Johan Franzen had two goals and two assists, Gustav Nyquist a goal and three assists and David Legwand a goal and two assists in the Red Wings 7-4 win over the New Jersey Devils. Dele Alli England Jersey . -- Cordell Cato scored his first goal of the season and the San Jose Earthquakes survived a full half playing a man down to beat FC Dallas 2-1 Saturday night.TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays want to finish their final series of the year on a strong note as they look ahead to the 2014 season. Eric Dier England Jersey . It could spell trouble for the Tampa Bay Rays as they make their push for the post-season. Jose Reyes scored twice and R.A. Dickey was effective over 7 1/3 innings as the Blue Jays defeated Tampa Bay 6-3 on Friday night at Rogers Centre. The loss ended Tampa Bays seven-game winning streak and prevented the Rays from moving closer to locking up a playoff spot. Tampa Bay (90-70) entered play one game up on Cleveland and two games up on Texas in the American League wild-card race. The Blue Jays (73-87), meanwhile, are last in the A.L. East and have been out of playoff contention for weeks. "Were playing hard, were not going to give games away right now," said Toronto second baseman Ryan Goins. "We have a nice chance to play spoiler here at the end so its going to be fun." Tampa Bay can still host the wild-card game by beating Toronto in both games on the weekend. Dickey settled down after giving up early solo homers to Ben Zobrist and Delmon Young. The Blue Jays put up four runs in the fourth and added a pair in the fifth as they improved to 39-40 at Rogers Centre this season. "Its one of those games," said Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon. "Weve been on a pretty good run. (Well) go get a good nights sleep and come back tomorrow." Dickey, who won the National League Cy Young Award last season with the New York Mets, started slowly this year but bounced back in the second half. Toronto manager John Gibbons said Dickey deserves credit for his 14-13 record. "For a team thats below .500, hell take that," he said. "He finished strong, he made all his starts. Good job." The veteran knuckleballer felt that the Blue Jays have a lot of positives going for them heading into next year. Dickey, one of several big-name additions in the off-season, feels that having a full season together as a team is important going forward. "Now we know what to expect out of each other, we know how to challenge each other, we know a little bit more about how to hold each other accountable," he told reporters. "All those things are very important on a team, as you well know. "Thats what they have across the street there (in the Rays room) and thats what you want, thats what you hope for." Tampa Bay turned in a rare sloppy defensive effort with three errors on the night. Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson was perfect his first time through the Toronto order but the Blue Jays got the bats going in the fourth inning while taking advantage of some miscues. Reyes singled to get things started and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Munenori Kawasaki. Brett Lawrie of Langley, B.C., reached on an error and Moises Sierra drove in Reyes with a single to right field. With ruunners on the corners, Anthony Gose hit a blooper to shallow centre field that dropped in for a hit. Phil Jones England Jersey. Outfielder Sam Fulds throw to the plate was not in time to catch Lawrie. Goins followed with a base hit to centre that Fuld misplayed for an error. The ball rolled all the way to the wall, allowing Sierra and Gose to score easily. "You cant really imagine a worse scenario as an outfielder," Fuld said. Goins tried to score but was thrown out at the plate for the final out. Hellickson issued a pair of two-out walks in the fifth inning and both runners came around to score. Lawrie singled home Reyes and Kawasaki came across when Sierra reached on an infield single. Wesley Wright relieved Hellickson and struck out Gose with runners on the corners. Hellickson (12-10) allowed six runs -- three of them earned -- along with six hits and two walks. He had five strikeouts. "The guys have been picking me up all year, offensively and defensively," Hellickson said. "It would have been nice to pick them up for once." Tampa Bay loaded the bases in the eighth after two Toronto errors and a walk to Zobrist. Sergio Santos relieved Dickey and needed just one pitch to get James Loney to ground into a double play. Santos gave up a run in the ninth before striking out pinch-hitter Luke Scott. It was his first save of the season. Dickeys knuckleball was floating nicely and he mixed up his speeds to keep the Tampa hitters guessing. He allowed two earned runs, five hits and a walk over 7 1/3 innings while striking out three. Zobrist opened the scoring in the first inning by taking a 3-0 pitch over the right-field wall for his 12th home run of the season. Young followed an inning later with his third homer of the year and 100th of his career. Toronto left-fielder Kevin Pillar helped keep it a one-run inning with a great diving catch on a shallow flare off the bat of former Blue Jay Kelly Johnson. Notes: Dickey leads the Blue Jays with 19 quality starts on the season. ... Lawrie was hit in the mouth by a pitch from Roberto Hernandez in the seventh inning. His lip was cut but he stayed in the game and stole second base two pitches later. Lawrie later came out of the game as a precaution. "Hes a tough dude, you know," Gibbons said. "Hes Canadian. Does that surprise you that he stayed in the game, for a while anyway?" ... Blue Jays first baseman Adam Lind sat out with a sore back. He hopes to return Saturday. ... The Rogers Centre roof was closed. Announced attendance was 27,288 and the game took two hours 42 minutes to play. ... Toronto left-hander J.A. Happ (4-7) is scheduled to start Saturday afternoon. The Rays will counter with right-hander Chris Archer (9-7). ... The Blue Jays dropped two of three in Baltimore earlier in the week to finish with a 34-47 road record on the season. Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys NFL Jerseys From China Cheap Nike Basketball Jerseys Wholesale Hockey Jerseys China Nike Baseball Jerseys Cheap College Jerseys China Cheap Football Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Canada Wholesale NHL Jerseys Canada Wholesale Nike MLB Jerseys Canada Cheap NBA Jerseys Authentic Canada Stitched Soccer Jerseys Canada Cheap Jerseys Canada NFL ' ' '

    • PHILADELPHIA - The family of the late NFL star Junior Seau plans to object to the proposed US$765 million settlement of player concussion claims because the fund would not pay wrongful death claims to survivors. Danielle Hunter Jersey . Although the players lawsuits accused the NFL of concealing known concussion risks, there would be no blame assessed as part of the settlement, and no punitive damages for pain and suffering. "Mr. Seaus children have their own claims for the wrong the NFL did to them. His children are not suing for their fathers pain and suffering, they are suing for their own," lawyer Steven M. Strauss wrote in a court filing Friday that signalled the familys intent to pursue an individual lawsuit. Other potential critics to the settlement reached by players lawyers and the league are also starting to emerge — and the judge overseeing the case has herself expressed doubts the sum is big enough. About 50 plaintiffs lawyers met in New York last week to learn more about the settlement from the lead lawyers, but some left dissatisfied. "This could be a great settlement, this could be a terrible settlement, but I dont know," said Chicago lawyer Thomas A. Demetrio, who represents 10 players, including the family of the late Dave Duerson, a four-time Pro Bowler who mostly played with the Chicago Bears. Duerson fatally shot himself in the chest, leaving his brain intact for autopsy. Like Seau, he was diagnosed with CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy. An honours graduate and trustee of the University of Notre Dame, he was 50 when he died, which would factor into his familys payout. "His estate will receive $2.2 million. Thats not adequate," Demetrio said. U.S. District Judge Anita Brody, who must weigh the deal, also wants more actuarial details than filed with the settlement papers. She preliminarily rejected the plan last month, questioning whether $765 million will be enough to fund about 20,000 claims involved for 65 years, as promised. The architects of the plan argue that the players could end up with nothing if the lawsuits are thrown out of court. The NFL had argued that the claims belonged in arbitration. The retirees would also have to prove their injuries came from NFL concussions, and not those suffered earlier. "The retired player community has provided overwhelming support for this agreement, and we look forward to finalizing it soon so they can begin taking advantage of its benefits," lead lawyers Christopher Seeger and Sol Weiss said in a statement Monday that recognized the work of other lawyers on the case. The NFL settlement, if approved in court, would be capped at $4 million on behalf of players diagnosed after their deaths with traumatic brain injury. The payments could go as high as $5 million for younger men with Alzheimers disease, but many more plaintiffs with mild dementia would get $25,000 or less under the deal. Demetrio wants to know how much of the NFLs payment will come from insurance, and why the lawyers would split another $112 million, when the case did not reach discovery or trial. The NFLs annual revenues top $9 billion. "Its very, very unusual ... for all the plaintiffs to not know whats going on," Demetrio said. "Theyre acting like the Lone Ranger." The Seau Family, meanwhile, is also concerned that the deal calls for a stay on individual suits until all appeals are finalized with the settlement. "Junior Seaus children could be forced to wait years for justice, while the NFL continues to make billions of dollars and the memories of witnesses grow ever more distant," the filing said. The NFL, which on Monday joined two U.S. lawmakers in pushing for legislation to help protect student athletes from concussions, declined comment Monday on the Seau familys objections. Laquon Treadwell Jersey . The San Antonio Spurs handled the conditions, and the team, and it sure helped when a suffering LeBron James couldnt make it to the finish. Everson Griffen Jersey .Dawson also birdied two of the last four holes to reach 12-under 132 on TPC San Antonios AT&T Canyons Course. He won his only title in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event in 2002 in the Web.com Tours LaSalle Bank Open.Im not going to lose any sleep, believe me, Dawson said. I used to be a perfectionist, but my attitude now is to play like Im in the pro-am.Were less than six weeks from the Mar. 2 trade deadline, which means all the basic chatter and tire kicking will take on a more serious tone as early as next week. Theres no promise that deals will be made immediately following the All-Star break, but a number of team executives do sense that the urgency to make a move is starting to grow. On Thursday nights Tim Hortons Thats Hockey, we addressed the wants and needs of the seven Canadian NHL teams. Granted, every team is looking for upgrades and Im certain many NHL general managers take some pleasure in playing the media game by declaring a wish list that often includes a top six forward or a top four defenceman. And its hard to imagine any of the 30 teams arent in the market for that. With that in mind, lets first take a look at the list we unveiled in Tuesdays edition of Insider Trading disclosing the initial list of players considered as trade bait with the deadline looming: Trade Bait Player NHL Team Position Antoine Vermette Arizona Coyotes Centre Tyler Myers Buffalo Sabres Defence Joffrey Lupul Toronto Maple Leafs Left Wing Jake Gardiner Toronto Maple Leafs Defence Keith Yandle Arizona Coyotes Defence Ryan OReilly Colorado Avalanche Centre Jaromir Jagr New Jersey Devils Right Wing Curtis Glencross Calgary Flames Left Wing Zbynek Michalek Arizona Coyotes Defence Erik Cole Dallas Stars Left Wing Chris Neil Ottawa Senators Right Wing Cody Franson Toronto Maple Leafs Defence Marc Methot Ottawa Senators Defence Jiri Tlusty Carolina Hurricanes Left Wing Jeff Petry Edmonton Oilers Defence Tyler Kennedy San Jose Sharks Right Wing Zack Kassian Vancouver Canucks Right Wing Matt Hendricks Edmonton Oilers Left Wing Drew Stafford Buffalo Sabres Right Wing Brad Boyes Florida Panthers Right Wing Matt Irwin San Jose Sharks Defence Michael Ryder New Jersey Devils Right Wing Kyle Brodziak Minnesota Wild Centre Ryan Carter Minnesota Wild Centre Chris Phillips Ottawa Senators Defence Paul Martin Pittsburgh Penguins Defence Tomas Fleischmann Florida Panthers Left Wing Canadian NHL Team Game Plans Toronto Maple Leafs Veteran defenceman Cody Franson is a late addition to the Trade Bait list in the likelihood he embraces unrestricted free agency. The Leafs arent willing to pay him what he will lure on the open market and based on the demand for blueliners with a right-handed shot, Franson will fetch a decent trade return once its been determined he intends to walk. And that decision should be soon. Forwards Daniel Winnik and Mike Santorelli (also pending UFAs) are drawing interest from trade circles as well and given Torontos play of late, the list of available Leaf players is starting to grow. While never impossible, any trade involving a key player is unlikely until the off-season, when other cap teams have more flexibility to take on bigger contracts. Again - anything is possible. However, Torontos expected return seems fairly specific as the Leafs are looking for good young roster players in their early twenties. Montreal Canadiens The Habs have faced adversity this season, but keep on finding ways to win and remain a top team in the Eastern Conference. A sagging power play has regained some spark and when healthy, Carey Price has performed at his usual elite standard. Trying to nail general manager Marc Bergevin down on divulging internal secrets is a near futile exercise, but he talks to enough people around the league to surmise hes not satisfied with how his team looks. And if he can add a forward to strengthen his top two lines, he will. Bergevin is also believed to be looking for a defenceman - perhaps an upgrade to whats already considered a decent top five. Ottawa Senators Wayne Scanlan of The Ottawa Citizen wrote an excellent piece this week on Senators GM Bryan Murray and by Murrays own admission, this will very likely be his last season at the helm. Murray likes what he sees on this years roster and still believes Ottawa has a chance, though the standings are continuing to paint a different picture. Its believed Murray would also like to add a top six forward - an established player with some term remaining to give the Senators some stability. Trevor Siemian Jersey. Acquiring such a player is hard to do, though Murray found a way when winger Bobby Ryan was brought into town. While some believe it might be better for the Sens to wait and allow the younger players to develop, Murrays more immediate concern is his lack of roster space. Mark Borowiecki is very close to returning, which will force Ottawa to make a tough decision. Its likely that Colin Greening will be placed on waivers to open a spot. Meanwhile, the uncertainty of Marc Methots future continues to hang over the club as well. A pending UFA, Methot complements captain Erik Karlsson and is playing well. If a contract extension cant be worked out, Methot will likely be traded - which would create a large hole on Ottawas blue line. Given the spot duty assigned to veteran defenceman Chris Phillips (who has been a healthy scratch eight times this season), perhaps Murray finds a new home for a proud man who cant be happy with his limited role. All of this makes for difficult decisions for Bryan Murray and his management team to ponder. Winnipeg Jets The Jets appear to be a throwback example of hard work and chemistry paying off. Head coach Paul Maurice says he never goes to the rink concerned about how hard his team is willing to work. And it shows, as the Jets are highly regarded as one of the most difficult teams to play against. Comfortably in a playoff spot, no one in this organization is taking anything for granted. And this Jets team knows that the post All-Star grind will demand a high level of intestinal fortitude to secure that spot. General manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has assets he can dangle in a trade - particularly from his defence corps. The Jets would like to add a third line right winger, but given the play of this team, Cheveldayoff might consider something more significant to bolster his chances against the Western Conferences big boys. The Jets wont mortgage their future, but if they continue to string wins together and find a way to creep into the Top 10, there will be some interesting boardroom conversations leading up to the deadline. Vancouver Canucks The Canucks continue to quietly go about their business and with far less drama than weve seen in recent years. The team is where they thought they would be at the beginning of the season - in the playoff mix, but fighting to distance themselves from the Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings. Now Vancouver needs scoring and the team is hopeful that the right deal will materialize to add a second line forward. Dont expect GM Jim Benning to dive into the rental pool, as the Canucks have no intention of blowing out the young talent theyve accumulated over the last couple of seasons to acquire a player destined for free agency. And the rumour mill keeps linking the Canucks to Boston, given the obvious history Benning has as the Bruins former assistant GM. Calgary Flames Remarkably, the Flames remain one of the NHLs pleasant surprises this season. Approaching the 50-game mark, they are a playoff team, while the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings are not. Yes, its hard to believe. Head coach Bob Hartley has developed a winning culture in Calgary and similar to the job Maurice has done in Winnipeg, the buy-in from the players is impressive. But Flames GM Brad Treliving knows where his team is on the rebuilding road and while it might be enticing to fast-track the plan, he continues to evaluate his group to make sure he has the long-term pieces in the right fit. The team would like to add a defenceman and will remain open to all trade possibilities. But young key players wont be sacrificed based on where the Flames are positioned in the standings on Mar. 2. Edmonton Oilers General manager Craig MacTavish has faced enough challenges to last 10 lifetimes, but his to-do list is as long as ever as the club braces for another offseason of selling hope. Its hard to imagine the Oilers being quiet in the weeks leading up to deadline, but with three picks in the Top 35 in this Junes draft, MacTavish may wait to do the heavy lifting until the summer. If Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle or another member of the Oilers core is to be included in a game-changing swap, then this type of auction will clearly draw the most action in the off-season. Goaltending and defence are a top priority for the Oilers and another quality centre would help as well. Defenceman Jeff Petry will attract interest on the trade front and could be used in a package to satisfy one of the teams needs, or for another draft pick that the Oilers can use to load up for June. Viewers in the Canadiens region can watch the action unfold on TSN Canadiens at 7pm et/8pm at. The game can also be heard on TSN Radio 690 at 7pm et/8pm at. Crosby famously delivered the overtime game-winner for Team Canada in the 2010 gold medal game against the United States, but unlike four years ago in Vancouver the Canadians didnt need a dramatic finish to repeat as Olympic champions. Montreal will try to bounce back from a loss in its first game after the Olympics. The Canadiens were handed a 2-1 overtime loss by visiting Detroit on Wednesday to have a three-game winning streak halted. The Habs did not have No. 1 goaltender Carey Price for their first game back after he suffered a lower-body injury at practice on Wednesday morning. Price, who also will miss tonights game, anchored Team Canada in its gold medal run in Sochi, posting a 5-0 record, a 0.59 goals against average and .972 save percentage. Peter Budaj started on Wednesday and he stopped 28 shots before allowing Detroits Gustav Nyquist to score with just 27.3 seconds remaining in OT. Budaj well get the call between the pipes again this evening. The Canadiens still managed to notch a point thanks to Brian Giontas game- tying tally with just 28.7 seconds left in regulation. "In the third we started to pressure their D a little more and it paid off in the end," Gionta said. "In the first two periods, they were able to come through out of their zone quite easily." Budaj could get another start tonight for the Habs. Montreal also recalled Dustin Tokarski from its AHL affiliate in Hamilton on Wednesday to take Prices place on the roster. The Canadiens and Penguins have split a pair of games so far this season, but Pittsburgh has won four of five and seven of its last nine meetings with Montreal. The Habs, who are playing five of their next six games on the road, have dropped five straight in the Steel City. Pittsburgh returns from the break with a healthy 16-point lead atop the Metropolitan Division, but the club still has injury concerns to deal with. Defenseman Kris Letang is still out due to a stroke suffered prior to the Olympics. Fellow blueliner Paul Martin is out for at least a month after injuring his hand while representing the U.S. in Sochi. The Pens were 4-1-1 in their final six outings before the Olympics. The clubs next game will be played outdoors when Pittsburgh visits the Chicago Blackhawks for Saturdays game at Soldier Field, home of the NFLs Chicago Bears. Maurices Jets welcome Coyotes to MTS Centre The Winnipeg Jets have thrived under Paul Maurice despite injury limiting Evander Kane to just four games under the new head coach. Kane is expected to return to the lineup tonight when the Jets face the Phoenix Coyotes. Viewers in the Jets region can watch the action live on TSN Jets at 6:30pm ct/7:30pm et. The game can also be heard on TSN Radio 1290 at 7pm ct/8pm et. Winnipeg has gone 9-3-1 in 13 games since replacing Claude Noel with Maurice, who made his coaching debut with the club in a 5-1 win over the Coyotes on Jan. 13. Ondrej Pavelec made 18 saves and the Jets got goals from five different players to beat the Coyotes for a second straight time following a six-game series losing streak. The Jets have also won both of their meetings at home versus the Coyotes since relocating from Atlanta. Coincidentally, the Coyotes franchise used to call Winnipeg home before moving to Phoenix prior to the 1996-97 season. The current Jets have endured just one losing streak under Noel, a current two-game slide that includes a shootout setback to St. Louis in the final game before the Olympic break. Kane missed the last six games with a hand infection and has been limited to just four games since Jan. 7 due to injury. He has 15 goals and 29 points in 42 games this season. The fourth overall pick of the 2009 draft is likely to skate on a line tonight with Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele. "I want him to play his game in our framework," Maurice said of what he wants to see out of Kane. "Thats what Im asking from everybody. Keep the individual things that make you special, jjust fly in formation, especially when we dont have the puck. Air Max 270 Black. " The Jets come in with 62 points, two fewer than the Coyotes, who trail the Vancouver Canucks by just one point for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. Phoenix also is six points behind Los Angeles for third place in the Pacific Division. Consistency has been an issue for the Coyotes, who lost their final game before the Olympic break and are 4-5-1 since last winning back-to-back games on Jan. 16 and 18. Phoenix returns five players to its roster who competed in the Sochi Olympics, including goaltender Mike Smith, who won a gold medal with Team Canada even though he did not get into a game during the tournament. "I knew going over there that thered be a good possibility that I wouldnt get into a game," Smith told Phoenixs website. "I was just doing everything I could to be a part of the team and kind of keep the dressing room light and get to know a lot of the guys I play against (in the NHL)." Like the Coyotes, Smith has had an up-and-down season, going 20-17-9 with a 2.77 goals against average and .913 save percentage. Smith yielded all five goals on 38 shots in the earlier loss to the Jets, falling to 7-6-0 with a 2.53 GAA against the franchise. Pavelec is 2-1-1 in his career versus the Coyotes, posting a 1.73 GAA. Granlund, Ortio to make NHL debuts as Flames host Kings Fourteen points out of a playoff spot and considered a team still rebuilding, the Calgary Flames may feature a number of new faces down the stretch of the season. That will be the case tonight when a pair of players make their NHL debuts in a clash with the Los Angeles Kings. Watch the game live on TSN at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. Goaltender Joni Ortio and forward Markus Granlund are both expected to play tonight for the Flames after putting together solid campaigns so far with the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. The 20-year-old Granlund, a 2011 second-round pick of the Flames, has netted 23 goals and 44 points in 50 games with the Heat. He is expected to center the fourth line between Paul Byron and Kevin Westgarth. "You can play only one first NHL game, so Im just going to try and enjoy the game," said Granlund. Ortio, who like Granlund hails from Finland, is 20-6-0 in 28 games with the Heat this season, posting an impressive 2.22 goals against average. His start tonight will give Swiss Reto Berra some extra time to recover after having traveled to Sochi, Russia for the Olympics. Flames goaltender Karri Ramo is currently out with a sprained right MCL, opening the door for Ortio to debut along with Granlund. "Its exciting. Im happy that we get to make our debut at the same time," Ortio grinned. "Its a fun coincidence and its going to be fun." The Flames sit 14 points out of a wild card spot despite winning six of eight going into the Olympic break. They have managed to beat the Kings twice already this season in Los Angeles and will try to defeat the club at home for the first time in five encounters. The Kings will play their second game following the Olympic break, having bested the hosting Colorado Avalanche 6-4 last night. Anze Kopitar had two goals and an assist, while Justin Williams and Jeff Carter helped the rally with a goal and an assist each. Kopitar and Carter scored 2:04 apart in the second period to tie the game at 4-4 and Kopitars power-play goal 3:13 into the third frame put his club ahead for good. "Those two quick (goals) at the end of the second were huge and we carried that momentum into the third," Kopitar said. "Its nice to start off the third with a power play." Robyn Regehr and Jarret Stoll also lit the lamp as the Kings have won two straight following a four-game slide. They did so by scoring six goals, nearly half the output of the 15 goals they had scored in their previous 11 games. Backup Martin Jones stopped 25-of-29 shots in the victory, giving No. 1 goaltender Jonathan Quick some more rest after Quick served as the starting netminder for Team USA in the Olympics. Quick may start tonight and is 8-5-1 with a 1.62 GAA and .935 save percentage in 14 previous meetings with the Flames. • MIAMI -- Down by 15 early, the Miami Heat could have hit the panic button. Nike Air VaporMax Orange White . Instead, they found a way to move within two wins of another trip to the NBA Finals. LeBron James scored 26 points, Dwyane Wade added 23 and the Heat shook off a horrid start to beat the Indiana Pacers 99-87 on Saturday night in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, taking a 2-1 lead and breaking a back-and-forth trend in the rivalry. The teams had alternated wins and losses in 13 straight meetings -- until now. Miami once trailed 37-22, before outscoring Indiana 77-50 the rest of the way. "A lot of our situations that weve been through where weve struggled have been against this team," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "Thats what they do to you. Theyre very good. Its a function of their defence. "But we had no choice but try to re-gather." That they did. And then some. Ray Allen added 16 points and led a late-game charge for the Heat, who will host Game 4 on Monday night. And it was the second time this season the Heat rallied from 15 points down to beat the Pacers in Miami -- it also happened on Dec. 18. "Tough loss for our guys," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "Thought we competed pretty well, came out of the gates really strong, got off to a good start and then didnt manage our foul trouble well and didnt manage picking up their defensive intensity well." Its the third straight series where the Pacers have faced a deficit. "A ton," Vogel said when asked how much resiliency the Pacers have left. "Its very early in the series." Paul George scored 17 points for Indiana, shooting 5 for 13 in his return after being concussed late in Game 2. Roy Hibbert had 16 points, David West added 13 and Lance Stephenson scored 10 for the Pacers, who never trailed until early in the third quarter. Miami started the game 2 for 10 from the floor. The Heat then made 21 of their next 31 shots, including eight straight in the third that gave the two-time defending NBA champions their first lead. James dunk with 7:36 remaining in the third put Miami up for the first time, 52-51. That was the first of nine lead changes in the quarter, before the Heat did what Spoelstra implored his team to do in a pregame locker room address. "Impose our identity," Spoelstra said. Eventually, the message reached the Heat, and their two best players led the way. "We just want to get better as the series goes on," James said. "We want to move their defence from side to side. When we do that, we give ourselves an opportunity to get to the lane. And when our shooters get going it definitely adds more space as you saw in the fourth quarter." James 3-pointer with 1:21 left in the third put Miami up 67-63, then its biggest lead of the night. Wade subbed in for James with 5.7 seconds left because the four-time MVP was dealing with what appeared to be a hamstring cramp and connected on a 3-pointer with 1.4 ticks remaining for a 74-67 lead going into the fourth. James retreated toward the locker room at that point, stopping halfway down the hallway known as "Championship Alley" while trainer Mike Mancias stretched him out. Meanwhile, Wade -- not exactly known for behind-the-arc prowess -- opened the fourth quarter with another 3, the Heat were up 10 and the floodgates were opening. Indiana got to 76-74 before Allen made a 3-pointer, and with that, the tone was set for the final minutes. Allen made three 3s in the final 5:59, the last of those putting Miami up by 15. "I think we need to stick to what we do," West said. "We got away from ourselves. We tried to make some stuff on the fly, which is not us." The halftime score looked ugly: Pacers 42, Heat 38. That didnt even come close to describing how much Miami struggled at times. Heres one example: After 11 minutes, it was Hibbert 10, Heat 10. Indiana led 19-5 early and 37-22 midway through the second. Luis Scola scored eight points off the bench in less than three minutes, and the Pacers were rolling. Or at least, looked like they were rolling. In the final 6:22 of the half, they had more turnovers (six) than points (five). And Miami took advantage, especially after George went to the bench with his third foul. Wade and James combined for 14 of Miamis final 18 points in the second, and a pair of short shots by Wade in the final minute helped pull the Heat within four at the break. NOTES: Commissioner Adam Silver was in attendance, posing with plenty of fans for photos. ... Stephenson had nine rebounds by halftime. The Heat, in total, had 11. ... Heat F Shane Battier, announced earlier in the day as the winner of the leagues Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year award, got his trophy in a pregame ceremony from 2013 recipient Chauncey Billups. ... The Detroit Tigers closer blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning Wednesday night against the Dodgers. PITTSBURGH -- Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma was impressed by Kris Letang in his return after recovering from a stroke 10 weeks ago. Jussi Jokinen scored in regulation and then got the game-winner in the shootout, lifting Pittsburgh to a 4-3 victory over the playoff-bound Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night. James Neal scored two power-play goals in regulation -- his 25th and 26th of the season -- for Pittsburgh, which got the 26-year-old Letang back for the first time since January. "Hes been out a long time and he looked pretty darn good out there defending against some good players," Bylsma said. "He made a difference." Tomas Jurco, Jakub Kindl and Riley Sheahan scored for the Red Wings, who are headed to the post-season for an NHL-leading 23rd straight time. Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury had 34 saves through overtime and stopped all three attempts in the shootout, including a spinning acrobatic glove save on Daniel Alfredsson to preserve the win. "Players on the bench called it a (Dominik) Hasek-type save the way he put his glove out," Bylsma said. "Im not sure Ive seen a more acrobatic save from (Fleury)." On the winning goal, Jonas Gustavsson poked the puck off Jokinens stick but it caromed high over the Detroit goalie and into the net. "He lost the puck and it started rolling so I was going to touch it," Gustavsson said. "It took a funny bounce and lobbed over me. I guess it was a lucky break for them." With the scored tied 2-2, Letang -- who missed 26 games -- set up the go-ahead goal with 10:43 remaining in the third, his shot squeezing through Gustavsson before Jokinen found the loose puck to put Pittsburgh in front. It was Jokinens 19th goal of the season. "I had a lot of fun," Letang said. "It wasnt perfect for me, but I was just happy to be on the ice. Obviously its something I missed a lot." Sheahan forced overtime and put the Red Wings in the playoffs when he scored his seventh of the year with 1:15 left in regulation. "It was a pretty good feeling to get that point and give us a chance in the playoffs," Sheahan said. Detroit, like Pittsburgh, has endured injuries throughout the season, as the Red Wings are still without captain Henrik Zetterberg, who is recovering from back surgery. Top-pairing defenceman Jonathan Erricsson (finger), Daniel Cleary (knee) and Mikael Samuelsson (shoulder) also remain out. Nike Air VaporMax All Black. "Everyone gets injuries," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "You just cant get injuries to too many of the wrong people. The rest of these guys have stepped up." Zetterberg, who could begin skating next week, likely wont be ready for the first game of the post-season, though he could return at some point during the first round. That first-round matchup could come against the Penguins, a potential meeting that would pair the teams together for the third time since 2008, the first of back-to-back appearances in the Stanley Cup finals for both clubs. Pittsburgh, locked into the Eastern Conferences No. 2 seed, welcomed several stars back to the lineup, including captain Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz, Brooks Orpik, and Olli Maatta, who all missed Sundays shootout win at Colorado. The most significant return came on the blue line. Letang hadnt played since Jan. 27, two days before suffering a frightening stroke that threatened his 2013 season. Doctors have not pinpointed the cause of the stroke, but tests revealed a small hole in his heart, which hasnt been repaired and may have played a factor. Letang has been taken off blood-thinner medication, but his condition will be monitored. Pittsburgh general manager Ray Shero and Letang said they are confident the 2013 Norris Trophy finalist is not putting himself at greater risk by playing. Letang, welcomed back to the lineup with a loud ovation from the sellout crowd, was cleared by doctors several weeks ago and convinced Shero he was OK during a series of conversations while travelling with the team on a road trip last week. He looked well on his way back to form Wednesday. "There are some things I felt good about, some things I have to get my timing back," Letang said. "Hockey is about timing and, I dont know, maybe its going to take a week, maybe its going to take two weeks." NOTES: The Penguins are 49-18-2 in 69 games played the past two seasons with Letang in the lineup and 33-8-1 when he records a point. ... Pittsburgh recorded its 100th regular-season win at home, its 51st win equaling the second-highest total in team history. ... • INGLEWOOD, Calif. Mike White Cowboys Jersey . -- Although Juan Manuel Marquez rarely acts his age in the ring, the 40-year-old welterweight turned back the clock to a specific time and place while he battered Mike Alvarado. Under the spotlights, the smoke and the deafening cheers, Marquez was once again the king of the Forum ring, returning in grand style to the refurbished arena for one more celebration of his brilliance and longevity. Marquez won a clear unanimous decision over Alvarado on Saturday night, dominating in the Forums first boxing card in 13 years. "I wanted to give the public here a gift," the four-division champion said afterward while a pro-Marquez crowd roared its approval. "A gift that dignifies the history of this event and the history of the Forum. I wanted to make this fight a gift for the fans." Marquez (56-7-1) dismantled Alvarado with 12 rounds of technical brilliance and vicious power, knocking down Alvarado in the eighth round and bouncing back from his own ninth-round knockdown to finish strong, even staggering Alvarado right before the final bell. Judges Max DeLuca and Julie Lederman scored it 117-109 for Marquez, and Robert Byrd favoured him 119-108. The Associated Press also scored it 117-109 for Marquez, giving him 10 of the 12 rounds. Marquez improved to 13-0 at the Forum, the former featherweight prospects regular home during the late 1990s. Although he once lived in Anaheim, Marquez hadnt fought in California since his last Forum bout in 1999, and thousands of his local fans turned out to support arguably the greatest Mexican fighter of his generation. The win sets up Marquez for a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao in the fall in Macau, if Marquez wants it. His knockout victory over Pacquiao in December 2012 was the crowning moment of his career, but the money might compel him to add a fifth chapter to their rivalry. "Well relax first," Marquez said. "I dont know at the moment, but any decision we make will be good for me, good for my family and good for the Mexican fans." Alvarado (34-3) never got rolling in his second straight defeat, struggling to land any major shots beyond the right that sent Marquez to the canvas. "It was a bad experience being in there with a legend," Alvarado said. "I was warming up a little bit too much before I started getting off. It was on me, but it was a great fight." Marquez, who made $1.4 million, showcased the roots of his success against Alvarado, whose apparent fear of Marquezs famed counterpunching left him waiting for Marquez to clobber him. Marquez outlanded Alvarado in 11 rounds, connecting with 44 per cent of his 627 punches. His power shots were even more devastating, landing 57 per cent to just 34 per cent for Alvarado. Marquez was in charge from the opening rounds. With Alvarado sitting back and waiting, Marquez pounded him to the body and pulped the left side of his face, opening a cut under his eye in the middle rounds. "Thats the kind of fighter I am. I like wars," Alvarado said. "Thats how he exploited me, but thats how I fight." Marquez knocked down Alvarado with a counter right hand in the final seconds of the eighth, sending Alvarado sliding under the ropes and nearly off the canvas into the photographers. Alvarado recovered after the bell, and he knocked down Marquez with a double right hand early in the ninth, stunning the crowd. But the shot only seemed to enrage Marquez, who landed big combinations for the rest of the round. Alvarados face was swollen with damage under both eyes in the final rounds. Alvarado wobbled Marquez again in the 11th round, but Marquez kept his feet and finished to a standing ovation. Marquez took a split-decision loss to Timothy Bradley last fall in his first fight since his victory over Pacquiao, but he was back on top in the heralded return of boxing to the Forum, the former home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. The Forum was a boxing hotbed for 30 years, hosting Muhammad Alis second fight with Ken Norton along with dozens of fight nights promoted by the late Lakers owner Jerry Buss. "It was a very entertaining fight, and the thing that really thrills me is its a great fight to come back to the Forum with," Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said. "So many years ago, there were so many nights at the Forum when we had fights like this." Alvarado hadnt fought since Ruslan Provodnikov stopped him last fall. Alvarado moved away from his native Denver to the Los Angeles area in preparation for this bout, determined to avoid the pitfalls lurking in his hometown. Chidobe Awuzie Jersey . The Pope greeted Klose at his general audience Wednesday and the pair had a long chat. Klose is German like the pope, although he was born in Poland. In Sundays derby, Lazio took the lead in the seventh minute after Maarten Stekelenburg brought down Klose, resulting in the Roma goalkeeper being sent off and a penalty that Hernanes converted. PITTSBURGH -- Since Jerome Bettis retired after the 2005 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have searched for a big, bruising running back in his mould. The list of hopefuls has been long, if not particularly distinguished. Verron Haynes, Najee Davenport, Carey Davis, Gary Russell, Frank Summers, Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman all failed to consistently provide production in short-yardage and goal line situations. Enter LeGarrette Blount. The 6-foot, 250-pound veteran certainly looks the part. And while he has a long way to go to be mentioned with the likes of Bettis, there have been plenty of flashes during his four seasons in the league. Blount averaged 5.0 yards per carry while splitting time with Stevan Ridley in New England last season, and gashed the Indianapolis Colts for 166 yards and four touchdowns in the playoffs. Though second-year back LeVeon Bell remains the starter, Blount is confident he can make an impact no matter what situation. "I know they brought me in here to run the football, so I hope there are plenty of carries to go around," Blount said Wednesday. "I know that LeVeon is going to get his fair share, so I hope theres enough for all of us." Bell, last years second-round pick, missed the opening three games while recovering from a preseason foot injury. But he still played nearly 700 snaps, a heavy workload the 6-foot-1, 230-pound Bell managed with ease. Still, the Steelers will find opportunities to go from the patient and pragmatic Bell to the bruising Blount, with the emphasis on bruising. "Thats my running style," Blount said. "Thats how I run the football, and I feel like (Bell) is also a big, tough running back, too. So, thats just how this team is built, with a physical running game, and I think thats what theyre trying to get back to. So, hopefully, we can do that." Blount noted a balannced offence is needed to make a run to the Super Bowl such as the ones by Seattle and Denver last year. Dalton Schultz Jersey. The champion Seahawks had Marshawn Lynch running the ball and Russell Wilson throwing it, while the Broncos ran the ball with Knowshon Moreno when Peyton Manning wasnt breaking NFL passing records. "I think its huge for us to (sign Blount), because Ive always said that we need to be a balanced offence," quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said. "So, we need to run the ball. We need to be great at running the ball, and weve got guys that want to be great at running the ball. So, hopefully, we can do it and do it successfully." Blount added that while his body type and size make him an ideal power back, he has a variety of skill sets, such as catching the football and running away from defenders in the open field. But he certainly has proven he can run over them as well. Those attributes, combined with Bells slashing style, should give the Steelers a solid one-two punch. "I think we have a really good mix of running backs," Blount said. "(But) Ive seen the NFL Network, and they have these top 10 or top five running back duos in the NFL. I noticed that were not one of them, and I dont like it. In all honesty, I believe theyre downgrading the skill level that we have in our backfield. . I think thats kind of disrespectful." Does that mean Blount and Bell have something to prove? "Were not going to go out here and go on about how were not in that group," Blount said. "But were going to go out there and show that we belong there with our performance." NOTES: RB Dri Archer has missed the opening two OTAs, just like linebacker Jordan Zumwalt from UCLA, because his school is on the quarters system and their class has not yet graduated. . • Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork. Jose Sosa Jersey .com) - The Belk Bowl will pit a pair of top-20 teams for the first time in its 13-year history, as the 13th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and 20th-ranked Louisville Cardinals battle at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Dec 30. The matchup is a classic great offense vs. great defense affair, as Georgia boasted the highest scoring offense in the SEC and Louisville ranked sixth in the entire country in total defense. Georgia has had a month to dwell on its last regular season game, and the Bulldogs still probably have a bad taste in their mouth about it. Even though the possibility of reaching the SEC title game was out of reach, the Bulldogs still had a chance at upending in-state rival Georgia Tech. A touchdown with 18 seconds left in regulation gave Georgia the lead, but an improbable Yellow Jackets field goal forced overtime. Georgia Tech scored a touchdown in OT, and Hutson Mason was intercepted on the ensuing series to end the 30-24 heartbreaking loss. The interception was Masons final throw at Sanford Stadium, spoiling an otherwise terrific season that saw the senior lead a prolific offense. The architect behind the attack, coordinator Mike Bobo, was named Colorado States head coach last week and will not be coaching in the bowl game. His duties will be taken over by Will Friend, head coach Mark Richt said. Mason completed 67.9 percent of his passes for 2,019 yards with 20 touchdowns to just four interceptions. His 154.8 passer rating ranked second in the SEC. He accumulated those numbers without having a go-to receiving, as Michael Bennetts 35 catches led the team. Chris Conley recorded a team-high 577 yards and seven touchdowns on 32 receptions, and six other players caught at least 10 passes. The running game is where Georgia really shined, as it gained 3,060 yards and 35 TDs on the ground. Nick Chubb was a phenomenal fill-in for Todd Gurley, whose Heisman campaign was derailed when he was suspended four games for accepting cash for autographed memorabilia. Gurley amassed a stunning 794 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in five games before being suspended, then gashed Auburn for 138 yards and a score upon his return. He tore his ACL during Georgias signature win, and Chubb took over the backfield duties for good. The Bulldogs did not miss a beat with the freshman toting the rock, as Chubb gained 1,326 yards and 12 touchdowns while earning a 6.9 ypc average. He was named to the All-SEC First Team. Georgias defense often gets overlooked with the offense hogging the headlines, but the Bulldogs unit held opponents to 21.2 ppg and just 334 ypg. Three Georgia defenders were named to the All-SEC Second Team, including linebackers Amarlo Herrera and Ramik Wilson. The duo totaled 112 and 102 tackles, respectively, with a combined four sacks. Defensive back Damian Swann made the Second Team on the strength of three interceptions, four forced fumbles and 62 tackles. The Bulldogs have played in a bowl game 17 straight years and are 27-19-3 in the postseason. They lost to Nebraska in last years Gator Bowl. Ten wins is something to be proud of, although its not what we wanted to accomplish, Mason said. Im a black and white guy and we didnt get the job done this year with what we wanted to do in winning the SEC Championship. This is where were at so lets go 10-3 and not 9-4 and lets finish the season off right. While Georgia may not have lived up to expectations, the Cardinals first year in the ACC can be seen as a success. The program welcomed back embattled head coach Bobby Petrino despite his tumultuous departure from the school eight years ago. Petrino, always a winner at the college level, guided the Cardinals to a 9-3 record and a 5-3 mark in conference play -- good for third place in the Atlantic Division. Louisville, which was not ranked in the preseason polls, won its final three regular season games despite a change at quarterback. Reggie Bonnafon took over for injured starter Will Gardner and went 4-1 as a starter, but he too, went down with a knee injury in the regular season finale against Kentucky. The freshman was so-so throwing the ball and tossed for only five touchdowns with three interceptions on 51.3 percent efficiency. He did show duel-threat ability with five rushing scores, however. Redshirt freshman Kyle Bolin will start in Bonnafons place if he does not recover in time from a bone bruise in his left knee. On the ground, the Cardinals got the most out of sophomore Brandon Radcliff, who amassed 648 yards and 11 touchdowns. He and Michael Dyer each average over 50 ypg on the ground. Bonnafon had the luxury of throwing to one of the nations premier wideouts in DeVante Parker. The extremely talented senior missed the first half of the season with a foot injury but has made up for lost time with 35 catches for 735 yards and five touchdowns in five games. Defensively the Cardinals have been stellar, allowing just 20.5 ppg and only 293.2 ypg to opponents. They are especially good against the run, limiting teams to 93.7 rushing ypg having given up just nine ground scores all season long. Gerod Holliman tied the NCAA record for interceptions in a season with 14 and won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nations top defensive back. While Holliman locks down the secondary, the Cardinals know stopping Georgias running game is of the utmost importance. Its going to be one of the toughest (tests), linebacker Keith Kelsey said. Theyve got good running backs and good running game. Georgia is just a physical team. Weve got to put on our pads and go after it every play. Louisville is 9-8-1 in the postseason and lost the 2011 Belk Bowl to NC State. A win would give the Cardinals 10 wins for the third straight year. We want to get to 10 wins, Petrino said. Thats certainly something our seniors would be very proud of so they can look back at their career and see the double-digit winning seasons theyve had. Ricardo Rodriguez Jersey . -- Two-time AL Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana agreed Tuesday to a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles as he tries to come back from the second major operation on his left shoulder. Luca Antonelli Jersey . -- Washington Capitals forward Brooks Laich is expected to miss the rest of the regular season after having an operation on a groin muscle.A great call, but it falls behind Bob Costas quoting Ludacris lyric where Costas himself was name-dropped. Andrea Bertolacci JerseyWholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys NFL Jerseys From China Cheap Nike Basketball Jerseys Wholesale Hockey JerseysChina Nike Baseball Jerseys Cheap College Jerseys China Cheap Football Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Canada Wholesale NHL Jerseys Canada Wholesale Nike MLB Jerseys Canada Cheap NBA Jerseys Authentic Canada Stitched Soccer Jerseys Canada Cheap Jerseys Canada NFL ' ' '

    • Canadian freestyle skiers and medal hopefuls Alex Bilodeau and World Cup champion Mikaël Kingsbury have qualified for the finals of mens moguls on Monday morning. Nike Air Max 98 Yellow . Bilodeau and Kingsbury finished first and second place in qualifying Monday morning, earning scores of 24.70 and 23.81, respectively. Other results Two other Canadians were competing. Philippe Marquis came in sixth with Marc-Antoine Gagnon just ahead of him in fifth, so both will move on. Russian skier Alexandr Smyshlyaev came in third with a score of 23.52. The top 10 finishers were guaranteed a chance to move on. Anyone outside the top 10 can still qualify by skiing again. The finals are scheduled to happen around 1 p.m. eastern time. Canadian-born Australian skier Dale Begg-Smith, who finished second to Bilodeau in Vancouver, did not crack the top 10 and must ski again to qualify for the finals. Bilodeau and Kingsbury are a big part of why Canada has come to dominate the moguls hill in recent years. Theyve taken turns atop the World Cup standings for much of the past four years. The 21-year-old Kingsbury is the reigning world champion, but the 26-year-old Bilodeau comes to Sochi having won each of the last three events. "I feel great. Ive worked hard," Bilodeau said. "The work is done and Im just trying to enjoy the moment. Its my last Olympic experience and its so fun. Each time Im here I feel like I want to be here forever." Worlds best Bilodeau is skiing well but Kingsbury seems to be peaking and isnt shying away from lofty expectations. "I think I can win any event if I ski at my best, so I will focus to do the best run of my life for the job that I need to do," he said. "Basically it hit the board, every part of the rim, hit Jerry West over there (the logo on the backboard), came back over and it was definitely an ugly, ugly shot," he said. But when the 19-foot jumper bounced up and then fell in as time expired, the Dallas Mavericks had a 110-108 victory over the New York Knicks on Monday night. The Mavericks blew an eight-point lead in the final 90 seconds, then pulled out their third straight victory when Nowitzkis jumper that seemed to have missed instead fell through. "I didnt even feel like celebrating it was so ugly," Nowitzki said. His teammates and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban did it for him, rushing onto the floor after Dallas moved into seventh place in the Western Conference. Carmelo Anthony had 44 points and nine rebounds for the Knicks. He played strong defence on the Mavericks final possession, but was left standing in disbelief long after the buzzer after Nowitzkis shot appeared to hit the backboard first, then the front rim, then bounced up before dropping. "It was like a needle in a balloon right there," Anthony said. "It sucks all the air out of you. He hit a hell of a shot." Vince Carter made seven three-pointers and scored a season-high 23 points. Monta Ellis had 22 for Dallas (35-23), which has won nine of 11 and is a season-best 12 games over .500. Jose Calderon finished with 20 points for the Mavericks, who swept a three-game road trip and beat the Knicks for the 20th time in the last 25 meetings. Nowitzki had just 15 points after missing all five three-point attempts. "Thats one thing about the greatest players. I played with (Larry) Bird for three years. He took more pleasure in hitting a game-winning shot after he missed eight or nine in a row than having a great game at times," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. Tyson Chandler had 12 points and 12 rebounds against his former team, sparking the Knicks comeback after they trailed 108-100 with 1:37 left. But New York (21-36) lost for the sixth time in seven games and fell a season-worst 15 games below .500. The Knicks had blown big leads in their last two games, giving away a 14-point advantage at Orlando and a 17-point cushion at Atlanta, collapses that coach Mike Woodson called "mind-boggling. Nike Air Max 98 All Red. quot; This one had to hurt worse. "There were games last year when our backs were against the wall and we just found a way to win," Woodson said. "This year when weve been in the situation where we needed a big stop or two we havent been able to get it done." The Mavericks seemed to have put it away when Calderon made a three-pointer, and Brandan Wright followed with a basket to stretch the late lead to eight points. But after Raymond Feltons basket, Chandler converted a three-point play, then came up with a steal to start a break that ended with Anthonys three-pointer that tied it at 108 with 50 seconds remaining. The Knicks got the ball back after a Dallas miss but committed a shot-clock violation, giving Dallas the ball for Nowitzkis winner. "We maybe shouldnt be in the situation at the end, I think six points up," Calderon said. "It was a good lead with 1:20 or something, but it was good at the end." Amare Stoudemire scored nine points in his first start since the end of the 2011-12 season for the Knicks, who had just 10 available players after waiving Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih earlier Monday following contract buyouts. The Mavericks shot 55 per cent and led 31-21 after one quarter, but the Knicks came right back and made 14 of 19 shots (74 per cent) while scoring 38 points in the second, when Anthony scored 17 points. New York erased a 14-point deficit to grab a two-point lead on Anthonys jumper with 11 seconds left, but Ellis made a three-pointer as time expired to give Dallas a 60-59 edge. Dallas had the lead back up to eight in the final minute of the third, but Anthony made three free throws, then nailed a three-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining as the Knicks trimmed it to 84-82. NOTES: Woodson said he would talk with team president Steve Mills on Tuesday to discuss filling the teams open roster spots. He said he thought the Knicks needed a big man with Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin still injured, and a guard who could defend on the perimeter. ... The 6-foot-6, 321-pound former University of Washington player has spent five seasons with the Raiders after four with Jacksonville. He has made 46 starts in 63 games for Oakland, starting 11 games last season at left tackle and five at left guard. "Im so excited to be back," Barnes said in a statement released by the team. Pominville scored in all three of Minnesotas games last week to help the Wild (8-4-3, 19 points) earn four out of a possible six points. His best performance was in a 4-3 win over Montreal on Friday, where he posted a season-high three points (two goals, one assist), including the game-winning goal. DENVER -- Jorge De La Rosa sweated almost as much watching the Colorado bullpen preserve the win as he did earning it. These days, nothing comes easy for the Rockies. De La Rosa pitched six strong innings before giving way to a shaky bullpen and the Rockies snapped a five-game skid by holding off the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers 8-7 on Saturday. "We won and thats all that matters," De La Rosa said. The Rockies are 3-16 since June 16 -- with De La Rosa (9-6) accounting for every win. The lefty allowed two runs and three hits, all in the first inning. He then watched the bullpen almost completely unravel. What looked like a blowout -- Colorado led 8-2 -- suddenly turned into a game when the Dodgers scored five runs in the seventh. But Adam Ottavino put the brakes on the rally, with De La Rosa nervously watching on a television in the clubhouse. "It was a tough situation, but we got out of there," said De La Rosa, who tied Jeff Francis for the second-most wins (64) in Rockies history. Dan Haren (8-5) gave up a season-high eight runs in 5 1-3 innings while striking out eight. He had a hard act to follow after teammate Clayton Kershaws masterful performance the night before, when he allowed two hits in eight innings. "I did my best, just didnt work out," Haren said. Drew Stubbs hit a two-run homer, Corey Dickerson added a solo shot and Wilin Rosario contributed two RBI singles as the Rockies ended a six-game slide against the Dodgers. The team was without NL hitting leader Troy Tulowitzki, who rested a tight groin for a second straight game. Los Angeles took advantage of three hits and two errors in a two-run first. But De La Rosa was tricky to solve after that. "Hes just effectively wild," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly explained. "He makes you swing out of the strike zone because hes always kind of around it." De La Rosa was taken out for a pinch hitter in the sixth inning after throwing 100 pitches. The Dodgers immediately pounced on reliever Nick Masset, who gave up four runs and recorded no outs before departingg with a tweaked left knee. Washington Redskins Jerseys. A rusty Boone Logan, who was activated from the 15-day disabled list Saturday, didnt fare much better, loading the bases without getting an out. The booing began from the Coors Field crowd, which Rockies manager Walt Weiss fully understood. "We have an 8-2 lead and looked like we had the game in hand," Weiss said. "It looked like it was slipping away in that seventh." Enter Ottavino, who got Juan Uribe to hit into a double play. After an intentional walk, Ottavino worked the Rockies out of the jam by striking out A.J. Ellis. In the eighth, Ottavino escaped another sticky situation by striking out Yasiel Puig and getting Hanley Ramirez to ground out with Dee Gordon on second. "Tried to bring everything I had," Ottavino said. "It worked out today." Colorado had a chance to cushion its lead in the eighth, but Puig made a highlight catch in right. He came in on a ball before realizing it was over his head. He dived backward to make the grab, quickly got up and rifled a throw to the infield, doubling up Rosario at third after the Rockies catcher tried to tag up. LaTroy Hawkins pitched a perfect ninth for his 15th save in 16 chances. "Luckily for us, we were able to hang on there," Stubbs said. "Regardless if its 8-7 or 8-2, a wins a win." • DETROIT – Randy Carlyle made sure he was being asked about James Reimer after a one-goal loss in Detroit, pausing before he offered an assessment of the now 26-year-old understudy. Sergio Gomez Jersey . “I thought he was okay, you know, just okay,” said Carlyle with a tone of evident frustration after a 3-2 defeat to the injury-riddled Red Wings squad, the Leafs third in the past four games. Long a point of stability this season Toronto goaltending has suddenly been thrown into question with Carlyles remarks, Reimers performance and the uncertain status of injured no. 1 Jonathan Bernier. Starting in place of Bernier for the second straight game – his fourth consecutive appearance – Reimer allowed three goals on 31 shots, including a game-sealing squeaker under the left arm from Daniel Alfredsson with the Leafs down one in the final minutes of regulation. It was the kind of stop Bernier has made routinely this season, one that Reimer needed to make at that point in the game and perhaps what soured Carlyle most afterward, Torontos comeback attempt ultimately falling short. “So he said I was just okay,” said Reimer, responding to Carlyles comments. “I thought I played good, but obviously youd like to make at least one of those saves in the third.” Such blunt discontent was certainly out of character for Carlyle, who rarely, if ever, singles out any one player, even under the most obvious of circumstances. He was surely agitated by the loss – which saw the Leafs drop further behind Tampa and Montreal in the race for second in the Atlantic – unhappy with the officiating and displeased with a schedule that has his club right back at it Wednesday following 10 long days on the road. To land Reimer in the cross-hairs though on this night was unfair. His team started slowly opposite a Detroit squad that was missing a slew of key components, including Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk. They also suffered breakdowns – Tim Gleason and Paul Ranger both caught flat-footed at the offensive blue-line – that led to Nyquists two breakaways, while also managing just two goals for the third time in four games (all losses). Whatever his motivation the remarks wont help a sketchy dynamic between coach and player, one that includes a very public stare-down from Reimer in the first period of a loss to these same Red Wings on Dec. 21. Further inflaming the matter afterward were the words of Reimers agent and close friend Ray Petkau, who tweeted, "As is customary in Toronto, when your team plays poor defensively game after game you blame your goalie." Petkau later said the tweet was not in response to Carlyles comments. Doubted and dissected often throughout his Toronto tenure and a restricted free agent to be in the summer of 2014, Reimer will probably use this latest bit of critique as motivation and for the Leafs that may be a good thing. Bernier remains out for the foreseeable future (more on that in Five Points) leaving Reimer as the go-to guy in goal with key division battles ahead against the Lightning and Canadiens. They need him to regain the form he showed last year and displayed recently in relief against the Kings, a brilliant performance that saw him turn aside all 31 shots he faced in an impressive road win. “I dont know if I was great and I would like to be great, but I thought I made some good saves when I needed to,” Reimer concluded of his evening. “Unfortunately at the end, especially that third one, you want to come and make a big save for your team there. Unfortunately wasnt the case tonight.” Five Points 1. Kessel Cools Off Cooling off from an unsustainably scorching stretch that saw him post 31 points in a 17-game span, Phil Kessel had seven shots and was a force against the Red Wings, but ultimately went point-less for the fourth straight game and sixth time in the past eight. Its the fifth time this season that the 26-year-old has gone three games or more without a point. The Leafs are now 6-19-2 on such occasions, two of those wins coming in recent weeks against the Flyers and Kings. Chasing the first 40-goal season of his NHL career – he has 34 currently – Kessel has just one goal in the past eight games. James van Riemsdyk, who thrived through a recent stretch of 11 goals and 21 points in 17 games, has also cooled some, snapping a seven-game drought with the late marker in Detroit. The Leafs have leaned heavily on their top line – which also includes Tyler Bozak – for offence, needing the likes of Nazem Kadri (two goals in the past 13 games), Joffrey Lupul (two goals in the past 13), David Clarkson (one in the past 22) and Mason Raymond (the hottest of the group with six in the past 15) to chip in regularly for support. Aside from the odd contribution, however, theyve not done so consistently. Toronto forwards were responsible for only five goals (of 12) during the five-game road trip. 2. Road Trip A road trip that began with so much promise for the Leafs – following wins in Anaheim and Los Angeles – soured at the end with losses in Washington and Detroit. Toronto finishes the season-long swing with a 2-3-0 mark, not bad, but hardly desirable. “I wouldnt call it a success,” said Jake Gardiner, who scored for the fourth time in the past six games. “We were thinking three out of five wouldve been good. Two of five is okay. Games on the road are always tough, something we have to move on from.” “This game and the last game I dont think that we played as well as we have been playing or can play so thats the negative about it,” said Carlyle. “But we battled back, we didnt quit, we found a way to get two goals tonight and make a game of it. Flush this and get ready for tomorrow.” The Leafs have played two more games than the Lightning, whom they host Wednesday, and trail them by a point. They sit three back of the Canadiens, whom they face at home on Saturday. 3. Wearing Down? Second and third among Toronto forwards in ice-time this season and both key members of Team USA at the Sochi Olympics, one might be led to wonder whether Kessel and van Riemsdyk are simply wearing down at this late stage in the season. Both have seen their ice-time rise (slightly) in March as the Leafs trend toward an 11-forward, seven-defender lineup. Kessel, who had a second period breakaway attempt stopped by Jimmy Howard, actually entered the night as the team-leader in ice-time this month, averaging more than 22 minutes. van Riemsdyk was just a touch behind at nearly 22 himself. “Its been very demanding,” said Carlyle of the schedule and its effects on playing time. “Its the first time in my career that you go out on a 10-day road trip and you come back and youve got to play back-to-back at home with your first game back. I dont know where that one comes from.” van Riemsdyk led all Toronto forwards this night with more than 22 minutes, Kessel a shade behind with just under 21, including exactly nine minutes in the third. Carlyle employed eight forwards for most of that final frame as the Leafs looked to even the score. 4. Bernier Status Nursing a groin injury, Bernier remained off the ice for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday. He then missed his second straight game in Detroit and will sit out again at home on Wednesday when the Leafs host the Lightning. With a likely day off for the team on Thursday, his status for the weekend also appears in real doubt with a back-to-back looming against the Canadiens and Devils. That would mean a return next week at the earliest, all of which ups the pressure on Reimer to perform. “Theres always going to be that push to get your people back,” said Carlyle ahead of a tilt against the Red Wings. “Bottom line is the player makes the decision. All we can do is treat him medically, provide him with the right environment, give him the opportunity to test his injury if hes good enough to go and well make the decision based upon input from him the player.” Though hes split each and every back-to-back set between his two goaltenders this season, Carlyle would be hard-pressed to not come back with Reimer on Wednesday even in light of Tuesdays circumstance. Though hes enjoyed a fine season with the Marlies, Drew MacIntyre has yet to start an NHL game. 5. Phaneuf Scare Upended by the stick of David Legwand in the final frame of Tuesdays affair, Dion Phaneuf remained down on the ice before quickly departing for the Toronto dressing room. He returned to the bench a few moments later, chirping at ref Dan OHalloran for the non-call on Legwand. “Theres no point in talking about it,” said Phaneuf afterward. “It wasnt a slew foot, it was actually a stick, but its done and over with.” The Leafs captain said he had the wind knocked out of him on the play. He still managed to lead his team with more than 23 minutes on this night. Stats-Pack 2-3-0 – Leafs record on five-game road trip. 1 – Goals for Phil Kessel in the past eight games. 208 – Man games lost to injury for Toronto this season, a pittance compared to the 322 lost by Detroit, who were without the likes of Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, Stephen Weiss, and Darren Helm on Tuesday night. 6-19-2 – Leafs record this season when Kessel does not record a point. 4 – Consecutive appearances by James Reimer, doing so for the first time this season. 6 – Consecutive games with a goal by the Toronto defence, four of which have come from Jake Gardiner. 5 – Goals from Toronto forwards on the five-game road trip. 41-48 – Leafs penalty kill over the past 16 games. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Al Jefferson and the Charlotte Bobcats cant help but sneak a peek at the Eastern Conference standings every now and again. "I would be great to get in that sixth spot," Jefferson said. The reasoning if obvious: It would help the Bobcats avoid a potential first-round playoff series with Indiana or Miami. For now, the Bobcats are the seventh seed in the East, but theyre gaining ground. Charlotte took a big step on Wednesday night with Jefferson scoring 35 points and Kemba Walker adding a double-double in a 116-111 overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The win pulled the Bobcats within 1/2 games of sixth-seeded Washington, which lost Wednesday night to Phoenix, and three games behind the fifth-seeded Nets. "I think if we continue to win games everything will take care of itself, everything will work out," Jefferson said. "At this point we should be happy and blessed to be in any (playoff) spot." Walker had 20 points and 12 assists, and Chris Douglas-Roberts added 16 points, including two big jump shots in overtime. Deron Williams finished with 29 points for Brooklyn after scoring 18 in the first quarter. Joe Johnson had 18. Josh McRoberts put the Bobcats ahead for good in overtime when he cut to the basket, received a pass from Jefferson and twisted his body in midair for a reverse dunk in traffic, bringing the crowd to its feet. Douglas-Roberts and Johnson traded 3-pointers before Walker hit a 19-footer over Williams to push the lead to 114-111. Shaun Livingston missed a driving layup with 35 seconds left and the Bobcats got the ball. McRoberts was blocked on the ensuing possession, but Douglas-Roberts tracked down the loose ball and made a 20-footer from the left wing to push the lead to five and seal the victory. "I thought the defence was great, but in the end, we come up with a blocked shot, the ball bounces, and you know CDR, he makes a shot with the shot clock winding down and so everybody executed," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "The ball just bounced their way tonight." Williams tied the game with 26.8 seconds left in regulation when he knocked down a 20-footer from the left wing. The Bobcats had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation, but the ball slipped out of Walkers hands as time expired. Eric Oelschlagel Jersey. Douglas-Roberts joined the Bobcats in December from the NBA Developmental League and has been a reliable contributor during the teams playoff push. He saw extra minutes off the bench with Gary Neal out with an ankle injury. "Im very confident when Im on the floor and I go in there knowing I have to contribute for this team," Douglas-Roberts said. Williams set a career-high with 57 points in this same building against the Bobcats on March 4, 2012. And early on he looked like he was aiming to better the mark. Despite missing the morning shootaround with an illness, he made seven of his first eight shots, including four 3-pointers to finish with 18 points in the first quarter. The Bobcats, who have surrendered 62 points to Carmelo Anthony and 61 points to LeBron James this season, seemed intent not to allow that to happen again. They shaded their coverage to Williams in the second quarter and he was limited to only two more points before halftime. In the meantime, Jefferson was starting to heat up, scoring 22 points in the first half on 9-of-14 shooting, using a variety of low-post moves and jump hooks. "We gave him some easy ones early," Brooklyns Mason Plumlee said. "... You cant give a great scorer easy buckets early." Brooklyns Jorge Gutierrez was ejected from the game with 6:42 left in the fourth quarter after a flagrant two foul against Cody Zeller. Zeller grabbed an offensive rebound and Gutierrez came down hard with both hands on Zellers shoulders, sending the 7-footer crashing to the hardwood. "I watched the replay and it looked pretty bad -- but that wasnt my intention to do that," Gutierrez said. "Coach always says Nothing easy. Make them earn it on the free throw line. I was just trying to do a hard play." NOTES: The Bobcats are 12-7 since the All-Star break. ... Grammy Award winner Nelly took in the game from a courtside seat. ... The Bobcats and Wells Fargo gave away a new home to former Marine Josh Morgan during the first half of the game as part of the Military Warriors Support Foundation. • PHOENIX -- Corey Dickerson entered Sundays game with eight hits in his last 15 at-bats. CM Punk Jersey . But until the 10th inning, the Colorado Rockies outfielder was hitless. That changed quickly when Dickerson drove a two-out, 0-1 pitch into the pool deck beyond the right field fence for the tiebreaking home run in the Rockies 5-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. "I try to take the barrel straight to the ball. I dont try to do too much with it," Dickerson said. The Rockies avoided a seventh straight loss to Arizona and snapped a three-game skid overall with just their second win in 10 games. Dickersons 14th homer of the season came off Oliver Perez (2-2), who made a mistake with a hanging slider over the middle of the plate as he tried to use a quick-pitch. "Going through the at-bat I went up there looking for something out over the plate," Dickerson said. "He slide-stepped that second pitch and I just used my hands in reaction." Wilin Rosario, whose throwing error allowed the Diamondbacks to take a 3-2 lead in the fourth, hit a solo home run to tie the game in the sixth. Rosario singled in a run in the 10th to pad the Rockies lead. Ben Paulsen, called up Sunday to replace the injured Carlos Gonzalez on the roster, hit his first major league home run in the second, evening the score at 2. "The home run beat us," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "We had a lot of pressure on them, we had a lot of opportunities. We were 2 of 14 with guys in scoring position." Mark Trumbo doubled down the right field line in the first off Franklin Morales to drive in Ender Inciarte and Aaron Hill and give Arizona the lead. Diamondbacks starter Wade Miley struck out eight in six innings, allowing three runs on five hits with two walks. Morales was also fairly sharp, allowing two earned runs on five hits in six innings. Matt Belisle (3-6) got one out by working out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth for the win. LaTroy Hawkins picked up his 18th save by striking out the side in the 10th. "Were in a position where we cant play it safe. Take chances," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "Thats where were at." INCENDIARY INCIARTE Inciartes first-inning infield single gave him an 11-game hitting streak. Since July 12, Inciarte has hit safely in 18 of 19 games and reached base via a walk or hit in 20 of the last 21. BROTHERS GETS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE The Rockies Rex Brothers gets some credit for his teams win. In the ninth with the scored tied at 3, Brothers threw out the speedy Didi Gregorius at second base on a fielders choice, preventing runners from being on first and second with no outs. After loading the bases with a walk and single from Hill, Brothers induced a groundball to shortstop from the hot-hitting David Peralta for the second out, then gave way to Belisle. "It was kind of an instinctual play," Brothers said of throwing out Gregorius. TRAINERS ROOM Rockies: Gonzalez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with knee and ankle injuries. ... • LONDON -- Swedish hockey star Nicklas Backstrom will receive an Olympic silver medal even though he was suspended from the final in Sochi after a positive drug test. Buy Air Max Plus . The International Olympic Committee ruled Friday that Backstrom had not intended to enhance his performance, laying the blame for his positive test for pseudoephedrine on the Swedish team doctor. The Washington Capitals centre was suspended and pulled from the team just hours before the Feb. 23 gold-medal game, which Sweden lost 3-0 to Canada. The Swedes were outraged by the timing of the decision and said it affected the teams performance. The IOC defended the suspension, saying it was "fully justified" because of the positive test and noting that Backstrom conceded also taking the allergy medication on the day of the final. But the IOC ruled that the player should not be kicked out of the Sochi Games altogether, citing "mitigating circumstances." "There was no indication of any intent of the athlete to improve his performance by taking a prohibited substance," the IOCs three-person disciplinary commission said. "As a consequence, the athlete is entitled to receive the silver medal and diploma awarded in respect of the mens ice hockey event." Backstrom tested positive for excess levels of pseudoephedrine after Swedens win over Slovenia in the quarter-finals on Feb. 19. He said the stimulant was contained in "Zytec-D," a medication he had been taking for allergies. The IOC said the positive result in the "A" sample was confirmed on the morning of Feb. 23. A hearing with Backstrom and Swedish team officials was quickly assembled. Among those attending was Bjorn Waldeback, the Swedish hockey team doctor and chief medical officer of the Swedish Olympic Committee. The IOC said Backstrom had "nothing to hide" and explained he had been taking the allergy medication regularly for seven years on the advice of a doctor and had never produced a positive test. He said he had taken the medication earlier that day. The IOC said Backstrom told the panel he knew the medication contained pseudoephedrine but relied on Waldebacks advice that the dosage would not trigger a positive test. Waldeback said he was "at fault" for that advice. Backstroms backup "B" sample was tested later on Feb. 23 and also came back positive. The IOC ruled that Backstrom committed an anti-doping violation by having the banned substance in his system. But the panel said he had been "open and co-operative," had disclosed the medication on his doping control form and had relied on Waldebacks advice. The IOC ruled that Waldeback "made a serious error" by telling Backstrom his use of the medication would not result in a positive test. If the doctor applies for Olympic accreditation in the future, the IOC should "seriously consider" his role in the case, the panel said. The IOC said the decision "should in no way" be seen as taking away from the responsibility of athletes to be vigilant and ensure that no prohibited substances enter their body. Air Max Plus Wholesale China .C. -- Eric Staal kept his focus after his apparent breakaway goal was waived off early in the third period. Cheap Air Max Plus Shoes . Carl Hagelin and Mats Zuccarello scored second-period goals, and Talbot made 24 saves in the Rangers 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night. Talbot allowed the first goal but was steady the rest of the way in relief of the struggling Lundqvist, who started the previous eight games and allowed at least three goals in the last seven outings. "We owed the fans this one," Talbot said. "Theyve been supporting us quite a bit lately, and we havent really produced for them." Benoit Pouliot tied it in the first period, Chris Kreider added a goal in the third, and Derick Brassard had two assists. Kreider made it 4-1 with 7:14 remaining. "Probably our best game all year when it comes to playing a full 60 minutes and everyone contributing," Hagelin said. "We definitely needed one of these just to feel good about ourselves." New York improved to 2-4-2 on the homestand that concludes Monday against Toronto. "There is not a whole lot of time to think about it," Talbot said. "Just go out there and try to carry this game into tomorrow." Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said he decided on his starting goalie for Monday, but didnt reveal his choice. "Hes a young kid thats learning the NHL game," Vigneault said of the 26-year-old rookie Talbot. "He came in here and did what we expect of our goalies and gave us a chance to win." Jason Pominville scored for Minnesota, and Niklas Backstrom stopped 32 shots. He made his second straight start in place of Josh Harding, who is out while adjustments are made to medication for multiple sclerosis. Minnesota, which has lost four of six, has netted only 13 goals in eight games. "When you put yourself in a hole, its hard to get out of it when goals have been tough to come by and overall youre just not feeling good about the way weve been playying," forward Zach Parise said. Cheap Air Max Plus Wholesale. "Its just been a frustrating stretch for us. "Weve got to find a way to score. Thats the bottom line. Were not scoring. Were not giving ourselves a chance." New York took control during a dominant second period in which the Rangers outscored the Wild 2-0 and outshot them 17-5 to take a 3-1 lead and a 29-16 edge in shots. "Our compete level, especially in the second period, was probably our best four-line, six-defence pairing in a long time," Vigneault said. Hagelin gave the Rangers the lead when he took a pass from Derek Dorsett in the right circle and snapped a drive that beat Backstrom at 11:26 for his third goal in four games. The Rangers made it 3-1 with 1:25 left in the second when Brassard skated the length of the ice, curled behind the net, and flung a backhanded pass into the slot to the charging Zuccarello. New York fell behind 4:08 in on Pominvilles team-leading 17th goal. Mikael Granlund, who returned after a long absence, won a faceoff in the New York zone. The puck came to Pominville, who moved it back to Ryan Suter at the left point and then cut to the front. Suter sent him a quick pass for a deflection past Talbot. It marked the first time in 11 road games that Minnesota scored first. "We felt pretty good about the way we played in the first period," Parise said. "We got the first goal and that was it." New York cashed in on its second power play when Pouliot finished a crisp passing sequence started by Brad Richards. Brassard moved the puck to Ryan McDonagh, who sent a floating drive toward the net that Pouliot deflected in with 3:52 left. Pouliot, who has five goals, has scored in three of his last six games and has a point in four straight and five of six. NOTES: The Rangers improved to 3-16-1 after allowing the first goal. • For the first time in more than 30 years, Canada officially has a medal drought at the World Junior Hockey Championship. Gary Roberts Jersey . Canada dropped the bronze medal game to Russia by a score of 2-1 on Sunday, marking the first time it has failed to win a medal in back-to-back tournaments since the Program of Excellences inception in 1982. Russia stormed out to an early 2-0 lead over Canada on Sunday thanks to first period goals from Mikhail Grigorenko and Eduard Gimatov. It would provide the basis for a lead Russia would never surrender. Canada would get on the board mid-way through the third with defenceman Josh Morrissey giving the Canadian team some life, but it would not be enough as the Russians would beat Canada to claim bronze for a second straight year. Andrei Vasilevski turned away 28 of the 29 shots Canada threw at him on Sunday, improving his all-time World Junior record to 11-4 over the course of three tournaments. He was named Russias Player of the Game. Aaron Ekblad was named Canadas Player of the Game. Canadian goalkeeper Zach Fucale took over as starter after Canadas preliminary round loss to the Czech Republic and stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced in the semifinal. The Montreal Canadiens draft pick expressed disappointment with the result despite his strong play. "This is absolutely not about me," he told TSN in a post-game interview. "This is just about the team winning and we came here for a reason and we didnt get it done." Canada has now gone five tournaments without bringing home World Junior gold. Their last gold came in 2009 when they claimed their fifth consecutive tournament, winning on home ice in Ottawa. The loss sets Canada up for a tough group at the 2015 World Juniors that will be hosted in Toronto and Montreal. With the fourth-place finish, Canada is set to once again be drawn with the United States. They will also be joined by defending gold medalists Finland as well as Slovakia and Germany. "For guys coming back next year its good motivation," said forward Curtis Lazar, who finished third in team scoring with three goals and four assists in seven games. "Its Canada, you want to get back on top. Its a tough tournament to win, thats the bottom line," Lazar added. This Canadian team has 11 players that would be eligible to play in next years tournament, including Lazar. However, 17-year-olds Sam Reinhart and Aaron Ekblad are projected to go first and second in the 2014 NHL Draft and their availability for next years team would be questionable. It was a tough tournament for Canada, as the team surrendered the first goal in all but one of their games. But the bronze medal game saw a better overall effort for Canada than the one they put forth in the semifinal loss to Finland. "In this particular game you could make a case that Team Canada deserved a better fate but in the bigger picture of where they finished in the tournament I dont think you could say they deserved anything more than what they got, which is a fourth-place finish," TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie said. "In a difficult game to play, they had more emotion, they had more commitment and more chances to score and generated a lot more than they did in the semifinals against Finland, where they generated only three shots in the third period," McKenzie added. The tournament also saw head coach Brent Sutters perfect World Junior record shattered after Canada lost its preliminary round game to the Czech Republic 5-4 in a shootout. Sutter had gone 6-0 and won gold in both his previous coaching tenures in the 2005 tournament in Vancouver and Kelowna and the 2006 tournament in Grand Forks, North Dakota. McKenzie believes Canadas troubles may have less to do with Canadas on-ice personnel and more to do with the mental approach the team takes to the high-profile competition, especially the knockout games. "Its more along the lines of [being] terrified to lose than [they] are determined to win," McKenzie observed of three years worth of semifinal defeats. Fucale would also acknowledge the weight of high expectations after the defeat. "Here its all about results," said the 18-year-old. "Canada expects more, we expect more from ourselves and you know we didnt get it done." Oliver Kylington Jersey . He finished 10th in the championship standings this season with just one victory.JGR shuffled its crew chiefs last week and Busch will be paired with Adam Stevens, who guided him to seven wins this year in the Nationwide Series. Mitchell Trubisky College Jersey . Dancevic won his singles match on Friday, defeating Go Soeda 6-4, 7-6 (2), 6-1, to even the best-of-five series at a game apiece. World No. 18 Kei Nishikori defeated Peter Polansky in the opening match, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.Sidney Crosby helped spark the golden age of Canadian junior hockey. In 2005, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain and his teammates ended a seven-year gold-medal drought at the world junior championship, which began a stretch of five straight titles. That sets the standard pretty high, Crosby said. Its pretty tough to do that. Its what we try for every year, its what we expect.Lately, the results havent been there. Canada has two silvers and one bronze to show for the past five tournaments, including two at home.Connor McDavid was 12 the last time Canada won gold at the junior level, and hockeys Next One is tired of all the losing.I know people are starting to doubt Canada and they dont really believe anymore, McDavid said. Its annoying a little bit. You see how past people did and how past teams did and how great they were and everything like that. People just dont expect that out of us anymore. They expect us to lose. Thats just not how it should be for Canada.McDavid and his current teammates are out to change all that. The tournament is back in Canada in Montreal and Toronto, and the host nation has an older team and is justifiably favoured to win gold. The past, defenceman Darnell Nurse insists, isnt on his mind or those of his teammates. But Canadas recent past defines its present, and its not pretty. In 2014 and 2013, Canada came away from tournaments in Malmo, Sweden, and Ufa, Russia without medals. Before 2012 bronze, Canada fell short to the U.S. in 2011 and coughed up a three-goal lead to Russia in 2010.To Hockey Canada director of player personnel Ryan Jankowski, the past two years werent good enough, but the previous five years, which included two gold medals in 2008 and 2009 — couldve gone either way. Jankowski pointed out how Canada needed a shootout to beat the U.S. and overtime to beat Sweden and Russia to make it five.We got the bounces for three straight years, we didnt get the bounces for two, and then the last two we havent been as good as we should be, Jankowski said. It is frustrating, but its also how tight international hockey is now.Parity is at the core of Canadas gold medal drought. It feels like an eternity since a run of nine golds in 13 years from 1985 through 1997.Theres so much parity and I think its a good thing for hockey, obviously, said Philadelphia Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds, who was on the 2008 champion Canadian team. Youre getting great players coming from every country. I think its huge for the game. Its building it up, its making it more popular and its just spreading the game worldwide.Having young talent around the world add up to gold medals is great for junior hockey. Russia won with Evgeny Kuznetsov in 2011, SSweden with Filip Forsberg in 2012, the United States with Seth Jones in 2013 and Finland with Teuvo Teravainen in 2014. Stitched North Carolina Jerseys. Canadas last team to win it included John Tavares, Jordan Eberle, P.K. Subban and Alex Pietrangelo. Current junior winger Jake Virtanen fondly remembers that group. The last time I remember was Eberle, Tavares and those guys when they were unbelievable, Virtanen said. That kind of brings back good memories in my family, and we were pretty happy when Canada won gold. The past handful of teams arent remembered as anything special, even though they had plenty of star players. Nathan MacKinnon, the No. 1 NHL pick in 2013, knows the down side of parity in international hockey. Its good and bad. You always want hockey to be as successful as it can be worldwide, said MacKinnon, who was on the 2013 team that finished off the medal table. But being a homer, you hate to lose and I hated losing there. I think its only a matter time before we kind of get that back.I dont know if we have to adjust and kind of play differently — maybe were playing a little bit too old-school, Im not really sure.MacKinnon expects coach Benoit Groulx to do a good job with this years team, which is headlined by McDavid, Nurse, 2014 No. 2 pick Sam Reinhart and New York Rangers right-winger Anthony Duclair. The online sportsbook Bodog has installed Canada as the 3-to-2 favourite to win the gold medal. And while Nurse said of the pressure of playing at home that at the end of the day, its just hockey, history shows it adds a different element.Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was part of the 2003 team that lost in the gold-medal game to Russia in Halifax, N.S. Fleury loved his time playing for Canada at that tournament but understands theres always more intense pressure on home ice.The guys know it, and they all want to win, Fleury said. You know theres people outside (who) expect you to win. Its not like you dont put it on yourself to win. I think all the guys are accountable to get it done. One of the tough parts of international hockey, as Crosby and MacKinnon pointed out, is that its a one-and-done circumstance come the quarter-finals.Anything can happen, Crosby said. Its not easy.It wont be easy for McDavids Canadian team to get the job done either, but the 17-year-old embraces the opportunity to end the countrys gold-medal drought. With it being on our soil and with the home crowd behind us and stuff like that, I dont see any reason why this cant be the year for Canada, McDavid said. Its our game, hockeys our game and its our pride, its our joy and its our job to put the belief back into Canadians.---Follow @SWhyno on Twitter Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

    • ST. Adidas Shoes Clearance Sale . LOUIS -- Chris Johnson became a star under Jeff Fisher, rushing for 2,000 yards in 2009 a year after the Tennessee Titans drafted him in the first round. On Sunday, Johnson got the best of his former coach. "C.J., when he gets on the edge he goes," Fisher said after Johnsons second touchdown of the game was the go-ahead score in the Titans 28-21 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Fisher has seen Johnson run wild plenty of times, just not from the opposite sideline. He again downplayed the matchup against the franchise he coached for 16 years, saying it was "another week for me," although he expected the loss to hurt more for former Titans players now in the St. Louis lineup. "I think this one probably at the end of the day, its probably going to last a little longer, hurt a little bit more," Fisher said. "Because it was important to them." Titans coach Mike Munchak, a longtime former Fisher aide, also said this game was nothing personal. The postgame handshake was brief. "Thats something we can talk more about in the off-season and having bragging rights about who beat who," Munchak said. "But this is all about us vs. them. "Players are the ones who win the games." Johnson ran for 150 yards on 23 carries for the Titans (4-4), who ended a three-game losing streak after their bye against a team on short rest. The Rams lost 14-9 to Seattle on Monday night and have dropped three in a row. Johnsons 19-yard scoring run snapped a tie with 2:54 remaining the play after Jurrell Casey sacked and stripped quarterback Kellen Clemens, and Derrick Morgan recovered. Clemens landed on it first, but the ball squirted away. "Its a mistake that cant be made," Clemens said. "And unfortunately I made it." The Rams (3-6) have lost three in a row despite a second straight 100-yard game from rookie Zac Stacy, who had 127 yards on 27 carries and two touchdowns. St. Louis drove to the Titans 26 in the final minute, but Austin Pettis could only get a hand on Clemens high throw to a corner of the end zone on fourth down. Johnson gained his most yards since Week 7 last season against Buffalo when he had 195. In the previous four games, hed totalled 110 yards with a 2.4-yard average per carry. "It helps my confidence, sure," Johnson said. "I felt like I was getting close to breaking out." Rookie Tavon Austins 24-yard punt return gave the Rams a final chance at their 39 with 50 seconds to go and no timeouts. Chris Givens had a 25-yard catch to put them in position. Rodney McLeod intercepted an overthrown pass by Locker with 4:44 left, less than two minutes after former Titan Jared Cook tied it at 21 with a 10-yard catch from Clemens. Locker put the Titans up 21-14 with 9:42 to go on a 4-yard run, breaking a tackle by linebacker Alec Ogletree about 2 yards from the end zone. Stacy gained more than 100 yards for the second straight week on the next drive with a 32-yard carry topped off by a horse collar penalty on Casey after hed stepped out of bounds. The Rams had a sloppy start with three straight penalties helping the Titans score on their opening possession capped by Shonn Greenes 5-yard run. Cortland Finnegan, Darian Stewart and Jermelle Cudjo were whistled for horse collar, holding and illegal use of hands. Stacys 3-yard run in the second quarter was St. Louis first rushing touchdown of the season. It also was their first TD in two games overall, to snap a 1-for-8 slump inside the 20. Clemens was 7 for 7 for 75 yards to open the game, and 0 for 6 to finish the half -- with two dropped passes. The Rams failed to capitalize on Cortland Finnegans interception in the final minute when Greg Zuerlein pushed a 44-yard field goal attempt just wide to the right -- his first miss inside 50 of the season in 15 attempts. Notes: "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell wore a Rams camp during an interview on the scoreboard during a break in the first quarter. ... Casey got his fifth sack of the season in the first quarter. ... Coty Sensabaughs fumble recovery at the Titans 10 in the first quarter stifled a Rams scoring opportunity and capitalized on a careless play by rookie Benny Cunningham, who lost his grip without contact. ... Those lessons were more than enough to overwhelm the Utah Jazz. Lou Williams scored 25 points and the Hawks continued their offensive upswing as they rolled to an easy 118-85 victory over the Jazz on Friday night, winning their third straight and for the fourth time in five games. The Hawks had 32 assists, adding to their NBA lead and bringing a smile to the face of their first-year coach. "Its an indication theyre just getting a better and better understanding of the ball movement and how we want to play," Budenholzer said. "Passing and hitting the open guy just becomes something thats expected." Atlanta set a scoring high with its 124-107 win over Sacramento on Wednesday night and has topped 110 points in three straight games. Al Horford, who had 23 points, has been a key in the recent flurry of high-scoring games. He has averaged 23.6 points in his last five games. Williams, who has played in only 14 games in his return from knee surgery, took extra shooting practice after scoring only two points in 20 minutes in Wednesday nights win over Sacramento. "Im glad it paid off," Williams said. "It was one of the nights we had everything clicking." The Hawks never trailed and pushed their lead to double digits for good in the opening period. They kept up the pressure, outscoring Utah in every period and making 52.3 per cent of their shots (45 of 86) from the field. Budenholzer said the most encouraging sign was "not so much putting them away, but just continuing to play the way we play, just doing the things we did to establish a lead. Tonight was a step forward in that direction." Jeff Teague had nine points and eight assists. Horford was resting when the Hawks took an 85-58 lead into the final period. "Our energy was the difference," Horford said. The Jazz agreed. Cheap Adidas Shoes Online. "Its a mental thing," said Utahs Derrick Favours. I was looking for that effort. We just didnt have it from the beginning tonight." Enes Kanter had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Utah (7-22). Alec Burks also had 13 points. Trey Burke, who scored a career-high 30 points against Orlando, made only 1 of 8 shots for two points. Atlantas Paul Millsap had 14 points and 10 rebounds against his former Utah teammates. The Hawks took their largest halftime lead of the season, pulling ahead by 21 points to lead 55-34 at the break. Horford had 14 points in the half. Kyle Korver extended his NBA record by making a 3-pointer in his 96th consecutive game. His made the first of his two 3s with 4:24 remaining in the first period. Utah had a scare midway through the third quarter when Gordon Hayward was slow to return to his feet following a collision with Teague as the two were reaching for a loose ball. Hayward remained in the game following a timeout and finished with 11 points. Jeremy Evans, the 2012 slam-dunk competition champion, missed a dunk and then landed hard on his back with 7:53 remaining, giving the Jazz another scare. Following a brief delay, Evans remained in the game and had 10 points. NOTES: The Jazz are 0-11 on the road and 1-13 overall when trailing at halftime. ... There were makeshift roles being created to make up for the starters that were relegated to the role of spectators. But heres the upshot for Pete Carroll: The Seahawks (5-3) withstood the absences and came away with a needed victory. And there is optimism that those injured starters will be back on the field sooner than later.Under the circumstances of this game where so many guys played that hadnt played before I take even more out of it because of that, Carroll said on Monday. ... The kind of effort we need to be a good football team was there and thats a good sign for us and a couple weeks in a row of feeling that.Lewis, Gilliam and Shead were just three of the backups being thrust into key roles against the Raiders. Alvin Bailey was a late replacement at left tackle after Russell Okung suffered a calf strain during practice last week.Shead only got his chance because Kam Chancellors backup Jeron Johnson was out with a concussion. Undrafted rookie Brock Coyle started at middle linebacker with K.J. Wright moving back to weakside linebacker due to an injury suffered by Malcolm Smith. Not everything was clean, as to be expected. Shead was in for all 60 defensive plays, but missed some tackles and got fooled in coverage. The offensive line shuffling was extremely challenging in protecting Russell Wilson even before left guard James Carpenter when down with a sprained ankle in the second half. But the Seahawks held on and it appears theyre about to get healthy. Its incredibly valuable for them personally but for the team. They gain so much out of the play time. You can only gain so mucch out of watching, Carroll said. Jordans Shoes Online Wholesale. For a guy like Patrick Lewis to play all those snaps and get through it and it just makes in his mind and in ours as well we know that he can play. And so right across the board with all of those guys, everybody that stepped up did a nice job.Carroll expects at least four to six players back for Sundays game against the New York Giants as long as they make it through the week.Centre Max Unger (foot) was the closest to playing this past week. Unger dressed for the win against Oakland, but was only going to be used in an emergency situation. Chancellor (groin) and Okung (calf) both suffered muscle strains in practice last week. Carroll said both players feel theyre ready to go.Johnson (concussion) and defensive tackle Jordan Hill (ankle) are both likely to be cleared and cornerback Jeremy Lane should be activated off short-term injured reserve after being out since the season opener with a groin injury. Lane could move back into a starting role as Seattles nickel cornerback even with how well Marcus Burley has played. Its a big turn, Carroll said. It depends on how much good fortune we have. Well have four guys back that werent ready for us this week and we could have eight. Its amazing that it could be like that, but were on the verge of getting some guys back. That wasnt the end of the uplifting injury news for Seattle. Linebacker Bobby Wagner (toe) is recovering quicker than expected and while hes not likely to be ready for the Giants, he could be back in the next couple of weeks. Tight end Zach Miller (ankle) is not as far along as Wagner, and has yet to run on flat ground but is progressing also. This is just day to day. They have to come back from the work load, Carroll said. Thats always what the case is; he works hard today, can he go tomorrow without stepping backward? Well see what happens.___AP NFL websites: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

    • On the heels of their upset victory in Montreal last week, Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Tim Burke admits his team will have to play even better in Week 17 if they hope to string together consecutive wins for the first time since August 2011. Air Max Saldi . But the truth is, with eight players on the one-game injured list and another 11 on the nine-game — including nearly a dozen starters — the 3-12 Blue and Gold are more so concentrating on roster development as they re-build for 2014. One of the young players that has taken full advantage of his new starting role is running back Will Ford, who has shown marked improvement game to game since being plugged into the starting role for the injured Chad Simpson. "As a true player you never want to sit on the sidelines, so when you do get that chance youve got to make the best of it. 120 per cent each and every snap," said Ford, who has also snagged special teams Player of the Week honours from the league for his kick and punt return success this year. "Sometimes it takes a little while for them to find their running style in the CFL, and I think that is what Will has found," said Burke, of his tailback. "Hes found how he wants to run the ball in the CFL, and hes made a good case for himself, thats for sure." "Im just taking advantage and making the most of my opportunities when my name is called," added Ford. "And times when my name isnt called, protecting the quarterback and just trying to do everything right." The early knock on Ford was his pass blocking following a couple games where the weakness began to be exploited. It eventually kept him out of second down situations after a training camp that saw him come in specifically on passing downs to take advantage of the speedsters escapability in space. But since his first career start in early September, the 26-year-old has turned the corner. Burke says Ford "did a great job blocking" in Montreal where the back was often man-on-man with tenacious veteran linebacker Kyries Hebert. Another young player who has impressed Burke is linebacker Ian Wild, who has all but cemented himself into the Blue Bombers plans for next season. "Hes a real good player," said the head coach of his 6-foot 208-pound rookie. "Hes made a lot of plays. Hes versatile, anywhere from long-snapping to ending up in the post playing free safety. Hes durable. Hes smart. And hes got a lot of football sense." "He doesnt look all that big, but when hes out on the field he has a lot of power. He can get off of an offensive lineman trying to block him and he can deliver a blow to him too, so were pretty happy we have Ian." "I would think hed be around for a long time. Hes very young." added Burke of Wild who only turns 24 this winter. "Hes right out of college, so he should have a long-term future." Notes: Jovon Johnson made a marvelous recovery this week from an ankle injury and will again start at safety. His prognosis went from out, to doubtful, to ready-to-go in a matter of days. Former NFL-standout Mike Sims-Walker makes his first CFL start on Saturday for injured wide receiver Aaron Kelly... Recent newcomers Michael McAdoo and J.D. • This week the 2013/14 Premier League season comes to a close. Cheap Air Max Trainers . Here at TSN.ca we will take a look back at the season by bringing together a panel of experts to help pick the best 50 players of the season. This list is based purely on their performances this season. It is not a list of who we think the best 50 players in the league are. Fourteen members were asked to take part (panel below) and submit their top 20 players of the season. Their list was then placed into a scoring system and then the totals determined the overall positions in the top 50. Each day this week we will release the list in 10s. The sport is very much about opinions, so please feel free to write your own list in the comments below. You can read part one of the list here. You can read part two of the list here. You can read part three of the list here. You can read part four of the list here. Here is how the Top 20 were scored – 1st place – 30pts; 2nd place – 25; 3rd place – 22; 4th place – 20; 5th place – 18; 6th place – 17; 7th place – 15; 8th place – 14; 9th place – 13; 10th place – 12; 11th place – 10; 12th place – 9; 13th place – 8; 14th place – 7; 15th place – 6; 16th place – 5; 17th place – 4; 18th place – 3; 19th place – 2; 20th place – 1. The Panel Six members of TSNs soccer team were on the panel and were joined by eight other members from around the world who were asked to represent their specific field. Joining our staff members were two outstanding statistical experts, Jonny Blain and Simon Gleave, two brilliant reporters/commentators covering the league, Stewart Coggin and Paul Sarahs and two extremely knowledgeable tactics writers, Tim Palmer and Ritesh from the False9 website and a man who covers the development side of the league like no other, Aidan from the England Youth website. In addition, also involved was arguably one of the knowledgeable writers covering the league in the world, Michael Cox, aka Zonal Marking. Seamus Coleman (Everton) – The eighth member of Evertons team to make the top 50 and the best of them all, according to the panel, as well as a recent award ceremony at Goodison Park. The right back had a superb season for Roberto Martinez, continuing the development that began under David Moyes.  Six goals from defence certainly helps players get attention, but the Irishman was more than just a goal-scorer, defending brilliantly and making intelligent runs to create key overlaps in wide areas. Named on nine ballots, 125 pts. 9. Sergio Aguero (Man City) – The Argentine has now played three full seasons in the Premier League and, probably, the league has yet to see him at his true best. The 25-year-old is a genuine world class star, arguably one of the finest talents to grace English football in years, but his best season in the Premier League remains his first, as he has only started 41 games over the last two years. Injuries limited him to starting only 19 games this campaign, but his 17 goals show what he could do if he were fit. Rumors continue to swirl that he may go to a Spanish giant this summer, but the Premier League and Manchester City will be desperate for a healthy Kun to play over 30 league games next season. If he does, he could be number one this time next year. Named on 10 ballots, 139 pts. 8. Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) – Another player whose ranking would be much higher if injuries didnt take away a large chunk of his season. The early candidate for player of the season, Ramsey was a magician at the heart of the Gunners midfield, starting 17 of the clubs first 18 league games and scoring eight goals. Arsenal averaged 2.16 points per game during that stretch, however, the Welshman started just two of the last 21 league games and Arsenals points per game average dipped to 1.7. Only 23, Arsenal fans are excited at the prospect of a healthy full season for Ramsey to play alongside Mesut Ozil next year. Named on 11 ballots, 156 pts. 7. Adam Lallana (Southampton) – Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and now Adam Lallana. The noted Southampton academy certainly has produced some excellent youngsters in recent years, but none of them has made Saints fans smile as much as Lallana. Now 25, Southampton has nurtured the midfielder into an English international and the key, central, play-making cog in their system. Lallana doesnt have the pace of any of those other graduates, but he is an excellent distributor who demands the ball in tight quarters and doesnt spend too much time on it, adhering more to the continental model than the English game. Comfortable playing wide, when asked, his lateral movement in those areas helped his game and the clubs attack. Named on 11 ballots, 164 pts. 6. David Silva (Man City) – If the Premier League has been denied of seeing the true, consistent brilliance of Aguero, Man City have certainly made up for it with David Silvas displays each week. No player in the league has more elegance than the Spanish wizard who is the driver behind the tempo and movement of Citys passing moves. Silva, quite simply, has made City better, showing them how to pass and move, create angles and drift across the field to bring in attacking full backs to provide width. All of his skills ensured he absolutely dominated Manchester United at Old Trafford and then carried City on his back during their comeback at Anfield in the second half. If he scored more goals, you could be looking at the real player of the season, but it is not as if City needs more goalscorers. Named on 13 ballots, 213 pts. 5. Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) – The Liverpool skipper has one act left in the drama that has been the 2013/14 season. Cruelly, if Man City win the league on Sunday, the image for many, of his campaign will be the slip in the middle of Anfield against Chelsea. What shouldnt be forgotten, however, is how he adapted to a deeper role, making many sensational passes from deep areas. There were far too many to name, but the one to Daniel Sturridge at Fulham with the outside of his foot was sensational, as was the one to Luis Suarez that helped win them a penalty at West Ham. Gerrard was brilliant from set-pieces and the spot too, scoring crucial goals to build the momentum late in the season, including ones at Old Trafford and the winner in the final minute at Fulham. Named on all 14 ballots, and as high as third by three members, 234 pts. 4. Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) – There are many faces at Anfield standing for something. Sturridge, signed in January of 2013, is the face of the Rodgers Revolution, one that really kicked into high gear once Chelsea accepted 12 million pounds for the forward. The 24-year-old is the only Englishman, other than Wayne Rooney, to score 20 PL goals in a season since 2010 and one of his best came back in August against Aston Villa that showed his all-around qualities, drifting out to the wing before picking his moment to run into the box.  He then showed tremendous ball control, dancing around the defenders before looping the ball over Brad Guzan in the Villa goal. It was an outstanding goal helped by teammates who didnt touch the ball and one that rightfully got his manager off his seat to applaud. Rodgers was full of praise, afterwards, for his striker and didnt stop short at a bold prediction: "I think he can be one of the top scorers in the league this year." He was right. Named on all 14 ballots, and second on two, 265 pts. 3. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – The Belgian ends the season in hot water with his boss, dropped against Norwich, after he called out Jose Mourinhos style in the Champions League semi-final loss, but the truth is Hazards brilliance arrived at Stamford Bridge much earlier than the talent needed to assemble around him. He is far from the finished article, occasionally losing concentration defensively on his flank, not taking over games as his talent should dictate, instead waiting for the conditions of the game to allow him to get involved, rather than vice-versa. However, Chelsea need Hazard as much as he needs them and it will be interesting to see how Mourinho goes about massaging his ego over the next few months. Without any good strikers this season, the creativity for Chelsea fell on the shoulders of the trio in behind them and Hazard is far better than the rest in that position, even though Oscar and Willian have showed great promise. Named on 13 ballots, and second on two, 266 pts. 2. Yaya Toure (Man City) – There is no footballer in the world that is like the Ivorian. That doesnt make him the best, but it does mean it is extra special to watch the power and dominance he exudes from the midfield position. There are few better sights in the league than his surging runs from deep, gliding past terrified defenders. The former Barcelona man has been playing at a world class level for a number of seasons now, but elevated his level this season, becoming just the second central midfielder (Frank Lampard was the other) to score 20 Premier League goals in a season. If he plays at this level for a couple of more years, Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane will have some serious competition for a spot in the all-time Premier League midfield. Named on all ballots, and first overall on two, 315 pts. 1. Luis Suarez (Liverpool) - Like many geniuses, there are many sides of Suarez, who is truly the polarizing superstar the Premier League desires. Some love to hate him, others hate to love him, but the man who started the season suspended for biting an opponent, ends it as the best player in the league. There are many responsible for the remarkable rise of Liverpool, from seventh in the table to serious Premier League contenders in less than a year, but it is hard to argue that the main reason for their success is the brilliance of the Uruguayan. The 27-year-old can score all different kind of goals, is a lethal finisher and gives defenders nightmares with all sorts of different tricks. He spent all of last summer trying to move to a contender, but by December signed a new long-term deal at Liverpool. The Reds may turn out to win nothing this season, after all, but their biggest scalp may well be proving to Suarez that they are legitimate, perennial contenders for the title. Named on all ballots, first overall by 12 of the 14 members, 405 pts. Nike Air Max Cheap Sale . She has an appointment with a specialist next week to finally figure out what is causing the pain she has dealt with for much of the season. In the meantime, Gulbis is contending for her first LPGA Tour victory in seven years. Gulbis was tied with Texan Stacy Lewis at 7-under 135, putting the Americans a stroke behind leaders Meena Lee of South Korea and Caroline Masson of Germany after two rounds in the North Texas LPGA Shootout. With a 65 on Friday, Gulbis had her first sub-70 round this year. "I havent played a lot this year, and I havent played very well in the events Ive played in, so it felt really good to get a good round in the 60s and to get around making some birdies," Gulbis said. "It felt more like how I played at the end of last year, which I hadnt seen yet this year." Masson, who led after the first two rounds of the inaugural North Texas event last year before tying for 15th, had five birdies and a bogey for her second 67. Lewis, the No. 3 player in the world, had a bogey-free 64 to match Lee for the best second-round score at Las Colinas Country Club. Lewis had four consecutive birdies before finishing with seven straight pars, and Lee played her first nine holes -- the back nine -- without a par. "I didnt really do anything really crazy different from yesterday other than I putted a lot better, but just played really solid," said Lewis, who had her sixth runner-up finish last week in San Francisco since winning the Womens British Open in August. " I felt nice and relaxed out there, so it was a nice day." After her round, Lewis was headed to hit some balls with her 3-year-old nephew wearing a shirt that read, "My aunt is a better golfer than yours." In the last five LPGA events, Gulbis has a 67th-place finish while missing three cuts and withdrawing from the Hawaii tournament two weeks ago. The newlywed has completed only 17 rounds this season while dealing with the baalky wrist. Cheap Nike Air Max For Sale Online. "I had a really great off-season. I had a lot of time to work on my game and I felt really good coming into the season, and then I got hurt in like the second or third event of the year and took some time off, so thats been a bummer," Gulbis said. "But I had a really nice off-season, so Ive been trying to fall back on the work that my coach and I did." Christiana Kim (69) was alone in fifth at 6 under, one stroke better than first-round leader Suzann Pettersen (71) and four other players. Pettersen had a birdie at the par-5 third hole before consecutive bogeys and then a steady string of pars until a closing birdie. "I gave myself a lot of good looks for birdies, just couldnt make much. Good conditions," said Pettersen, in her only second tournament since missing a month with more back issues. "All good, no complaints." Also at 5 under were Julieta Granada (66), Dewi Claire Schreefel (66), Cristie Kerr (70) and Dori Carter (70). Lee, who won the last of her two LPGA Tour titles in 2006, started Friday with an eagle-3 on the 510-yard 10th hole. She followed with a bogey, consecutive birdies, another bogey, three birdies in a row and then a bogey on the par-5 18th. Her scorecard for the front nine was much cleaner, with birdies on Nos. 3-5 and only pars aside from that. She started the tournament Thursday with a double bogey on the very first hole. "Im happy to be done with the second round. Im really happy," said Lee, who has her best 36-hole score this season. Top-ranked Inbee Park, the defending champ in North Texas, was 3 under after a 68. Michelle Wie was 2 under after rounds of 67 and 73. She won the Hawaii tournament. Lexi Thompson, the 19-year-old American playing for the first time since become a major champion the first weekend in April, followed her opening 70 with a 71 to reach 1 under. Seventy-four players made the cut, which was 2 over. There will be a second cut after Saturdays third round to the top 50 and ties. Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

    • Berea, OH (SportsNetwork. Nike Air Max Sverige Online .com) - Johnny Footballs rookie season is over. Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will miss Sundays finale against Baltimore with what his coach said Monday is a pretty significant hamstring injury. Manziel was hurt on a scramble in the final minutes of the first half Sunday when he was hit by two Carolina players while going out of bounds. The first-round draft pick was replaced by Brian Hoyer, whose status for this weekends game is up in the air after he suffered a shoulder injury against the Panthers. The injuries have left Browns coach Mike Pettine uncertain of who will start at quarterback against the Ravens. Undrafted rookie Connor Shaw will see more reps in practice this week but Pettine said on a conference call Monday he hasnt ruled out other options, according to the teams official website. Manziel struggled after replacing Hoyer to make his first NFL start against Cincinnati last week and didnt fare much better in four series against the Panthers on Sunday. He completed 13 of 26 passes in the two starts for 112 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. The Browns (7-8) have lost four games in a row but will finish with their best record since going 10-6 in 2007. Air Max Sverige . Roy says he will know more about Duchenes potential playing status Sunday. Duchene has been out since damaging the MCL in his left knee when he ran into a teammate against San Jose on March 29. Patric Hornqvist scored with the man-advantage at 13:56 of the third period to lift the Predators to a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. Matt Cullen and Roman Josi also scored power-play goals to help Nashville snap a three-game losing streak. The three man-advantage goals were a season high for the Predators. Nashville entered Thursday with the NHLs seventh-best power play. "The power play was really huge, but our 5-on-5 play was strong," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. "We gave up seven shots in the last two periods and that includes a couple of power plays that they had." Martin St. Louis had both goals for the Lightning, losers of three of their last four. With time winding down in the final period, Hornqvist collected the rebound of Mike Fishers shot and slipped it by Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop. "It hit the heel of my stick, and then I dont know if I got a whack on it on the rebound, too," Hornqvist said. "Its nice to see that it finally went in. Thats how I have to play every single night to be effective." St. Louis opened the scoring at 5:26 of the first period. Ondrej Palat carried the puck from the left boards into the slot, where he sent a backhand off the left post. St. Louis was parked in front of the Nashville goal to tap home the rebound. Less than four minutes later, St. Louis struck again. With the Lightning on a power play, St. Louis wrist shot from the right faceoff dot hit Nashville goaltender Carter Hutton in the chest, fell to the ice, and tricklled across the goal line. Air Max Rea Sverige. . Hutton is 7-2-2 in his last 11 games. Since scoring a career-best four times in Tampa Bays Jan. 18 game against San Jose, St. Louis had not scored a goal, a stretch of nine games. He also was pointless in five games for Team Canada in their gold medal-winning performance at the Sochi Olympic Games. "Our 5-on-5 play was horrendous," St. Louis said. "Our battle level was very low. Youve got to grind it out in this league, and we didnt do that." After getting nine shots on goal in the first, Tampa Bay managed just four in the second and three in the third. "It was disgracefully embarrassing, thats what that game was," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. "Two periods, really, really disappointed. Seven shots in the last two periods?" Cullen struck at 12:05 of the second. Ryan Ellis skated the puck into the right circle, where he faked a shot and found Cullen at the back door for an easy tap-in. Josi tied the game 1:11 later on another power-play goal when the Swiss Olympian ripped a slap shot from the left faceoff dot over Bishops left shoulder. "The first period, we didnt manage the puck that well," Josi said. "We actually didnt play a bad period in the first, but they got up 2-0. After that, we just worked their defence and our forwards did a great job down low." NOTES: Palat has points in three-straight games. ... Cullen had not scored a goal since Nov. 27, breaking a stretch of 29 games without a goal. ... Nashville is 7-21-5 when its opponents score first. . The next game will be so important for us to get through.Cape Verde should have some confidence heading into its final group match because the team from the island nation finished first in its qualifying pool ahead of Zambia. Each team won at home, but Cape Verde had already qualified for the final tournament when it lost in Zambia.I think we know about their quality and they know about us, Cape Verde midfielder Toni Varela said. During the two games that we have played against them, we played against a good technical team, a lot of individual quality, so we are prepared. Nike Air Max Danmark Billig . "Ive got a lot of work to do on this team and the sooner that I can get back to my office and start that work, itll be better," he said straight-faced as the rest of the room erupted in laughter.BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Vincent Lecavaliers sore back is getting better. So is his self-confidence. Lecavalier capped a topsy-turvy finish by scoring with 15 seconds left, sending the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. It was his first goal since Nov. 27, a 22-game span that included nine games he missed with a back injury. "It felt good. Theyve been hard to come by since I got back from my injury," Lecavalier said. "Sometimes a goal like that will kind of, I dont want to say jumpstart, but get more confidence and keep going." The goal came during a scramble in the Sabres end and after Lecavalier missed on two other chances in the final 2-plus minutes. After his initial shot just missed the net, teammate Matt Read dug out a loose puck to the left of the Buffalo net and fed Lecavalier, who one-timed a shot from the left circle. The goal capped a furious finish in which the teams traded leads twice by combining to score four times in the final 6:32. Scott Hartnell had a goal and two assists, while Brayden Schenn and Jakub Voracek also scored in helping Philadelphia snap a two-game skid. Wayne Simmonds had two assists for the Flyers (24-19-4), who improved to 8-3 in their past 11 games. It was a game in which the Flyers twice rallied from one-goal deficits, and won for the eighth time this season when trailing in the third period. "Never give up, thats probably the biggest thing," said Hartnell, who has five goals and eight assists in his past 13 games. "We showed a lot of character, especially late there coming back." The Sabres, by comparison, wilted in what proved to be yet another reflection of why the young and patchwork teams NHL-worst record dropped to 13-27-5. Cody Hodgson and Matt DAgostini each had a goal and assist for Buffalo, which had an eight-game home point streak snapped at 6-0-2. Tyler Ennis also scored and Steve Ott set up two for the Sabres. "Missed assignments, not determined enough to battle for the puck, spinning and turning off hits, not getting an inch in the lanes, all of the above," interim coach Ted Nolan said, assessing what went wrong. "We just didnt do whhat we were supposed to do at the end. Nike Air Max Tilbud. " Nolan could add undisciplined penalties to the list. The Flyers converted two of six power-play chances, including Hartnells goal that put Philadelphia ahead 3-2 with Buffalos Zenon Konopka off for goalie interference. The Sabres squandered a rare offensive outburst, and blew a chance to win consecutive games for only the third time this season. Buffalo managed three goals in regulation for the first time in 10 games and only the ninth time this season. Buffalo also wasted what was a solid outing by backup goalie Jhonas Enroth, who stopped 29 shots but got little help in front on all four Flyers goals. That included Lecavaliers goal, during which a Sabres defender pushed a Flyers player into Enroth. Enroth did make a highlight-reel save on Claude Giroux 12 minutes into the first period, when he dived to his right and punched his glove out to stop the shot. The goalie also robbed Lecavalier with 2:23 left, when the forwards centring pass from a bad angle struck Sabres defenceman Mike Weber in front. The puck fluttered toward the net before Enroth dropped his stick and managed to smother it in the crease. NOTES: Sabres D Tyler Myers is eligible to return at Toronto on Wednesday after sitting out the third and final game of his suspension for an illegal check to the head of New Jersey forward Dainius Zubrus. ... Read returned after missing six games with concussion-like symptoms. ... Sabres President Pat LaFontaine said he thinks the team and rookie centre Mikhail Grigorenko are "on the same page" regarding the 2012 first-round picks development after the player initially balked at reporting to his Canadian junior team in Quebec City last weekend. LaFontaine said Grigorenko needs to develop by continuing to play, which would not have happened if he stayed in Buffalo with the 17-day Olympic break approaching next month. "Were doing what we think is best to develop our players," LaFontaine said. "I really believe under all the circumstances, that (Quebec City) is the best place for him." ... DAgostini earned his 100th career point with an assist on Hodgsons game-opening goal. Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '

Masahiro Tanaka has touched down in the United States and the courting of the Rakuten Golden Eagles stud pitcher has begun in earnest by a bevy of MLB teams interested in the Japanese ace. LUBBOCK, Texas -- Marcus Smart hustled back on defence to prevent a dunk and went careening into the crowd behind the basket. He was helped to his feet with only seconds remaining and No. 19 Oklahoma State on its way to a fourth straight defeat. Thats when all the trouble started. Suddenly incensed, Smart got in the face of a Texas Tech fan who appeared to say something to the star guard. Smart shoved him with two hands. The man stumbled backward a bit, but didnt fall. Teammates quickly pulled Smart away from the fracas, and he pointed back in the direction of the fan. Smart was called for a technical foul but was not ejected. He remained on the bench until the final buzzer. As fans stormed the court to celebrate Texas Techs 65-61 win Saturday night, Smart was escorted off the floor by a man wearing Oklahoma State colours -- with a uniformed police officer trailing right behind. A unanimous selection to the preseason All-America team, Smart could now face discipline from the Big 12. Texas Tech spokesman Trenten Hilburn said John Underwood, the conferences associate commissioner for basketball, said the league would review the situation. "I didnt see it yet. I want to make sure I see it and see what happened," Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford said after the game. "Im still trying to figure it out." No Cowboys players were made available to reporters after the game. Smart tried to block Jaye Crocketts dunk attempt from behind with 6.2 seconds to go and tumbled into the front row of the crowd. He was helped up by one man but then went after another, Jeff Orr, who travels thousands of miles each year to attend Texas Tech basketball games, according to athletic department spokesman Blayne Beal. Smart pushed Orr, and fans nearby looked stunned -- one wide-eyed woman next to Orr pointed at Smart as he was pulled away. Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith said he turned away from the play and didnt see the altercation. "You really have to find the film to see what happened," he said. "I assume the officials saw what happened. Thats why he got a technical out of it. The frustration when youre losing sometimes on a losing streak, Ive been there before, it can be tough. Im sure he regrets doing that, whatever he did, so things like that happen in the heat of the battle." Crockett scored 21 points and tied his season high with 12 rebounds to lead Texas Tech. Air Jordan 1 Sale. Smart had 22 points and Phil Forte added 15 for the Cowboys (16-7, 4-6 Big 12). Considered one of the best all-around players in the country, Smart has showed frustration more than once during an inconsistent season. The sophomore guard got off to a fantastic start, leading to speculation that he could be the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft this year. He has struggled in some recent games, though, including a four-point effort against West Virginia when he kicked a chair on the bench. That led to him apologizing to his teammates afterward. This one was tied at 61 when Crockett hit the go-ahead shot with 41 seconds remaining. Oklahoma States LeBryan Nash lost the ball in the lane, and Crockett raced toward the basket at the other end. Smart knocked the ball away and was called for a foul, then pushed Orr and drew the technical. Dusty Hannahs and Crockett each made one of two free throws for the final margin. The Red Raiders (12-11, 4-6) earned their second win over a Top 25 team in the past month. They beat then-No. 12 Baylor in January. None of Texas Techs players had ever played in front of a sellout crowd at home before. The last two at United Spirit Arena came in January 2007, including New Years Day when former Red Raiders coach Bob Knight got his 880th win to become the winningest coach in Division I. This victory gave the Red Raiders as many Big 12 wins this season as they had the past two years combined. The score was tied 13 times and the lead changed 12 times as each team put together runs throughout the game. Oklahoma State went on a 17-7 spurt to open the second half, including two 3-pointers by Forte and six points from Smart, to go up 44-36. But the Red Raiders didnt buckle. They used a 9-2 run to pull to 46-45 with 11:14 remaining. Texas Tech went ahead 51-48 on a 3 by Crockett right before Kamari Murphy picked up his fourth foul with 7:47 left. The Cowboys answered, culminating with a 3-pointer from Smart to go up 57-54 with 4:31 remaining. Crockett quickly tied it at 57 with a 3. Oklahoma State struggled early, making one field goal in 11 tries. But the Cowboys used a 10-0 run to go up 14-10. The Red Raiders answered with a 9-2 run and later an 8-2 spurt in the final 1:29 of the half to lead 29-27.
