25-year-old stopped 32 of 35 shots in defeat. Though he and his counterpart, James Reimer, have been equals for the better part of the season, Bernier has certainly proven the more consistent of the two, though Reimer has been dealt his fair share of bad hands, including Thursdays lackluster effort in Carolina. As the table below indicates, Berniers performance has fluctuated only slightly all season. Goaltender Oct. Nov. Dec. Jan. Bernier .933 .923 .932 .896 Reimer .949 .916 .909 .852 3. Gardiner Sitting for just the second time all season on Thursday night, Jake Gardiner was back in the Toronto lineup against the Capitals, paired with 19-year-old Morgan Rielly for the third time this season. "I thought that was one of Jakes best performances," Carlyle said of Gardiner, who played just under 20 minutes. "He moved the puck, he skated, he didnt turn it over, he made a lot of good plays. Thats what were looking for from him every night." Carlyle hadnt been happy with the 23-year-olds performance against the Rangers and Islanders, pulling him from the lineup in Carolina. "Thats the trials and tribulations of a young player," Carlyle continued. "We know Jake Gardiner has NHL-quality skills, but we believe that theres something there that takes him out of that after four or five games. Whatever that is weve got to find a way to correct that." Of note, Carlyle had Gardiner on the third pairing alongside Rielly, rather than the second grouping with Cody Franson where hes played the better part of the season with inconsistent success. 4. Opting for Optimism Rather than inflame the misery of a perilous slide on Friday morning, Carlyle opted to point out the positives of losses to the Hurricanes and Islanders. "[We] tried to focus on some of the things that were doing well in [Thursday] nights game and some of the games [recently]," said Carlyle after Fridays game. 5. End of a Cold Spell? James van Riemsdyk had his first multi-point outing in more than a month on Friday. Scoring for just the third time in the past 16 games, his 16th this season, while adding a helper on Phil Kessels 21st goal of the season, van Riemsdyk had a pair of points in the same game for the first time since Dec. 7. He sits second on the team in scoring with 33 points in 44 games. "Theres always going to be challenges throughout the year," the 24-year-old said, speaking generally about the team. "Its about how you respond to that. Theres going to be no sulking done by us, throwing a pity party or feeling sorry for ourselves. We know what we need to do. I think the effort tonight was a good response with how we kind of laid an egg [Thursday] night." According to TSNs Farhan Lalji, Richardson is heading to Toronto for a physical and is expected to sign with the Argonauts.PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Penguins spot in the post-season is assured. The Phoenix Coyotes are living much more dangerously. For long stretches during Phoenixs 3-2 win on Tuesday night, it certainly looked like the other way around. Pouncing on a series of sloppy mistakes by the suddenly erratic Penguins, the Coyotes picked up two vital points in the chase for the eighth-seed in the Western Conference playoffs. Thomas Greiss stopped 23 shots -- including all 15 he faced over the final two periods -- and received plenty of help as Phoenix rebounded a night after losing starting goaltender Mike Smith indefinitely with a right leg injury in a loss to the New York Rangers on Monday. David Moss, Antoine Vermette and Mikkel Boedker scored for the Coyotes, who never trailed while dropping the Metropolitan Division-leading Penguins to just 6-6-2 since the Olympic break. "It gives confidence that if you can win in Pittsburgh you can win anywhere," Phoenix forward Shane Doan said. Jussi Jokinen and Taylor Pyatt scored for the Penguins. Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 saves, but the Penguins failed to clinch a playoff berth and looked lifeless at times without centre Evgeni Malkin, who is out 2-3 weeks after hurting his foot in a loss to St. Louis on Sunday. While hes expected by the end of the regular season, his absence is just the latest setback in a season in which Pittsburgh has lost over 400 man games due to injuries. It didnt seem to bother the Penguins as they built a seemingly insurmountable division lead. Coach Dan Bylsma isnt sure now is the time to start throwing around blame. "I dont think injuries had anything to do with today or what you saw on the ice," he said. More disconcerting for Pittsburgh is its lack of focus. The Penguins held a brief players only meeting after the game and cancelled a scheduled practice on Wednesday. "I dont think theres anyone feeling sorry for us, but that still doesnt allow us not to have the right type of effort and work ethic," centre Sidney Crosby said. Phoenixs play had a little bit to do with it. If the Coyotes were rattled by the loss of their franchise goaltender, it didnt exactly show. Greiss has been effective when sspelling Smith this season, though he wasnt sharp while allowing the Rangers to steal two points Monday by rallying for an overtime victory after he replaced Smith with 7:32 left in regulation and the Coyotes holding a one-goal lead. Cheap Nike Shoes Online. No matter. Despite a short turnaround in the midst of a three-game road trip that could shape the final weeks of the regular season, Greiss kept the Penguins in check. "I thought we did a good job of being close to one another," Moss said. "It seemed like if there was a breakdown, there was support. If they had a chance, (Greiss) made a huge save." Whenever Pittsburgh made a mistake deep in its own zone, the Coyotes were there to take advantage. Moss picked up his seventh goal of the year when great forechecking by Martin Hanzal and Brandon McMillan produced a turnover that ended with Moss all alone in front of the Penguins net. Jokinens 18th goal of the season tied it 11:51 into the period, kind of. His wrist shot caromed out of the back of the net so quickly the goal light never came on. Play continued for nearly 3 minutes before a stoppage in play provided time for the goal to be awarded on replay. Vermette put Phoenix back in front with a power-play goal, poking a rebound between Fleurys legs. Pyatt knotted it at 2 with just 4 seconds left in the first by deflecting in Rob Scuderis shot from the point. The back-and-forth play, however, stopped over the final 40 minutes as the Coyotes choked off the Penguins while continuing to effectively counterpunch. Boedker put Phoenix in front to stay 13:18 into the second period by grabbing a rebound in front of the Pittsburgh net and roofing it over Fleurys glove as a penalty to Jokinen expired. • After two exhibition games in which the Winnipeg Goldeyes struggled to cash in base runners, Winnipegs bats had no issues harvesting runs Saturday afternoon in Nebraska. Air Jordans Authentic Wholesale . Led by home runs from Jake Blackwood and Ray Sadler, the Goldeyes defeated the Lincoln Saltdogs 7-6 Saturday at Haymarket Park. The win moves Winnipegs exhibition record to 3-1 after losing to Lincoln Friday night. The second batter of the game, Blackwood cracked a solo home run to left field to give Winnipeg their first lead of the two-game weekend series at 1-0. After Lincoln fought back with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, the Goldeyes retook the lead in the top of the second inning. With two out, Ryan Pineda and Luis Alen singled. Designated hitter Amos Ramon doubled to score Pineda and Webb followed with a double of his own to plate Alen and Ramon, giving the Goldeyes a 4-2 lead. "They didnt give up on the inning," Goldeyes pitching coach Jamie Vermilyea said on the Jewel 101 post-game show. "A two-out rally hurts the other team, too. You get two quick outs, but youre able to still put three runs on the board. Thats good to see out of your hitters." Winnipeg extended the lead in the top of the fifth inning when Ray Sadler hit a two-out, two-run home run, putting the Goldeyes up 6-2. Lincoln replied with a run in the fourth inning off Winnipeg starting pitcher Chris Salamida and then tied game 6-6 when they victimized Kyle Anderson for three runs with two out in the sixth inning. The Goldeyes scratched around the game-winning run an inning later when Alen led off the seventh inning with a single and eventually scored on a Blackwood sac fly. After Anderson, Brendan Lafferty, Chris Kissock and Kyle Bellamy allowed a combined two hits in the last three innings. "Thats exactly what we are looking for out of them," Vermilyea said. "If we get our starters to go six or seven innings, we have the guys in the back end of the bullpen that can shut the door." Anderson earned the win for Winnipeg to improve to 1-0 in exhibition play, while Bellamy earned his first save. The five pitchers took the ball for Winnipeg in the game combined for 10 strikeouts. Ramon led Winnipeg with a three-for-four afternoon at the plate. He also scored two runs and drove in a run. Blackwood, Sadler and Webb all had two RBI. It worked for Miguel Gonzalez, just like it did for Bud Norris. Gonzalez took a two-hit shutout into the eighth inning, Jonathan Schoop homered and J.J. Hardy hit two RBI doubles to lead the Orioles to a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. Gonzalez (5-5) was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk, where he was optioned on July 11 so that he wouldnt get stale after consecutive eight-inning no-decisions. Norris, who was optioned to Double-A Bowie on July 10, beat the Angels 4-2 Monday night in his return to the rotation. Were fortunate they both had (minor league) options," manager Buck Showalter said. "I think Bud was a day away from not being able to get optioned because of his service time, so it was a good catch by our front office. "It worked out well for both of them because they also got to spend some time in their hometowns out here. You just dont want to see guys lie around too long during the break and be inactive, but we have a lot of starters with options. So thats why we were able to do it." Gonzalez (5-5) allowed two runs and three hits in 7 2-3 innings, including a two-run homer in the eighth by All-Star game MVP Mike Trout after a walk to No. 9 hitter Hank Conger. The Angels other hits against Gonzalez were singles by Efren Navarro in the third and fifth innings. "I think it was beneficial for me, to go down there and keep doing what I was doing, and not getting that extra rest — especially after the last two outings I had," Gonzalez said. "Im pretty happy about everything in general tonight. I gave us a chance to win a ballgame." Showalter added: "Thats as good as you can see a guy pitch, especially in a hostile environment against a really good team. Thats about as sharp as Ive seen Miggy in a while. He had everything working and everything at his disposal, and he had command of it." Tommy Hunter, making his 200th career appearance, retired Albert Pujols on a grounder for the final out of the eighth and Zach Britton pitched a perfect ninth for his 18th save in 21 chances. Hunter, who was converted into a full-time reliever by the Orioles last season, lost his closer role to Britton in mid-May after consecutive blown saves. Since then, Hunter has yielded three runs and struck out 11 in 18 1-3 spanning 17 appearances — and has not allowed an earned run in a career-best 12 straight outings. Cheap Authentic Jordans. Britton has allowed eight runs and fanned 27 in 29 1-3 innings over 29 appearances since taking over as closer. "So far, Zachs done a good job," Showalter said. "But who knows? We might need Tommy to go back there again. I dont know if anybodys smart enough to know exactly how things are going to turn out. But so far, so good." Angels left-hander Hector Santiago matched zeroes with Gonzalez through five innings, allowing just two hits before rookie Mike Morin took over in the sixth. "Early on I was just trying to battle a little fatigue," Santiago said. "I was kind of under the weather the last couple of days. I definitely felt the fatigue kind of like building up right there in that first two innings. Then I just had a high pitch count, so I had to maintain myself and control it." Morin (2-3) threw his second pitch into the dirt and to the backstop as his left knee appeared to buckle. Manager Mike Sciocsia went out with a trainer to check on him, and the right-hander made three warmup tosses before striking out Adam Jones and Nelson Cruz. But Chris Davis reached on an infield hit and came all the way around on Hardys double to right-centre. Schoop homered to left-centre two pitches later for his eighth homer — all on the road. Schoop was originally in the No. 9 spot in the order, but got bumped up to seventh after third baseman Manny Machado was scratched just before game time because of tightness in his lower back. "Ive never had something like this before. It just spazzed up on me," Machado said. "The trainers worked on it a little bit and I went back out there before the game, but it kept locking up on me. So I thought it was just better to sit it out and let someone else take my place and help the team win. Its still a little tight, but I got a shot and well see where we are tomorrow." • Canadas Mark Arendz battled through brutal race conditions to win the bronze medal in the mens 12. Authentic James Harden Jersey .5-kilometre standing category at the Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia on Tuesday. With rain pelting down and dense fog socked into the Laura Nordic Stadium, the 24-year-old took advantage of the weather he grew up with in Hartsville, Prince Edward Island to grab his second medal of the week. Arendz clocked a time of 30:31.0. "To get a medal is awesome and that was the goal," said Arendz. "There were mistakes out there both in shooting and on the course so it was not a perfect race, but anytime you are on the podium I have to be happy because this is strong field." In a race that puts a premium on shooting, the soft-spoken Canuck rattled off 19 of 20 shots in his four rounds on the range. The miss in this third bout of shooting sent Arendz to do one150-metre penalty loop. "The warm up was tough today, and it was hard to see the targets early (because of the fog)," said Arendz. "It was the same conditions for everyone. I wasnt perfect in shooting so I know there are still mistakes that need to be cleaned up." Arendz was in a dogfight for the gold with two of his closest rivals, Russias Azat Karachurin and Norways Nils-Erik Ulset. Karachurin also missed just one target en route to winning the gold medal with a time of 29:30.0 (0+0+0+1). Missing two shots in his final stop at the range, Ulset hamered his way around the course on the skinny skis to edge Arendz for the silver medal with a time of 30:24.6. "I felt a little tired today, and I just didnt have quite the snap that I had on the first day," added Arendz, who had a lightening quick final lap. "The conditions stayed hard so I was able to put down the power I had. Everything is there. I just need to put it all together. Earlier this week, Arendz became the first Canadian ever to win a silver medal in biathlon at the Paralympic Winter Games. Brian McKeever, guided by his brother, Arendzs coach Robin, were the only other Canadians to win a para-biathlon medal when they captured the bronze in 2006.  The two-medal week now makes Arendz the most successful Canadian biathlete at the Paralympics. Recognizing the bright future ahead of him, four years ago the wide-eyed Canadian walked into his first Paralympic Stadium in 2010. His goal was take in the Paralympic experience. This time around things are different. "This time it is strictly business," said Arendz. "I have had four years of experience and feel that I am strong in all race distances. I want to be on the podium every time. It was not a perfect race today. I still havent been perfect shooting, and I dont want to leave Sochi until I do that." Earlier in the day, Ottawas Caroline Bisson suited up in the womens 10-kilometre standing race. Bisson finished in 11th spot with a time of 39:53.9 (2+0+1+0). Russias Alena Kaufman missed just one shot while posting the golden time at 29:57.1 (1+0+0+0). Authentic Clint Capela Jersey .  "For the past several weeks, Logan has been dealing and playing with an upper body injury," said general manager Doug Wilson in a statement. Road games against the Pittsburgh Penguins, one of NHLs top teams in the league, have also proven difficult. That wasnt the case on Friday night.Nathan Gerbes power-play goal broke a third-period tie, helping the Hurricanes to a rare road win, 4-2 over the Penguins. Were striving to get some wins here, Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward said. To be able to beat the Penguins in their own building is a huge confidence builder.Gerbe scored his third goal of the season at 3:10, and Jiri Tlusty pushed the lead to two in the closing seconds with a power-play tally into an empty net for his 10th goal.Tlusty also scored in the first period and added an assist on Patrick Dwyers second of the season in the second for a three-point game. The Hurricanes had lost six of seven. Its always exciting to play against a high-skilled team like (the Penguins), Tlusty said. Were just trying to build our game, and I think we all bought in.Everyone was working hard and not giving them many chances or much space. The Hurricanes, who own the NHLs worst road record (3-9-2), finished their five-game trip with their second win of it. They had lost five of the previous six and eight of 10 against Pittsburgh.Ward, in his fifth straight start, made 20 saves.Winning is fun, Ward said. Unfortunately, we havent been winning too many hockey games, but to walk away with a win is huge.Patric Hornqvist scored his 11th, and Kris Letang had his fourth for the Penguins, who fell short of tying a team record for wins in November.Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby had two assists, extending his point streak against Carolina to 12, but took a goalie interference penalty that led to the winning goal. They just outworked us, Crosby said. Its not fun saying that after a game. Thats something that cant happen. We have to make sure we work harder.Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves on his 30th birthday, but took the loss.Carolina took a 3-2 lead when Gerbe received a cross-ice pass from Elias Lindholm and beat a standing Fleury with an under-the-crossbar wrist shot.Pittsburgh pushed for the tie with Crosby and Evgeni Malkin on the same line, but was forced to kill two penalties in the final five minutes.I thouught Carolina had more energy than us, for sure, Penguins coach Mike Johnston said. Cheap Rockets Jerseys. I give them credit for how they played with their speed and their quickness. We certainly werent on our game. The teams began a home-and-home set that will conclude on Saturday when Carolina returns home.We know theyre probably going to be much better, Ward said. We have to be ready for it.Ward was ready early, making a highlight-reel save to help the Hurricanes build momentum. Ward was beaten to the backhand, but recovered to make a diving desperation stick stop on Blake Comeau, who had a hat trick against Toronto on Wednesday.I didnt quite realize he was by himself, Ward said. He showed some good patience and had me sliding. Its just one of those things where you work your hand-eye co-ordination and throw the paddle up. I was fortunate to get a little lucky. The Hurricanes, who rank near the bottom of the NHL in first-period goal differential, built off the early momentum, outshooting Pittsburgh 17-9 in the frame and scoring the opening goal.Tlusty netted his first of the night at 15:47, throwing a shot from the left-wing boards that hit the skate of defenceman Olli Maatta and deflected over Fleurys shoulder.Letang tied it 43 seconds later when he pinched from the left point to tap the rebound of Nick Spalings shot into a partially empty net.Dwyer got it back at 2:54 of the second period when he unleashed a wrist shot over Fleurys shoulder.Hornqvist pulled the Penguins even at 2 at 15:52, taking a drop pass from Crosby and firing a wrist shot over Wards shoulder. But that was all Pittsburgh could manage as Carolina scored the final two goals in the third. The Penguins are an offensive team, but we were able to control our gaps and prevent them from getting some speed in the neutral zone, Ward said. It seemed to frustrate them a little bit.NOTES: Penguins C Marcel Goc (right leg) left in the first period after blocking a shot. ... The Stars opened the game with Brett Ritchie skating alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, but the blender got put to use in the second half of the game, as Seguin moved to a line with Jason Spezza and Erik Cole, while Cody Eakin moved up to play the middle with Benn and Ritchie. • MIAMI -- For LeBron James, the mask was distinctive. Air Max Scontate Online . His effort, that was basically the same as usual. So, too, was the outcome for the New York Knicks. Playing with a dark carbon-fiber mask to protect his broken nose -- a "menacing" look is how Heat coach Erik Spoelstra described it -- James scored 31 points to help Miami beat the reeling Knicks 108-82 on Thursday night. "I tried to put pressure on the defence, tried to make plays and I was happy to be back on the floor," said James, who missed one game because of the nose, which got broken on Feb. 20 at Oklahoma City. James made 13 of 19 shots and topped 30 points for his fifth consecutive outing. He said he plans to play with a mask for the next couple weeks, at least. "As much as I dont like it, I have to figure out how to make it work," James said. Dwyane Wade added 23 points, shooting 10 for 13 from the field. The Heat outscored New York 23-3 over the final 7:02 of the third and won their sixth straight. The Heat shot 61 per cent, while the Knicks shot 37 per cent. No team shot better than 49 per cent against Miami in 10 games during February, and none of the last four Heat opponents have shot better than 40 per cent. "Where we need it to be," Wade said. "Thats how we win games." Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points for New York, but none in the final 21:38. Tyson Chandler had 19 points and 16 rebounds, and J.R. Smith added 11 points for the Knicks, who fell to 2-10 in February. "I dont know if we got defused or what," Anthony said. We didnt bounce back." Raymond Felton, in his first game since being arrested on gun charges, missed six of seven shots and scored only two points for the Knicks. "No excuses," Felton said. Norris Cole, Mario Chalmers and Ray Allen each scored 11 points for the Heat, who are 41-7 in February games over the last four seasons. James got the buzz for this one going just before tip-off, strapping the mask over the top half of his face, the deviation from the usual clear-plastic look enough to send Twitter users into some sort of commenting overdrive. "He played like Batman," Heat forward Chris Bosh said. More importantly to the Heat, the mask didnt seem to impair James vision much. James had 11 in the opening quarter, the Heat finished the period with a six-point lead and soon stretched the margin to 16 in the second quarter. A hook shot from Wade in the lane was his seventh straight make, giving Miami a 43-27 lead and indicating things would be a runaway. Eventually, they indeed would. But New York made it interesting for a bit. Anthony had a brilliant flurry, scoring all 16 of his second-quarter points in the final 5:52 of the period as New York erased just about every bit of that big Miami lead. Then with 8:36 left in the third, Anthony set up Smith for a jumper that got New York to 64-61. And from there, it was all Miami. Thats when the huge run to end the third got started. The Knicks missed 12 of their final 13 shots to end the third -- their only field goal in the final 8 1/2 minutes was a layup by Tim Hardaway Jr. -- and the Heat just got rolling. For some perspective, James had 12 points in the quarter while the Knicks, total, had 14. "We crumbled," Anthony said. "It got out of hand." Shane Battier set up James for a down-the-lane dunk that got Miamis lead back to double digits at 72-61 and the snowball just kept growing. A 10-0 run in the final 2:21 of the quarter turned it into a runaway; James got fouled by Anthony and turned it into a three-point play with 1:58 left, then beat Anthony on a cut and accepted a pass from Cole for an easy layup on the next possession. One trip later, Allen hit a 3-pointer, and just like that, Miamis lead was 23, the outcome quickly becoming academic. NOTES: It was the first time in Miami as an opponent for Hardaway, with the Knicks bench at the end of the court where Tim Hardaway Sr.s retired jersey number hangs from the rafters. ... Wade missed about three minutes in the first quarter to get an ankle re-taped. ... Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was among the stars in attendance. ... The Heat didnt get a single offensive rebound until the fourth quarter.Air Max Outlet Italia . Wawrinka, who is seeded fourth, is in the top half of the draw with Serbian Novak Djokovic. Rod Thorn, president of basketball operations, announced the fine Friday. Randolph was unhappy Thursday night that James Harden, who was 2 for 9 from the floor, went to the free throw line 25 times. Harden was 9 oof 11 at the line in the fourth quarter and became the first player in NBA history to register 27 points on two or fewer field goals. Air Max Saldi Italia. • CHARLOTTE, N. Authentic Matt Hendricks Jersey .C. -- LeBron James called comments on an audio recording of a man identified as Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling "appalling" and said hes not sure if he would suit up for the remainder of the NBA playoffs if he played for the Clippers. "Theres no room for Donald Sterling in the NBA -- there is no room for him," the Heat forward said Saturday night before a playoff game against the Charlotte Bobcats. The league said Saturday it was investigating the recording posted on TMZs website, calling the comments "disturbing and offensive." James said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver should take swift action if the comments are found to be made by Sterling. "Obviously, if the reports are true its unacceptable in our league," James said. "It doesnt matter, white, black or Hispanic -- all across the races its unacceptable. As the commissioner of our league they have to make a stand. They have to be very aggressive with it. I dont know what it will be, but we cant have that in our league. "Were the model citizen of all sports around the world because we are the most recognizable figures. ... Its very disrespectful and its appalling." One of James best friends, Chris Paul, plays for the Clippers. James said he hasnt spoken with Paul, but "I can only imagine what is going through his head." "I have kind of wavered back and forth if I would actually sit out," James said. "If our owner would come out and say the things he said I would have to sit down with my teammates and talk to my family because at the end of the day, our family and teammates are way more important than that,. Basketball is huge and the playoffs have been unbelievable so far and I hate that something has to come out." In the recording, the man on the recorder questions his girlfriends association with minorities. James said hes not angry about the comments, just disappointed. "I can only imagine if a player came out and said something of that stature what would happen to us as players," James said. "I believe in Adam (Silver) and I believe in the NBA and they have to do something very fast before this really gets out of hand. But like I said there is no room for Donald Sterling in our league." Authentic Nino Niederreiter Jersey . The Swiss won on the fastest run-time tiebreaker after the four-racer teams tied 2-2. The 23-year-old Poland international is back as first choice at Arsenal after losing his regular spot in the team on occasions over the last three seasons.Brad Richards looked to be on his way out of New York in 2013, when former Rangers coach John Tortorella not only demoted the veteran centre but scratched him in the playoffs. A year later, coach Alain Vigneault started down the same path by putting the 34-year-old on left wing of the Rangers fourth line in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final. Richards played just nine minutes 22 seconds at even strength and a total of 13:20 including power-play time. Vigneault said he met with his lines individually, including Richards, Brian Boyle and Derek Dorsett. He wanted to spell out his reasoning and assignments. "I talked to Brads line. I talked to Brad about the decision I made," Vigneault said Wednesday night after the Rangers 2-1 victory that staved off elimination. "I mean, at this time of the year its only about one thing: Its about the team. You guys know how Richards has been this year, the ultimate pro. Hes fine with whatever I do." Richards, a strong candidate to be bought out of the final six years and US$27 million left on his contract, has no points in the Cup final annd just four goals and four assists in 23 games since a strong opener against the Philadelphia Flyers. Authentic Eric Fehr Jersey. Vigneault said his line shuffling had to do with giving forward Dominic Moore a bigger role. As a result, though, he put Richards in a tough spot to be effective on a checking fourth line. Richards skated just 13 shifts. The 34-year-old managed a couple of quality scoring chances on the power play and was on the ice for a strong five-on-five shift that ended with a Kings penalty. Still, though, longtime friend Martin St. Louis knows what a demotion can mean to any star players ego. Richards was once a Canadian Olympian and 90-point scorer in the NHL. "Richies a pro and a tremendous leader," St. Louis said. "Im sure its tough for him. Hes a pro and a great teammate." Richards isnt expected to be a teammate of St. Louis for much longer. The Rangers have one more compliance buyout to use and just one more off-season window in which to use it, and these playoffs have done little to dispel the notion that hell be playing elsewhere next season. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • SAO PAULO - The latest stadium inaugurated for the World Cup in Brazil held its first two matches without major glitches on Sunday, a day after demonstrators across Brazil protested against the tournament. Authentic Bill Ranford Jersey . The Arena das Dunas in the northeastern city of Natal sustained minor damage during the protests, but demonstrators stayed away on Sunday and officials said the stadium passed its first test, with only minor adjustments needed going forward. Work was being done until the final moments before the inaugural match, but the doubleheader between local clubs in front of tens of thousands of fans was not affected. Before the matches, local media reported that police arrested two men accused of firing shots at a group of rival fans a few kilometres from the stadium. No one was injured. Demonstrators complaining about the costs of the World Cup destroyed some protective fencing and set fire to temporary tents outside the Arena das Dunas late Saturday. Local media reported security guards fired shots into the air to disperse the crowd. The Tribuna do Norte newspaper said 19 people were detained. The protest was part of a nationwide movement by those opposed the level of spending on the World Cup. About 1,000 people protested in Sao Paulo and smaller demonstrations took place in several other cities. Demonstrators attacked an empty police vehicle, torched a small car and smashed the windows of banks in Sao Paulo. Authorities responded with tear gas and rubber bullets and detained more than 100 people in South Americas biggest city. On its Facebook page, the Anonymous Rio protest group billed "Operation Stop the World Cup" as this years first act against the football tournament. The Confederations Cup was marked by violent protests last year and more are expected during the World Cup. The Arena das Dunas was the seventh World Cup stadium to be completed, with five still being worked on less than five months before the opening game on June 12. Those stadiums are mostly expected to be ready in time, but there is doubt about whether Curitiba will remain a host city as the stadium there is running well behind schedule. Brazil had promised to hand over all 12 World Cup stadiums by the end of 2013. Cory Schneider – The Devils goaltender was yanked after allowing four goals on 24 Red Wings shots Friday. It was the second straight start that he was pulled. LINEUP NEED TO KNOW Johnny Boychuk – The Islanders’ surprising blueline star suffered a suspected knee injury Friday night against Los Angeles. Brian Strait was inserted into the Isles’ lineup Saturday at Arizona. Zach Parise – Has been out of the Wild lineup, with a concussion, so Thomas Vanek joined Mikael Granlund and Jason Pominville on the top line. Parise has returned to practice with the Wild, while Jason Zucker, Mikko Koivu and Charlie Coyle were on the second line. Derek Stepan – The Rangers centre returned to the lineup Saturday against Toronto and has taken a spot in the middle with LW Chris Kreider and RW Mats Zuccarello. Braydon Coburn – Returned to the Flyers lineup Saturday against Colorado, though the Flyers defence didn’t have long to revel in improved health, as Luke Schenn suffered an upper-body injury against the Avalanche and is expected to miss a couple weeks. Evgeny Kuznetsov – The Capitals scratched their skilled rookie Friday against Chicago, but he returned to the lineup with strong possession numbers (12 shot attempts for, 4 against, 75.0%) against Carolina Saturday. Dmitri Kulikov – Left Saturday’s game against Calgary with a knee injury. Colby Robak would figure to get into the lineup with Kulikov out, but Erik Gudbranson is likely to get the boost into Kulikov’s top-four role. James Wisniewski – Returned to the Blue Jackets lineup Friday after missing more than a week with a broken finger and picked up three assists in Saturday’s 7-4 loss to Tampa Bay. Bryan Allen – Played his first couple games for the Ducks, returning from a lower-body injury. With Cam Fowler and Francois Beauchemin missing, Allen averaged more than 20 minutes per game and delivered strong possession stats (46 shot attempts for, 24 against, 65.7%). Valeri Nichushkin – Dallas’ second-year winger is out of the lineup, again, with a groin injury. He missed three weeks, returned for two games and has returned to the IR. Dallas has inserted Patrick Eaves into the right wing spot with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin on the Stars’ top line. Jiri Sekac – Has returned to the Canadiens’ lineup, while Montreal has made Rene Bourque a healthy scratch. Bourque has also been put on waivers, so it will take some change of fortune for Bourque to find his way back into the lineup. Peter Regin – Called up from the AHL, he had a stellar possession game (13 shot attempts for, 2 against, 86.7%) for Chicago against Washington Friday. Markus Granlund – The Flames rookie played 20:33 against Florida, second among Flames forwards behind Monahan (20:34), though Granlund won just 10% (2 wins, 18 losses) of his faceoffs. Tomas Fleischmann – The veteran Panthers winger was a healthy scratch against Calgary Saturday. Fleischmann hasn’t scored a goal and has one assist, with 49.1% possession, in 11 ggames this season. Authentic Mike Vernon Jersey. Shorthanded Kings – Drew Doughty played 29:46 against Vancouver, while the Kings dressed five defencemen, unable to bring up someone from the AHL to replace injured D Robyn Regehr. Trevor Smith – Picked up an assist in his season debut for the Maple Leafs at Ottawa Sunday, playing with rookies Sam Carrick and Josh Leivo. David Rundblad – A 24-year-old who has played 63 NHL games since the start of the 2011-2012 season, Rundblad has replaced Michal Rozsival in Blackhawks’ lineup. He’s played a sheltered third-pair role, but has 61.5% of the even-strength shot attempts when he’s been in the lineup. Keith Aulie – The towering blueliner has been called up and put into the Oilers’ lineup, while Martin Marincin and Oskar Klefbom have been scratched, and Aulie has put up solid possession (61.8% Corsi) in three games. SHORT SHIFTS Penguins D Kris Letang had two goals and two assists, and RW Patric Hornqvist had two goals and an assist in a 6-1 win at Buffalo Saturday… Blue Jackets LW Scott Hartnell scored a pair of goals, both assisted by C Boone Jenner, in Friday’s 3-2 overtime loss to…Hurricanes C Victor Rask had a goal and an assist in Friday’s 3-2 overtime win vs. Columbus. Zuccarello also had a game-high 10 shot attempts (7 SOG). C Tyler Johnson notched a pair of goals in Saturday’s 7-4 win at Columbus then added another in Sunday’s win at Detroit. Forsberg leads all rookies with 15 points in 14 games. Ducks RW Jakob Silfverberg had a dominant possession game (31 shot attempts for, 6 against, 83.8%) Friday against Arizona, with most of his damage coming against the Coyotes’ line of LW Tobias Rieder, C Antoine Vermette and RW Shane Doan…That Coyotes line had a rough go Saturday against the Islanders too, lingering around 33% possession and Vermette failed to register a shot attempt in 18:34 against the Islanders. Sabres G Michael Neuvirth stopped 49 of 52 Oilers shots in a 3-2 loss Friday…Capitals G Braden Holtby had 38 saves on 40 shots to beat Chicago 3-2 Friday…Predators G Pekka Rinne stopped 28 of 29 shots at St. Louis Saturday…Ducks G Frederik Andersen stopped 34 of 35 shots and Canucks G Eddie Lack turned aside 28 of 29 shots in a 2-1 shootout win for the Canucks in Anaheim Sunday…Jets G Ondrej Pavelec stopped 37 of 38 shots and Senators G Craig Anderson turned aside 36 of 37 shots in Saturday’s 2-1 shootout win for Winnipeg. FIRSTS Iiro Pakarinen – The Oilers right winger scored his first NHL goal Friday at Buffalo. Trevor van Riemsdyk – Chicago’s rookie blueliner scored his first NHL goal in Sunday’s 5-2 win over San Jose. Mat Clark – Played his first games for the Ducks since April 3, 2012. Francois Beauchemin was out with the flu and Cam Fowler had a lower-body injury, opening up room for Clark. Brandon DeFazio – A 26-year-old undrafted free agents out of Clarkson, DeFazio has played 219 games in the AHL, putting up 81 points and 363 penalty minutes. He had an uneventful 6:04 of ice time in his debut, skating with Bo Horvat on the Canucks’ fourth line. FANTASY FOCUS Only two games on the Monday night schedule, but here are a couple of players to keep tabs on: Justin Faulk – The Carolina defenceman has five points (1 G, 4 A) in the past five games as the Hurricanes have started to turn the corner after a rough start to the season. Carl Soderberg – With David Krejci continuing to battle injuries, there are prime opportunities available for the second-year Bruins centre, and Soderberg leads the team with 12 points in 15 games and has formed an effective line lately with LW Matt Fraser and RW Loui Eriksson. • SAO PAULO, Brazil -- A smaller-than-capacity crowd and a few setbacks marked the final test event at the unfinished stadium set to host the World Cup opener in less than two weeks. Udonis Haslem Jersey . Only 37,000 people attended Sundays Brazilian league match at the Itaquerao in Sao Paulo, which wont hold a full crowd until the opening game between Brazil and Croatia on June 12. There were no major problems inside or outside the stadium, but some fans still complained of difficulties accessing the venue because of heavy traffic and lack of adequate instructions by local authorities. The match also had to be briefly interrupted after balloons released by fans made it onto the field, and the announcement of a substitution on the stadiums big screen upset one of the coaches because he had not yet authorized the change. Kelly Olynyk Jersey . Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres came to an agreement on a big trade that may only offer incremental improvement to the Blues in their quest for a Stanley Cup. James Johnson Jersey . -- Hal Steinbrenner says Alex Rodriguez is "a great player" and "obviously an asset," but the New York Yankees managing general partner wouldnt discuss the third basemans possible return to the team following a season-long suspension.TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger have the latest on the possible movement involving the Canucks Ryan Kesler, the Rangers Ryan Callahan, and the Maple Leafs Dave Bolland. Not long ago Bob, you mentioned that the Vancouver Canucks are willing to deal anybody but the Sedin twins. Whats the latest on that front? Bob McKenzie: The team that Im most interested to see what, if anything, they do is the Vancouver Canucks. Now I can tell you this, there are multiple teams in the National Hockey League that are looking at veteran defenceman Alex Edler and veteran forward Ryan Kesler and are trying to find out if the Canucks are possibly serious about moving these guys and if so, what the price is going to be. Now keep in mind a couple of things - nobody in Vancouver leaves if they dont want to leave as there are lots of no-move, no-trade clauses, and we also want to see what happens with Kesler with the MRI coming back on the finger from the shot that he blocked at the Olympics. In New York talks have clearly broken down between Ryan Callahan and the Rangers with Callahan set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Is it now a foregone conclusion that hes going to move? Darren Dreger: Im told that its 99 per cent guaranteed that Ryan Callahan will get traded by the New York Rangers. There are many teams involved in this process. We know that the St. Louis Blues have been the most consistent in showing interest, and theres some connection with the Tampa Bay Lightning and other teams as well. But theres an ongoing back-and-forth with defenceman Dan Girardi as well. Many predicted that this deal would be done by now to keep Girardi with the Rangers. If hes not signed by March 5, the trade deadline, theres also a 99 per cent chance that he gets traded. McKenzie: And youre right Darren, there have been no talks over the Olympic break between Callahan and the Rangers. There has been ongoing dialogue with Girardi - there seems to be a little bit of a difference in term, maybe a little less than $500,000 a year difference in money, but theyre working and trying to get that done. In Toronto, Dave Bolland is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. How are negotiations going there, and what are the chances hes still a Maple Leaf on March 6? Dreger: Well this is going to be a real difficult negotiation for the Toronto Maple Leafs, very similar to the one they had with Tyler Bozak creeping up to the trade deadliine last year. Dwyane Wade Jersey. Of course trading Bolland is an option, its believed he wants as much as $5 million, maybe better than $5 million per year to stay with the Leafs to avoid unrestricted free agency. So the Leafs have a tough decision to make, since they would rather pay him in the $4 million range than the $5 million range. So do they hold him, and use him as their own rental and take their chances on trying to sign him? They need to make a hockey deal and not a trade that would include draft picks coming back the other way. Then what do the Leafs need? Dreger: The Leafs need a top-four defenceman and theyre also in the market for a top-nine forward. Again, Dave Nonis is less interested in a rental player and more interested in adding pieces that are going to help this team in the playoffs. Whats the latest on Ryan Millers status with the Buffalo Sabres? McKenzie: There have been reports out there that the Sabres are trying to sign Miller. My clear understanding is that the priority and the preference is still to try and get a trade for netminder Ryan Miller and virtually any other player on the roster. General manager Tim Murray is open for business, and there isnt a single untouchable on this team, maybe with the exception of Zemgus Girgensons. The New York Islanders are also conducting an auction for forward Thomas Vanek and defenceman Andrew MacDonald. As many as six teams have enquired on Vanek, and there was at least one serious offer that was rejected by the Islanders. At least seven teams have enquired on McDonald but there have been no firm offers at this point. Dreger: Some are suggesting that maybe there is a three-way deal involving the St. Louis Blues and perhaps the Minnesota Wild where Jaroslav Halak might be included. Maybe Jake Allen, I know the Buffalo Sabres would want to get him as part of a package. Again, thats the time of year it is and thats the type of rumour mongering that goes on creeping up to the deadline. Were hearing that Mike Cammalleri has been offered a deal by the Calgary Flames. What are the chances that he remains a Flame after the deadline? McKenzie: I think its much more likely that he gets traded than remains a Flame, but there is a remote possibility that Cammalleri could get a deal done with the Flames. But at this point the smart money suggests that he would be - along with those guys like Matt Moulson, Thomas Vanek and others - as a goal-scoring winger who could be had as a rental. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins JerseysLions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • Pep Guardiola thinks Yaya Toure can be like a new player for Manchester City after his double helped them to a 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace. Marlins Tyler Cloyd Jersey . Toures only previous first-team appearance for City under Guardiola came in their 1-0 Champions League defeat of Steaua Bucharest on August 24.The Ivory Coast international found himself on the sidelines after his agent Dimitri Seluk had been vocal in his criticism of Guardiola, who he said had humiliated Toure by omitting him from their Champions League squad. But the 33-year-old apologised for misunderstandings of the past and Guardiola handed him an unexpected start at Selhurst Park. And the Spaniard was rewarded as Toures goals inspired City to all three points. Yaya Toure (R) put on an impressive display at Selhurst Park When asked about Toures performance, Guardiola told Sky Sports: Of course for the two goals [he was good] but it [Toures performance] was more than that.Nobody has doubts about his quality. The last month and a half hes trained and his physical condition has improved. His weight is now perfect. When he arrived he was not like this but now hes like a young guy. Of course we have a new player now to help us achieve our targets. Im so happy for him and for his family. Toure gave Man City the lead in the first half Toure opened the scoring in the 39th minute before Connor Wickham equalised for the hosts in the second-half.With the game heading towards a draw, Toure, who was described as a gift by Guardiola, popped up in the 83rd minute to tap home from close range to secure victory and move City level on points with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.Yaya is an important part of this club, Guardiola said. He is so so important. In the years the club won the Premier League he was a huge personality and his team-mates appreciate him a lot.For me its a gift because we have another player to compete in the squad. Toure celebrates scoring his sides winner When we have games every three games you need to rotate the team. In this league it is intense because every team fights and fights and fights. We need all the players and Yaya is one of them.Captain Vincent Kompany also returned to Citys starting line-up but the defender only last 38 minutes after colliding with his own goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. Vincent Kompany was taken off injured in the first half The Belgium international suffered a nasty looking blow to the head and was replaced by Pablo Zabaleta, but Guardiola is hopeful the injury is not too bad.Hopefully it wont be dangerous, he said. He received a kick in his head so we have to be careful. Hes going for observation now so hopefully it wont be too bad. Kaepernick plans to repeat his calls as many times as necessary in the huddle during the NFC championship game Sunday to make sure his teammates hear him. Top-seeded Djokovic, who is making only his second appearance this year after reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over 54th-ranked Istomin of Uzbekistan. "It wasnt as easy as the scoreline indicates," said Djokovic, who has won in Dubai on four occasions. "I needed to work for my games. "Having not played for more than four, five weeks, an official match, obviously it takes its toll on the court." Djokovic saved all four break points he faced on serve and broke Istomin three times -- in the third and ninth games of the first set and in the second game of the second set. Del Potro was not so fortunate, being forced to retire against Somdev Devvarman of India after losing the first-set tiebreaker 7-6 (3). Since winning the Sydney title last month, Del Potro has been struggling with a left wrist injury that has conjured up memories of similar pain he experienced in his right wrist four years ago. In 2010, the year after he won the U.S. Open, he played only three tournaments before and after surgery on his right wrist. Del Potro was fighting back tears in Dubai when he came to talk to the media after his retirement. &"I dont feel really well," he said. Authentic Ron Greschner Jersey. . "My wrist is hurting a lot and everybody knows what happened to me four years ago with my other wrist. "It was really tough to play today. I tried everything. I cannot be the player I would like to be." Having felt the pain in his left wrist during the Australian Open, Del Potro went at the end of January to consult with Dr. Richard Berger, who performed his right wrist surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. The doctor recommended a course of physical therapy. Asked if he would have kept playing if he won the first set, Del Potro said: "I dont think so, no. It was hurting too much." Devvarman, a wild card who won a challenger in New Delhi last week, hit a service winner on his third set point in the tiebreaker. That proved to be the final point of the match. "Its unfortunate, especially for a guy like him," Devvarman said. "I realized he wasnt comfortable hitting backhands and I tried to make him hit as many as I could, and he wasnt really hitting over it so I knew he wasnt happy." Third-seeded Tomas Berdych extended his winning streak to eight matches with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Romanian qualifier Marius Copil. Berdych, who reached the final in Dubai last year, won the Rotterdam title two weeks ago. Fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France secured a 6-2, 6-4 win over Victor Hanescu of Romania.Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • MILAN - Juventus celebrated its third straight Serie A title with a 3-0 home victory over Cagliari on Sunday to reach 102 points for the season, a record in the major European leagues. Boston Red Sox Jerseys Cheap . Antonio Contes side had already broken the Serie A points record but ensured it moved into triple figures by also becoming the first Italian side to win all its home games. "It is an incredible and historic feat, which we have achieved all together," Conte said. "What the players, staff and club have done is something incredible. They have been extraordinarily special and I will never stop thanking them. "Sometimes you forget that victory is an exception, not normality. These lads have achieved something unique together: it will be difficult to repeat the 102 points. All future comparisons will be made with this squad." Andrea Pirlo, Fernando Llorente and Claudio Marchisio scored in a party atmosphere at Juventus Stadium. Juventus players posed for a team photo with their children before kickoff while the trophy presentation and an open-top bus parade took place after the match. Juventus clinched the title two weeks ago. Later, Parma beat Livorno 2-0 to take the final Europa League qualifying spot after Torino missed a stoppage-time penalty and drew 2-2 at Fiorentina. Substitute Amauri headed both goals in for Parma. "I have no words," an emotional Amauri said. "During the week I was hoping to get this goal and I managed to do it, Im happy for my family and for the fans. ... These are the rewards after putting in the hard work, now I want to play in the Europa League." AC Milan won 2-1 at home to Sassuolo — in a match which saw three red cards — but finished a point behind Parma. Hellas Verona also had faint hopes of reaching Europe but lost 5-1 at Napoli. In other games, it was: Genoa 1, Roma 0; Catania 2, Atalanta 1; Lazio 1, Bologna 0; and Chievo Verona 2, Inter Milan 1. Pirlo fired Juventus into the lead in the ninth minute with one of his trademark free kicks, although it was awarded as an own goal by Marco Silvestri as it hit the crossbar before going in off the goalkeepers back. Juventus doubled its lead six minutes later when the defence failed to clear after Leonardo Bonucci flicked on Pirlos corner and Llorente tapped in for his 18th goal of the season. Marchisio scored a spectacular third, controlling the ball with his back to goal before flicking it up and firing it home with a swiveling volley. At the start of the second half a huge banner was unveiled bearing Contes face and the words "Without you we wont go far ... because you are the best and have Juve in your heart." Conte, who has yet to commit his future to the club, was given a standing ovation when he emerged for the trophy presentation, moving his wife to tears. Juventus was unable to parade the trophy around the pitch. As soon as the trophy was lifted, fans invaded the pitch — prompting players, their families and coaching staff to run to the dressing room. It appeared as if Parmas European hopes were about to be dashed when Torino was awarded a last-gasp penalty after Facundo Roncaglia fouled Barreto. However, Antonio Rosati saved Alessio Cercis spot kick to set off celebrations among the Parma players and fans and leave the Italy forward in tears. "I think suffering is part of Torino fans DNA," Torino coach Giampiero Ventura said. "I think it was an important year and we missed the chance to go to Europe with the draw last week and missing a penalty tonight. "Ive seen (Roberto) Baggio and (Franco) Baresi crying, its part of football to see players crying on the pitch, now Cerci is crying too. But only those who dont dare, who dont do, dont make mistakes. Cerci should be more than proud of having done an extraordinary match." Fiorentina and Inter were already assured of Europa League spots, while Juventus, Roma and Napoli go into the Champions League. Red Sox Marco Hernandez Jersey .
